Well I once was called Samantha Austin Salinas, but now my alias is Samuel Austin Salinas. September 19 is presents day, and so far I've had 16 of those days.

I'm an individual, I tell you, because the one word that describes me is: theatrical. Well not in an annoying over dramatic sense. I am a born actress. Hell, I was born on the stage, quite literally. Not many people actually know known me. Being the aspiring actress I am, I need a lot of practice! I'm always looking for new challenges to act! The me that isn't a character is very optimistic! I'm never put down! That type of out look on life gets very useful in the career I'm headed for. There are a LOT of disappointments in the acting career. Other than being optimistic there's not much else to me. I'm happy when things are good and sad when things are bad. My mind is incredible and has an amazing memory. It proves useful when acting. I'm thinking about making my male counter part that fun loving guy that doesn't have a care in the world. Though a lot of it depends on who my roomie is. I need to come up with a tragic past for him though... I get very into my roles. I enjoy making my characters real people with emotions different than my own and pasts completely ridiculous. The challenge is ever so entertaining. I'm also a quick learner. I need to be so I can better be the character I'm trying to portray. I have quite a few handy skills under my belt from my different characters. Though they never do seem to help with the fact I'm accident prone. I guess Fate has it out for me since I just don't be myself. Oh well! One thing I know for sure is that my death will be accidental and very dramatic!

Life hasn't always been a jar of peaches for me, let me tell you. I wasn't kidding when I said I was born on the stage. Mom 'n Dad are both actors (runs in the blood) and Mom was helping Dad rehearse for a play. She suddenly went into labor while they were rehearsing and blam! Out I popped! I absolutely love hearing that story! We move around a lot. Dad is in theater while Mom is in cinema. They never really were around much for me, but what did I care? I was out making a name for myself! I've yet to make a big name, but hey! I have a long life ahead of me! I've guest starred in a couple TV shows and was actually suckered into modeling for a bit. Gawd, was that ever a waste of time. Though acting like a stuffy model proved to be fun. Since I moved around a lot I got lots of practice with pretending to be tons of different types of girls. Though, I was never able to be a guy. So obviously I just HAD to sign up for this contest when I saw it. The money is just a bonus. Acting a male... That's the largest challenge ever presented to me! Mom an' Dad are all smiles believe it or not. They thought it would be a wonderful acting experience for me. Actor parents for ya. Gotta love them.

I've got to say, they keep me going. Acting~Challenges~Make Up~Clothing~Pretty Boys~Movies of ALL kinds~Books~Fulfilling Curiosity(Meaning getting into things I shouldn't)~Music~Painting~Nature~Creating weird food combinations~'Suicide' Drinks (You know putting pretty much everything on the soda fountain in your drink)~People in general(They are all very interesting)~Observing~Learning

But these I could live without, definitely. Meals without any type of modification~Easy things~Not having enough materials to look a part~When the 'rents start trying to get into things~Not having a character to play~Missing a meal~Crappy acting~Bad liars~People who act just for money~Stuck up people .

Finally, the things that just don't sit well with me. Loosing memory(It is going to happen one day through some accident)~Not being able to overcome a challenge~Not even being able to take on a challenge

Samantha has been locked away.
Samuel has been let out to play.
So that leaves Sam, wondering if this is okay.

Sam stared at the people in the limo and fiddled with the necklace around her neck. The first half of the limo ride, she'd dozed and thought over the plans she'd made for Samuel. Of all the things she had in mind for him, only a select few would be able to be put into action. It was tough picking out traits for her characters. She wanted to use everything, but that just wouldn't work sadly...

But, Sam was experienced with creating a new self and had a basic mold for Samuel played out in her mind. He was going to be an optimistic artist. He would be the type to paint or sculpt his feelings as well as how people seem to him. He'd be the type to lie to himself to make something bad seem good. He was going to be outgoing and friendly. Yes, he was going to be fun to play. Just what did guys talk about anyways?

A lot of the girls in the limo made really ugly guys. They didn't sit like a guy or try to give off a masculine air... It was pathetic and an insult to the challenge they had been given! Sam hoped those idiots would be figured out and thrown out very early in the contest... Though, there were also a few that made great guys, like Sam did.

