- Eun has a dream about Won Sul, a very harmless dream, but it will be very foreign to her, and she will start acting all skittish around him from a point

“There was a meeting at-“ Her voice trailed off as her eyes wandered to the bridge.

That same bridge where she and Won had spoken last, and he had accused her of being _______. How dare he! She could feel her heart beat tighter in her chest, but this was not an illness. Or perhaps it was? Euns face dropped, what did this mean? She could hardly look back at Cheol when he spoke

“Meeting where? Eun Jae you did not finish your thought, is everything alright?” Cheol tilted his body forward to look at his sister, his arms casually crossed behind his back. Ah…yes. She had been telling Cheol about the King and Kang’s meetings. Or rather, what little she knew of them. Turning her attention back to her brother she continued

“Yes, right, silly me-“ She lifted her hands, lacing her fingers together under her chin. “They meet nearly every afternoon, the only time Father has not met with him is when the Lord Chang visited last week”

“I see…” Cheol murmured, obviously his mind was drifting away by the look on his face.

“What is it you want?”
Cheol blinked.

She was draped in satin striped in a mixture of light blue and purples with a silk bodice pinned against her hip with a golden sapphire pin.

King calls Eun in?
Or Alt. Mama Hwa comes in and says king wants to see her

The middle aged man reached down and picked the apple from the table. He glanced at its red skin in his hands, turning it in his fingers. He smirked, for whatever reason Cheol Min did not understand. _____ tossed the apple slightly into the air, and it flopped directly back into his palm. Once, twice, even three times he tossed it up. What on earth? Without verbal warning _____ whipped the apple side armed.

Far and Fast his arrow flew. The prince didn't see the arrow hit, but he heard the thunk as it hit and fell into the water near by. _____ Chuckled. His hand extended to grab another apple from the basket.

Cheol Drew his bowstring back to his ear turning gracefully to follow his target in flight. The arrow whizzed through the air and this time sliced the apple in half, both sides flopping to the ground. The teetered back and forth for a moment until stopping fully. Cheol watched, until they stopped moving. Listening, he waited for _____ to move again. Was he going to throw another apple? His eyes stayed focused down, his hand grasped tightly to his bow.

"You used to hate that thing."

Eh? His dark eyes wandered over his shoulder, turning on his heel he looked to the man.

"It took me hours and hours to teach you compared to Kang Woo. He was a fast study, eager to please."

Cheol Min scoffed. What did he know?

"But you improved..." The man reached for a third apple, his opposite arm crossed behind his back, the man examined the fruit again.

"Did you ever improve on that last shot?"

Last shot? Cheol Min parted his lips to reply, but ____ had reacted. Tossing the third piece of fruit towards him it whirled through the air. Readying his bow Cheol pulled, but not fast enough. The Apple came barreling at him and whacked his shoulder. Tch What was this old man getting at?

"The last shot, you've always missed. Seems today isn't any different."

Cheol Min huffed. What on earth was that supposed to mean? Cheol was a great shot! The sixth prince unstrung his bow and eased it into its leather case. What did he know!?

Laughing?

Jenny read the email and tried to stifle a laugh.

This list, while exhausting, is soooo not exhaustive; it barely scratches the surface. And each entry could easily become cliché (if it isn’t already). But, it should be enough to get you started. Want more? Start watching people (not in a creepy way), and take notes of what they seem to do when expressing different emotions. Your repertoire of expression will double in no time. PS—do not use these for actual, real-life body language reading; you will fail. These are strictly novelistic.

-Slight, close-lipped smile (occasionally one-sided) and sometimes one raised eyebrow (I know something you don’t know.)
-Chin slightly tucked, Mona Lisa smile, raised eyebrows (I know better.)
-Finger steepling (I am so smaaaht.)

Suspicious/Skeptical/Disbelief

-Narrowed eyes, sometimes with a sidelong glance or raised eyebrow (Perhaps if I look at it out of the corner of my eye, I will catch it unawares.)
-Rubbing his eyes (I can’t believe what I’m metaphorically or literally seeing!)
-Shaking his head (I—I don’t believe it.)
-Blowing out cheeks (Well , I don’t know …)

Tired
-Rubbing his eyes, eyes staring into space, raised eyebrows (Raising my eyebrows helps keep my eyes open.)
-Yawning and/or stretching (I am tired—see? Tired! Too tired to care!)
-Almost nodding off and jerking awake (Cannot. Stay. Awa—snnnnurzzzz.)
-Gritting teeth to stay awake (Cannot—yawn—dang it!)

Thoughtfulness/Thinking

-Steepling fingers (I will think better if I center myself and focus.)
-Pinching nose, sometimes with closed eyes (Focus, focus—I just need to focus.)
-Tugging on an ear (This will help me remember!)
-Stroking a real or imaginary beard (People with beards look smart.)
-Furrowed brow, narrowed eyes, sometimes tilted head and pressing lips together (I can’t see it—I will try harder!)
-Resting his chin on his hand (Thinking makes my head heavy.)

