Peach proceeded to march off towards the lake, refusing to hinder her progress. She smirked at his snide comment, only turning her head a few degrees to see him out of the corner of her eye. "I'll have you know that I am much more empowered than you think." She pondered his comment a moment. "If anyone did 'try' to abduct me," air-quoting the word 'try' as she spoke, "They would most certainly fail." Her voice exuded even more confidence than her earlier statement did, arrogance flowing from her words like vapors off of cooling lava. While, outwardly, she was confident, she was withering inwardly. All she had was a can of pepper spray and even though she thought she knew how to use it, her physical strength would fail her if the situation came to that. As long as distance was maintained she could outrun any assailant, or so she assumed. Not that she would get herself into that situation in the first place. So, she boosted her inward confidence on the chance that she wouldn't need to rely on her own strength anyway.

Peach paused at his next comment, not that she stopped walking, but she ceased her previous thought to process what he had said. "Are you saying that you don’t even know what you’re doing?" How could that be? He had to know exactly what was happening. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be in such a rush to get there. His comment about her hand, though, brought her back from her revelation. "I will do with my hand as I please." She pouted, although still facing the lake so that he couldn’t see. How dare he try to tell her what to do.

The breeze brought the scent of the cool winter lake to Peach, which solidified her notion as to where he was headed. Even if his next comment was to throw her off his scent she caught onto his little plan. As the lake came into view she could see the situation that she had missed, as it took place, through the trees. Eric was closest, but it looked like he wasn’t alone. He looked inquisitive and not at all distressed like she had expected. Maybe they didn’t really need her. On second though, maybe they do. She could also see her fellow trackers in the background doing god know what. It appeared as if they were dancing in front of some teenager. Why was she here? Peach scowled at the confusing situation before her. Eric talking to the bushes, the other two trackers goofing off, and the star was no where to be seen. The man she’d been following acknowledged nothing of the odd scene unfolding behind Eric. Instead he confronted Eric directly, cutting her down in the process. "How dare you speak of me in that way!" She huffed, exasperated. "I am not just some parcel to be passed around as you please. Nor am I going to stand here and take your slander." Her voice elevated to a point that everyone in the vicinity could hear her.

Immediately after finishing her sentence, Peach reached into her purse, pulled out a can of pepper spray, and turned her body to face the man who she had been following. She then proceeded to point it at him and spray it in his face. She was unsure if it was completely necessary, but his insults were becoming tiresome. After a few of seconds of spraying she stopped, turned on her heels, and ran in Eric's direction. However, the ground got the best of her again and she tripped a few yards away from Eric, landing on her hands and knees. She uttered a couple of curse words at the wound on her hand being re-injured.

Olivia's nerves relaxed at Lance's nonchalant behavior. Apparently she hadn't interrupted anything too serious, otherwise she would have surely been dismissed until later, or so she assumed. She could never tell with them. While she was excellent at remembering faces and names, her people reading skills were seriously lacking. She was never truly sure about a person's behaviors even after getting to know them. The only person she'd ever been remotely able to read had been Xavier, even then she was wrong sometimes. No one was perfect though and Olivia was certainly not without her faults. Her expression softened to that of amusement. Lance seemed to share her own attitude towards the unusually high difficulty assigned to this particular job and she snickered at his off-hand comment. "I think he's just being a little overly dramatic, honestly." She then responded with an equally off-handed reply, discreetly directed towards Lance. "Isn't he always." She smiled briefly at the exchange, her expression defaulting to contented afterward. Watching the two of them together always sparked something inside of her. They reminded her of herself and Xavier, how they knew each other so well, a feeling she hadn't known since the fire. She envied them for still having each other, but she tried to not let it fog her perception or respect of them. They were the leaders of the guild and she would treat them as such. Her two years there had made her comfortable in their presence, though.

Olivia followed Lance with her gaze as he walked back to his desk. She then took a few steps into the office so as not to be standing in the doorway anymore. Lance had opened the door for her so it was an obvious invitation inside. Sigmund took her attention then as he began to speak. Patience was definitely not an issue for her, although she knew what he meant. A long trip would require motivation and a drive to see it through, otherwise one could get bored with it. She had no intentions to just drop the job halfway through. She was going to see it through to the end regardless of the circumstances, because that's simply the way she was. "I agree he is an odd one, although he plays beautifully." She was familiar with the musician that Sigmund was describing as she had seen him around town and often stopped to listen to his music. She always made an effort to drop a few coins for him. Her comment was more of an interjection and wasn't expecting a response of any kind. She was simply voicing her observations. She smiled again at Sigmund stating the probability of his overreaction and dared a glance at Lance. "I am certain that I won't have any issues controlling myself if need be. Although, I cannot speak for Zek'yral. I will do what I can to subdue any unwanted conflicts." Keeping her cool wouldn't be an issue, unless of course either of her soon to be traveling companions made her angry. There were no guarantees in the wake of her anger, except total destruction.

