The thing about Otake was that his 'class clown' complex stemmed from absolutely nothing. He was an only child, so he wasn't attention starved. He was not bad at socializing - in fact he was quite good at talking to people; neglecting every shy bone in his body. No one could say that he was under challenged by the actions around him when he really just could care a less about those things. So, what made him act this way? What made Otake behave with such egotistical manner that often caused his closest friends to raise an eyebrow? Because it annoyed the hell out of the people he didn't like, and that was always worth the thrill of making himself look stupid.

And Tsukiko had obviously been irritated by his statement as she gave that look that he knew all too well. What was even better, however, was the fact that she didn't respond right away with anything nearly as clever as he had hoped. "Do you think that’s any way to talk to your superior?"

Oh no, that was entirely the wrong answer. Otake's brain didn't spin for a logical response, he was too busy smiling so broadly that it would make most people sick. "Aww, don't worry, I'll be your date for the Kalim massacre!" It was the first thing that came to mind, and he was pretty happy about it. Nothing made him more pumped up for a kalim slaughter than getting a rush from pissing Tsukiko off. 'We're really doing this? I guess we are!' He thought and smiled broader, his hands still in his pockets.

"Like anyone would want you for that!" Otake barely heard what she had to say, intending to say what he wanted to regardless of her words and knelled. His eyes turned as soft as they could and then placed a hand over his heart. As dramatically as possible, he removed his smile as if trying to woo her and placed his other hand on hers that had been folded in her lap. "My lady, do not be shy. The p***s repellent that is your tongue does not work on me." His serious frown would have turned into another toothy smile if not for her fist meeting his face with a good amount of force.

Otake immediately stumbled backwards onto his butt, cupping his handover his face. She missed giving him a bloody nose by what seemed like centimeters - not that it would have bothered him much. It would only have exacerbated things with Otake grabbing her legs as she walked away, 'Don't leave me! Look, I'm bleeding for you! My blood, sweat, and tears go into my love!' Alas, that never came, but he certainly felt the pain after that. He winced and looked up at her, not entirely bothered by the situation. The pain would subside, but she was and would always remain an easy target. "Don’t involve my in your dirty fantasies!" Otake smiled again as she checked to see if anyone had witnessed their little fiasco. The others would more than likely do nothing, seeing as he was one of those people who were often whacked in the face for the things he said. He pinched the bridge of his nose and tried to relieve some pain that began to swell around the center of his face. He didn't have anything to say to her in that moment, and quite frankly, he was going to let some discomfort that resulted in her blow dissipate before she had another reason to strike again.

Her look suddenly changed, however, and Otake only spun his head around slightly to get a good look at the group behind him. It was obvious something was amiss as the saviors fell silent; Tsukiko putting on her game face. Otake only heard one single echo of a growl, reminding him of why they were even there in the first place. He winced again, but this time for the pain in his ears as she addressed Gilbert. When she looked down on him as if to petrify him with her eyes he only smiled, cocking his head slightly to get one last rise out of her. She announced she was going forth and to be safe to the others, and before he was able to get to his feet -she was gone. With that, he stuck his hands in his pockets again and smiled to Gilbert, shrugging. His face was still throbbing, and he assumed it would not subside for some time so he chose to ignore it. Honestly he could take a few hits out on the battle field, but that was easily done with the rush of adrenaline. Actually, it had been some time feeling that kind of pain, but he'd never let Tsukiko know that - not in a million years. That's when he paused, suddenly realizing he had just been standing there idly, staring at the group. He looked back into the woods where Tsuki had disappeared then back to Gilbert. Otake grinned, hands still in his pockets. He looked back to the tree line one more time before returning his gaze to Nakahara and winking, slowly disappearing into the woods afterwards.

Mehh, they'd be fine, right?

Otake had been casually walking in the direction he figured Tsukiko had gone, but was pretty sure he'd get lost before catching up to her. He was tall enough to keep a good pace, but she could have gone off in any direction. Truthfully, he didn't mind getting lost. Oh yes, he'd get an earful later about it, but it wouldn't be the first time. However, he didn't have much time to think on that seeing as he could hear something in front of him. Seeing as he was an arrogant b*****d, he didn't think twice about it being his fellow savior; even if there was a good chance it could have been a Kalim. He was so confident he didn't even bother to summon his weapon.

