the adventurous girl & newborn vampire
w/ the clutzy girl & human

Lizzie waited for Emmett to give her the go ahead. Even though she was dying with all these animals and the blood around her. He smiled and nodded at her. And after that she took off. Lizzie was much faster than she had expected she would be. It would take her a little while to get used to this speed. To get used to the burning. As Lizzie entered the brush where the little creatures were hiding, she could hear and see Emmett from the corner of her eyes. She was happy about the fact that he was here. Emmett was here if she needed him. Lizzie quickly put all her attention on the little creatures in front of her. Grabbing one of them, she snapped it's neck and quickly began to suck at it's blood. After another bunny and a squirrel she seemed like she was satisfied... for now. Turning back to Emmett, Lizzie moved swiftly and gracefully. She jumped into his arms, and he wrapped his around her. She asked him how she did, and he smiled at her. Emmett told her that she did great. Then he asked her how she felt. Lizzie's brow furrowed as she figured just how to answer that question. I feel... full for now at least." She said, content.

This blood satisfied her thirst only a little bit. These animals didn't smell as good as Rose had at the house. No, no, no, she couldn't think that. That was her best friend! Lizzie wondered how she looked. She hadn't gotten a look at herself since she had been changed. But she knew sort of what she would look like. She would have the pale skin, the hard body, and the beautiful features. The only thing bad about her were her eyes. They wouldn't be her light blue anymore. They would be blood red. But how long would they be like that? She was almost too afraid to ask. Lizzie was almost too afraid to see how she looked. Without warning, Emmett wrapped her in his arms and began taking her somewhere. Lizzie gasped at the sight. She could see everything for miles. "Will I ever get used to this?" She asked. Her voice still surprised her. Emmett took them to a small clearing, and he set her down on a huge rock. She watched Emmett closely. He looked like he wanted to tell her something. Maybe this was what he had been so cryptic about earlier. Lizzie felt his eyes on her, like he was gauging something. This felt weird. Sure it was Emmett, her Emmett. But everyone had been staring at her like that since she had changed.

But Lizzie knew they were all worried about her. And that was only natural. She watched him just as closely as he was watching her. He seemed to be thinking about something. There was a cloud of worry and concern on his face. But within an instant it was gone and his hands were on his hips. He looked sort of funny like that. But Lizzie knew he wanted to tell her something serious. Emmett had never been good with something like this. Then the minutes seemed to drag on forever, before he finally spoke up. He asked her if she remembered when he talked about the Voltauri. Lizzie furrowed her eyebrow as she tried to remember what he had said. Her human memories were fuzzy and clouded. It took her a moment to find the right memory. She nodded her head. What he had told her was very little. And basically it had been a joke. But now he told her what was going on. The Voltauri were coming here to check in on her. But she couldn't forget about Rose or Bella. They would probably want to check in on them too. Then he told her that she shouldn't worry about anything. That she had been changed and that she wasn't causing any harm. That the Voltauri would just tell her their little rules, and try and scare her. Em shrugged as if it was no big deal. But it was! Then he told her not to let them intimidate her, and not to push any buttons.

Lizzie didn't think she would be pushing any buttons if she could help it. And she did notice his wink, it made her smile slightly. But she was more worried than amused. They had so many things to worry about and to fix, and now they had this on top of it all. She closed her eyes and took deep breaths. Lizzie was just trying to sort through all of this information. And it didn't take her long. With her vampire mind, and vampire reflexes it took a lot less time to wrap her head around things. But she still stayed silent. Lizzie wondered how many of the Voltauri would show up. If they had any powers. And if they did have powers, would they use it on her. What if they didn't think she was a good enough vampire? What if they wanted to kill her right then an there, not even give her a chance? Lizzie knew she should probably say something. Em would probably get worried that she wasn't speaking. And the tension was thick here. Emmett finally broke the silence. He said that it should be too long, and that it should be over quickly. That they just want to check in on her and Rose and Bella, the humans of the group. Then he said that they were pretty sure they are just nervous about our group, and how big it is getting. Then Emmett mentioned how Alice saw that they just send their little henchman to see them. And then he stopped speaking. "Emmett, I'm scared. I know you told me not to be. And not to let them get to me, but well it's a little scary." She admitted, still sitting on the rock. Lizzie looked down and wouldn't look at him. "What if they don't think I'm a good enough vampire? What if they want to kill me right then and there without even giving me a chance? Or what if I do or say something stupid?" She asked. Lizzie began to fidget with her hands. She knew it wasn't a necessary habit but it was one she had done when she was human. And then her other worries were brought to the surface. "And what about my mother. What if they go after her and eat her as a snack because I can't be with her now. I mean what will we tell her about me? We'll have to go away for a bit, you and I." She said. Lizzie didn't even realize she was up off of the rock and was now pacing in front of Emmett. She took deep breaths, smelling the piny freshness that was the forest. "It's just none of this was the perfect timing and I just, I'm scared." She said.