Two of them were sitting across and next to the redhead. One of them was a cute little thing with light brown hair. She could get away with not yelling "I'M A GUY!" with how she looked, for she was obviously going to go with the feministic shy guy type. She looked real nervous, Sam just wanted to hug her. The other had dark brown hair and if she was a he, Sam would so go out with her. She had a "I'm cool and know it" air to her, which was perfect for a male persona. Sam decided she liked these two.

"Sooo," The redhead said lazily as she assumed a position much like the man in the front of the limo. "Why're you guys doing this?" She asked, looking to the brunettes curiously.

My birth certificate reads Dante Jaggar Miles, but I really do prefer Master. October 1 is presents day, and so far I've had soon to be 18 of those days.

I'm an individual, I tell you, because the one word that describes me is: evilasshole. Hey, you limited me to one word. So guess what f***er, I made one word. How about that? I'm not just evil and not just a f***ing a*****e either. I'm both dammit. Just ask my legions of slaves. I don't give a f*** about anybody. So I'm just a heartless b*****d. I have a very manipulative personality. I take advantage of people. Got a problem with that? Hope you don't cause I got s**t on you too. I guess one could call me a rule breaker, but rules don't apply to me. Rules usually don't apply to people who have power. Blackmail is my source of power. I'm very good at obtaining blackmail. I guess you could call me a smart a**. I never really do give a straight reply. Everything is always either an insult, a comment with a hidden insult, or a comment with no meaning to it. I have to be really interested in something to make me actually reply. I could go on about myself, but I don't have to.

So not soon after I was born I was swept up by the rich b*****d. I never was the perfect child he was hoping for. I've been an evil a*****e my whole life. Hell, I got s**t on the old man himself. Found the wonders a camera can do at a young age and everything pretty much grew from there. The old man sent me to the shithole school in hopes of straightening me out, but things never go his way. After a year I was able to move around the way I wanted to. Why are people so stupid and do things they know they shouldn't be doing and can easily be caught? Beats me. Well that's enough for you. Now all you need to do is wonder if anything I just said was real or not.

////Fear, that was the tool to control people. One can't control others through kindness and favors, no, the only way to be in control was through fear. Most people must learn how to instill fear in others' hearts. For a select few, fear is all they know. That was the case for Dante Jaggar Miles. Just his name had an ominous sound to it, let alone the young man himself. He was born with two different colored eyes, one blood red and the other royal purple. His superstitious mother was terrified of the newborn, not that it matter. He wasn't born to stay with her, he was born to be 'adopted' by Henry Miles, a multimillionaire business tycoon. Dante's adoptive mother hated and feared the strange baby, knowing deep down inside he was the child of her husband's affair.

////He was raised by nurses afraid of doing something wrong and having to suffer the wrath of Henry Miles. Dante lived off their fear and used it to his advantage, turning into one of the most demonic little boys the earth had ever seen. His hair was a natural pale blond, almost white. When the boy was able to get around on his own, he snuck out and bleached his hair to a pure white, increasing the fear factor. As he grew older, Dante noticed people would focus on his purple eye when talking to him, doing their best to avoid his left eye no matter one. So, he invested in an eye patch to cover his soft spot, forcing people to look at the unknown or red. Win-win situation for Dante, lose-lose for others. Yes, Dante was a child born to be a demon.

////Said demon was shirtless and perched on the windowsill of dorm room number thirteen. His hair was a mess of white, sticking out every which way. Both eyes were uncovered - eye patch discarded to the desk beneath the window - and pressed against black binoculars. Room thirteen was the best room in the whole school for surveillance. It was set on a corner and abnormally larger than the rest of the rooms. One window faced the entrance of the school and the main building, included the office, cafeteria, library, and a few classrooms. The other window faced the rest of the campus and with the help of his binoculars, Dante easily watched the movements of every student and teacher.

////So far, there had yet to be much movement in his jurisdiction, the high school division. The middle and elementary part of the school were on the other side of the high school dorm building. Dante didn't care much about the younger students, he only ever saw them during meal times and assemblies and they never gave him trouble. All of the younger students knew of him and feared him immensely, that's all Dante needed from them. They couldn't provide him with the profit he found in the high school students.

////"Bzzzrt. Bzzt. Chhss. Dante, do you have any targets?" Jake said through the headphones on Dante's head.