Triumphant
-Hands clenched and held above head while grimacing (She is invincible!)
-Head tilted back with a yell (She is fierce!)
-Arm pumping in the air, jumping (Woohoo!)

Body language stuff!

Looking at Aiden as the prince spoke. Jane opened her mouth to speak but the boy had already began to stomp out of the room. He was shortly stopped by his twin who ruffled his hair, and with a bit of a unsettling mumbling to the prince, Fianna made her way to greet Jane. Jane smiled at her as she approached her, but kept her eye on Aiden as he scuffled out of the room in a fuss. The boy needed to stay! He was not in a position to leave, the princess would enter the room any minute and for him to be gone? That was more than a terrible idea! Jane couldn’t help but look towards her mother and father to see their reaction to the child like actions of the prince. They seemed stern as though they expected such actions from him.

The blonde watched her mother's face look forward in a noble manor. Her stern face always sent a shiver down her spine. There was not much she could refuse when her mother would beckon her to do. She had once permitted her mother, well more or less just agreed that she would meet a very high status duke. Her mother decided that they would go on a horseback ride, but what her mother did not know was her youngest daughter was quite a relentless rider.

That Duke was very confused when Jane had rode in a pair of breeches that day. Her brother had scoffed when he saw her go to the stables- but it was all to her plan you see. She disliked this stuffy pompous duke which she was nearly half his age. The two went about and within the half hour Jane had lost the old duke on the path through the castle paths. By the time Jane had reached back to the castle the duke had departed, saying he was sorry that he had to be rude, but he was feeling ill. This, caused her mother to keep more of a watchful eye on the girl. Jane averted the gaze of her mother when she turned to look at her youngest daughter.

Fianna had entered and Jane wanted to focus on any news she knew that could bring her mind from her brothers inconsiderate acting. The twin princess has mentioned that the Princess of Coren was quite pretty, as well as just as spirited. Jane wondered how this would hold for her brother. He was not one to think of females of much of anything, which made Jane curious of her brother and she’s relation. She loved him as any sister ought, but he was far fetched in his ideas and it frustrated Jane on a daily basis. He was nearly the only person who could frustrate her that way. He was just so wrong on so many levels.

”Ciera has not arrived quite yet. But if Aiden is not here, then why would the rest of need to greet the princess at this time? It’s rather selfish of him!” Jane expressed her irritation in a bit of a wining manor. She was after all the youngest, shouldn’t she be allowed to do something in that way? But…on the same hand, she was nearly of eighteen summers, so being that old she should act a bit different. But it did not always happen the way she always wished. She was to…dare she say it: blunt. About to make another remark, The doors were open and a Page entered to announce the princess’s entrance.

The announcement of the princess was made, and just after the princess and a few of her ladies in waiting appeared before the royal family of Alton. Jane couldn't help but give her a feint smile as the dark haired princess appeared before the court. It was never a fun thing to before any sort of large crowd you did not know- Jane sympathized with the Coren princess when it came to this. The visiting princess wore a red dress, which she wore matching Rubies. Jane had heard from many, the princess of Coren was quite an opinionated person as well as Jane. This was a very happy thought to her ear, but of her brothers? Perhaps like a lot of this worlds chatter was merely a rumor of false action? The youngest Alton princess stood as her mother, father, and sister did as well.

With a nod from her father, the youngest princess took two steps forward. Jane flashed a smile at Princess Elaine and curtsied to her. ”Welcome Princess, I am Princess Jane, It is quite an honor to finally meet you.” With a sustained smile, Jane stepped back towards her chair again. Not sitting quite yet, she wanted to see how the princess would react to it all, and if she would think ill of Aiden due to the fact he had not entered the thrown room when she was here.

Ĕlle Reece Hamersmith

BASICALLY...
I've a name I'm sure...Ĕlle Reece Hamersmith
But I wouldn't know... Elle....That's it.
My age is really of no matter... Seventeen
Though I suppose my gender matters... Female
My allegiance is another matter... Sabaan
I suppose you could also call me... The Cursing Elf
I'm not certain this should be happening... The special Kid.

INSIDE I'M...
My personality... Loud and free spirited is what my family has called me. But truly I am quiet and drawn back, until I feel comfortable, which is not very often. I usually strays away from people as much as possible, but when I'm with people everyone enjoys my company, for the most part. I am the kind of girl who is rather easy to befriend, but you still may have to show that you are truly my friend in different trivial things. I like to know that the few actual friends I have will stand their ground with me and support me even if I am flat out wrong. I will not tell you a lie if something is true, which has caused me a bit of trouble from time to time. I've been known to be an annoyance, and an “Odd duck”. But also cause i am loud and randomly outbursts when i think something needs to be said. My voice says what comes to mind, some call that cocky but some call it inspirational. I just goes with whatever i feel or think at the time. In a way some people have called me Naive, but i'm just me.