Bryony and Seth were still inside the house. She watched Seth closely for a moment. He seemed to be very relieved to be going outside. Bryony felt more relaxed too. Although it was quite easy for her to feel relieved around his mother. Bryony could already tell she liked the woman. Maybe not Leah, but well, she and Leah would have time to work out their differences. Seth seemed to be thinking about something, although she wasn't sure what he was thinking about. Bryony was just trying to figure out when Leah would come back and what kind of a mood she was in. She hoped that it wouldn't be too soon, but you never knew. Bryony was so absorbed in her own thoughts she hadn't even realized that Seth had gotten up off of his seat, and was now pulling her outside. Once they were out there in the comfort of silence he apologized. Bry lifted a brow in his direction, but he quickly explained that he was sorry about Leah. "It's ok Seth. I knew going into this meeting the family thing wasn't going to be easy. Especially with her." She said, putting a smile on her face. Then he told her not to take it personally. That she was just cranky alot, and that she is super jealous of him imprinting on her. "I get it Seth. But she's your sister and we'll have to learn how to get along with one another. Because I'm not going anywhere, and neither is she." She said defiantly. But then a mischievous spark came into her eye. Lily was having quite the affect on her. "What if Leah had someone who liked her?" Bryony asked, curiously. Maybe if they could set Leah up with someone, the girl wouldn't be so unhappy all the time.

As they were outside, she looked to Seth. Bryony wasn't quite sure what she should do. He grabbed a broom and started brushing off all the dust, leaves, and anything else that was on the table onto the ground. Within a second, Mrs. Clearwater came out with a tablecloth and the dishes that they would need. She said that Jacob and Billy were on the way and that she would be in the kitchen. Bry thanked her, and smiled. It didn't take the two of them long to get the tablecloth on the table. Then they set out the plates. The only thing left to do were set out the cups. But it wouldn't be smart to set those out now, because the wind would just blow them away. They were finally done. And Bryony was satisfied with their little set up. It seemed that Seth was also satisfied with that as well. The young boy was already sitting down and stretching out. She laughed at him.

Then he thanked her for meeting his family. Seth said that he knew it wasn't much, but that he was glad she did. Then he said he was quite sure that his mother already loved her. Bryony blushed, embarrassed by the fact that Seth's mom already loved her. She stepped closer to him, and sat down next to him on the bench. Bryony turned so she was looking at him and smiled. "Seth, you went and met both my mother and my father together. It was only fair that I do the same for you. Plus it wasn't bad at all. There was a slight bump in the road because of Leah. But I love you, and that's never going to change." She said, smiling. Seth reached out for her hand, but then brought it back as a voice came towards them. Bryony pulled away a little and blushed as she saw a tall russet skinned boy, with a smirk on his face. He was telling them to be careful with the PDA. This was obviously Jake then. "Hi..." She said a little awkwardly and shy. Jake just grinned. Then the adults started to come out with the food. Everything looked delicious. They had just started when her phone began to ring.

Bryony blushed and excused herself. She walked a few steps away, knowing full well that both Jake and Seth would be able to hear both ends of the conversation. Her sister started speed talking. Bryony interrupted her sister. "Hold on, slow down." Her sister spoke slower, and told her what was going on. Bry told her sister she would be right over, and to stay at Emily's. Then she walked over to where everyone was, looking at her with concern on their faces. "Seth, can you walk with me to Emily and Sam's house, I have to see my sister. I'm sorry I can't stay for dinner Mrs. Clearwater, there's a problem with my sister." She said, looking embarrassed and sorry. Mrs. Clearwater smiled. "Don't worry dear, we'll just reschedule for some other time." She said. Then Bry looked at Seth, and asked if he was ready to go.