////Jake was the only boy in the school that associated himself with Dante. Dante himself wasn't sure what it was that kept the kid next to Dante through all these years, but he wasn't complaining. The blond was a trustworthy and useful pawn, if not partner. He was essential in hooking in the new kids at the beginning of the year. Hooked into what? Why Dante Info Inc. of course. It was Dante's personal information service where he provided any type of information to those who payed him enough. The beginning of the year was one of the busiest times of the year. Everyone wanted to know something about their roommate before meeting him. It was human nature to get rid of the unknown factor.

////Now why was Jake essential in hooking in these new kids? It was because Jake was a nice looking boy. He looked like the type of person you'd want to talk to. You'd be happy if someone like him came up to you and asked you if you'd like to make the start of the school year a little easier. If Dante approached the new kids, well, they'd run the other way. This was one of the few cases where fear was not the best tool.

////Dante scanned the group and signed into the mic attached to his headphones. "No little kiddies coming in yet. No sign of some regulars either... We've gotten everyone who's stepped foot on campus so far. Wait..." There was movement down the road, far off, perhaps ten minutes away. It was a limo, a sleek black limo. Dante picked up a giant stack of papers and flipped through the, positive there weren't any prominent figures attending Canteberry this year... None, natta, not a single son of some pompous rich guy that would drop his kid off in a limo... So what was up with this approaching vehicle so early on drop off day? This called for him to leave his watch tower and enter the field.

////"I'm coming down Jake. Meet me in front of the main building. There's a limo coming up the drive, this looks interesting. I want to investigate myself." Before Jake could think of reply, Dante ripped the headphones off his head and jumped to the ground. He grabbed up his shirt that he had promptly thrown off the second he entered the room several hours ago. The air condition system had yet to kick in from the long summer, it was hot in the room. He pulled on the white shirt and jacket, not bother to button the bottom half buttons to flaunt his tattoos and tease Jake. He knew that the blond was gay and had tons of fun making the kid blush like a girl.

////Before he walked out the door, Dante covered his purple eye once more and slung his laptop bag over his shoulder. Dante never went anywhere without his laptop bag. Inside he had his laptop, camera, video camera, and his little black book. Oh, the infamous little black book. The little black book was Dante's pocket sized source of blackmail. Sure, he had every piece of material on his laptop, but the little black book was an easy access means to control. The second he pulled out that book, people knew they were screwed.

////Dante made his way through the dorm building with an stroll that exclaimed, "I am the king of this place." Which, he was. The whole school was his kingdom, no one stood in his way. The teachers, students, principal even were all his slaves. He had blackmail on everyone. Everyone strived to please him. Yes, all the white haired demon needed was a crown and whip and the image would be complete... The poor girls in the limo had no idea what was going to meet them at the gates of Canterberry Boarding School.

I'm an individual, I tell you, because the one word that describes me is: gay. I'm a happy go-lucky guy. I like everyone and everything. I find the good in even the darkest of situations. I'm not an extremely outgoing person. I stick with what I know and don't try to go out of my comfort zone. I'm a follower and have no problem being bossed around... Thus my current situation, not that I don't like it. Even though it appears I lack a backbone, I do have my own opinions. I never go against my views, except when it comes to one person... Oh, did I mention I'm bisexual? Though, I'm leaning more on the homosexual side. I don't love people based on looks, I fall in love with their personality without regarding their gender... Though I like boys more... Girls are mean...

Life hasn't always been a jar of peaches for me, let me tell you. Well, my story is a common one. My family is a rich one that doesn't have time for the kids. I have two older brothers who went to Canterberry their whole life. It was more of a home than home, which goes the same for me. Canterberry is an escalator school, starts in kindergarden up to twelfth grade. I've been here since the beginning... I was never that popular, just the quiet kid in the back of the room. I didn't even really have any friends. But, that changed, sorta, when I got into fifth grade... There was a new student, a strange boy with bleach white hair and an eye patch... My life changed when Dante Miles entered Canterberry Academy. Somehow I got mixed up with the kid and I've been his personal assistant since then. I consider him a friend, but I know that he just sees me as a tool. I will admit that I have a small crush on him... Despite his evil personality, there is a very small caring side in him... Did I emphasize very?