An interesting fact about me: I hate people cooking for me. I'd rather do it myself, i love to cook! It's so much fun. Oh, and another reminder: I am also really insecure. People don't think i am, and are surprised at the whispers that im really not confident and animated all the time like I've been shown to be. Weird little thing about me. I seriously am addicted to giving curses. I mean, you might have heard already- but i'd prefer you not to spread it. It's a little thing that i've recently figured out that is not something i should be doing. Now- being the good elf i am i'm trying to repent and hope one day that Seda and Keir will forgive my actions against humans that really haven't done anything to me! They've just looked at me queer, or stepped on a twig in a specific manor that caught my eye. I'm starting to realize things about myself recently that i'm not all that sure about yet.

I have to admit other than Cursing, i do love other things. What you might ask? I absolutely adore strawberries. They are my favorite food, and plus they smell so sweet! Due to my father I have learned a real appreciation of reading. Reading anything is very relaxing for me. It can calm me down when angry, or keep me from cursing when i shouldn't. It's a lovely out-lit for me. Things i dislike? Oh, that's easy. Fish, they are yucky, smell bad, and slightly scary... But that's not something many people know about me. It's sort of odd. I also really dislike thunder. It's very loud and unnecessary. Oh, and another thing that irritates me? Well..You'll find out. I've learned recently that people who don't do things I wish- really frustrate me. I've recently met this boy who apparently the gods have given a special gift. I fear that I need to Pray to get the strength to not take him out with an arrow- since for some odd reason my curses do not work. Yeah, don't get me started on that!

MY LIFE...
My history... I've grown up like a usual elf would, well for the most part. Taught to respect nature by giving thanks to Seda and Keir when needed and pray for direction in life. My family had lived in Carsel for as long as my grandmother could remember. Sure, we might be immortal- Our spirits that is. Our bodies eventually wither and must be remade. I’ve just been born, my first body is only Eighteen, so in elf years, I might as well be like a toddler. Our families, are of spirits in the same trees. It is similar to the human families, just we regenerate, as we create more. My father and Mother spent most of their five life-spans in the city of Carsel. My father is a most skilled creator, who helps remake elves prior bodies. I’ve seen it done once before. By my grandfather, it was very odd, and I’m still not sure what to think of it- but I, like everyone else bring praise towards Keir and Seda to help us every time we must remake a new elves body. At the age I am now, I’ve grown very little in the eyes of my people, but to me- I’ve done enough living for a thousand body elder.

See, most of those in my race have the ability to Curse, it’s very common to do among our people. But, me? I’ve got a bit of an addiction. I’m not sure how it happened but I just…I just can’t stop! Any little noise, disruptance, or odd glance a human or other creature would give me- They would be sadly mistaken the next morning when they woke up with Fins, or whatever random thing I could think of at the time. This went on for a good year or more before i finally saw the light. It must have been time for the Gods to give me a wake up call- because now i can only think of making my way through Vires in search of those who i have cursed. The first I know of that I am needing to find is The Cursed Traitor. She was the first, and now she must be the first i reverse to normal. It will be a good thing for me to start my task to go as quick as I can. Simply so I can move past this part in my life and go on. But alas, this Doesn’t seem to be what I can do. There is this pesky guy who stumbled upon me in the woods.

In attempt to rejuvenate, I decided to take a dip in a lake that I had purified. The small source of water was not hard to clean, but after doing such a task it was a good idea to relax and renew my strength. But, as this seemed an inconvenient time for the special kid- he came across me. Infuriated in his actions I attempted to curse him. Well, I know I am trying to give it up and all- but what the heck is his problem!? Why didn’t he watch where he was going? I have to admit, I guess it was a bit of being embarrassed, but still! The boy before me needed to be taught a lesson. But…It…didn’t work! I still don’t understand why, but it would really be nice if he stopped following me! It’s really not something he should do. I need time to chill out or he is going to get an arrow in the head, and believe me- I don’t forget things.

AND LASTLY...
I'm not really me...? iSovay

Nicolas had sat down at the table, and began his meal when Isabella entered the large hall. He took a glance at the woman as she sat down near the king. With a bit of diapointment in his stomach, he took a sip of his goblet. It seemed the queen picked up on her ‘odd behavior’ and mumbled about her sitting next to him. He pulled his cups from his lips and shook his head. ”Madam, I assure you it is not in the least-“ But before he could muster up an excuse to have Isabella sit where she chose, the princess appeased her mother. Inhaling a breath as Isabella sat next to him, he placed the goblet on the table. Perhaps she would not be ill with her mother forcing her to move?

                                                      Or…perhaps not.

Nicolas shifted a bit in his chair as he adjusted to Isabella’s apparent sigh. He’d heard it, her mother heard it, and It made Nicolas feel a bit guilty. Why must she sit right aside him? He was not in a hurry to make her to what she wished not to. For, the moment he did that- she would loath him even more than she did at this moment in time. Nicolas glanced towards the beautiful princess as she mumbled a hello. He returned her comment with a smile, before the queen began again.

