Derek was rushing towards the source of the loud thump noise when he finally got what Piper had said. It was almost as if the words and images had been chasing him when they finally caught up. For a moment his legs stopped moving as he thought over what happened. Piper had seemed like she had no trouble talking to Derek and she even gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek. Seeing all this Derek was sure that eventually Piper would over come her fear of talking to Aaron Tran. After all Derek had faith in her. …Not that, that meant anything; Derek just chose to think it meant something. Derek had stopped only moments ago, but found himself questioning the loud noise that came from the back of the Book Mark.

“I hope someone with a love of reading didn’t get crushed by books.” He stated as he rushed towards the back of the store. He let out a laugh as he thought about the statement his grandfather made; although the statement had been very true. Eventually he made it back to the back. Derek looked first to his right then to his left. He saw no avalanche of books, just a girl standing in front of the fairytale books. It seemed like she may have crashed into one of the shelves because she appeared to have a rather red spot on her forehead... or maybe it was the lighting. Derek was unsure what to do. He looked to his right and then left again; no one else in sight. He knew the girl from school.

“Miss Naughty.” He mumbled to himself. “I guess I should go see if she’s okay.” Derek continued to mutter to himself. He noticed that a book was on the floor and he quickly walked over, swooping down he retrieved the book. “You dropped this?” It wasn’t meant to be a question or a statement. It was sort of in the middle.
Derek looked down at the book because he hadn’t wanted to seem like he was staring and there really was no other place to look. A fairytale book. Not like it was a surprise, after all they were in the aisle with fairytale stories. Although honestly it was a surprise to see Autumn Hart aka Miss Naughty reading it.

He smiled a bit.
‘Guess you learn something new everyday.’ He thought before holding the book out to Autumn.

Derek handed the book over to Autumn and just stood there for a moment staring at the girl. It was rude of Derek to do so, but he couldn’t help himself. There were many reasons he was staring but the ones that seemed to stick out in his mind most appeared to be the only ones he could focus on. First he was still shocked she liked the fairytale books, but then a small voice in his head made him realize that he wasn’t as surprised as he probably should be. ‘You can’t judge a book by its cover and Autumn is no exception.’ He thought. ‘Besides maybe she wants someone to save her...like in the fairytale books.’ Derek moved away from this thought because he hadn’t really wanted to get too deep into thinking about another person’s psyche. Whatever Autumn’s reason for liking those books is, it’s not for Derek to try and guess. It’s not like he enjoyed trying to figure people out, okay he actually did, but sometimes he wasn’t even trying and it just happened. His brain would start working on trying to figure people out. Why they stood a certain way, why they read a certain genre of book, or even why they went out of their way to avoid someone. Derek thought maybe he was just nosy so he tried to stop doing it, but when you people-watch you just kind of pick up the habit of trying to figure people out. Derek’s brain moved easily from trying to figure Autumn out, to the other reason for his staring. He thought she looked beautiful.

Derek was not a guy to ogle girls, however for some reason he couldn’t look away from Autumn. She was now looking at her feet, which Derek noticed had begun wiggling. ‘She’s adorable.’ As soon as that thought entered his head Derek pushed it back out. ‘First of all, I’m probably not her type and she could do better than me anyway. Besides we run in different circles. She’s one of the night owls, that’s always partying it up and me...I’m that guy. Sure I have a supposed mysterious quality, but I don’t think that has anything to do with...well, anything.’ Derek let out a quite sigh. He was done with thinking these thoughts; done with all that negative thinking. So he thought a girl was cute, it happens. He could, and probably should, just move on. After all one encounter in the fairytale book section doesn’t mean anything is ever going to happen. Derek’s smile from earlier had disappeared for a bit as he thought, but it was now back on his face. Just a nice friendly little smile.

“Look; could you do me a favor, and not tell anybody about this?”
“I’m not exactly the ‘fairytale princess’ kind of girl, if you know what I mean.”