A light breeze ruffled golden locks, but they remained fairly in the same place thanks to the beanie on Jake's head. He was seated in the courtyard on a bench that was facing the entrance to Canterberry. His messenger bag sat in his lap and he was filing through a mass of papers. Another boy, an anxious freshman, stood in front of the blond, shifting his weight from foot to foot.

"Ahha!" Jake exclaimed as he pulled out a bundle of papers. The freshman looked like he was about to faint as Jake flipped through the papers and started reading. "Your roomie is Carl Freeman, a senior. Says that he was your reading buddy when you were in second grade. Aren't you lucky? You already know him. He's a real nice guy, into archery and other uncommon sports. I'm sure you'll get along great." Jake looked up with a beaming smile as he placed the papers back in his bag. "The dorm number is room four."

The freshman let out a big sigh of relief as he handed Jake a ten dollar bill. "He's still using room thirteen like the rumors say, right?"

Jake laughed and nodded his head as he put the money in a separate part of the bag. "That's right. You don't have to worry about Dante. He probably won't ever want something from you. But, be sure to come to Dante Info Inc. first for anything you could possibly need help with. He won't eat you, I promise."

With a roll of his eyes, the freshman walked away. "Says you."

Dante wasn't that scary. Jake didn't understand how even the lower grades knew of and feared his friend. But, he was Dante's friend, so he supposed that made him a bit biased. Looking around, Jake realized that there wasn't anyone around. He pulled the collar of his jacket up to his mouth and spoke in the mic that was attached to the material. There was a bit of static in his ear piece, but it soon went away and he spoke. "Dante, do you have any targets?"

There was silence for a minute, then Dante's cold voice came in through the ear piece. "No little kiddies coming in yet. No sign of some regulars either... We've gotten everyone who's stepped foot on campus so far. Wait..." There was silence once again for several minutes. Jake stood and made his way over to the main building to get a better view of the driveway to try to see what it was that made Dante trail off. "I'm coming down Jake. Meet me in front of the main building. There's a limo coming up the drive, this looks interesting. I want to investigate myself."

Jake saw what his friend was talking about. A long black limo was pulling into the driveway. He was going to say he saw it, but he heard the click of the other device being turned off. Jake rolled his eyes and sat himself down on the steps to the building, watching as an energetic redhead burst out of the limo and a group of about nineteen guys or so followed out after him... Who were these people?

Tristan Steward sucked in the smoke from his cigarette. He held it, savoring the toxic taste. His death was going to be from lung cancer, Tristan knew it, but he really didn't care. He likes his cigs and nothing was going to make him part from them, not even death. Blowing out, the exhaled smoke joined the haze in the limo. The bored looking brunette was seated against the wall that separated the driver and the group. He took up the whole bench seat with his body and papers. The group was on its way to Canterberry Academy and he was reading up on the students. His little girlies were going to have their hands full with these students. He was going to get rich from this show...

Already he could pick out the girls that were going to be gone in a matter of months. Some were going to make it past Christmas, but only a handful showed promise of making it to the end of the year. Of course, Tristan was not a nice man. He was the creator of the show, he chose the girls' roommates. He gave the girls that showed the most promise some of the most troublesome boy students. Drama, it made him money.

Chuckling to himself, Tristan puffed on his cig again and continued rereading the files on students...

Kaiaka Yeriman

"Kaia&Aiaka"

Nineteen

Kaiaka was born and raised in the neighboring kingdom of Zarkaire. She lived in the poorest part of Zarkaire's capital city of Circial. She survived by stealing and not getting caught. She didn't get caught by getting good at what she did, stealing. At a young age she soon became one of the best thieves in not only Circial, but all of Zarkaire. Fellow thieves were constantly tracking her down for advice. People came from all ranks in society with money to pay her to steal for them. Life was good for Kaiaka. Not only was she rolling in money, but she was infamous. The girl was born for the spotlight and she soon grew addicted to it. Her thefts became more and more showing, she was taking more and more risks. Eventually, her pride got the best of his when she was fifteen and she was caught by the Circial guard. Sure, she escaped from prison easy peasy, but she was a wanted criminal with a huge price on her head. Not even fellow thieves would help her out, they'd rather turn her in for the humongous reward money on her head. So, she escaped to the kingdom of Elise where the story takes place. For the past four years, she's made quite the name for herself again. But, this time she's learned from her mistakes and taken more caution. She goes by the alias of Amour Tre. Also, to make herself more popular with the citizens and seem more like a hero than an average thief, Kaiaka often gives out some of her findings to citizens with a note telling them Amour Tre left it. All in the name of publicity! With her fame at its peak, Kaiaka has decided to take on the biggest challenge yet... Breaking into the royal castle of Elise.