                I was pregnant.
The pink plus sign on the test had confirmed that.
                +
                I hadn't told Ethan yet.

                He was my life.
But now I had another life to think about.

Another life to help nurture and grow.
I closed my eyes, placed a small hand on my belly, and listened to the music flow through me.
                His music. My boyfriends.
I was right out in front, smiling, and letting the music fill me.
His voice could soothe me anytime. That's how I knew everything would be ok.
He was singing to me. Opening my eyes, I saw him looking at Maddie.
                A strong pang of j e a l o u s y flowed through me.
                I knew I shouldn't react this way.
But I couldn't help it. She had been with him from the beginning, his best friend.
There was always that fear that he would run to her instead of me.

I turned my thoughts back to his music. Him singing he had given his heart up to music and fame.
I loved Ethan with all my heart, and he me. I had nothing to worry about.
Only this baby and how we were going to make everything work.
And I had made up my mind. I was telling him tonight.

They finished their song. And this was my chance.
I slipped out of the little bar and over to the back room where the band would be.
I beat them there, no surprise there.
It didn't take them long to get from the stage here.
I smiled when Ethan came in. He smiled at me, and my whole world got just a little brighter.
Maddie and Jet are sitting on the couch, I ignore her glare at me.
All I can see is Dare.

"Hey babe. I didn't think you'd come tonight." He says.
Even though we both know that's a lie.
I smile, thought it's sort of forced. I am so nervous.
                Ethan can tell.
                Well here it goes.

"Ethan, I need to tell you something. There's no easy way to say this, so I'm just going to say it," I say, not looking him in the eyes. I start fidgeting with my dress. Taking a deep breath I look him dead in the eyes as I say this, "Ethan, you're going to be a daddy! I'm pregnant!" I say, excited about this fact. I know he'll be a good dad, and I'll be a good mom, even if I am scared shitless.

                  Another night at the bar.
Another lonely night listening to this band, and stupid drunks tell me all their problems.
I got s**t to worry about for myself. Like how I'm going to make rent this month.
How to get my parents off my back.
Whether or not I'm going to get laid again tonight, or if I'm going to find a wholesome girl to settle down with.

The bass sounds and the drums beat. It's that regular band that plays here all the time.
But money is tight. And we can't be paying them to play every single night. No matter how many fans they have in this club.
But at least I don't have to be the one to tell them that they can't play.
The manager already told them that.
I look at the small brunette in the center of the audience. She always comes and sees them play.
                  She's the lead singers girlfriend.
I find it weird she hasn't had one thing to drink tonight.
Normally she has at least one drink.

I look to the cute guitarist on stage. She's pretty.
Every time she comes in here, I always give her free drinks.
She is always in a shitty mood after she gets done.
I always wonder why, and she always says it's because that other girl is here.
Whatever, this guitarist didn't need this douchebag singer. She needed someone like him to take care of her.

I'm a pretty good guy. And I'm getting tired of chasing tail and that's all it ever is.
No one wants to be with me
The band finishes there song. The lead singers girlfriend goes to the back room.
I stand there watching as the band exits stage left.
                  And there goes the heartbroken a n g e l.
Can't she see that I'm the one to take all her p a i n away?

                  That's it!
Tonight she's going to know that I'm the one she should be with.
I grab a shot glass, and pour the strongest thing I can find. I throw it back.
Then grabbing the bottle, and another glass, I close up the bar.
I head to the room where the dark angel is rushing outside. She nearly runs into me.
With a free hand, I steady her, and tell her to stop.
I pour a shot for her and myself.
"Here, take this, you look like hell." I say, holding the shot out to her.

State dinners were always so boring. They were always the same. Full of bureaucrats and people who wanted things from him. He was the king after all. But he couldn't stop looking at Analise. She was just so pretty. But he shouldn't be thinking about her. Thinking about her just made him want her all the more. Alaine was staring at him. She was glaring at him for staring at Analise. So he decided to stare at her for a bit. She was French. That's why his parents had arranged this marriage with her. An alliance between France and England would be good. France was very greedy and they wanted more land and riches for themselves. But England would have an alliance a kingdom with access to many ports. And that is always a good thing. His father was talking to his mother. They were whispering something to each other. Gregory just rolled his eyes. He looked to Alaine. "Parlez vous anglais?" He asked in French. Gregory wasn't quite sure how much English the girl actually knew. "Oui, Je parlais anglais." She said.