Derek listened to Autumn and felt a little insulted that she would think he’d mention the book to anyone. It wasn’t his place to say anything about the book and it’s not like he’s into gossip. Besides he isn’t like all those other guys out there that spread rumors, or use situations to get what they want; Derek didn’t even want anything! But Derek let it slide right off of him. She didn’t know him well enough to know that he wouldn’t spread rumors or blab about this to everyone. She was merely trying to protect herself and her reputation; no big deal. “I won’t mention it to anyone.” He muttered quickly. It was supposed to assure Autumn that he wouldn’t say anything, instead he probably looked like a fool. Derek cursed himself for having such problems with getting across his intended message.

When Autumn had finished explaining what happened to her head Derek felt awful. “She didn’t get crushed by books, but this is almost as bad.” He mumbled to himself, with a thoughtful look on his face. “You don’t need to say sorry. It was an accident...” Derek had assumed it was an accident considering most people didn’t run into a bookshelf really hard for fun. “besides I was just stacking books and that can wait.” He paused for just a moment. “Are you okay? It looks like you’re really hurting. Um, I’m sure I can find some aspirin and we can get you some ice for your head...if you’d like.” Derek was stumbling over his words. He wanted to make sure she would be okay and right now she looked like she was in some major pain. Derek figured that her head was probably pounding from hitting the bookshelf and that some aspirin may help and the ice might help the red bump on her forehead. Maybe it’d make the bruise less awful, he didn’t really know what the ice could do for her head. He knew ice stopped swelling, but would a forehead swell? Was the bump like swelling? He wasn’t sure, he just figured he’d try to help in anyway possible.

Now some people may think Derek was helping Autumn out because he thought she was cute, but that wasn’t the reason. He was helping her merely because she was hurt. Maybe it has been noticed that Derek is a real softy. He likes to help people out in anyway he can, with any problem. And even if he doesn’t offer his services he hopes that one day those around him will realize they can come to him for advice, help, or whatever. He just wanted to be there because sometimes a day goes awful and you just want one person to do something nice for you, someone does and then suddenly your day seems less horrible. That’s who Derek would like to be. That one person that makes things at least a little better, you know? Because Derek sure does. Plus when you’re helping others out you’re too busy to think about your problems and for a bit they aren’t even there; Derek’s grateful for any distraction.

Derek just stood there for a few moments while he watched as Autumn looked at him then at the book that was in her hand. He wondered what she was thinking; actually he wondered what a girl like her would ever think. Were her thoughts clouded with what party she would go to next or what boys would be there. Derek gently shook his head.
‘No.’ He thought. ‘She’s probably got more on her plate than it would appear. After all no one has a prefect life and even those that choose to party have more to worry about than just partying. Well at least most of them.’ Derek hoped his little assumption was right. Even though it was in his head, he’d feel like an idiot for being wrong. then again Autumn didn’t seem like your typical party girl. For starters, she read which Derek didn’t think most partiers had time for. Of course he was just generalizing here, but everyone has their flaws. Derek has many and one just happens to be his generalizing. But he also had a reason to his generalizing; after all if you’re out partying every night then you’d most likely have very little time to read. That was just Derek’s thinking, not like he every really had to figure out what happens when you party. Derek, being the boy that he is, has never really been to a party. Once he went for a few minutes but then grew bored and went back home to finish reading a novel he had started.

After that little decision he wasn’t ever really invited to a party again; why waste an invite on a guy that would end up leaving? Derek didn’t mind though, most parties were full of people getting wasted, or getting friendly and Derek was neither the person to get drunk or friendly. Of course Derek knew there were other people that didn’t fit in either category, but they were few and far in between. After all when people go to a party they most likely go to party, which means alcohol, peer pressure, and bedrooms. Derek didn’t enjoy hurting people or watching them get hurt so he avoided places where this would happen. You know, girl sleeps with guy and she ends up broken hearted; or three friends get drunk, drunk driving occurs and now you’ve got three dead high school kids. Pain is all Derek really hears when the word party is mentioned; he’s just being pessimistic though. Especially since Derek hates alcohol and that’s one the biggest substances there, or so Derek believes. He just can’t stand the way it turns even the most amazing person into something awful. Not only that but being in such a large crowd of people, where most of them are drunk or getting to that point, would be awkward. Especially if Derek hadn’t remembered his pill and ended up going to a party, not like he’d be going to a party anytime soon. Besides Derek never forgot his pill.