In her day life, she lives under disguise as well. She alternates between being Kaia the Freelancer and Aiaka the guitarist. As Kaia, Kaiaka uses extensions and blue colored contacts. She often scouts out some of the best places to his as Amour Tre during her freelancing job. As Aiaka, her hair is its normal length without any extensions (she uses some as Amour Tre). She performs on the street and occasional day gig. Whenever she isn't stealing as Amour Tre, she's rocking the night away as Aiaka.

....Kaiaka crept along the hallways, dissolving into the shadows without a hint of her presence. It seemed as if all nineteen years of her life had been building up to this single mission. When she succeed, it'd be her best feat yet. Already she had done what no other thief had been able to do before, actually sneak into the Elise Castle. It was famed for how difficult it was to access, even for those who were allowed to enter the castle. It was on the top of a mountain, above the clouds. It was a magical castle and Kaiaka was proud to know she was the first thief in decades to step foot inside its walls. She was a good thief, yes she was.

....For three weeks she had been watching the castle. She had a little bit of magic and was able to turn herself invisible. The rest of watching was done by her crazy ninja skills. She could scale walls with her eyes closed. She had sticky fingers, it came with the job. Kaiaka grinned at her little joke as she slid up to the doorway to the room she had her eyes on.

....After her three weeks of surveillance, Kaiaka had found the room with the least amount of guards and people who entered it. It was also one of the hardest rooms to access in the castle, being at the top of one of those ridiculous towers. But, Kaiaka had done it, here she was.

....She wasn't sure who it was that used this room. He came every other day to practice some strange fighting skill. But, what she did know was that the room was loaded with access 'junk' of the castle. Ancient and forgotten items lined the walls, ready for Kaiaka to come and take them. She was certain the man who sparred by himself up here would appreciate her clearing away all of the junk that used up a lot of his space!

....Kaiaka opened the door soundlessly and slid into the room, closing the door as quietly as she had opened it. She had nothing to worry about today, it was a day off for Mr. Fighter. His schedule didn't change once in the three weeks Kaiaka watched him. There was no way he'd suddenly decide to change it up the night she sneaked in. She had amazing luck and stuff like that never happened to her.

The Nameless Experiment

Name"13"

Age18-19, not exact

BioThe experiment, that's what he is. He used to be a street kid, barely getting by with what he could live off of in the garbage. Now, he's the professor's experiment, barely getting by with keeping all of his body parts on his body. 13 has no name, he never had a name even before becoming the 13th experiment. He isn't sure what his personality is like or if he has any likes or dislikes. When the professor isn't testing on 13, the boy is allowed to roam a limited area of the basement laboratory, library included. 13 thinks he enjoys reading, but he has lost the concept of feeling and can only guess if he reads because he likes to or because he has nothing better to do... He's lost all hope, he can't remember what hope is. He's practically a walking corpse.

It was frustrating, very frustrating. Just thinking about how frustrated he was made him even more frustrated. He never felt any emotions and when he did 13 grew frustrated. Perhaps the frustration created by emotions was one of the few remaining self protection devices from his days of humanity. Maybe emotions led to something painful and 13 really did not enjoy pain. So he accepted his frustration warily, almost scared of what it could bring. Though, his frustration at the moment was understandable.

13 sat in the laboratory library, rereading an old biology book. His pace of reading was extremely slow and he had difficulty focusing with his single eye. He'd been one-eyed for almost a week now, but it was taking a while to get used to the handicap. The doctor had taken 13's eye to observe his ability to regenerate more than flesh wounds. 13 had been through worse, but nothing was more annoying than how slow he read with one eye.

After reading the same paragraph twice, 13 set his book aside and closed his eye in defeat. His frustration was long gone, he was back to his emotionless state. It was a state any other human would call 'lost of hope.' Perhaps that was the case for 13, but was it possible for a being that never knew of hope to have lost it?

13 sighed lightly and cleared his mind. If he wasn't going to be able to read, he had other ways to pass the time. He took a deep breath and concentrated on the ticking of the grandfather clock in the library. He listened to the repetitious pattern, then extended his hearing the mansion and grounds around.