If the girl knew English than why didn't she just answer him in English? Gregory rolled his eyes again and huffed, already bored with his betrothed. The young male felt someone staring at him. He looked to see that Victoria St. Claire, Analise's older sister was staring at him. He looked at her, and when she caught his eye, he winked at her. The girl blushed and looked away from him. She was beautiful, but he liked her sister more. But Gregory didn't love Analise. No he didn't love anybody. The only thing that was important was him. The King of England. And now, Alaine was important. "Do you like England?" He asked Alaine. Gregory tried to make polite conversation. "England is a very nice country. I am honored to be calling this wonderful country my home." Alaine said. Gregory nodded his head. She had been taught well. Because if she had said she missed her home or her parents, he would have gotten very angry. Gregory didn't like to admit it, but he was an easily angered man. And she would do well to please him.

Gregory caught sight of his parents, and they looked pleased of his interaction with Alaine. Alaine was a gorgeous girl. And her parents had assured his parents that she was fertile and got her monthly courses right on schedule. That was a very important thing. Because as soon as they were married he was going to have his way with her. He needed to create an heir. Make sure that his line was carried down. A girl would be good, but a boy would be absolutely perfect. Alaine was the only daughter of Pierre and Evangeline LeBeau, the rest were boys. So there was a perfectly good chance she would carry a boy for him. But a pang of guilt filled his stomach when he looked at Analise eating her dinner. He felt a strong affection for her. But that was all that it was. She was good in bed, and pleased his appetite. But Gregory could not marry her. She was betrothed to someone else. Analise was from good stock, and her reputation had been very good. That is until Gregory got a hold of her. As soon as he had set her eyes on her, he knew he had to have her.

But any child of his that she might be carrying would be a b*****d. Gregory would be unable to claim his as his own. Nor would that son be able to take the throne. But he shouldn't be thinking of that. As much as he would like to make Analise his wife, he couldn't. Maybe if she had been a virgin still and more like her sister Victoria he might have been able to marry her. But his parents were so greedy. Gregory turned his attention to Charles, one of his closest confidants and a noble gentleman. "How is your estate, Sir Charles?" He asked his friend. Gregory needed to get his mind off of things. Like his growing desire for Analise. That was growing minute by minute. Then with his attention still on Charles, he leaned towards Analise, who was seated to his right. "Come to me tonight?" He asked, inviting her to his rooms for the night. A smile on his lips as he leaned away from her. Alaine looking uninterested, but he knew that her eyes were on the two of them. Just as Victoria's eyes were on them.

Teagan Edwards got out of bed. Today was going to be a good day. It had long been since Lord Voldemort was at his height. And the Amazing Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, had defeated him. It made her feel good that someone as brave as Harry had gone up against someone who seemed so terrible. But now, people like her, witches and wizards who were muggle-born didn't have to fear for their lives. And that to her was a good thing. The girl got up and made her way to her trunk. It was a weekend, so she didn't have to worry about classes or anything today. Although Teagan was quite unsure of what exactly she would be doing today. It wasn't a Hogsmeade weekend, and it wasn't a holiday break either. So she would have to find something to keep herself occupied. Teagan thought about going to visit Hagrid, but she had done that yesterday. And she really wasn't in the mood to eat hard cookies. She could go to the Quidditch Pitch, and practice her beating skills. She was captain of the Hufflepuff quidditch team. And the season was going to start soon.

So that was decided. Teagan would go to the Quidditch pitch, and practice beating the bludgers at different targets! She was so excited, now that she had a plan. Teagan pulled out her clothes and put them on. Then she quickly made her bed. Teagan hated a messy bed. The girls in her dormitory were still asleep, but a few however, were up and out of bed. She wondered where they could be off to? The happy Hufflepuff left the sleeping girls in her dormitory. Teagan grabbed her broom from her trunk, and then began to walk. She stuffed two cotton balls into her ears, and said a charm. Then music began to flow from them. Teagan looked at herself up and down. There was something missing. Pulling out her wand, the muggleborn girl charmed her socks. Now every time she took a step, they changed different colors. Now everything was perfect! The blonde stood there and watched as she stomped her foot. Her feet went from white to yellow, to blue and pink then purple. And then it started all over again.

