I am twenty-two, I've been under the big top for two or three years now. My job here is to stun the crowd with gut wrenching feats with knives, swords, and whatever else I can happen to get my hands on. It may not be perfect, but hey, it's a living. Let's see, if I could describe myself in one word, it would be resourceful, because I will add in just about anything to spice up my act. If you must know, I go for men and women, we all need love, but keep that to yourself. What? Not satisfied yet? Well, I can tell you a little more about myself...


. . . hello, enjoying the show? Sorry, I’m not much of a talker but I suppose I could find some way to entertain you for the time being. Hmm… you want to know what brought me to this circus? Many things, but I bet you’re looking for something a little more specific huh? Guess you don’t really know me, but I didn’t always have this disposition. Before I got here I was nothing more than a criminal trying to get by, an adrenaline junkie who had yet to fall. It was in my blood, someday’s I feel that I was cursed from the start. My dad was a mugger and from what I gathered my mother was a bit of a black widow. Can’t say this is a fact, never really had any proof that she was actually behind any of it, but you have to admit the way men kicked the bucket in our house was down right suspicious. That being said there was no surprise when father died, but don’t despair another always took the formers place.

I can say this fact though, the various men that walked in and dropped out of my life taught me about many things. Seems mother had a taste for criminals. Yes, from pick pocketing to breaking locks to, my personal favorite, knives, my knowledge of what some would call undesirable things became kind an almost obsession for me. It eventually opened door to a part of myself I never knew existed. The risk vs reward of each escapade, the sheer adrenaline one experiences from doing dangerous things, it was no wonder that this behavior only continued to flourish. Though nothing good ever lasts forever, eventually I grew bored with petty thefts and break ins and moved up to those of higher class. Even went after some of the bigger criminals than, well, myself, but you know, its funny, none of that can even compare to one of the most dangerous things I had ever done.

I got arrogant with the progress of my skill; so cocky that I thought I could take anything I wanted and get away with it… even when it came to other people. Before you go making assumptions, it was her idea in the first place. Hell, looking back now I can see why, every man with a brain in his head knew better than to get around that woman. A one-time deal turned into ‘something’ I can’t quite define, not quite a relationship because really… it just felt like we were using one another for some alternative mean. Though, at least that’s what it felt like to me. I think I would like to keep my privacy and dignity in tact and skip ahead to the end. It’s true what they say about our decisions do indeed define us. On one particular night I decided that I wanted out of our whatever you would call it and decided to ransack the house. Why not, you know? So I did, but while doing so I stumbled onto a secret I should not have known.

My luck took a tumble that not even my skill could save. For the first time I came face to face with her old man, funny how windows let you avoid such awkward situations. Seemed he had a ‘guests’ over that evening. One was a man who was tied to a chair, gagged and bloodied, and a notable public figure to boot and the other. My intrusion was not taken lightly and he had to ensure I kept my mouth shut… though it seemed he did the opposite. You keep looking at my bandanna… have you put the pieces together? Have you noticed my ‘unique’ accent? Sorry, I won’t allow any peeking, already have enough people who know about my butchered looks, but I will tell you this though: the man might have been as strong as an ox but he was about as dumb as one too. Sure he got part of my tongue, but not enough to prevent me from what I’m doing now. Dumbass even tossed me outside thinking I would honestly lie there and bleed to death. Pfft, I did say I was resourceful did I not?

I obviously survived the ordeal, but I was presented with a new set of challenges. The run in with Mr. Hack and Slash left my mug in pretty rough condition; to do anything I loved before would be damn near impossible… I would draw too much attention. I knew I had to get out of this town, but where could I even go where the same problem wouldn’t keep getting in the way? I spent almost a month trying to figure this out before the solution appeared. By the time I had caught word of the circus’ arrival it had already been in town for a day or so. I thought the idea was stupid at first, but eventually I talked myself into the thought that maybe they needed an extra set of hands to help out. The people of the circus are kinder than I had thought though, not only was I allowed on board but I was even offered the chance to learn an act. Even after my bad experience with a knife, I still held a fascination to the bladed weapon so it felt only natural to take it a step further and take up a sword. I practiced and practiced until I could finally perform.