Everyone was milling about in preparation for the return of the daughter. It was like this every winter and summer. The wife seemed determined to always have everything in order and perfect whenever the daughter returned. It made the servants run about wildly trying to obey her orders. These times of the year were the most interesting to listen to the household. The daughter always brought interesting stories and rarely, a friend.

13 leaned back against the library wall, he was sitting on the floor, as the sound of a vehicle driving up the long drive way resounded in his ears. So the daughter was almost here, just in time for dinner too...

Dr. Robert Patterson

Dr. Paterson sleepily made his way down into the lab. He hadn’t gotten much sleep after bringing all the ‘Santa’ presents out to the Christmas tree. It was rather troublesome that his daughter still so wholeheartedly believed in Santa Clause, it made Christmas so much more complicated than it should when the child was older than ten. He needed to be quick with 13 so he could get back up to the foyer before Kerra woke up and his wife threw a fit. Really troublesome…

There was something wrong, Robert got the feeling the second he stepped off the last step into the basement. He glanced around the hallway and first thing he noticed at that the light to the washroom was on. Turning it off, Robert frowned. Surely that couldn’t have been the only thing… The doors to both the library and lab were open. For obvious reason, Robert rushed into the lab first. 13 wasn’t in its tank. There was no sign of the damned thing anywhere in the lab.

Robert turned sharply on his heels and rushed into the library. At first glance, 13 didn’t seem to be there either, but then the doctor noticed the cushions to his reading chair were missing. His eyes traveled across the room and caught a glimpse of the patterned material squished in the space created by the ends of two bookshelves. Robert practically ran to the spot and felt his face growing hot with rage.

There was 13, curled up peacefully on his favorite chair’s cushions and dead asleep. The thing looked so, so human. There was a faint hint of a smile on its lips and a black eye patch covered his regenerating eye. Lying next to 13 was a children’s book about emotions. Where the hell would it have gotten something like that? The bandage that 13 was supposed to have over his eye was balled up between the wall and cushion.

Not caring just yet if 13 continued to sleep or woke up from his movements, Robert violently pulled the eye patch off of 13’s head. The eyelid closed over his missing eye was indented slightly, going into the hole where the eye should belong. The doctor noticed a flash of blue on the other side of the black material. He flipped it over and realized it was very small handwriting, a note. Robert pulled his glasses out of his shirt pocket, shaking slightly. He placed the spectacles on and leaned against the bookcase to steady himself. That was most definitely his daughter handwriting. Sure enough, the note was signed by his daughter’s name. There was another name in the note though. It was the name of one of Kerra’s video game characters, addressing obviously to 13. She had named the god damned thing! Was history destined to repeat itself?

Robert grabbed 13 by its thin arm and pulled it up and out of the nook it had created. Instantly, the thing’s eyes flew open, one terrifying empty socket and one equally terrifyingly crystal blue eye. Oh how Robert despised that eye of its. It had grown tolerable once the soul left them, but out of malice, the doctor had decided to test whole body part regeneration on its eye. Oh those dreaded eyes. It looked up at Robert, shock, confusion, terror, EMOTIONS were clear as day on its face and in its eye.

All the pieces suddenly clicked together in Robert’s mind. 13’s strange decline in health levels, the feeling that something was different with the specimen, his daughter’s unnatural new sleeping habits, combined with the obvious gifts Kerra had given the thing, everything made sense. Somehow, for some reason, Kerra found her way into the lab. She met 13. She was a kind girl, she probably thought it was human and began visiting and treating it as such. Why? Hadn’t everything been fixed ten years ago? Why?!

13 continued to stare at Robert; unable to move or speak he was so scared. Specimens shouldn’t feel fear! Furiously, Robert struck 13 across the face, dropping it to the floor at the same time. “How could this happen?!” He bellowed furiously.

When 13 said nothing in reply, Robert grabbed it by the arm once more and dragged it into the lab. For as tall as 13 was, it was easy to throw onto the examination table. Robert wasn’t just brains. He was a fit and sturdy man. “Lie down!” He barked at the thing. 13 moved in a daze, but lied down nonetheless.