Tsukiko looked so adorable in her attack pose, and Otake would have said something about it if she had not spoke first. "Otake-san!?" He smiled, "What are- You should- ugh." Oh yes, this was the perfect response. She snapped around again, but Otake was way too satisfied with her reaction. "HEY!" He couldn't help but giggle a bit, pushing foliage out of his way as he trailed her. As they got further into the woods, he had to keep on her heels as to not lose her. They had a charming back and forth, though he obviously found it a lot more entertaining than she had. He proceeded to insist that she couldn't stand him up on their Kalim date and whatever else he could to get a rise out of her. Honestly, she was doing quite well, but he wasn't going to give up. During their chatter he had to match her jog, but just to annoy her even further he began to run backwards, oddly enough having good intuition for not slamming his back into a tree trunk.

It didn't even dawn on Otake that they were heading deep into enemy territory, and he was unarmed. His tactics were a good reason he'd probably always be under her, never rising in ranks more than he had. It didn't bother him but it was a valid statement. Never the less, when he stopped his grin formed into a smug smile and crossed his arms, believing he had finally gotten to her. He was a few feet in front of her, so this time he'd be able to dodge an incoming blow if she decided to repeat the action. "Why are you following me!?" Otake closed his eyes and reached his hand out to her as if she was up in a tower; desperate to escape from it, "I'm here to protect you, my princess!!!" His voice was obviously too loud for the situation at hand, for he had no idea what was taking place behind him. He was still in his pose when she spoke again, "The only one who needs protection," Otake opened his eyes slightly, somewhat confused with where she was going with that. It didn't dawn on him until she summoned her weapon, "Is you." What came next made him hold his breath, the entire thing going down in a blur and under a few seconds.

"OOF!" He was pushed aside, and for a brief moment he had been sure she had enough of him and was just going to do away with her katana right then and there. It was dark, secluded, and Tsuki was intelligent enough to be able to bury him or persuade the others that he had simply run off by himself. This thought happened for only a moment as it was clear shortly after he hit the ground that he had nearly been maimed by an oncoming Kalim. Otake scurried back to a tree, an incredulous look plastered on his face. He was still holding his breath, thanking the heavens he didn't soil his pants because he was pretty sure she was going to kill him in that moment. The screech of the shadowy monster caused him to snap back to the situation at hand, and he was then finally able to exhale. When the creature made his mark on her, he winced, somewhat knowing that if he hadn't been such a goof that probably would have never happened. Of course, it wouldn't be Otake if he had thought about it too much. He watched her dispose of the large Kalim in awe, glad Tsukiko was too busy fighting like hell to notice his facial expressions. When she was finished, Otake began to hyperventilate, resisting the urge to giggle like a little school girl from the rush. The darkness made it hard for him to know what she had been looking for, but it was obvious once she had found him and asked, "Otake, are you alright?"

He was already breathing quickly, and completely ignoring the fact that she had just saved his life he clutched his chest and moaned, thinking they were safe. "Ugh...oh god...nnnghh," He gave a dramatic wince and closed his eyes as if he was in agony. "I...I can't...so much...pain...I..." "What?! Spit it out!" Otake used his free hand to reach out to her, "My...so much devastation...my pride. A princess does not behave in such a manner!" His incredulous expression remained as he brought himself to his feet. He pretended to shake and tremble as if traumatized. "I cannot stand for this, I must redeem myself for your love!" The blonde swung his arm around to summon his weapon as usual; it was always such a sight to see as it looked as though he was trying to fly away with one hand. A few seconds went on like this before he realized Iji wasn't showing up, and he frowned. "Bakaaaaaaa," he rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, shrugging. Of course she wasn't showing up, it would have been perfect. She loved to embarrass him, and that was the best time to do so - in front of Tsukiko. In turn, she rolled her eyes; Otake believing the weapon got what she wanted. It was obvious Tsukiko was annoyed, though he couldn't be sure what about. Was it about his goofing off, worry for his safety being unable to conjure his weapon, or her own danger that came with having to protect both him and her? What came next was something of a mutter, but Otake could make out some of it. "Damn weapon....useless....have to carry both of us..." Well, his question was answered, and all it did was make him grin momentarily. There was a rustle in the bushes and they both fell silent, looking in the direction behind her.