‘...Except today.’ Derek thought remembering the little white pill that was sitting on the kitchen table. He had forgotten his pill and he hoped he wouldn’t have a panic attack. He took a deep breath and worked on keeping calm. ‘It’s simple. I’ll leave a bit earlier and get the pill on my way to work. And it shouldn’t be a problem around the Book Mark because I don’t think too many people are here.’ Derek’s thought made sense. There was no screaming of children that were excited, or unexcited, to be here and the low, steady murmur of voices wasn’t as clear as when the Book Mark was crowded. He smiled to himself grateful for the fact that not a lot of people came so early to the Book Mark.

“That would be more than amazing. I don’t even know why you’re being so nice to me. Thanks, a lot, though.”

Derek was pulled from his thoughts by the voice of Autumn. ‘She really has a lovely voice.’ He thought, only momentarily distracting himself. He was grinning from ear to ear, because of both the thought and her words. She was going to let him help her which made him oddly happy. Derek loved helping people, but he loved the fact that he could be of help to Autumn even more. After all he viewed her as the type of girl that was fairly strong in both the physical and mental aspects and one that wouldn’t easily accept help. Of course this was just what he got from her; what she gave off. Not that, that meant Derek was right, in fact he could be very wrong. Derek no matter how many times he observed people and liked to get into their mind, was never a good judge of character. He thought that everyone had good in them and chose to ignore the bad...most of the time. Not to mention he was pretty oblivious to most things.

“Great!” Came Derek’s reply. “I think there is some aspirin up at the front desk and I can get you ice from the cafe.” He paused for a moment. Derek didn’t want to offend Autumn by getting everything for her and making it seem like she couldn’t do it for herself, but he also had wanted to just assume she’d want to come with him to receive the aspirin and ice. “Um, that is if you’re feeling too dizzy to go, or you just want to rest and take it easy. I can get everything for you. However you can come a long if you want, though if you are feeling dizzy you might get hurt more. ...Not that I’m trying to imply you can’t handle yourself.” Derek stopped. “Uh...Sorry.” He just figured he would apologize now and get it out of the way because he was sure somewhere in there he had said something offensive. “Oh. And I’m being nice because you look like you could use some kindness today.” Derek finished referring to the bump on her head. Having an awful day can be changed just by having one person show an act of kindness; that’s what Derek believes.

”I’ll come with. But yea—I doubt that I’ll fall over. If I do, you can just leave me there.”

Derek looked at Autumn with an astonished gaze. He knew she was joking, but he still felt alarmingly worried. He wouldn’t just leave her! No way! But instead of telling her that in a serious manner Derek decided to do it jokingly. He could be laid back and joke around. Sometimes it was hard for him, because he wanted everyone to know exactly what he meant and not think him cruel or mean, but he could still joke around. “I wouldn’t leave you there. After a while you might start to smell and scare the customers away.” His reply was quick to leave his mouth and if you couldn’t see the smile on his face you’d know he was joking by the sound of his voice. His voice was deep and light with a bit of laughter in there. Derek’s eyes even sparkled with the laughter that was in his voice.

Maybe it was the laughter, but suddenly his day didn’t seem so bad anymore. Not like it was all that bad to begin with, he just didn’t like finding out he had a sister, after she had been born. ‘C’mon! Who doesn’t inform their only child that they’ll have a sister soon?’ He wondered with a bit of disdain. He knew it wasn’t right to feel dislike for a being that had recently come into this world, so he tried not to, but it was hard. He blamed the baby for being born, as unfair as that sounds. He just couldn’t help himself. Growing up Derek was never very good at sharing and he especially hated it when other kids were trying to get to his parents. For some reason Derek could just see his parents loving the other children more; even though in all reality his parents would never abandon Derek. Sure they had left Derek with his grandfather, but Derek asked for this, so it wasn’t abandonment.

Derek pushed those thoughts from his head; sometimes he could be so childish, which bugged him more than he let on.
As Autumn thanked Derek for being nice he just continued to smile. “You’re welcome…I guess. But really there’s no need to say thank you. Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness.” He wanted to go on saying more about how if everyone was nicer to one another the world might be a bit better, but he stopped himself. He really was being talkative today, which wasn’t his norm. He wasn’t sure why he was talking so much, but he felt really inspirational today; with giving out advice and help today.

