Elliot Wilkins was born just a few minutes after her brother in one of the England district ships, making him her twin and only sibling. It took a few days but their mother eventually died of complications from the birth. Since neither twin ever got to know their mother, they never felt too sad about the whole thing but for some reason, the boy took it harder. His name ended up being Emily and hers Elliot. The names were meant for the other gender but some nurse accidentally switched them and there they stayed. It was fine, though, the boy learned to just go by Em. More damage was done in what government they had established since their mother, Heather, was a senator. Even though the repercussions struck others more, Em and Elliot both got some money for a trust fund of sorts.

William, the twins' father, didn't do anything too important. He worked as a rescuer, saving lives whenever possible but he was no real doctor by some standards. Em took the single parent thing harder and Elliot, though younger, took the lead. She made sure he did well in all areas while ignoring her own life for several years. When school started she got a break and the twins went off in different directions. They were still close, of course, but Em liked much different things. He liked to bake and wear Elliot's clothes and she preferred to do the 'dirtier' things in life. Luckily, school came easier for her and for awhile she planned on being an engineer.

However, the older she grew, the more she learned and the more she blamed doctors for her mother's death. Other children knew both parents and had them around always. Other little girls got to play dress up and had tea parties. Elliot eventually decided she wanted to become a doctor because of this. She would save the lives that others couldn't.

The rest of her childhood and teenage years passed easily enough. A few bumps came when she realized she had no attraction for boys like other girls did. Instead, she liked those very same girls. For awhile she had a boyfriend but it didn't work as she knew it wasn't right. When she dated a girl, it just made more sense and felt a lot better. Her father didn't like it, especially since Em was clearly gay as well. Neither of his children would then produce grandchildren on their own and despite the fact that it made them happy, he never truly came to accept it.

When they graduated high school, Em used his money to open a restaurant and Elliot used hers for higher education. She studied medicine and he cooked all day. When Elliot finished school, she went straight into an internship so that she could become a resident at the local hospital. At this time she moved in with her brother, whose restaurant had been failing. Having a roommate put less of a strain on him, but still people were more interested in other, more necessary, things. Eventually things had to end and Em went on to work at a market instead.

The only problem for Elliot was that she always got bored rather quickly. She wanted adventure, thrill. Working in a hospital as a doctor trying to be a surgeon was just boring. And that's when she decided she wanted to try something completely new. There was a crew and they needed a doctor--the responsible, intelligent twin would finally fulfill her curiosity for the world. Perhaps she would be in the crew that finally found land and brought people to it. Wouldn't that be something.

Most people might think that a hard-working doctor might be strict and up tight. Maybe I'm just the out lier, but I'm definitely not like that. First of all, I've grown up around guys most of my life. Even though my brother isn't much of a "man" my father only hung around other male rescuers, so I grew up with the men. That just means I can hold my own and don't take bullshit. I'll get what I need when I need it. But maybe I'm coming off too harsh here; I just like to lay down the rules. Really, though, I like to have fun. If someone's being too sad, I'll be the first to crack a joke, even if it's a little inappropriate. I may be smart enough to cut people open, but socially I'm still a teenager, laughing at stupid fart jokes. The doctor thing plus the no mom thing has also made me caring. I've got a nurturing personality but I'd die before having my own kids. I don't hesitate, I jump. Also, I still have a young vocabulary that college kids use. Some things you just don't grow out of. I don't like to hate people, but my emotions can get out of hand. I rebound fast, though, so I won't hold a grudge. Just don't screw me over--I'm not pretty when I'm pissed.