The circus has completely changed my life in a number of ways, certainly found a way to control my adrenaline addiction. Now that I have an act, I have reasons to practice and improve my skills with increasingly dangerous things. When I’m not doing that well… I found I enjoy a nice nap. Batteries need a chance to recharge every now and then you know, I’m only human. Yeah, between you and me, my talent is natural. Darwin offered me a wish you see, but I have yet to take him up on his offer. It’s not every day you’re offered something so extraordinary, you know, and from I have come to learn from my few years in the circus is that man wouldn’t lie about something like this. I want to make my wish count. Hmm, seems like you really got me talkin’… too bad for you. Don’t worry though; I’m not like the guy I told you about. Nah, I don’t make the same sloppy mistakes…/color]

I look to be fourteen, I've been under the big top for six years now. My job here is to perform as a beast and help out where ever I am needed It may not be perfect, but hey, it's a living. Let's see, if I could describe myself in one word, it would be curious, because I want to know about everything...and I guess I kind of stick my nose where it doesn't belong... sometimes. If you must know, I go for girls... I guess, not really something I think about, but keep that to yourself. What? Not satisfied yet? Well, I can tell you a little more about myself...


You want to know about me!? Well… if you share a bit of your cotton candy I suppose I could tell you a little about myself. My mum had always told me that my sister and I had been born in the spring. We were a small family, but we were also very happy. My sister and I loved to play and explore, even if it sometimes got us into trouble. Mum would always bring us back such yummy things to eat too like fish and berries, but to be honest my sister and I really loved to eat whatever insects we could find crawling about in our cave… huh, what was that? Oh, I’m sorry, I should have mentioned that before I arrived at the circus I was unable to shape shift. I am actually a bear you see, a grizzly one. Anyways, I guess you could say I lived the average cub life… until I was separated from my mother and sister. A male bear attacked us one day while we were playing outside. I have no idea what happened to mum, but from the way my sister looked, I think- I know she’s… dead. I was alone for a long time after that, or at least it felt like a long time, mostly wandering about trying to stay out of sight.

It was the weirdest thing when I stumbled across the circus, it had been some time since the attack and I was beyond desperate for something to eat. The bright lights, unusual smells, and the colored tents, I had never seen anything like it before! At the time I had thought that my curiosity and hunger were what made me finally venture on to the grounds, but now… I think it was because of something else. Like something I couldn’t see was pulling me in and I was just too young to notice it. After digging through some trash cans (SHUT UP! There was some tasty stuff in there!) I began to explore more of this wonderland. It wasn’t long before I came across something truly astonishing, a golden creature walking on all fours like I was. I didn’t know what a lioness was and I didn’t know all that she was capable of, but that really didn’t stop me from going over to her. It’s amazing what a small hello can do, if I hadn’t I might not have met Ariel and I definitely wouldn’t be talking to you right now that’s for sure… you’d probably be running!

One thing lead to another and before I knew it I had a new home, a new family. I can’t even begin to tell you how much that alone meant to me… b-but that’s not all! I learned all sorts of new things, like the performances and the way the circus ran, most importantly discovered something truly amazing. Before you call me a dumby, I was still a cub at the time. I mean, I had noticed Ariel had been able to change to all sorts of forms but there was one of her forms that really caught my attention. She could be a human. She could talk just like them and walk just like them… she could truly be part of the family and not just… an animal. I mean, they didn’t stick me in a cage or lock me up or anything like that, but it’s hard to reply to someone who says something to you because… you know, you’re a bear. Darwin changed that for me though, I had been at the circus for a handful of seasons and he said that he could make one wish come true. I know what you’re thinking because I thought the same thing too, but why he asked or how he knew doesn’t really matter to me. I wished to be able to change into a human the way Ariel could and it came true.

I could now be a human just like everyone else and still shift back to my natural form when I wanted to. My wish seems to have done something to the way I age as a bear though… it’s all very confusing, but it’s nothing that really weighs on my mind. I have to admit being a human is a lot harder than I thought it would be. There were a ton of things that I had to learn, but that’s what family is for. They helped me get to where I am today. I even picked up a full name along the way for my less furry form, but I still really prefer to go by the name my mum gave me.

Oh, seems you’re all out of sweets. That’s all you’ll get out of me, but really did you honestly believe any of what I just told you? I’m only a kid after all; you know how we’re always making up silly stories…