Derek had opened his mouth to speak but quickly closed it. This was no time for words and really he had nothing to say, so instead he held his hand out. “Just a precautionary measure, we wouldn’t want you scaring away customers.” He said referring to his earlier joke. He was worried she would think he was trying to insult her, when in fact he was just trying to loosen up a bit; Derek can be kind of high strung. But it wasn’t like he thought she’d get insulted and hate him; he figured she wouldn’t get upset over something as small as a joke. Though Derek was a bad judge of character and could have been wrong. He really hoped he wasn’t. Derek wanted to say something and apologize for implying that she couldn’t handle herself, or that she would scare away customers because in fact she was so pretty she might attract more customers, but he held himself back. He was told once by his grandfather that he apologized too much and it was something Derek was trying to fix; he just didn’t want to offend anyone.

Derek let out a small laugh when Autumn joked back. It seemed to Derek that he had a smile continuously plastered on his face today as he kept smiling; not to say that Derek didn’t regularly smile, but usually it was just a small one here and there. And at school, well the boy walked the halls with a blank look on his face. ‘Maybe that’s why they think I’m mysterious?’ The thought had come to his mind suddenly.
Normally pretty solemn looking, when the boy was seen smiling it was probably hard to imagine why; especially since he was always trying to hide his smile in school. It’s not that he didn’t like his smile, in fact his smile had to be his favorite feature, he just didn’t want people to know that he was laughing at thoughts that happened to cross his mind. Instead of being Mr. Mysterious, he’d probably be called Mr. Loony and Derek didn’t want that. No, he had enough problems on his plate without people thinking (or knowing, depending on if he was crazy or not) he was crazy.

Derek’s cheeks became a light pink color when Autumn looped her arm in his, it had only been a short experience, but he couldn’t help the that had appeared blush. It wasn’t that Derek thought anything would come from that simple contact, actually he didn’t even know why he was blushing. Derek ignored the slight burning sensation in his cheeks and just focused on looking ahead of him. His mind worked on figuring out why he had blushed, even though he told his mind to stop. His head was reeling through reason and suddenly found one. Derek didn’t really come in contact with a lot of people, let alone girls. He disliked being too close to people and disliked being touched by them even more; it made him feel awkward. This time he was touched by someone and he didn’t mind; not one bit. Maybe stress was getting to him. ‘Yeah, that’s it. Stress.’ His thought made him calm and his mind stopped working so hard to find an excuse for the color in his cheeks.

“If only my life lived by that rule.”

Derek stopped looking ahead and concentrated on the girl next to him. He noted the sadness in her eyes and the small half-smile, which only added to the sadden look that was on her face. His mouth wanted to fall open in a shocked sort of way, while he apologized over and over again and gave her big, heart-warming hug. But that’s only what he felt like doing, not what he was going to do. As he searched his mind for what to say he could only come up with one thing. “Sorry.” It was a pathetic attempt at saying something and it was probably only going to make Autumn think he pitied her, when that wasn’t it. Or was it? Derek was always confusing pity for concern. And he was always concerned about everything and everyone, so you’d think the boy would have figured out the difference by now. Suddenly Autumn seemed to brighten up and Derek wondered why. He thought about it for a moment. No wonder Derek didn’t talk much outside of the Book Mark; he was too busy thinking about everything around him to actually say anything. ‘Maybe she doesn’t want to say too much to me. What if something really bad happens when she’s at home?’ He was struck with an immense amount of worry for a moment before a new thought entered his mind. ‘Or maybe she just doesn’t want the mood to be all serious and sad.’ Derek chose to believe it was the second thought because the first one was too depressing.

When Autumn smiled at Derek for his comment about precautionary measures, he felt scared. He had just offered her his hand! Derek helped people, but rarely did he offer to allow someone else contact with him.
It was odd, Derek’s offer, but Derek decided that he didn’t mind too much. The whole offering situation wasn’t nearly as bad as he thought it might have been, so he just smiled back.