Oh rubbish. The queen always seemed to dabble on about anything that struck her as odd, or improper. When the rest of the court would not notice in the least bit. This time, the queen commented on Isabella’s dress. With a curious gaze, he looked briefly, for he did not want to offend, at the garment that his betrothal wore. As it stood he found nothing ill about it. But, you could place Isabella in a potato sack, and she would wear it suitably. She’d never wear one of coarse, but you under stand what he meant. He thought she was simply lovely at all times, no matter what she wore.

The queen was replied to, as Nicolas tried to keep himself from the conversation. It was not at all his business. He took a piece of bread from his place, and as he tore it in two, he took a bite. With only a moment passing by, Isabella replied to her mother with a wry sort of tone to her voice. Sewing? Oh…Well, that was a pity. Nicolas could feel his face drop as the princess trailed off in her comments. Would the lovely maiden really be trapped in the castle all day? For he thought he might be able to ride with her, as well as the other’s of the court of coarse. But he was most excited to be able to ride with his betrothal….

Taking another weak bite of his bread, his day brightened slightly as the queen spoke. It seemed his dear Isabella was not stuck in her chamber for the day, and the ride almost instantly became much more of an ideal way to spend a majority of his day. As the queen finished pushing Isabella to Nicolas’s schedule, he replied to the queen. Despite his wish to keep out of the queen’s eyes it seemed Nicolas and Isabella often were but to her so called ‘match making’ skills. They both had not much of a choice when the queen decided their daily fate, and oh she was very tricky about it.

Nicolas opened his mouth to speak, as he glanced at Isabella. Would she prefer to ride today? What about with the group? What would she enjoy most? The two once had been quite the friends, but that changed when their parents decided other arrangements for them. Sure, he had always thought Isabella the beauty, but once they were announced to be married it took Nicolas a while to bring himself to feel the emotions he now did for the princess. At first, they both mocked bout the idea as though it would never actually happen. But as time passed and plans were made, they changed to each other.

Perhaps” He mused as he looked towards Isabella. She seemed generally eager to go and ride today, so that might be the best for them to do, yes? The brunette caught her gaze, as he looked up at him, with a smile on her face. Her expression was so plesant, and Nicolas could not pull himself to say anything other than a ride. And to take her from her sisters while they did so? That would be terrible of him. ”Your majesty, I had planned on accompanying my brother, which would intale him to your son, and your son to Princess Elaine and the youngest Princess. So Isabella and I would due well from a ride with our siblings, don’t you agree?” The queen gazed at the young Viceroy with a ice gold stare, attempting to see through him. But as long as Isabella wished for something, he would try to help her achieve whatever it might be. And this afternoon Isabella wished to ride.

The queen remained silent for a moment as she looked the two over. It was as though she suspected them to not actually go ride? Had he given the woman any indication other wise? She only nodded at the idea, for once not allowing herself to comment. Nicolas looked to Isabella as the queen turned her gaze to a member of the court aside her. "Does that sound fitting to you princess?"

With apparently no respect for you know those things that are suppose to keep people out, what are those? Oh, yeah Doors. Apparently James didn’t know how to use them. That wasn’t really the shocking part though. It was just, him. He stood before her, and her being dumb- stood too. With a frustrated exterior that was inside, freaking crazy. She’d admit that to anyone by now. But hell, James was the reason she was so berserk! But making things worse he pulled her to him in only the way he could. The way that made her melt, as he kissed her forehead she took a shallow breath. What was going on? Why was she so, Ugh!?

She felt an odd twinge in her nose, it wasn’t a smell, but the emotion building up to the point where she felt she might actually cry. She was so, what the heck was it? She just…Inhaling a deep breath she held it as she closed her eyes, taking in the moment that they shouldn’t have even shared. Just like that, he broke away to reach for one of those gross beers he drank. Bailey hated alcohol. She wasn’t even sure why she kept his beer in the fridge. It was just, mental. But at this point, maybe she really was? How would she know the wiser? Turing from the man, she needed to just stop this. It was too much. She could feel her eyes beginning to twinge like her nose and every part of her body just wanted to drop and cry. Can you say, pathetic? Because apparently Patricia Bailey Farell was pro at it.

Taking a step from where she’d followed him down towards, she turned. Taking a bite of her fro yo, she grumbled under her breath as he disappeared into her kitchen. She heard him rumble off more comments that she was trying to drown out with the last few bits of cheesecake in her yogurt. Before she knew it though, she was facing the man and his lips were pressed to hers. He ran his hands through her hair, and made it seems so, so, what was it?

                                  Meaningful.