Olivia puzzled over Sigmund's glance beyond her. Was someone else there? He had glanced past her before, but she had pegged it as a minor distraction, but now she was suspicious. She turned to see what he'd looked at to see Zek'yral standing near where she'd been moments earlier and it caused her to jump in her skin. How had she not noticed him there yet. His massive size should have given him away, but, at the same time, he was feline. She considered the amount of grace he would have to have in order to stand so close to her without her taking notice. The height difference was alarming, which was what startled her most. She had known of his stature before now, but she never could get used to it. She placed a hand over her chest to help compose herself and she let out a sigh. "My apologies. I did not know that you had come up behind me." She tried to correct her behavior in hopes that she hadn't offended him. After flashing him an apologetic smile she turned back to Lance and Sigmund. Her brow furrowed in concern as she made an important realization. "I do have some knowledge of healing magic, but I am not as skilled with it as might be necessary for this trip. As far as I know, Zek'yral," she glanced at him briefly for conformation, "does not deal with magic at all. Do you have any recommendations that might would compensate for that?" Her voice earnest with curiosity, her gaze back on the two leaders.

Olivia about face-palmed as she realized how ridiculous her question must have sounded coming from someone who had spent half her life traveling alone. She kept her composure instead and allowed a light blush across her cheeks to express her frustration. Making a scene about it now would be counter-productive to the situation considering Zek'yral had already pitched in his ability with healing herbs. She of course had some experience with herbs from her travels, but she didn't want to steal his thunder on the matter. Besides, she wasn't the boasting type. She turned to listen to him as he spoke with confidence, but pursed her lips as if bracing herself as he leaned against the wall. Surprisingly, the wall held without even a creak. She glanced at Sigmund and Lance nervously, but neither of them appeared concerned in the least. In fact, Sigmund actually looked preoccupied with holding back coughs. She wondered if she had missed something and gave him a momentary quizzical look before turning to smile at Zek'yral's comment. "We'll see about that. I may have to pick up your slack." She chuckled, speaking in a teasing manner. There was no doubt that his size would ward off any unwanted adversaries. On the other hand, they could attract someone looking for a challenge, which would turn the situation ugly real quick. She would hope for the first option, but prepare for the latter since she wanted to get back here in one piece.

After hearing out Lance's response to her concerns she turned her attention to Sigmund who appeared to have recovered from his coughing fit. She pondered what could have been his problem, but didn't linger on the thought too long. She didn't want to miss any important information he might have to offer. His suggestions were valid, although nothing she would not have thought of on her own. She wouldn't tell him that though. She had asked him a question and regardless of whether she knew the answer now, she would hear him out. Once he had finished his mini speech, she smiled lightly at his compliment and spoke confidently. "Thank you for the suggestions and boost of confidence, both of you." She glanced from Sigmund to Lance and back. "I will keep my eyes peeled for any danger that might prove your suspicions of the danger of this task true." Her tone light and a smile on her face. "We will be on our way then, if you have nothing else for us." That last part was more of a question rather than a statement. She wanted to be sure that they were finished with their briefing before just walking out.

She then turned her attention to Zek'yral. "Shall we go?" She walked to the office exit, but paused in the doorway and turned back around. "Oh, do you know where we might find--" she puzzled over the name for a moment before continuing hesitantly, "--Averay? I've seen him around town, but always in different locations." The question was directed to any of the three males to respond to. She held the paper calmly in front of her without fidgeting. She was certainly in no hurry, but she had not considered whether this musician needed them to be quick.

Olivia didn’t turn to look at Zek’yral while he spoke to her, although she did chuckle because of his comment. If only he knew that she was one to sing at random. A cheerful musician who sings often would certainly lift her spirits, but she hoped for all three of their sake that the musician didn’t break into song often if at all. Having an irritated Zek’yral would make the trip very unpleasant since he was her only other traveling companion beside the bard. She then turned briefly to wave a farewell before he departed the guild. "I will see you at the inn shortly then." She smiled brightly at him then turned back to continue towards the clerks’ desk.

The clerk greeted Olivia with a smile as she approached with the job sheet. “I see yoo’ve foond a job that suits yer fanceh,” the red-headed clerk stated with a heavy Irish accent. "Yes, indeed I have." Olivia smiled back at the Irish male clerk. He was a chipper fellow who always had a smile on his face. "We have already spoken with Sigmund and Lance and they have already given my partner and me their approval." She etched her signature at the bottom of the page, wrote the date, and then wrote Zek’yral’s name above her own. He was the higher rank and deserved the initial recognition for the job, not her. They could discuss how to split the money later. A 50/50 split would be just fine for her, but her new partner could very well desire more for his rank, which he rightly deserved. She made a mental note to bring it up with him after they had started their journey. The clerk took the job sheet from her as she handed it to him. He then handed her a rough copy of the job sheet to her, which she rolled up and stuck in her boot. She always requested a copy of the job sheet when she took on work simply for her records during the job. She didn’t want to be caught in any awkward situations with the employer if there was confusion about what was actually posted on the request. Most of the clerks who knew her made sure to hand her a copy without her having to ask since it was such a common occurrence. "Thank you very much, Ronan. Stay well and I will see you when I return." Olivia flashed one more earnest smile at the male clerk. “Yoo too, Miss Alys,” he responded. She turned from him and headed for the front door of the guild.