While they walked Derek kept an eye on Autumn. He knew she was swaying a bit just to mess with him, but just in case he kept checking on her. Derek had to keep his eyes looking ahead of him too, because he wouldn’t want to crash into someone or a bookshelf; soon though he could see that they were only about a foot away from the front counter. Derek could have rushed ahead and got the aspirin that could be seen behind the counter, after all it was only a foot to the counter, but he hadn’t wanted to risk leaving Autumn by herself. Even if it was only a foot, so he continued to walk beside her. However once they were close enough for Autumn to be able to reach out and grab the counter if she did fall, Derek hoped on over the counter and went for the aspirin bottle.

Before reaching for the aspirin Derek stopped. There was a cookie on the book that held the picture of the little surprise Derek had received earlier this morning. A cookie…and a note. Derek read the note with a smile on his face. So she had seen Mr. Perfect and things were going well, apparently. ‘That’s great!’ Derek thought. Derek looked away from the note to grab the aspirin and was back over the counter. He held the bottle in his hand and opened his mouth. "Would like a glass of water? I can go over to the coffee shop and get you one, as well as the ice if you’d like to sit down and relax.” He paused for a moment to take a breath. “I know you probably don’t need me doing it for you, or that you could come with me. I’m just…” Derek was trying to think of the right word or words. “Over protective of people I barely know.” He finally said. And Derek was. He was incredibly over-protective of people he didn’t know. If someone was hurt he’d probably ask if they needed help and if they were hurt bad enough he’d probably insist on helping them. But he was also very careful about offering to help people, because he knew that now-a-days people got suspicious of kindness.

This is how I am:: Harleen is rather caring person. She has a love and respect for all life, whether it is human, animal, insect, or plant. Because of this respect she harbors for life Harleen is doing all she can to protect the environment, but we’ll get into that more later on. Since Harleen is so caring she often tries to help in other’s lives, some may call Harleen nosey, but she believes that she’s just really, really caring. Harleen boarders on the creepy side at times with her overly caring nature and her tendency to watch people; though she isn’t a stalker, just a mere observer. She likes to watch people’s reactions, their body language, and the way their voices move up an octave when embarrassed. That sort of thing, no stalking. Anyway from all her people watching and her over-caring nature Harleen knows quite a bit more about people than she should. But that doesn’t mean that Harleen is any good when actually having to deal with people.

Harleen has got to be the most socially awkward person in the world…well that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it’s not too far from the truth. The girl is an observer, she only watches people interact with one another, and rarely does she interact with those she watches. Harleen watches a lot of people; therefore she keeps to herself and observes the lives around her as if they were a live Soap Opera. Although it may seem like Harleen would be some sad, little, emo kid she isn’t; she enjoys everyday of her life and is always smiling and laughing. Seriously, Harleen can be seen laughing at untold jokes, though she tries not to do it in front of other people; wouldn’t want to scare them. She tends to look on the pessimistic side of life, most of the time, so why is she always smiling and laughing? Well she’s probably crazy. No one knows for sure if she is or not, and no one really wants to find out; but what other excuse is there for her…odd personality? Harleen doesn’t mind though, she is a hard worker and usually passes her classes with a B average and she enjoys life. So if she has to chock her happiness up to insanity, so be it!

Easy, Breezy, Beautiful?:: Her natural hair color is a light brown color, however she dyes her hair so it is a light blue color with a darker purple near her tips. Her hair goes a bit past her bottom when not pulled up. She usually wears it with a flower clip of some sort.
Leave me alone!:: 5’5”

••Life? Don't get me started...
Harleen had a normal childhood, loving parents, bothersome siblings, good schooling, sports, vacations, you get the idea. She had always been shy, which was a trait she had received from her mother, according to her father. Though she never out grew her shy attitude like her mother. Harleen had a very active childhood, she was always doing something; softball practice, soccer tryouts, tennis practice, schoolwork, chores, art lessons, ballet, etc. The girl never had a minute to herself, but she didn’t really mind.

Harleen knew that her parents were only pushing her so hard because they cared and they wanted her to experience many different things. Out of all the things that Harleen had tried as a child, there were only two of them that she loved, art and ballet. When she had grown old enough to babysit her younger siblings, Harleen had decided to drop some of the things that her parents had signed her up for. She made the bold choice of going straight to her parents and asking that she only be kept in ballet and art lessons, luckily her parents allowed her decision.