But, that can’t be it. That couldn’t! James was just…James, his usual pompous self. But at this time she just felt her whole body wanting to cry. Wanting to just push him away, she just couldn’t. Instead thought, she did something worse. The cup of yogurt in her hand, yeah. It hit the ground, and ran across her bare foot. There really wasn’t anything left in it. Just a bit that she’d ignored eating while she watched pride and prejudice. But still, the initial shock of it all. Jumping back from the moment due to the shock of well, a combination of the cold on her toes, and James in general. ”Oh, hell!” Her tone rang out in a frustrated manor. She looked at the floor as James Muttered something in spite. Was he not going to finish? She was already just frustrated as heck with him. Before she could regain herself, the boy stepped back out of the house. Throwing her hands in the air she grumbled. And people thought she was crazy?

Reaching for her coat, she slid it over her baggy shirt, and pj shorts. Ignoring shoes, she reached for her key to the bistro. She needed to cook, and her own kitchen? It was not stocked with much other than James beer he persisted on having, and maybe some sliced turkey. But other than that? Probably nothing. Yanking the front door open, she slammed it close behind her in time to hear James mumble something about getting drunk. She rolled her eyes. That was like all he wanted to do. And for now, she didn't care! Well, that wasn't all that true, but...Still! Patricia pulled her coat to her body as she stormed passed James.

Reluctant to not say anything to the man, he mumbled a good bye and something about her being crazy. Of coarse she was! Well, She didn't start out crazy. With a lowered brow she grumbled,"You know what James? I wans't always this crazy!"
She inhaled deep, and began. She really should have just...walked away. But Bailey was, well herself. She needed the last word. But, James was the same way and by this time they both had probably the same tally if you sat down and looked at it when it came to any argument or fight. "And you know something?" She stood in front of James now, her finger pointed upward at the male who was, obviously taller than she was. "Its hard to find the good when its with you. You're always being such a Jackass, and when you're not, that's not you." she let her words linger for a moment. Hell even to her sometimes she sounded crazy.

"True, I can't stand it when your such a pig, but when you are- I can still find something good in you. Something true, not just a brittish jerk who wants to get into my pants!" Exhaling in exuberant breaths, she pulled her coat back to her and grumbled "You make it sound like I'm the crazy one. But, you know something? I got mad tonight because usually if we go out to diner, we argue, we banter back and forth, but even when that is the case I know that it's not fake. But this, whatever you want to call it is just too much. " Taking a step back from the blonde she had so many thoughts rushing through her mind. There was so much, so many things that she loved about him, but not the one who was always ignorant to what he had in front of him. It was a holiday tomorrow, what about every other night of the week? And why did they have go go anywhere?

Taking another few steps back she could feel her toes getting cold under her. She should leave, and just get away from him. The man that had strung her around like she would always come back. It didn't need to be fancy, and a show of his money all the time. It just needed to be him. The one she'd convinced to sit and watch the stars, despite not having any alcohol, or anything. Maybe that's what she should have grasped to? No. She had to just, get away. The man before her only appeared when he wanted. Well, sort of. She hadn't talked to him in a few days, and he must have just really wanted to bang. She always had to find the 'right' day to try and plan something.

Pulling away again, she turned. "If you think i'm such a nut then maybe this is good? I can't keep just doing this...This mess of nothing. Were going back and forth, and every day is like a battle between the two of us. And you can't just tell me that it's my fault cause you've had some temper-tantrums too. " She felt herself going a bit off subject, shaking her head she finished. "Anyway James. I can't do this anymore. I need to focus on my career, and actually a way to make a life. Not some one night stand that I know how to contact. I need you to be there. To wake up in the morning and know that I wont just see my alarm clock where your head was. I need to go." She said as she felt her eyes welding up. This jerk-face just. Ugh. It was time to go. With a wave she pulled away, and down the sidewalk. It was done. That's what needed to happen. Simple as that. And hopefully this time, she'd stay to her word.

But for now, she needed to cook.

Our Resourceful Slytherins
Driven, Cunning, and Subtle.
"Look well into thyself; there is a source of strength which will always spring up if you wilt always look there." - Marcus Aurelius

Slytherins are often considered "punk" or "gothic" but this is as far from the truth as possible. The Slytherin's House is a realm of old and prominent all-wizarding families. With this, it is also the house of well developed traditions. A Slytherin's battle cry cannot be "rip the system" because the Slytherins are the system. Besides, Slytherin's know that you cannot succeed in this world alone, you need friends but not just any friends. Their friends must also be driven and cunning but also trustworthy. This is the reason that Slytherins are so focused on the need to be pure-blood. They see other purebloods as having the same interests and family history. These connections are based on strong but calculated lines of trust; they can be cut at any time.

All of the traditional Slytherin characteristics, such as subtleness, cunning, and ambition, cannot be developed without a healthy sense of self. A Slytherin is not inherently selfish, but they are ferociously independent. The fact that one may lead to the other does not change the fact that there is a distinct difference. They know themselves in every aspect, from the dominating characteristics to the subtle nuances. If one knows their weaknesses they may correct them and if they know their strengths they can apply them. This is the only platform for which a truly successful and goal-driven individual can be based.

