And as I said,
I slept as though dead,
dreaming seamless dreams of lead.

My story reads »
Delilah was born native to France to her loving parents Guillaume(William) and Calanthe Devereux on April 19, 1937. The family was part of the high-middle class, and the first several years of her life were perfectly normal. She excelled in her language, reading often, and had a wide growing vocabulary. By the time she was six, her father was offered a higher paying job in America, and so the family decided to move there, the company also offering a big apartment to live in. Several weeks before they were about to take off for America, Calanthe fell deeply ill, and was forced to stay back at the hospital. Guillaume and Delilah went on anyways, continuing to have a safe trip to America.
The apartment was nice, her father enjoyed his job, and Delilah had grown fond of her Nanny, Mrs.Ramsey. After three months in America, Guillaume received a letter informing him that his wife had died from Tuberculosis, a disease that had seemed to be spreading to many people the part they had lived in in Normandie*. Devastated, Guillaume quit his job, and proceeded to become an alcoholic. Over the period of about a year, her father sank into worse depression and would not come home for periods of time. After him not coming back in over five months Mrs. Ramsey sent Delilah back to her grandparents in Normandie, Delilah and her nanny kept in touch by letters. She lived with her grandparents until she was seventeen, at which point she was taking care of them, and not the other way around. As they aged, Delilah couldn't take care of them anymore, and they were put in a nursing home. Needing a place to live, she moved back to America, Mrs.Ramsey now taking Delilah in as her own. At first Delilah didn't believe at all when Mr.Ramsey informed her that they were vampires, she regarded them as mythical creatures in the stories she had read. But after a long night of talking, she was convinced, and changed, and had become part of the Ramsey's family.
Delilah never heard from her father after she had left for her grandparents, and only received one or two birthday cards from her grandparents. But surely by now, all three have passed.
*No historical evidence about Tuberculosis epidemic there..just part of the story xD
The genre is » Delilah is overall a generally mellow person. When around people she doesn't know, she's quite and detached, but when shes with her friends she lets loose a bit, and with her closest friends, a lot. She is thoughtful, but she also has the tendency to space out. She is the kinda person who just lets life float by on a cloud, not liking to worry about to much, and usually has a dream-like look on her face. She also doesn't like things to get to her, so they mostly get pushed out of her head. Surprinsingly shes always up for a bit of an adventure, and doesn't mind getting dirty.
She doesn't have much feelings towards killing people, if anything it's rather neutral. To be honest, she doesn't give much thought to as whether it is good bad, to her, it just is.