With her broom in hand, Teagan descended the stairs two at a time. She was still amused by the socks changing colors. She bobbed her head to the music. It didn't take her long to get down to the entrance hall. Students were milling about. Some Teagan knew, others she didn't. They all ranged from different years. Most people here were very nice and friendly. Except for the Slytherins. Most of them were pretty mean. But Teagan never let them get to her. They always tried to hurt her feelings, and make fun of her. But someone always helped her out of that mess. And Teagan was always thankful for that. Opening the huge front doors, she was greeted by a nice fall breeze. The girl started to skip towards the quidditch field. This was her home away from home. Closing her eyes, Teagan stood on the field and just smelled everything there was to it. The grass, and dew. God she loved this smell. Walking over to the quidditch supplies she had brought out, Teagan opened the trunk and let the two bludgers escape.

Putting her broom in the air, she mounted it, and immediately kicked off. Laughing as she flew higher and higher in the air. This was such a free feeling. Teagan opened her eyes. She scanned the area for the bludgers. Her beater stick tight in her hand. The girl wasn't good at much of anything, but this, this was her calling. This is what she wanted to be. Finally she caught sight of one of the bludgers, and went after it. With the rush of speed, Teagan caught up to the bludger in no time. She took a big swing, and aimed and the bludger went exactly where she had imagined it. And it had hit the person she imagined was flying right there. But then all of a sudden it took a turn for the worse.

Teagan was beginning to lose control of her broom. She couldn't get it to move in the direction she wanted it to. Her heart started racing and she was being thrashed around on this broom. Teagan couldn't understand why it would start doing something like this all of a sudden. But as she was thrashing and bucking around, she could see a group of students with their wands in the air. They were most likely Slytherins. But this, this wasn't funny. She could get hurt, and they didn't even care! Teagan squeaked trying to alert someone of her being flung around on her broom. It got so bad, and she couldn't get to her wand without falling off. Teagan couldn't hold any longer, her grip was slipping. Reaching one last time, she tried to keep hold of her broom. But it was no use. She was falling, and falling fast. The scream ripped from her throat. Teagan didn't know how long it had taken but she looked and was getting closer and closer to the ground. She closed her eyes, and waited for her body to crash and go splat on the ground. But instead of hitting the hard ground, she hit something warm and strong. A pair of arms, or what she thought was a pair of arms was holding her. Teagan opened one eye, and stared up into the face of Joshua Oakes. "Um, you saved me?" She said.

I stood there and smiled. My heart racing.
                My palms had started sweating.
I was so nervous so unbelievably nervous.
I had told him the secret I had known for only a little while.
                Something stirred.

I turn my attention towards it.
                Towards h e r.
She's trying to get out of the room and looks extremely hurt and upset.
Is it really all m y fault?
What had I ever done to her?

The words are out of my mouth.
I can't take them back, nor can I change the situation that we're in.
My eyes focus on Ethan, now that she's gone
He's just standing there, staring at me.
There's a look of complete shock on his face.
I'm looking for signs that he's unhappy with my news, or that he is happy.
That would be the best thing he could give me. If he were happy about this, like I am.
                But there's nothing there.

                Say something, say anything.
Just let me know you heard what I said.
Now with the silence in the room, I'm scared that he'll be mad at me.
The excitement I once held about telling him is gone.

                Gone in an instant

Now I'm filled with worry, and nervousness.

I watch as Ethan opens his mouth.
                He's finally going to speak.

                  "You... What?"

Really that's all he had to say to me? God men!
"I'm pregnant, Ethan. You're going to be a dad, and I'm going to be a mom."

I get quiet again, waiting for him to speak.
                  "That... That's great!"
He says, even though I can tell he's not excited one bit about this.
That makes me sad that he isn't happy. Tears start to p***k my eyes.

              "You're unhappy?"
I ask in a very small voice.
              "Ethan..."
I say, trying to come up with the right words to express how I feel.

Before I can say anything else, he takes a step forward towards me.
I watch through blurry eyes as he puts his arms around me.
It feels good to have him this close.
            To hear his heartbeat.
I try and look up into his face, but I can't.
I take one hand, and I grab Ethan's large calloused one in mine. I bring it and place it on my stomach, with mine on top of his.

"Ethan, we made a baby. One made from love. I love you. Don't worry, somehow will make this work. You don't have to give up your music. I can get another job. Just please, please don't make me get rid of the baby."
I say and that when I start crying, really crying. Kent and Jet realize we need a "private moment" and get up and leave.
And I'm just standing there with Ethan's strong hand on my stomach, crying my eyes out, fighting for us, for this baby.