"What-"

Otake was cut off by an oncoming Kalim about the size of a large dog sprinting toward Tsukiko, and immediately afterward another identical Kalim pounced from his right. Otake didn't hesitate and he dodged the second creature, missing it by mere inches. In his peripheral vision he could see Tsuki engaging the first Kalim with ease, doing away with it rather easily. His own creature slid on the forest floor, without fault pouncing back in his direction. Otake quickly stood up, ready to dodge out of the way again; though he would never get the chance. Before the Kalim could jump, Tsukiko's katana was lodged into its torso, and with one long sear disposed of the thing. Otake huffed, nearly wide eyed at the entire scenario. Dammit, saved his life again. He waved his arm around once more, slightly annoyed at the ring blade that finally appeared on his forearm. He stopped it from spinning and rested it on the floor, shaking his head. "Don't...don't get used to that."

Unfortunately, or fortunately, Tsukiko didn't have a chance to reply. The moment he exhaled another larger Kalim appeared behind him in the relatively small clearing of trees they had been in. He didn't dally with his reaction and swung his blade with almost too much momentum toward it, spinning nearly 180 degrees. The Kalim didn't move like he had anticipated, however, and Otake missed the beast entirely; jamming his blade into the tree beside it. He paused for a moment, looking from the monster and then to his weapon, cursing. "You've got to be kidding-"

The Kalim let out a heavy battle roar, standing on its hind feet and poised to attack. That was when Tsukiko lunged, engaging it as swiftly as she had earlier. When he finally got his weapon free to attack, she was already disposing of it. Otake blinked, not sure whether he was frustrated or relieved. He cursed again, "This...this is unacceptable!" He clutched his blade with an outer handle and lifted it up, pointing to her. "I..." He began backing up, not even thanking her. "I must prove my love to you! I'm going to go slaughter as many Kalim as it takes to earn it!" Of course, that wasn't the reason why he was backing up into the trees. He didn't necessarily take his job seriously enough to care about who had more kills. He did, however, dislike how Tsukiko had to 'protect' him in the preceding attacks. He broke into a quick walk, making as little noise as possible to hear any oncoming footsteps from, well, anything. Being alone in the darkness at the moment didn't scare him, as adrenaline was coursing through his veins. It wasn't that he was courageous, he was just arrogant and naive, or something to that effect. Only a few minutes passed before he heard the scrape of a footstep behind him, and he quickly turned to walk backwards; seeing Tsukiko a few strides behind him. He didn't grin this time, "Oh yes, it's scary out here, isn't it? Don't worry, I'll protect you. Take a breather. I've already cleared like, four Kalim, so we're even now." He lied, and with that he turned back around, using his rather heavy weapon as a misshapen walking stick.

Evangeline has a relatively normal past full of rather dull and unexciting events. She grew up in a normal family that included both her mother and father who were professors at Kings College in London, where she grew up. She had always been a practical person and level headed person, so she had planned on being a psychologist long before she entered college. She went to school, got fantastic grades, but other than that Eva really didn't have much of a life. In fact, she would make excuses for herself to avoid going out or making friends with things such as her studies and time in general. However, the plain truth was that she just was not a social person. She cared more about being successful and having a stable future than running around being...happy, so to speak.

She graduated from college with a masters degree when she was 23, and dove quickly into her solitary life of psychology. Eva was able to rent her own loft to conduct her business in the heart of London, and she seemed content. Well, that was it, content. Other than that, she really had no set goals in life. The prospect of the burden of a family didn't interest her, nor did winning much recognition for what she did tickle her fancy. Although, things happen. Evangeline, within a few years, had climbed the status of psychologist and eventually got her PHD, and she wouldn't admit it but the event was out of sheer boredom. Without any real past times other than fishing, she now had a lot of time on her hands outside of work. The truth was, Eva knew about Nervetech long before many did.