Of course, the internal world is not everything. A person too focused internally is not motivated to accomplish much of anything worthwhile. One important thing to address that affects a person's ability both to know themselves and their environment is intelligence. Where the Ravenclaws value the process of learning, Slytherins are only concerned with the result of "street smarts" and to them the ends justifies any means".

To those of the Slytherin House, no man is an island but your kind is as close as one can get. Also, though this world lacks any form of perfection you are constantly trying to better yourself and your surroundings in order to achieve that unseen perfection; a commendable ideal. However, a word of caution, your lack of restraint coupled with your belief that physical facts carry an unwavering set of ideal could prove to be your downfall just as Gryffindors can become senseless martyrs, Ravenclaws can become so detached that they lose focus, and Hufflepuffs can waste talent on meaningless projects. Temperance and patience are the key and with it you will find that life becomes much easier to handle, especially if that life is in danger. In the heat of battle we find that you are one who can quickly adapt so that you can neutralize danger before it devastates others.

Our Astute Ravenclaws
Open-Minded, Intelligent, and Curious.
"Wisdom, intelligence, and memory - with their kindred right opinion and true reasoning - are better and more desirable than any pleasure." - Socrates

Before and above all, Ravenclaws are known for their brains and wit as stated by the Sorting Hat. It is their brilliance which sets them apart from the other houses. They are brilliant not just because of their intelligence quotient, but also because they hold education, facts, and wisdom above all else. They value not only the answers but also the process and steps taken to reach that conclusion; the equation or formula is just as exciting as discovering the response.

Furthermore, Ravenclaws are highly analytical and detailed-oriented; they look at the detailed parts just as much as they look at the whole. Ideas, thoughts, and information are often pieced together by studying what makes them up and what defines them as complex or simple. Basically, Ravenclaws observe and study in order to understand the world around them and because of this eager pursuit they are avid readers. Their love of reading leads to a well developed skill with the pen or quill. It is merely fact that those who are readers are also very skilled writers. However, not all Ravenclaws are writers, some prefer to express their creative genius through song, dance, and art.

Ravenclaws' high standards, coupled with them being highly analytical can cause others to view those of the Ravenclaw House as cold and uncaring. It could be due to their hesitancy to befriend others who do not share their value for education. Plus, it is fairly common for intellectuals to surround themselves with people of their own mental caliber. However, the true reason that Ravenclaws seem distant is due to the fact that they love to step back and observe the natural way of things with an open mind without their own personal interference.

To those of the Ravenclaw House, you are made up of individuals who embody a myriad of traits, which include not only intelligence but tendencies of being analytical, open-minded, and curious. You are all noteworthy individuals who make your mark in ways that the other houses do not. You use your head by thinking things through to choose your destination. When you find yourself or others in the midst of conflict you take time to discern the best path. With your gifted perspective you can assess any situation. With your undeniable logic you come to a precise conclusion can only be described as immaculate. You may be wrong every now and then but you never stop trying to understand.

Our Romantic Gryffindors
Courageous, Strong, and Passionate.
"Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, RAGE against the dying of the light!" - Thomas Dylan

Courage is the one word that comes again and again to describe the Gryffindor House. Courage, however, comes in many shapes and measures such as: daring, boldness, nerve, or even recklessness if it is at its worst. It can take such forms as Neville's courage when he stood in the way of the Golden Trio, Remus' strength to endure when he faces the horrid pain of transformation every month for years without end, or Hermione's passion to stand up and speak amid the crowd when nobody else shares her point of view but she knows it is the right thing to do. It can also be the false courage or recklessness that leads to a fall from grace.

Etymology will tell you that the word "courage" cannot be explained without "heart" and heart is the core trait of the noble lion which represents this fine house. Others may call it passion, spirit, or even rashness yet the bottom line is that when they have to make a choice, they will always follow their heart. Maybe that makes them impulsive, but any Gryffindor will tell you that sometimes it is more important to do what feels true and right than to listen to cold reason. They do what they feel must be done and when at their pinnacle, a Gryffindor's heart will shine with the brilliance of the sun - even if it means getting burned. Sometimes it is the only way to keep the darkness at bay.

Gryffindors look at things in a different light from the other houses. Their passion and brio is seldom wasted on such shallow goals as showing off. Gryffindors have great goals and noble causes. They care for high ideals, for honor, and for nobility of heart and know that the world does not always move in these ways. Gryffindors considers one's behavior in order to discern his or her value, not the results that they achieve.