Olivia didn’t stop to speak with the other hunters. She simply waved farewell to them in passing. Yes, she would be gone for quite a while, but she didn’t like long good-byes. They were uncomfortable for all parties involved and prolonged the inevitable. She tried to avoid them whenever possible and made her good-byes snappy. She hoped her lack of a farewell didn’t offend any of the other hunters. She figured they would approach her or try to catch her if they truly wanted to have a formal farewell. The commotion of other hunters outside the guild caught her attention first as she exited out the front door of the guild. They seemed to be enjoying themselves already even though it appeared they hadn't begun doing their job yet. They must have chosen a low ranking assignment to have the luxury of goofing off. She wasn't surprised by it though, considering which hunters their group consisted of. They were asking for trouble with that combination. It was unfortunate that she wouldn’t be there to see the aftermath of what would come of the situation. On second thought, it would probably be safer for her to not be around when Dogwood snaps. "May the gods have mercy on you all." She muttered under her breath as she passed by them, waving farewell with a smile.

Olivia realized that she had forgotten to stop by the weapons room before leaving the guild and decided she would stop by somewhere in town instead. She only needed a dagger, which she should have already owned anyway, so it wouldn’t be a hassle to have to purchase one for the trip. With her errands noted, she started off to the nearby market.

Miken huffed a warm breath into her gloved hands, rubbing them together vigorously, as a shiver ran over her slender body. The night air, while not near as windy as it was up on top of that building, was chilling her to the bone. She had not been standing in her spot for very long, but standing still was counter-productive to her desire to be warm. Standing seemed to be her only option for the moment. At least until Eric texted her back about his location. Hopefully he wasn't in too much of a predicament. Otherwise she'd have to find him on her own, which would be pointless since she'd probably arrive too late to be of any use. That was worst case scenario, though. There couldn't be that much threat in finding a star, could there? People will do some crazy things nowadays to get what they want. What if some alien-crazed groupies had been looking for the star, too? Miken sighed, exasperated at that thought. Pointing a gun at people like that would be easy. They weren't contributing anything to this world except pointless nonsense and theories. On second thought, they'd probably end up killing themselves in an abandoned military bunker in the middle of the desert, which would be much more amusing. The image brought a pleased smirk to her face. Not shooting them would benefit her in the long run so she'd just intimidate them or something like that.

Bzzt Bzzt The Tracker phone vibrated in her pocket, breaking her thoughts away from suicidal alien-crazies. Her smirk quickly disappeared as well.

[Lake]

Was that really all he was going to tell her? It was plenty of information, sure, but was he already upset with her? She had told him that she was busy and would be there eventually. Maybe he didn't get her text after all. She dreaded the thought and her expression turned grave. "Crap, this is going to be a long night." Miken sighed again. She tucked the phone back into her pocket and zipped it shut. The frosty grass beneath her shoes gave with a crunch as she ran towards a nearby path that led to the lake. She had no idea what to expect when she arrived at the lake. If her assumption was incorrect and he wasn't upset with her, then he was most likely busy. A strange entity making an appearance on earth was unpredictable. She knew from what he'd told her that the last star was human, but who was to say that the next one will look the same. She ran at a steady pace along the pavement as her thoughts raced to come up with a plan for when she arrived on the scene. The path began to curve away from the lake so she cautiously stepped off the pavement. Getting to the lake unannounced would prove difficult, but she could manage. Luckily, she was dressed appropriately for the setting. It worked to her advantage as she padded silently up to the tree line surrounding the lake, opposite of the protectors and Eric, closer to where Thomas and Ryder were fighting with the young girl and man.

Miken arrived just in time to see both Thomas and a young man fall into the lake's edge. She was unsure of what they were doing before hand. All she caught was Ryder spinning Thomas, avoiding the young man's rampage, and Thomas stumbling into the lake. The situation was beyond any scenario she could have come up with. It was down right ridiculous actually. Miken frowned, despite the urge to bust out laughing at what she was seeing. No wonder Eric couldn't text more than one word. He certainly had his hands full with these two buffoons making a fools of themselves and what looked like Peach distracting him from something in the bushes on the other side of the clearing. Miken could identify Peach in a snap. She hated the frilly pink princess with a passion. They'd only met once, but it had been most unpleasant. The brat thought she owned the entire world. Miken scoffed internally at the brat's immaturity. It looked like she was going to have to take control of the situation herself. Whatever Eric was doing in the distance didn't look to be too pressing, nor did he appear to be in danger at the moment. So she turned her attention to the young girl who had been confronting Thomas and Ryder. The young girl had been holding her own extremely well from close range, but distance would be her enemy. Miken would have the advantage as long as she kept her distance. While she didn't have much when it came to strength, if the young girl got too close, Miken could rely on her agility to keep her safe or as a distraction.