The doctor threw the eye patch to the ground, realizing he had still been holding it. He moved quickly, both from the need to meet his wife’s dead line and pure anger. Out from under the table Robert produced leather buckles and proceeded to strap 13 down to the table. The thing continued to stare at him in terror and to add even more fuel to Robert’s anger he could swear there was worry in the thing’s eye. Worry. Specimen’s might be able to be shocked, confused, or scared from time to time, but worry?! That was an emotion reserved for humans. No other animal ever worried, no less a science experiment.

“ ‘What better to see than a little message when you can see again, neh?’ “ The doctor said in a mocking tone as he started setting up a large array of surgical tools. “That’s what she said, my daughter, to you, my specimen for scientific study. Ha, close friend too, Roxas. She’s a foolish child. She didn’t see you as a human, no, she saw you as a pet. Just a little experiment of her own! See if she could turn Daddy’s specimen into a human! Well, you’re never going to see her again and you definitely are not going to see that message with that eye in a long, long time Roxas.”

Fury filled its eyes. It was mad at him! How dare it! 13 began to open his mouth to speak, but the doctor quickly gagged the thing. He did not want to listen to it speak about his precious Kerra. Yes, it wasn’t going to see out of its left eye for a long time. It would have anything even resembling a left eye for a while either. Forget the progress it was showing, Robert wanted to destroy it. He wanted to burn it to the ground. But, his research took priority over his desires and the best thing he could get to killing it was hurting it.

An insane, toothy grin spread across the doctor’s face. He picked up a scalpel and held it over the spot where the bone of the skull curved off to create the eye socket. Pure terror was in 13’s blue eye as the doctor began laughing. “Be a good specimen now 13. I can add this eyelid and half developed eye to the jar with the original eye.” And he cut into the skin of the eyelid, cutting past the thin skin to deep within the eye socket.

A muffled scream came from 13 and tears streamed out of his intact eye. Then, silence. The stupid thing had passed out from the pain. Robert shrugged and continued the process of removing all traces of a human eye from 13’s right side of the face. It would be impossible for it to be without something covering his ‘right eye’ until the eyelid re-grew. Even if Kerra somehow found him again, there was no way she could still consider it human for without an eyelid to cover the empty eye socket, it right side of the face would be monstrous.

Robert worked without much care. He wasn’t trying to preserve the part of the eye or anything; he already had the original eye. He just needed to remove as much as he could. Glancing at the wall clock, he judged he had about twenty minutes left. Just enough time. Grinning, Robert looked down at the gaping hole on 13’s face. How scary it looked, it was wonderful. Though, the hole was still bleeding. That wouldn’t do. His specimen couldn’t die on him, especially not from blood loss. The doctor took out a jar of a special blood clotting salve from a draw. He almost filled the whole hole with the stuff, and then stuffed gauze in the remaining space. The doctor took out fresh bandages and wrapped them tightly around 13’s head. Highly pleased with himself, Robert collected a pile of clean bandages and more jars of the salve. He bundled them together and stuffed them in a bag. 13 was going to need to take care of himself for a while.

Slapping the thing awake, Robert pulled 13 to its feet. It was weak and tears started falling once more. Good. It was feeling the pain. It looked over at the bloody pile that was once its healing eye on the table and retched. Though, there was nothing in its stomach and only bile came out. How disgusting. 13 was breathing heavily and sweating profusely, yes, it was definitely feeling the pain. But, Robert could not watch the thing in pain any longer than that. He had a deadline and a distance to walk.

Robert headed out the door, literally dragging 13 behind him. The thing simply did not have the strength to run after the man. He felt a bit of resistance as he was heading out the door. Before he could kick the thing and tell it obey, the resistance was gone. Shrugging, Robert continued into the hallway. He pulled a card out of his pocket and waved it in front of a small hole next to the third door in the wall way. Not even 13 had a clue what was inside this third door. Robert was the only one to have entered it.

The door opened automatically, revealing a tunnel that seemed to go on forever… He began walking…

Confessions of a Terrian

My dragon, Daithi, tells me I'm stupidly naive. He knows me best, so I guess I am. Not trusting a stranger comes after they've done something that I can't trust them. I trust someone right off the bat. I am a tenderhearted person. If I see someone wounded on my travels, I'll help them without payment. My source of income comes from staying in different towns for a week or two and helping the local doctor. I avoid conflict and my will is easily swayed so there isn't a disagreement.