To those of the Gryffindor House, let it be your guide that true courage is not about brute force and it is much more subtle than roaring and boasting. Courage is solely about your willingness to stand in front of adversity. To stand, to hold, and never back down no matter what. Why? Because it is the right thing to do, because someone has to, and because even if you are doomed you can still bring someone salvation. This is what Gryffindors do, this is how you make a difference. When the darkness comes - and darkness always comes - you will not give up. You will keep raging against the dying of the light. I know that if you are to fall then you will go down holding forth the light of all that you believe in and hope for. You can be killed but you will never be broken.

Our Considerate Hufflepuffs
Hardworking, Loyal, and Just.
"If I can work hard to stop one heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain." - Emily Dickinson

"Hufflepuff" may be a warm and fuzzy name but there is nothing to suggest that they are excessively nice or sweet. Helga Hufflepuff's decision to allow all students into her house defines the house as committed to the egalitarian belief that everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed.

Hufflepuffs tend to keep their feet on the ground and their eyes on the path ahead of them. This does not mean they do not dream big, that they do not take risks, or that they do not think outside the box. It means they see the problems and they fix them; it means they take the time to look over their own shoulders to assess the progress of the entire group, to lend a hand to pull someone else up. It means what they value in others is not always virtue or bravery, cleverness or ambition, but the potential that each person has. Should it come as a surprise that the academic discipline of Professor Sprout, the head of Hufflepuff house, involves making things grow? Huffflepuffs care about potential, they care about creating the best conditions for people to thrive, and they care about having faith in the common good.

Connected to the idea of potential is the value of loyalty and loyalty definitely involves a concern for others. True, loyalty also involves other elements that are critical to the Hufflepuff identity: a certain amount of faith and optimism, and respect for others as well as respect for oneself. These elements of faith and respect are not easily won or haphazardly given; Hufflepuffs are not indiscriminately loyal or hardworking, contrary to popular belief. Because Hufflepuffs value hard work, effort is often used as a criterion for earning trust and loyalty, and Hufflepuffs will certainly reciprocate in kind.

To those of the Hufflepuff House, your very being holds a fierce protectiveness for all that you care so much about. Your qualities and traits tend to be undervalued, but these qualities and traits provide the necessary balance that makes society run, the house system work, and any operation succeed. You are the overwhelming force that keeps life flowing and all forces in check. If ever the moral coil was in danger, you may not have the answers like the Ravenclaws, you may not have the respect like the Slytherin, nor may you have the flair of the Gryffindors, but you are the one who does all the hard work. You justly fulfill all requirements to get the job done. If you become marred the scars that are left behind show your sacrifice for those that you love deeply.

                                          • None of this could be real. Her mind must have been playing tricks on her...

T-that had to be it. She would go into the palace like she had many times before and she would see Tae Won and her father discussing some plan for some project they were working on. Eun wanted to believe that. She wanted to just erase the last few days from her mind. Everything had been flipped around and she didn’t have an answer for it. Why Tae? She was the sick one! She had spent years grasping onto her own fragile life. But Tae? Tae Won was strong, stable, and smart. She did not understand and no matter how many times she ran it through her head nothing helped ease her mind. Each day that passed the pain just swelled inside her. The day they sent him to the pyre was the worst.

She had felt nothing but rage until that moment. It took two days for the doctors to declare what had actually happened to her brother and for the priests to prepare the Pyre. Those two days she made sure she was near every room where information could have been shared about her brothers demise. She spent the second day searching for that wench who the priestess had shielded. But nothing quelled the rage that was boiling in her. It wasn't until the second her eyes followed the flames into the sky from Tae Wons pyre did it finally hit her. All of her rage rushed out of her in the form of gasping tears. It was like she couldn't breath, couldn't think...only sob. She spent the rest of the day trying to catch her breath as tears rolled down her face. She remembered the vague faces of nobles passing by, she even remembered her mothers solemn face. But it was not long before the Royal family finished their mourning and Eun Jae was left on top of the hill collapsed in her own grief. The fire had dwindled and the sun had begun to set before Sa Wol gently tried to pull her from the ground. It wasn't until Sa Wol's hands reached for her that she had realized she was even outside. The maid had spoke calming words to her in an attempt to help her cope. But when she returned to her chambers Eun insisted on being left alone. Sa Wol agreed, saying that she just needed to rest -That it would all look better in the morning! Poor Sa Wol, wasting her efforts. Eun Jae knew better. The moment she was alone in her room her spirit broke again. She could remember calling out for Tae, falling to the ground in a heap. In that moment her legs were weak, like her bones had been liquefied.

                                            Hours went by.

                                            Days passed.

She did not pay attention to the maids who tried to coax her up from day to day. They tried to feed her, bathe her, even get her to drink some water. From time to time even Cheol would visit. Not even the ugly charms made her feel anything. A week to date, she had a pile of six or seven of the charms just waiting to be put away. By the seventh day Cheol Min stopped trying to bring her gifts. She had heard him speaking to a maid about how little she had moved in the last week and how concerned he was starting to become. But Eun did not care. Why should they worry about her? She couldn’t help anyone, she was useless.