Miken focused her gaze on the young girl, taking in everything she possibly could about the girl's position in regards to the other people in the area. It was as if the heaven's had planned it all out because the girl so happened to be at just the right spot from where Miken was standing. She made sure to stay in the shadows so as not to give away the appearance of control and confidence. Drawing her gun slowly would draw too much attention. Her only option was to make it quick. In the blink of an eye she drew her gun with one hand, loaded a round, and shot just to the left of the young girl's face. The bullet flew by so close it could possibly have grazed the girl's cheek, but Miken couldn't tell from this distance the shot had done any physical damage. The bullet ended its course by imbedding itself into the thick trunk of an old Oak tree a few yards from where Eric was occupied by Peach and whatever was behind the bushes. She spoke with confidence and authority, directing her commands to the young girl, since the young man appeared to be preoccupied with not drowning."Put your hands on your head and step aside!" She was still mostly in the shadows, with her gun pointed directly at the young girl. "I won't miss next time if you resist my demands. Now take a seat next to that disfigured tree." Miken used her free hand, while keeping her eyes and gun trained on the girl, to point to an old tree with bulges all up the side of the trunk. The tree was standing alone, away from any bushes or cover that the young girl could escape into. "You two, West and Clarke," directed at Ryder and Thomas, "please take that young man over to the tree as well." She didn't know if they would listen to her, but hopefully they could get over themselves for a moment to help Eric get control of the situation. She also didn't know if they knew who she was, whether because she was hidden or because Eric hadn't said anything to them about her. After Eric requested her to join the Trackers she did an in-depth background check on each existing member. So she knew all of them, down to their favorite brand of underwear and most private secrets.

Peach wasn't expecting anything out of falling, really, but nobody running to her aid was appalling. At least to her it was. She scowled at no one in particular, yet it was directed at everyone around her, which at that moment was Eric, that guy she'd just pepper-sprayed and whoever was in the bushes. She could only assume that whatever was in the bushes were the rest of the people from the group she'd been following earlier, but they could very well be someone else. They were acting pretty suspicious before, so maybe it was them. She glared at the ground as she pushed herself back onto her feet. Her clothes were dirty, yes, but no beyond saving, although she saw them as trash now. She would end up scrapping them later, in hopes that no one else would see her current appearance. "I followed him here because he was with a group of suspicious people. There was an older man with light colored hair, a poorly dressed teenager, and a kid wearing a hoodie with a crowbar." She looked up at Eric, glowering, as she exasperatedly tried to explain her situation. "The rest of the group left--" her explanation was cut off by the ringing of a gun shot. She let out a blood curdling scream in response. Wood splinters scattered from a hole now in a nearby tree where the bullet had imbedded itself.

"What the hell!" Peach protested, shaking where she stood. She was suddenly terrified. Who brought a gun? The voice sounded vaguely familiar, but she couldn't place it. At least it wasn't talking to or about her, not yet anyway. She could only hope that the woman wouldn't bring her into whatever mess was about to take place. Peach ran unsteadily over to where Eric was standing, hoping for whatever protection she could find. He had an obligation to protect her because of her value to his mission, or so she thought. She snapped to look for the guy she'd been following as he addressed the woman on the other side of the clearing. His voice was controlled, despite how she'd pepper sprayed him. How was he already back on his feet? She looked down at the pepper spray bottle in her hand to check the expiration date, but it wasn't expired. "Maybe I missed."

Out of the corner of her eye Peach noticed movement behind the bushes. She had forgotten about how Eric was talking to someone in the bushes a moment earlier. Her eyes widened when she saw the four of them, the man, the teenager, the hooded boy, and another girl she didn't recognize. She spoke up immediately, her voice not in the least bit quiet. "Wait a minute, you're that group from before." She glanced over the four of them and then let her gaze linger on the girl she didn't recognize. The girl looked very much like a star, as Eric had described to her. The white hair was a dead giveaway to Peach. That girl must be the star they were looking for, but how were they going to get her? Eric didn't seem to have much of a plan other than being nice to them. The fact that the three younger people hadn't moved away from that horridly creepy, older man with the red eyes meant that for some reason they trusted him. She narrowed her eyes at the older man, not trusting him at all. She knew that this group was with the man she'd followed, so that meant that them, the man, and the two being ordered against a tree by that woman on the other side of the clearing were all in cahoots with each other. She turned to look in the direction of the guy she'd followed, her eyes narrowed. "You think you're so clever don't you. Why don't you just go to hell." That man was completely immune to her charm and for that she hated him. Not that her appearance was helping any, though.

Olivia loved the hustle and bustle of the markets in Tirol. They were always alive with traders, townsfolk, artists and musicians. The sights of rich and vibrant colors, people and creatures of all shapes and sizes from every walk of life in harmony with each other. She interacted with everyone she knew, gave welcoming smiles to those she didn't recognize, and humored the most boisterous of vendors with her attention. She tried not to linger too long at any one stall for sake of time. Zek'yral and Gavin were sure to be waiting for her soon or already if the musician was in a hurry. A weapons vendor she knew to be trustworthy had already sold her a dagger for her travels. The small weapon had a three inch hilt and a six inch blade that was smooth at the tip, serrated on the middle, and toothed backwards the couple inches up to the hilt. The hilt had a metal core lined with jade carved in the design of a Japanese style dragon with two ruby eyes. She bought a sheath and straps with it to fasten it securely to her right thigh. The dagger was formidable, but light enough to carry easily around her leg without worry of losing it. Since the weapon had been purchased all she needed to do now was see an herb vendor and then pick up some food.

