。。。 【❤】Bored, really there was no other way to describe the feeling of the female that sat in a cab next to a male named Vincent Belmont, her reason for being in the nasty cab in the first place. Of course, since he couldn't see or hear her, he had no idea she was even there at all, but that was just fine with her. She'd known Vincent since he was born, since she used to belong to his mother in a way, the same way she now belonged to him. Or did they belong to her? Who knew, but it didn't really matter because the fact was she was tied to his family line, and at this point, tied to him. Of course, she was a demon and could roam as she pleased as long as she checked up on him from time to time and it had been a good thing she'd checked up on him when she had this time. He was coming to Hauntsville to try and break the curse that had been placed on his family, the very curse that tied her to them, but if she let that happen she'd be sent back into the Underworld. And she didn't imagine Hades would be overly pleased with her since part of her job was to prevent that from happening. Since she didn't want to face his wrath, she was just going to have to stop Vincent, which she didn't assume would be that hard. All she had to do was keep him from finding that stupid book. Easy enough, right?
"What a pathetic name for a town don't you think?" She sighed at that, brushing an impatient hand through her rose colored hair. "You're the one that wanted to go to the pathetically named place, stupid Vincent," she mumbled softly, her voice rather beautiful despite the fact she was quite the opposite of an angel, a slight frown on her peach lips. She listened to the conversation between Vincent and the cabbie since she had nothing else to do, her suitcase tucked between her legs on the floorboard, deceptively small inside. It happened to be a magical suitcase she'd acquired a few centuries ago and was very useful since she could put every piece of clothing she owned inside and still have room for anything else she wanted while never having to worry about being able to close it. More or less a portable black hole mixed with a closet. Very handy indeed. Her attention returned to the two men as Vincent pulled out a knife and then the cabbie pulled out a gun, shaking her head lightly at what she considered complete folly, human men and their little toys. Of course, the fact that the cabbie had a gun meant that the ride to Hauntsville ended here, what a pain in the butt. For her.
Grabbing her suitcase, she slid out of the cab behind Vincent, careful to get out without touching him before the door shut on her. Some job Vincent had done getting them here, she'd do better finding things on her own! So, carrying her suitcase, she trudged away from him to do just that. Besides, this way she could find that blasted book before him and hide it somewhere he'd never be able to find it, then she would worry free. 'Yeah, I'll hide it or just keep it with me, then I'll never have to come back to this hot, dusty, nightmare of a place. My shoes are almost covered in dust already! Stupid old town,' she huffed at her own thoughts, heading away from him into the town. She could smell that there were other demons around, which meant she'd have to at least be aware of where he was, but other than that it wasn't like she cared at all. Except for when it came time to eat, then she would be finding him, of course. But now she needed to find a place to sleep for the night since she would be here as long as he was. Unfortunately. She spotted what looked to have been a very nice house at one time and headed for it, planning to claim it as her own.
Upon reaching the place, she sensed that it was empty and let herself in happily, headed straight for the biggest bedroom. Of course, the whole place was a dusty mess, which meant she'd have to clean it up a little. Cleaning was never something she looked forward to, but she'd simply have to live with it. Setting her suitcase down on the floor, she moved to the bed and did her best to shake out all the dust from the blankets, sheets, and pillows. Not bad for someone who refused to clean if there was any way around it, which there was more often than not. But this time, she'd have to actually do something on her own. How annoying.
--
About an hour later, the biggest bedroom and the main areas of the old house were about as clean as they were going to get and she'd been delighted to find that the shower/bath in the main bathroom was in working order. She did hate to be dirty, after all. Now was the time to get out, get a feel for the old town, and find that book. Dusting her hands over her shorts and glancing at her reflection in the bathroom mirror, she set out from the house once more, locking the front door from the inside before closing it. How would she get back in? Why the window she'd left cracked, of course. Being a demon that could turn into any feline you desired did have its perks and she wanted to make sure no one else tried to move into her territory since she knew there were others in the area. The only thing she didn't know was who they were, but perhaps she would find out now.