On day...well, she didn't know what day it was. But she decided she would move. When she finally mustered up the energy to stand, her feet felt like rocks, heavy against the wooden floor as she wobbled across the room. Her body felt foreign to her and so awkward to move. Her useless heap of flesh stumbled and twisted as she tried to beckon it toward with another step. After a second step she felt the hard knocking of wood against her knees as she hit the floor with a solid thud. She remembered leaning her weight against the nearby wall, sinking back onto the ground. The last thing she remembered before she drifted off again was the way her hair poured over her shoulders covering her peripheral view.

Several hours later, the princess awoke- no longer on her floor. She had been placed back onto her bed roll without her knowing who even entered. How long had it actually been? With shaking legs, Eun pushed herself up and through her room. As she reached her doorway she let her whole body tilt, resting her shoulders against it. Her eyes settled on the floor and she felt her hair pour over her shoulders once more. Sliding the door just slightly she peered through the crack of the wall to see only the empty garden, nothing, or rather no one- in front of her.

Would she have a clear shot?

Easing herself through the door she tried to keep vigilant. It was then that she spotted her temporary keeper, Won Sul. He sat with his arms and legs crossed his shoulders resting against the building wall snoozing deeply. She watched him, noting the slow almost melodic way his chest lifted and deflated slowly with every calm breath he took. She was glad to see him sleep so calmly. How nice that must be to entirely let go of the world and simply sleep... She watched him for another long moment as she mentally traced the familiar features of his blissful face. He had been with them for so long. He had been a protector of nearly every person in the royal family- How daunting that must have been. She would have wanted to nap all the time if she was him too! She felt a twinge of guilt rush over her. She knew what her mother would do once she realized what Eun was up to. She knew that the Queen grieved for Tae still, but she was also aware that Won Sul could take care of himself. He would find a way out...if it came to that.

Eun was silent and slow with her movements. She made sure not to stir Won Sul or alert any of the maids. If she was correct by the placement of the sun- they would be having their lunch, which made it easier for her to slip from the side of her chambers to the garden buildings with ease. These buildings offered enough coverage for her to slip through and enter the lush gardens across the living chambers. Within the garden a small pathway she knew of would lead her down through the surrounding gate. A small river had formed a long time ago, and her grandfather had been adamant about the palace letting it run its course. He said that it was lucky, that the gods wished them to be always blessed with the water that raced through the stream. So the castle accommodated to this new stream. The gardens had been tailored around it, with a small opening left under the palace walls. It was large enough for her to slide through with ease. Well... it was easily passable as a child. But this was the only secret way she knew to get out of the castle...so it would have to do.

It felt much warmer and brighter than usual as she traced a familiar pathway through the living quarters, her eyes squinted as she slipped around the last maids rooms and into the shade of the gardens. As she'd remembered, the small stream had been left to flourish and those who had forgotten its presence gave her a way to slide into the cool water and make her escape. She was sure as she pulled at a wooden cross board that no one had been behind her, she had timed it well between the maids lunch. Or rather, she lucked into her timing. She truly didn't recall falling back to sleep earlier in the morning.

The grave-site was propped atop a hill, just beyond a cluster of flowers, so that those put to rest could overlook the realm in their afterlife and beyond. Eun wanted to be there. She needed to visit Tae Won and to stay by his side. Perhaps the gods would grant her this one last request. With no shade to protect her, she could feel the sunlight warming her body. It felt comforting in a way. Despite her mother constantly telling her to keep out of the sun so she didn't become "too common looking", she enjoyed it. It made the trip up the hill a little easier. At least the view was pleasant as she willed herself to take one step after another. The sign of the flowers made her feel at ease, and the pathway she followed had been practically left untouched by human hands. The flowers grew wild untamed by the palace gardeners and she had always loved the sight of them flourishing across the hillside as they wished. Eun Jae watched the silk hemline of her gown brush across the buds as they parted for her.

A sharp pain made her stop in her tracks. Grasping onto her chest she felt her breath change as the wheezing began. It seemed the flowers would not stop her body from failing her no matter how inspiring they were to her. Her useless body was warning her-telling her to stop moving. It's sharp attacks in her chest and heaviness of moving made her wonder if she should just turn back now? But then...No. She would not stop until she reached the top of that damned hill.

Leaning down Eun rested her hands on her knees trying to steady herself. She tried to take slow and steady breaths but with each inhale a burning pain shot through her and all the way to her toes. The intake of air, even warm air caused a tightening followed by a gasp. Her body was revolting against her and she hadn't even made it to the top of the hill yet! NO. This would not do! She would reach the top. With all the force she could muster she heaved her body onward. She clenched the sides of her gown to ground herself in an attempt to take another step forward. Only another step, just one more., she told herself. That's all it was. One step after another. One, two, one, two. She could do it.

Just as she was about to reach the very top of the hill she felt it again. It was like the air refused to enter her lungs, resulting in that familiar sharp pressure.