Olivia had foregone many herbal stalls since she'd ventured into the market because none of them had been selling the herb she was looking for. She could manage having to scavenge for healing remedies and food on her upcoming travels, but this specific herb was hard to come by. It didn't grow wild around this area, nor many other areas that she knew of. It had been abundant in her hometown, though. She hurried over to a large remedy stall now to see if the herb in question was available. To her surprise the vendor actually did have it for sale, but it was only a small amount. Enough for only a few uses. If she was lucky, they would get to the Capital without running out, then she would stock up there. The vendor, a middle-aged partially grey-haired man, approached her from inside the stall. "You know those herbs are dominant up north. I brought them from the capital, you see. That's the last of my current stock, but I'll be traveling up north here soon to replenish some of my supplies." He scratched his greying beard thoughtfully. "If only I could wait that long. I'm about to leave town for a lengthy journey, but if I don't have this herb then I'll be in serious trouble. How much for that last bundle there?" Olivia smiled attentively at him, listening to his gruff voiced banter. "Tell you what, I was going to sell this for a hefty price, but I'll sell it to you for half that price. How about that?" Olivia made it look like she was pondering his proposal and then smiled brightly. "You drive a hard bargain, but I'll take it." She dropped a few silver coins onto the man's palm and received the small bundle of herbs in return. "Have a splendid day miss and may your travels be blessed." The man smiled at Olivia before turning to assist other more lively customers. The price she'd paid for the herbs was slightly more than she normally would have paid, but considering he was the only vendor who had them and it was his last bundle, she didn't mind paying the extra silver. The herbs were vitally important to her as well.

Olivia made way to a couple of food stalls to pick up a loaf of bread, a small block of cheese, a small bunch of grapes and a cheap cloth knapsack to fasten to her waist. She carefully ate a piece of bread and cheese and then put the rest of the food into the knapsack along with the herbs she'd purchased. It was time to make her way to the Marigold Inn now to catch up with Zek'yral and Gavin. She weaved through the crowd to the outskirts of the market. The alley ways would provide a much quicker route as opposed to the main road since she had to back track the way she came. Going back through the market at this time of day would only slow her down greatly. While the alleys weren't as busy as the main roads, they were still lively. During the daytime the alleys were an excellent choice for those in a hurry, but once darkness hit for the day the alleys were not to be trusted. They were filled with criminals, creeps, and downright scary people. No self-respecting woman, or person for that matter, would go trudging down the alleys at night. As she rounded the corner onto the street that the Inn was located, she instantly saw Zek'yral. He was a couple blocks away, but his height and species made him stick out in the crowd a bit. He was certainly not the only unusual creature, but he was one of the few. She could tell he was already accompanied by Gavin. She could not, however figure out who Gavin was until she had gotten much closer to the two of them. Her male companions were a sight to see. Gavin was a looker. Even though he was wearing what seemed to her as an excessive amount of clothing for the weather, she found herself quite attracted to his physical appearance. Only time would tell whether his personality was attractive. She looked them both over once before approaching her two traveling companions. "You two look like you're already prepared for the journey." She had overheard Gavin's comment about walking as she'd approached and felt a need to counter it. She chuckled a bit before continuing. "A little extra walking would certainly be nice if this trip was in town, but I think we'll be doing plenty of walking over the next few days." She smiled earnestly at Gavin and held out her hand in greeting. "Hi, my name is Olivia Alys and I am the other hunter who will be escorting you to your destination." Olivia turned to Zek'yral to smile in greeting, but spoke to Gavin. "I hope my new partner hasn't given you any trouble." She commented jokingly in hopes to lighten the mood.

                  ◈ Challow, while extremely passionate about painting of every kind, is very indifferent towards Pokemon. She is actually a very sociable, agreeable, and outgoing person. Listening is one of her better qualities as she spends a lot of time in silence with only the ambiance of her surroundings to keep her company. When not in a somber, artistic mood she is cheerful, willing to interact with people she's never met as if she'd known them her entire life. She tries to be witty when possible, but she doesn't know whether she's successful at it or not. She gets pissed off easily when dealing with people or things that she dislikes, such as: people who don't appreciate art, generally pissy people, and candy canes(only the traditional mint flavored ones). While her temper can be short, she doesn't stay angry for very long either because she forgets that she's angry or because she doesn't feel like being upset anymore. She can be very methodical about how she does certain tasks and activities. She also pays very close attention to detail, remembering even the slightest nuance about a person or situation. This stems from her skills as an artist since detail is of utmost importance.