                  She looks so b e a u t i f u l yet b r o k e n at the same time.
It hurts to see her this way.
To see her so [********] up, that she has to drink away her problems.
And they are all because of him.

I hand her the shot, and watch as she downs it.
Right then and there, I just want to tell her everything will be all right.
That he's not the guy for her.
                  That I am.
But I know she'll never listen to me.
                  She loves him.

                  She looks back to t h e m.
Her small hand grabs mine, and she starts tugging me.
I want to ask her where we're going, but I've learned to keep my mouth shut.
Could it be the start of u s?

I follow her, and begin to think of the things I should say.
Or maybe I shouldn't say anything to her.
It really is none of my business.
I stay silent, the booze and my shot glass in hand.
She seems determined to get away from t h e m.

She opens the door leading to where the employees go and smoke.
I'm assaulted by the cool night air.
Maddie drops my arm and stands by the wall.
I watch as the beautiful mess in front of me slides down the wall.

                    "More please?"
she asks me, holding out her shot glass desperately.
                  I can't do it.
                  Not tonight.
I know she needs it, but I have other things in mind.

I kneel down in front of her and smile.
My hands cup her face so she is looking at me.
"I can treat you so much better. Forget about him."
                  I say.
And then my lips come crashing down on h e r s.
                  I want to k i s s away her p a i n.
If only I could make her love m e

I watched Ethan closely. He was tense.
I asked him if he was unhappy.

                    "I'm not unhappy."
                He said, frowning.
I just wanted to kiss the frown away.
Maybe I shouldn't have told him, but he would find out soon enough. Especially when I was puking my guts out in the mornings.
What he said was true. He didn't look unhappy, but he didn't look excited either.
                He wasn't h a p p y like me.

                I tried to reassure him.
                I needed to remain p o s i t i v e.
I told him that we would find a way.
He wouldn't have to give up his music. I would get another job, if I needed to.
But I didn't think he was completely reassured.

I moved his hand and placed it on my stomach.
I needed to show him, that this wasn't a bad thing. It was a life.
                It was sweet and innocent.
Ethan pulled away and it made me think he didn't want it.
He looked just as scared as I felt. But I wasn't too scared, I was happy.
                Couldn't he just be happy?

                Tears are falling down.
                He's just s t a n d i n g there.
This wasn't how I wanted this to go.
This was supposed to be a happy occasion.
                We were bringing a l i f e into this world.

Then I tell him not to make me get rid of the baby.
                Our baby.
                    "Get... Get rid of it?"

I simply nod, tears flowing freely from my eyes.
            A few moments go by.

            Then he speaks.

"Oh! Oh no! Izzy... I would never suggest something like that.
                Don't worry. It'll be fine."

He says smiling. This one makes me feel slightly better.
I wipe my teary eyes, and smile.

                "I love you, Ethan."
            I say.
It's the one thing I can say right now.

He promises me we'll figure it out.

"I know we will. We'll make it, I swear."
            I tell him.
I take his hand in mine and squeeze it reassuringly.
He tells me that I caught him off guard, and his mind was full of things.

"This wasn't the time or place to tell you, I just didn't know what to do."

Dropping his hand, I step up and wrap my arms around his neck. I step on my tippy toes, and kiss him.
As I pull away, I rest my head on his chest, placing my hand on his heart, where it's beating.
            "Please be happy."
"Let's go home, we both need our rest." I say, trying to be reassuring.
I love him so much, I just want him to be happy about this. I look down at my stomach, there's a little baby growing in there.

she's waiting. Waiting for me. To pour her a drink.
                  But I can't.
I move in front of her, and kneel down.
                  She's looking at me warily.

                  Her brows tug together.
                  She's staring at me.
                  I don't speak.
My hands cup her face so she's looking at me.
Her scrunched brows shoot up in her face.
                  She's surprised, and staring.
                  What do I do?
I tell her that I can treat her so much better than him, to forget about him.

I lean in, my heart turning over, and my breath catching in my throat.
                  She's just staring at me.
                  My lips crash on hers.
                  The taste of a l c o h o l, and salt.
                  Is she crying?

