Background Story
Vincent Bradstreet, a wealthy man and owner of the local law firm. His wife, Elizabeth, was the talk of the town, she was always wearing what was fashionable and always had the best gossip. John, their son who was 17 at the time of death had a promising future as a lawyer. Taylor, their eldest daughter was an aspiring artist, probably better than everyone in her family. From what you hear, it seems like every one in the Bradstreet family was successful and had a promising future. That is until you hear about their youngest daughter, Mina.
Mina was a troubled child, always playing disturbing games by herself. She would tear the heads off of her dolls and burry them in the backyard. She was naturally disturbed and nothing her parents did seemed to sooth her sadistic nature. They took her to the best therapists and doctors they could find, both in and out of New York, but nothing seemed to help.
None of the neighborhood children would ever play with little Mina and this sent her into a spiraling depression. She was six years old and wanted nothing more than to have a friend, someone who would understand her and never judge her. Every night she would sneak out of bed, go down the stairs and light a candle. She would stare into the candle flame for hours, wishing for a friend. One night her wish came true. She heard a voice coming from the candle flame. It told her that she now had a friend, although she could not see her new companion. Mina was over joyed. She would tell her new friend everything, and the voice always understood.
One night, Vincent grew tired with his child's behavior. He planned to ship her off to the nearest mental hospital, where she would be 'helped.' Mina overheard her parents talking and was outraged. She immediately told her new friend about her problem and of course her friend understood. Then her friend told her something disturbing, something Mina couldn't understand. "I can make your parents go away. I can make them leave you forever. I can take then away, someplace they can never escape. Let me do it Mina, let me help you get rid of them." Mina didn't know what to do. She ran crying down the stairs but the voice was desperate to help her, the voice took control of the little girl's body. It forced Mina to stab her parents at midnight on Friday the thirteenth. It forced her to kill any witnesses, her siblings. They slept in the west wing of the mansion and the voice forced Mina to burn in it to the ground. Mina took control of her body and made sure both she and the voice died that night in the fire, along with the rest of her family...