              »--- History

                  ◈ Challow grew up in a small home with only her mother. They weren't poor in the least, with her mother bringing in plenty of money from the portraits of Pokemon that she painted almost constantly. Her mother raised her on the arts allowing Challow to freely choose her hobbies, friends, and lifestyle. Challow never had much of a desire to become a Pokemon trainer or anything that really involved working with pokemon until the day she turned ten and her mother finally forced something upon her. They lived with a Smeargle that would assist her mother with more difficult pieces of artwork and would even create it's own artwork on occasion. Her mother swore up and down that on Challow's tenth birthday she would give the Smeargle to Challow as her first Pokemon. She didn't think much of her mother's rantings, but once she was pushed out the front door with nothing but a sketch pad and some art supplies by the person who had raised her, the only thing she could rely on was Smeargle. Challow has mixed feelings about her mother nowadays. She's convinced herself that her mother was just trying to show love in some way, but in the back of her mind she knows her mother had washed her hands of her daughter long ago.
                  ++Challow isn't your usual trainer, while she has a strong bond with Smeargle because of common interest and necessity, she's indifferent about Pokemon in general. Regardless of her indifference, she feels she has almost perfected her training methods and has equipped her Pokemon to be ready for anything that another trainer or Pokemon might dish out. She is also completely content with her team and doesn't plan on catching anything more. Being well acquainted with the people who worked at the docks of her hometown, Vermillion City, she was able to get free rides on the transport ships whenever she needed, or wanted. This being said, she was able to travel to several different regions in order to broaden her horizons. She's infatuated with details and landscapes and being able to see many different areas helped to improve her art over the years as well as her Pokemon team.
                  ++Challow, after recently coming back to the Kanto Region from Unova for the second time, was out traveling, to paint the glorious landscapes of her home region, when the virus began its rapid spread. She'd been zoned into a painting of a peaceful lily pond deep into the Viridian Forest. A buzzing noise, getting louder and louder, drew her out of concentration, putting her in a fowl mood immediately. It was an unusually heavy sound, but the source was unmistakable. A swarm of enraged, virus infected Beedrills were headed her way. She scrambled to close paint tubes, wipe her paint palette clean, and put everything away into her over-the-shoulder bag. The painting would have to be abandoned and it pained her to have to say good-bye to an unfinished piece, but hopefully someone someday would come across it, or maybe she could come back to it. The painting was the least of her worries now, though, as the enraged Beedrills came into sight. She called out her strongest Pokemon to try and fight them off as they ran for a way out of the forest. Eventually, several poisonous nicks and stings later they made it out of the forest alive, astoundingly. So, finding it unsafe to go back north she continued south towards Pallet town, hoping that there would be no more encounters like that again. To her dismay, there were several more encounters like the Beedrill and she slowly learned more about the virus from passing other travelers and victims. When she arrived in Viridian she received many venomous glances from those who were beginning to despise trainers. Feeling unwelcome and still unsafe she stopped only to rest a night and to heal her Pokemon before continuing onto route one in search of safety.

Where I'm at:: Heading to Zek'yral's home
Who I'm with::Zek'yral and Gavin
Current Job::Escorting a Musician
[[ Rank::8 - Employer::Gavin Averay - Group Size::2 ]]

________________________________________

Olivia's smile lessened when Zek'yral mentioned having heard Gavin's singing. "It's a shame that I wasn't here earlier." She dropped her shoulders in disappointment. "I would have loved to hear you sing." She shrugged and then straightened her posture. Gavin held himself quite well for a musician. He must be a proud person, but she imagined a traveling artist would have to have an abundance of courage and pride in order to make a living. He didn't appear to own very much, which would prove beneficial to their journey. A light traveler could leave an area on a moment's notice, but a traveler who carried too much was a hindrance. Luckily, their employer was a light traveler. "You know, I like to sing." She blushed a little and chuckled. "I'll let you decide whether or not I sing well, though. Since you are the musician here." She wouldn't sing unless he said anything about wanting to hear her voice. Zek'yral had already stated his disdain for impromptu singing and starting out their journey by annoying her new partner would only be, well, annoying.

Olivia followed after her two male companions, agreeing that they needed to get moving. They would be wasting time just standing around. She walked slightly behind Gavin's left side "I actually wouldn't mind if it started raining." She mused in response to Gavin's comment about making it to the forest before it started raining. Rain was one of her favorite types of weather. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating. The thought of rain got her so jittery and excited that a pair of white wolf ears sprouted from the top of her head along with a pair of fangs from her canine teeth, but only for a couple of seconds before disappearing again. She attempted to compose herself. Letting herself get distracted like that would only drain her energy uselessly. She was still pleased with the thought of rain, but she filled her mind with thoughts of less exciting things. "It is lovely isn't it? The abundance of nature is so much like my hometown was. This may be a city, but the greenery makes it seem like a forest." She looked around at the different plant life in the area. It truly was amazing that this place was so lush. She'd seen many places during her travels to know that not every city and town was this abundant in almost everything. Tironians were luckier than they knew.

"I don't mind stopping by your place. You waited while I took care of what I had to do so it wouldn't be right of me to refuse you that same generosity." She smiled brightly at no one in particular, but her comment was obviously directed to Zek'yral. She didn't know what to expect of his home. His stature was massive so his home must accommodate for that, right? She would probably laugh if his home was smaller than he was. Olivia blushed at Gavin's question. She didn't know if she should answer the question honestly or make something so she decided on something in between. "Well, I've been due for a trip to the capital as of late." She scratched her head and looked at anything but Zek'yral and Gavin. "Plus, I take my job seriously and goofing off with the others, while amusing, is what I consider slacking." At that she looked at both of them as she spoke, looking them in the eye if they happened to look at her at that moment. She was still smiling, but her excitement had turned to pride for her work ethic. Gavin seemed like a genuine guy so maybe this trip wouldn't be too bad. She looked Gavin over once more just because she was bored. She popped a grape into her mouth then as well. "Would either of you like a grape?"