Her interest in it was sheer business, however, as she had been hired to test out the game's post psychological impacts. She agreed, believing she had been hired to evaluate some players each day after their game play, depending on the amount played. So it was sheer surprise to her to have received her very own NerveTech and copy of the game shortly before release. Figuring it to be some mistake, she called up the company to clarify the issue. No, it wasn't a mistake. Apparently they hired psychologists all over the world to personally test out the game, supposedly to witness any 'traumatic, dramatic, or exaggerated personality changes in game'. Eva shrugged, believing it was a legitimate claim. So, when the beta began, despite her clean past of never playing anything more violent or complicated than Mines on Windows, she donned the NerveTech and entered the game under a female character named 'Evan'.

What followed was nothing short of horror to her. Being confined to the game caused her, for nearly a week, to sit in a hotel in the first level and stare blankly at a wall. In every way possible she was trying to rationalize how and why such a thing could happen. What was the point of living, if living was just a game? Of course, committing suicide wasn't a solution, as one couldn't die in the game. But what was the point? Evan was like this for a week before realizing that life had always been a game, and it was about time that she started playing it.

It was a freedom of enlightenment, and it caused her to break out of her shell. She knew no one in the game, at least to her knowledge, so she began to party with other players. Evan found out really quick that she had no coordination with any type of sword or weapon, including a bow. So, it only was fitting that she became a heavy magic user. She took to supportive magic quickly, and became incredibly good at keeping her party members alive and strong. Her only offensive capabilities are that of holy magic, being exceptionally strong against demonic or undead creatures. As time went on, a small group of players approached her, claiming she had talent for her craft. Well, Evan didn't really think so. Since the beginning of the game, she had learned that the only way they were getting out of this game was if they all worked together, and if she could help, she was going to do what she could. Even if every day that went by, she wished more and more that NO was reality...

Never the less, the few players proposed she help with some gold for them to begin a guild, and in turn she would be a co-leader. She was hesitant, but in the end she handed them the gold and the guild was formed. As their levels grew, so did the guild's recognition. When all was said and done, she did not believe that the Arcanists would be one of the top guilds in NO, but then again the entire game seemed like a fantasy to her. As the guild hierarchy was formed, she had been established as the supportive, or healing, leader. She became rather proud to be able to reach out to other guild members and help them, and in the end that's all she wants to do. She goes where she is needed, be it guild member or an ally. But one thing everyone knows is that Evan only goes where she believes people deserve her.

Society has its limits. Unfortunately enough, ours just hadn't reached it yet.

Before the year 2051, the world had endured two year nuclear war, devastating England, Moscow, and Berlin. However, after discovering
a new element on the moon, that which came in the form of a stone called Kortabellum, the entire population's perspective on life came to
a sudden turn. The stones were a product of the moons collision with a small asteroid, which prompted the immediate attention of NASA.

During a shuttle exploration to the moon, dozens of these stones were found and sent to different laboratories around the world. For many
years, there was nothing special about these stones except their origin, but that was until the first Korta was born. This human was born
witha superhuman ability, something never before seen. The first born was in Houston, Texas, and possessed the ability of manipulating
the element of fire. It was found later that he also carried a larger capacity for superhuman strength, speed, agility, intelligence, and end-
urance. It was the beginning of a superior race.

Of course, with uncertainty came a lot of testing. After years of processing data and a few more Korta births, it was determined Kortabell-
um, in fact, let off a certain type of radiation. A radiation that revolutionized a select amount of DNA in humans; causing them to essentially
evolve nearly thousands of years. Well, that's the theory. To this day, no one truly knows what the element itself does to humans, but it
was like Pandoras Box; once open, there was no stopping it. Even after quarantining the stones, people were still born with these powers.
And that was the thing - they were being born, not transformed.

The only way a Korta exists is by being exposed to the radiation somehow, and only in their mothers womb. The mother herself is not
affected, but the fetus is. Once the child is exposed, it evolves them. Wherever a stone might have been, wherever it has traveled, the
radiation lingers. Not only that, but it has been proven there is a small chance that a Korta can give birth to the same offspring, as they
carry the radiated DNA themselves.