For some reason, people seem to get the idea in their head that I'm an idiot with idiotic goals. I keep my head down on the earth where I can see it. I am very rational and keep my realistic goals in mind. I know I can't save the world, but I do my share in trying to help. I also know that I can't save everyone I treat. I accept death as a part of life. I don't go on the impossible mission of trying to stop the war either. I won't push my ideals of peace on others, I know I can't change the ways of violence. I accept those and I wish people would stop thinking I don't.

I tell you the truth, edited out where I would lie...

As a child, I lived in a small village. I mostly kept to myself, reading my books and standing out as little as possible. My father was killed when a group of bandits raided my village, so I lived alone with my mother. Life was calm and peaceful, except for one small thing. As long as I could remember, there was a sadistic voice voice in my head, telling me what to do and yelling at me when I didn't follow its orders. Whenever I asked Mother about it, she would simply say, "You will understand one day Evelyn dear. It's not my place to tell you." When I was still a child, bandits attacked the village again. This time they were taking prisoners to sell in the black market as slaves. Every live person was rounded up and anyone who protested was killed on the spot. Mother had protested, trying to save me. She was not spared from the no-tolerence attitude of the bandits and was killed. I was towed off with the rest of soon to be slaves. For the first time in my life, my strange voice proved to be useful. It assisted me in escaping the bandits and finding a safe place to hide until the coast was clear. It was then a new saga in my life began.

The voice guided me to a cottage a weeks walk away. The cottage was home to a reclusive doctor who had cut himself away from the world to continue his studies. When I reached his doorsteps, he seemed to be expecting me. Instead of answering my questions, he directed me to a grotto with the knowledge that all my questions would be answered there. The closer I grew to this mysterious grotto, the louder and more prominent the voice became. At the grotto, I found a simple statue of a small dragon. The voice was yelling at me to touch it, I found no harm in doing so, and touched the stone. The second I did, the weathered stone exploded and I was thrown the the ground, a small black and red dragon identical to the statue sitting on my chest.

Daithi entered my life that day. To my relief, I was never crazy with voices in my head. No, it was Daithi all along, calling me to him to set him free. I was his master, a dragon tamer. We were partners for life and he had been cheated out of the first eight years of it. I returned to the doctor, Daithi in tow, and learned that the doctor, Anselm, had been a friend of my father. He offered me a place to stay. When he learned of my love of knowledge, he offered me an apprenticeship. For seven years, I worked under Anselm. While I learned medicine, I also had parallel lessons in dragons from Daithi. I proved to be a quick learn and amendable student. My magical talent allowed me to reach past limits of medicine that Anselm couldn't ever achieve. By the time I reached 15, I was close to my teacher's level in medicine (magic aside). With Daithi's prodding, Anselm kicked me out into the world, informing me I needed experience, not knowledge. Since then, me and Daithi have been traveling, offering medical assistance to anyone who needs it.

I can kill a man with just my thumb...

† A dagger that is completely for self defense (forced upon me by Anselm and Daithi)
† I also have a large bag of medical knives and tools that could be used as weapons in the direst of situations, but I have yet to use them other than for medical procedures

Do you believe in magic?

† I am a dragon tamer, meaning I am the born master of a dragon. I can converse with Daithi, but I'm the only one who can hear him
† Being a dragon tamer, I have magic in me and I have slight healing abilities that can quicken the healing process, but using this power takes energy from me

I am only human!

†My policy of trusting someone until they give me a reason not to...tends to get me into more trouble than it should be worth, but I stick by my policy Thankfully Daithi is there to help me.
†I am not a fighter. I lack muscles needed for fighting (the most I have is enough to carry all of my bags) and can be taken down with a simple shove. I'm a doctor, not a warrior.
†My sense of judgment is a bit...messed up. I'll go into one situation that seems to have no chance of success, but hesitate for one with a high chance of success. Again, it gets me into trouble. Thankfully I have Daithi, again.
†Being a bit of a klutz tends to hurt me more than help me...
†My healing abilities' source of power is from my energy. The more powerful the healing spell, the weaker I am when I finish.

The reason I exist...

I am a traveling medic and this is a time of war. My services are needed from everyone and I will heal anyone that needs help. If I cannot save someone, I simply make their passing into death more peaceful.