____________________________________________________________________

"An artist is a dreamer consenting to dream of the actual world."
____________________________________________________________________

Location::A few yards from Maple's group's camp--Companion(s)::Nobody

++The people of Viridian City hadn't been welcoming in the least to the young artist and her Pokemon. Their aggravated attitudes towards trainers in general had come about so quickly that it had taken Challow by surprise. Traveling down from the Viridian Forest, while littered with infected Pokemon, had only produced other trainers. The city had been her first interaction with non-trainers since the infection had started its rapid spread. The experience had been unpleasant, to say the least. When she first entered the city nobody knew that she was a trainer and they greeted her with open arms, musing about how she would be okay and that everything would be alright if she stayed in the city. Because she was a lone traveler many people weren't surprised when she stated a need to go to the Pokemon Center. It was a safe haven for travelers, providing a place to sleep and a roof over their heads along with minimal, yet adequate, food services. Upon arriving at the Pokemon Center things changed rather quickly. Because of the several infected Pokemon she had encountered en route to Viridian some of her own Pokemon were severely exhausted and in need of medical attention. Her indifference towards Pokemon only extended to wild ones, but when it came to her own she protected and cared for them with every fiber of her being. She immediately went to find Nurse Joy and that's when the rumors started. New spread fast when people thought it was important enough and this news spread before Challow could have any say in it. She spent the night at the Pokemon Center, not able to eat anything more than a snack because of stress. What if one of her Pokemon didn't make it after everything they'd been through, she cried most of the night on the torn mattress that had been provided for her. The hospital had not been missed when the Eclipsed Pokemon had done their damage. The building was in disrepair, but it was better than other buildings since it was still standing.
++The next day, Challow picked up her Pokemon from the nurse and then headed off to the Poke'mart or any store for that matter that would sell her some supplies. As soon as she left the building it was apparent that the welcoming attitude she'd received the day before had disappeared. Although she didn't know why. Jolli, her female Joltik, and Danii, her male Tropius were out of their Poke'balls to get fresh air, which she later found out was a terrible idea. Every so often a rock or some form of projectile would come flying in their direction. The more adamant city folk would yell obscenities at her, telling her and her monsters to leave. The more quiet citizens would simply close their doors and windows when they saw her approaching. Eventually she had Tropius return to his ball to keep him from becoming seriously injured by some enraged civilians. About the time she was about to give up her search for supplies a disgruntled looking store clerk waved her over into his store. While he didn't appear at all pleased by what he was doing, he was generous to let her buy some much needed healing potions, status correctors, and repels, along with a bit of food. As Challow paid, the clerk looked her straight in the eye and told her to get out of town before something bad were to happen to her or her Pokemon. His warning was well heeded and she decided to leave the next morning. She stayed another night in the Pokemon Center to arrange her bag appropriately for travel with her new supplies and to give her Pokemon some more rest before possibly throwing them into more battles. The next morning had proven to be the same as the previous one, filled with grimaces, rock throwing, and shouts of hatred. Her exit of Viridian City was actually more pleasant than she had expected. Some people at the blockades had expressions full of pity for her. Leaving the protection of the City was almost like a death sentence to those who were just starting out and those who didn't have any form of protection. Even an experienced trainer could be caught off guard, though.
++Challow spent most of the day sitting under a tree, as close as she could to Viridian, near the entrance to the forest that had grown on route one. She had Danii out to protect her if any Pokemon decided to attack, but hopefully this close to the city there wouldn't be too many appearances. She played little games with Jolli, laughing when the little tick Pokemon nibbled on her skin. The sensation was like a tickle to Challow. To anyone that Jolli didn't know it would be more of a bite. Jolli had to protect herself in anyway possible since she was only slightly bigger than the tip of a finger. As the sun was setting she called Danii over from the tree he was nibbling on so that they could leave the area. They'd been lucky not to have any issues thus far after leaving the city, but there was no point in sitting around wasting time. What was a trainer supposed to do in a time like this? Since the virus was here, it was bound to have spread to other places, right? And if people were just as paranoid here, then that means they would be the same in other areas. Was it still an attainable goal to try to get badges and beat the Elite Four? Did any of that even matter anymore? All of these thoughts were racing through her mind all at the same time. Not that she was going after badges. She only had three of them and they were all from different regions. Her goal was not to be the best Pokemon trainer, but to be a famous artist. She wanted her paintings to decorate the walls of people's homes across the globe, to be brought up during informed conversation as being visionary and intricate. So, whether or not trainers could get badges didn't concern her. She did worry about other trainers, especially beginning trainers. If there was no more motivation or methods to become the best trainer, then people would probably stop becoming trainers less and less.
++She and Danii walked through the forest quietly. Danii looked around curiously at anything that moved or made a noise. He would turn to look at one thing, but before she knew it he was looking at something else. Apparently, nothing in the area was interesting enough to keep his attention for very long. He would make whooping sounds everyone so often if something would strike his interest enough. It sounded similar to a monkey's high pitched whoop. "Danii, try not to make too much noise alright?" He whooped at her happily in agreement. "You're such a goober." She reached up to scratch him under his chin and he cooed as she did so. The Tropius stood at over six and a half feet tall to Challow's mere five foot and one inch. His stature was sure to scare off any cowardly low level Pokemon in the area, but his personality was anything but intimidating. Jolli was asleep behind her ear, which was rather troublesome. It meant that she would be rambunctious later instead of sleeping when Challow did. Jolli was just like a young child.
++They had been walking for a while now and the forest was alive with the sounds from creatures of the night. Challow was used to it after having traveled on her own for several years. The dark didn't unnerve her, on the other hand, some of the noises did. She walked as close as she could to Danii in order to calm her nerves. Up ahead she noticed an orange glow through the tree line, but as soon as she noticed it, it disappeared. It had been quite a distance away. She could think of no solid explanation for it other than it being a fire Pokemon or an actual fire. There were other travelers north of Viridian so it was reasonable that there would travelers south of the city. Being with other travelers sounded much more comforting than spending the night by herself. Even with her Pokemon there to protect her she would feel safer with more people around. She continued walking towards where she had seen the orange glow before. She had Danii stay behind a bit so he didn't draw any attention to her. It appeared as if there had been a campfire there before so they were probably going to sleep. It was late after all. She only saw two people, along with a couple of Pokemon, sitting around the doused fire, a blonde boy, a Charmander, a dark haired boy, and an Eevee. She didn't want to disturb them at this time of night so she went back to where she'd left Danii and started to get ready for sleep. Danii laid down next to some bushes so that Challow could curl up next to him. He then laid his head down with his neck cradling his trainer up next his body. The both of them and Jolli fell into a light dream filled slumber only a few yards from where she'd seen those boys around the doused campfire.