She drops the shot glass from her hand.
                  Miraculously, it doesn't break.
But then what she does, surprises me.
Her arms around my neck, her fingers tangled in my hair.

                  she deepens the kiss.
                  She wants m e
                  This doesn't seem r i g h t.
                  She doesn't love me. She loves h i m.
But I can't stop. I want this so bad, it hurts.

My body and heart are taking over. Shutting my mind out completely.
I pull her closer to me. Running my hands through her dark brown hair.
                  "Maddie, Maddie, Maddie I think.
Her kiss is like a drug to me.
                  I need more.

                  Then she pulls away.
She's panting, and I know her heart is racing.
Because I'm doing the same thing.
                  Then she speaks.

"Let me stay with you tonight." She asks.

It wasn't really a question, more of a statement.
My head is screaming at me not to.
My heart and my d**k are screaming yes.
I don't know what to do.
I know I shouldn't do this, take her home with me.
But she needs me, almost as much as I need her.

"Come on, my apartment is two blocks from here, we can walk." I say, grabbing her small hands in mine, lifting her up.

Arthur Matthew Britton was nervous. Not once in all of his eighteen years had he been as nervous as this. He was a prince, and would soon be king. Matt had been groomed to take over his father's thrown when he came of age. But first he had wanted to experience life a little differently. He didn't want to be Arthur Britton, Prince of England. He had wanted to be just plain Arthur. Or in his case, he was being just plain Matthew. Matthew had seemed a much more inconspicuous name than Arthur to go to college. His parents thought he was crazy. His advisers thought he was opening a huge can of worms, and would just cause problems. The only people who seemed to be on his side, were his servants. Never once had he been able to have a normal life without being asked if he felt alright, or having to do something for the good of his people. So now he was breaking out on his own, and was making changes in his life. Well at least before his coronation and he would become king.

With lots and lots of begging the boy finally convinced everyone to allow him to go to America to study. He had picked NYC University because it was a busy city, full of girls, and a totally new experience for him. Matt had enrolled and gotten accepted, and with that his parents couldn't refuse. Now he had flown all the way from England to New York. Matt was with his body guard, Enzo, and they were hailing a taxi to campus. He had his head out of his window, looking at Times Square, and all the other fantastic places. It smelled different here. It smelled of pizza and car exhaust. Matt was just so excited. There were a group of girls on the sidewalk as they pulled up to a red light. Matt smiled and waved at them. They giggled and whistled at him. Enzo pulled him back into the taxi. Matt grimaced at the man.

The taxi pulled away and sped off down the street. Taxis sure were impatient and sped alot. Not like in England. There was so much Matt would have to get used to here. After some twists and turns the taxi finally pulled to a stop. It was in front of a huge campus. Students were milling around. Probably going to their dorm rooms, some classes, or to eat. Matt's stomach grumbled, and he knew he would have to fulfill that need. Enzo paid the cab driver. Matt got out, and the trunk opened. As soon as he had his bags out of the car, the cab sped off. Enzo and Matt made their way to the Dean's office. The boy got his room assignment. Saying good bye to the over zealous dean, and Enzo, Matt decided to make his way to his dorm room. Enzo wanted to speak with the dean about security and keeping his prince title a secret.

His room was small. There were two beds in the room, and two desks. He wouldn't be rooming with Enzo. Enzo was in another room a single room by himself. But his roommate wasn't there yet. Matt put his things down on the bed that was unoccupied. He sat down and sighed. Running a hand through his dark blonde hair. His stomach grumbled again. Matt knew he would need to go and try and find the cafeteria. But he was going to get lost. He didn't even have a map! Oh well. A little adventure never hurt anyone. Walking out of his dorm room, and locking it up behind him as he did so, Matt made his way back down the way he had come. Exiting this set of dorm rooms, he looked to his left and his right. Matt decided to go right. He wandered aimlessly around, hopelessly lost. Finally he came to a library. He decided to go in but there was no one at the front desk. God where were people when you needed their help? Looking again to his right and left. There his eyes spotted a very attractive young woman, with beautiful honey golden locks. Making his way over to her, he put his best crooked smile on his face. "Excuse me, Ms. But I'm rather famished, and was wondering if you would be so kind as to escort me to the cafeteria?" He said, acting like she had nothing better to do, and that he hadn't just interrupted her studying. Matt was used to getting what he wanted, when he wanted it. And this would be no different here.
