In Wonderland rats are kind of discriminated. Pierce never really got a proper education ( Boris even comments "there is no such thing as a smart rat" ) and can act really stupid at times. He's really weak and scared, but that's mainly because everyone picks on the poor guy. So when you're nice to him he becomes really sweet and attached. He's cute and he's always making "chu" noises. One odd thing about him is that he always tries to kiss his friends on the lips (friends include Alice and partly Elliot). He just wants to be loved and not bullied by everyone. He has a "making small liquid" that turns people into the size of a mouse. He can also turn to that size at will. He needs that liquid so he can invite Alice into his home. He lives in a bark of a tree, and all his furniture is adorably small. Despite being the most innocent character, he has the most disgusting job: he picks off the bodies of Mafia victims and disposes of them. So he's part of the mafia and is "the cleaner". Cruelty Depends on your definition of cruel. If to you, cruel is chasing a poor guy for extensive periods of time while holding a fork and knife, plus making maniacal sounds, then yes, Boris is cruel. Almost everybody is cruel to him, then. If your definition of cruel includes physical injury, than no, none of them are cruel (although that may be because Pierce always manages to run away somehow). Pierce likes rabbits, but since Peter is cruel to everybody but Alice, he only gets along with Elliot. If you're nice to him he gets too attached to you, hence why he runs up to Elliot when he see him. That combined with the nickname he gave Elliot, "Elli-chan", makes Elliot a bit annoyed when Pierce appears like that. He's still nice to him, though. Nightmare also doesn't mind him too much. Everybody else is mean to him. Judging by some Joker pictures, it seems Gowland may be nice to him too.