Olivia puzzled over what he meant by extra tools. He had tapped his sword so maybe he was getting more weapons, but how could he carry anything else? To her it looked like he had plenty as it was. Of course, his stature was the complete opposite of hers. What she would consider excessively heavy he would probably consider as light as a feather. This was her assumption, though. She relied mainly on her supportive magic and transformation skills, which meant that weapons were almost unnecessary. Increasing her stats through magic was one way she avoided having to use healing magic. Simply increasing her offensive and defensive power gave her the upper hand in a battle. There were other ways to ensure a victory as well, but those methods were used when certain circumstances called for it, such as needing speed or more acute vision. She nodded to the guards at the gates in passing, acknowledging both of them since they were good acquaintances of hers. After returning a smile from the second guard she turned her attention to Gavin. "I wouldn't say that I've been there before, but I have seen it from outside its walls. I know the surrounding area quite well indeed." She smiled, reminiscing on old memories of scavenging outside Martel with Xavier. Her smile disappeared then, turning into an expression of displeasure. She wouldn't allow herself to cry in front of these two men, though. Tears were a perfectly natural part of life, but neither man had earned her confidence. Thus, she didn't even allow a tremble in her voice to surface, although the frown did remain.

Olivia couldn't deny Gavin the grape she had offered up simply because of a loss of interest in the situation. She plopped one of the purple grapes into her own mouth before holding out a grape for Gavin. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Many animals cannot handle fruit so naturally a feline like yourself would handle them similarly." Olivia looked off in the distance, pondering. "I once consumed an entire bowl of assorted fruit once, as a canine I mean, not knowing that there would be consequences. The two days following, I suffered heavily." She huffed in an attempt to keep herself from laughing outright. "Never again will I consume fruit while in a carnivore's form." The memory was enough to subdue her frown and brought a pleasant expression to her face. While originally the fruit comment was directed to Zek'yral, it ended with her looking at no one at all and using her hands expressively. By the time, Olivia had finished her story, they had arrived at what was unmistakably Zek'yral's home. The sight of it made her jaw drop. Gavin took the words right out of her mouth, though, he said it a lot more calmly than she would have. She had expected a grass hut of some sort, but not this, definitely not a tree house. Words escaped her. He even appeared completely at home with, too, which was expected. Why would anyone live in a place they weren't comfortable in? She didn't want to appear rude so she kept her comments to herself and watched as the Narsian climbed his tree.

"You know, I'm not much of a singer, I prefer entertaining solely with my other instruments." At least they wouldn't have to worry about random bouts of singing from Gavin. So, Zek'yral might be glad to know that his concerns were unnecessary. Although, Olivia's singing and Gavin's instrumentals could prove to be just as annoying. Gavin appeared to be earnestly curious in her singing voice at this point. Maybe she had stricken a common interest between the two of them. "S--" She forced a smile as memories of Xavier came rushing back to her. "Someone once told me that I sound like an angel when I sing, but I'm sure they were just trying to be nice." She turned her face so that Gavin would not see the light blush on her cheeks, not from anything he said, only from the memory of her beloved. She hoped Gavin would not perceive it as anything except modesty. "There is one song that I absolutely adore, though. I will surely sing it for you sometime if you wish." The sound of Zek'yral up in his tree house drew her attention for a moment. He had said he'd visited the capital before, right? The capital must be magnificent, full of life, just like Tirol, definitely not with fauna, but with a variety of creatures and people she could only dream of. The multitudes leaving and arriving at Martel were indicative enough of the diversity a large city like the capital draws in. Turning back to Gavin, Olivia cupped her hands together behind herself in a resting stance. He'd basically already told her that he wanted to hear her voice, but he did not request it at this moment. Maybe singing it now would be a bad idea. She was so unsure about what to do.

Instead of waiting around any longer she decided to start singing. The song she sang was symbolic of her hopes and dreams for the future, not that she would tell Gavin that. It was personal, but it was the only song she could think of on the spot. As she sang she gazed up at the cloudy sky wishing it to rain down, to cry in her stead. A smile grew across her face as the song progressed and when it she was done a single tear rolled down her cheek. Immediately, she wiped away the tear and turned away from Gavin. "I-I'm so sorry! I was uncertain of whether you wanted me to sing now. So I became nervous." The blush returned, caused by embarrassment this time. "I'm sure that was terrible." Her brow furrowed in disappointment with herself.
