In the early 21st century, the world was still struggling with the inbalance created by World War II and the Cold war, while trying to globalize the world. Disparities grew between the rich and poor nations, and growing threat of terrorism gripped most of the first world nations. The world was also readying themselves for the growing dominance of the Asian market.
The mid-21st century, the disparity between the not only the rich and poor nations, but the super, middle, and smaller powers grew tremendously. The economic vibrancy of Asia vanished with the political explosion caused of the collapse of North Korea and massive pro-democracy protests in China. Before you know it, the world scrambled into the third world war.
The late 21st century, the third world war was subdued from it's true potential thanks to crafty businessmen in power of some of the world's most powerful companies. The war ended with the "Humanity Peace Treaty," and many viewed the war as a way to beat out the inbalances and grudges caused by twentieth century. However, the war only lasted three years, and was dramatically interrupted by the joint venture of the world's top businessmen. Therefore, many problems still have not been solved...
Currently, eighteen years after the end of World War III, the world has just finished reconstruction and the world is beginning to welcome a new economic boom that could cover the entire globe. One good aspect created due to the war was that the level of technology of almost every field leaped beyond expected. The life expectency is beginning to skyrocket, birthrates have gone up, and literacy rate is almost 100% across earth.
On the downside, the world is pretty much ruled by the dollar. The big companies that saved the world from a global genocide have seen tremendous growth, and they pratically control the world. Also, old organizations have recouped in this new era, most of them considered occult.
The world which didn't truthfully see the end of the last war, may see it continue in a new high stakes world.