By 2085, the ratio of Korta to humans were still low; for every 35 million humans, there would be 5 Korta - which left its estimated popu-
lation at about 1275, roughly. These new species are not documented nor registered, as there is no true way of telling at birth. Their
outward appearance is not effected, and the unique developments have been known to arise as late as seven years. Most parents and their
Korta offspring conceal their traits in order to lead a relatively normal life; but others find more power in themselves. At the start of
World War III, a large number of Korta's joined their respective armies around the world. The truly special and most powerful ones, however,
belonged to KIA. The Korta Intelligence Agency was founded by the United States at the dawn of the species in hopes to gather powerful
and unique minds for US and allied defenses; in the end, however, it just maybe the only thing in the way of a foreign dictator and his
tyrannical plans to take over the world.

Each character has their own specialty, but choice of weapon is much different. While most will know how to operate most handheld
weapons, everyone has a personal preference. You may choose from the list below; these are the firearms that the character carry with
them on most missions. While the artillery expert will be proficient in mortars, he/she will not be walking around with one, obviously.
If you choose a weapon from list A, you may only choose 1 weapon. If you choose a weapon from list 2, you may choose another from
list B. If there are any classifications of guns that you feel could be added here, you are free to suggest. Each character also has a
standard knife given to them when entered into the KIA special forces. It would be kinda cool, you know, to have diversity, but weapons
can be repeated until they have a ↚ beside them.

ever, we're down to the brass tacks of it all now. Firstly, follow Gaia TOS and all that shet. No power playing and no killing people with-
out plotting it out first, and all that lovely junk. It would be super cool if you were mature throughout the process of the role play and during
discussions and disagreements, too. The adorkable Finn n Jake holds just as much power as I, Enchant, do when it comes to enforcing
these rules; which is absolutely none. I mean, seriously, what can we do? Nothing except for complain and ask you to leave, or ignore you.
But by god, we're going to hold onto that righteous gaia-given power like it's as important as fabric softener.


WHY IS POSTING SO IMPORTANT FUR SRS

02.05.2051 tab ► tab Yeah, uh, unfortunately for some, we're those weird people that like decorated posts. Nah, they don't have to
be super fancy, but fonts between 9-11, coordinating colors, and some kind of nicely cropped picture of your character is appreciated.
Their name and position in the role play would be cool, too. If it's not clear, anime pictures only. Other forms of illustration may be alright,
but I will probably reject them. OOC activity is a big thing for me, and skype is a great way to stay in touch and plot; I'm a huge advocate
of skype role play rooms, which is why I ask for your username. When it comes to activity, there's not much we can do about life and just
saying '******** it' or 'i'm not feelin et' and you want to quit. However, it's a bit of courtesy to say something, and we will be expecting a
post within 2-3 days of it being your turn in the role play. As a literate role play, each post should consist of near flawless grammar,
spelling, and creativity. By creativity I mean posts should contribute something to the role play. All characters are important, and no player
should have to endure watching their creation sit on the side lines. While there maybe leadership roles, this does not mean they are any
more important than the others. I find it annoying when players do not read posts of characters that they are not interacting with. If there
is any suspicion of this, you will be given a warning and asked wtf mate srs? Ohman, now onto quantity...this is such a touchy subject.
Yes, this is qualified under advanced literate, but to me advanced literacy does not mean quantity, it means quality. That being said,
I'd have to say an average post, excluding the intro post, will probably average 1000 words. That's not to say there wont be 700 words,
or a 2000 word post, but nothing will be forced. If you go the flow of the role play, and contribute something to the story with every post, I'm
sure everyone will be happy.


SETTING THIS UP

02.05.2051 tab ► tab There are two groups to this role play: The Chancellor & Co., and the KIA Special Forces. The 3 under Chancellor
do not pick any specification, but instead will rely heavily on plotting among each other and coming up with your own type of team. Will they
rely on force, intelligence, stealth, or a mixture like the KIA SF? That's for them to decide. If you do choose Chancellor, Jake and I will
inform you and bring you up to speed on what his ultimate goals are, and plot with your minions and the two of us for the future if
you'd like. We would prefer you not reveal his goals for some time, okay? At least not right away, and keep a little mystery there. Your
profile will be in a separate thread. You can send the link via PM or the OOC, doesn't matter to us; just be sure to quote if on forums. If