Time passed and Harleen continued to lead a normal life. She had done a lot for a kid her age, lead a really normal life and she was tired of it. She wanted to have something exciting happen in her life, not the monotonous life she had. Not that she was complaining, it was good to have stability and a lot of kids would probably love to have the life she had, but for Harleen it just wasn’t all that great. She didn’t want chaos to befall her family, and she didn’t want to live on the edge, no she just wanted some friends that could color her grayscale world. But finding friends like that was hard for Harleen the little wall flower. Until she came to high school and joined the Dance Team. There she loads of colorful people; not that she actually considered any of them friends, they were more like acquaintances.

And the Art Club! The Art Club was literally and metaphorically colorful. Harleen had never been happier. She had the color that she was looking for, but sadly it was only at school; what would she do when they had breaks? Who could color her world when she only had family to hang around? Obviously her family wasn’t all too colorful, since she had to go looking other places for a change of pace in the first place. Harleen knew the answer; she would have to color her own world. Who could give her the excitement in her life better than her? No one. That’s when Harleen started to look at life through a comedic sort of view. She had to start thinking differently, physical pain became funny and everything that was said to Harleen was twisted around in her head to be a hilarious statement.

Of course, just because Harleen could bring an odd sort of comedy to her own life didn’t mean that she was giving up her School Soap Opera. After all with her new way of thinking and the drama that always goes on in High School things should be even better. Harleen probably isn’t insane; it’s most likely all just a ruse to keep her from falling back into the monotonous life she had once led.

Besides Harleen’s odd behavior, there’s another side to her. She is very caring and always willing to help anyone with a problem. She can think on a rational level and often uses that to help others with whatever problem they have. That is if they come to her and she can suppress her shyness enough to get out a few words. Harleen’s caring side is so strong that she spends a lot of her free time volunteering to clean up local parks, forests, etc. and she recycles. If Harleen isn’t found cleaning up the outdoors then she can be found working at a local no-kill shelter grooming and caring for the animals. Harleen has a real soft spot for all living things and so she tends to do all she can to help anyone, or thing that needs her help.

Tenten especially loves proving that females can be as good as males, through sports. Tenten can be really competitive, but she doesn’t let it go so far as to become a sore loser. Tenten is pretty good when it comes to dealing with people. She is a peace-maker, but at the same time she is realistic; she’ll try to settle fights between friends with a neutral, yet honest approach. Check me out!:: Hey there.
Look into my eyes:: Dark Brown.
Easy, Breezy, Beautiful?:: Medium length. Pulled up into two buns, one on each side of her head. A light brown color.
Leave me alone!:: 5’7”

••Life? Don't get me started...
Tenten had a really average childhood; nothing out of the norm. She was always a happy kid, with a happy family, living a happy life. Tenten worked hard to pass her classes and worked even harder to make sports teams. As a child everything was fine and dandy, but as she got older her eyes were opened to the inequalities of the world. She began to notice that some males thought they were better than females and that some races thought they were better than others.

This realization had sent Tenten’s mind reeling. She wanted to work to change all this, but being a young lady she only do so much. First Tenten decided to work on proving that females are as good as males, because half the population is female so maybe he’d have the big impact that she was hoping for. Then she wanted to work together on bring people of different races closer together and eliminating racial hate; how Tenten was going to accomplish this, even she didn’t know. Tenten had to find a way to bring equality to the world, or at least a small portion of the world, so she began looking everywhere for inspiration.

Tenten was always watching people studying their movements and reactions, which have caused Tenten to become very observant. Which is nice and helpful when you play as many sports as Tenten; she’s got a sport for every season and many that she plays in her free time. Tenten can usually be seen playing softball or soccer since those are her favorite team sports, but Tenten isn’t all about sports. She studies and even dances; to her it’s about being the best she can be; as well as proving male supremacists wrong.

Even though this girl does it all, or has at least tried it all, she isn’t very special. She’s pretty normal, and often blends into the background. Her name is heard around and people know about her, as she plays on a lot of the school’s sports teams, but very few can match a face to her name. In fact none know Tenten’s last name. The girl is always just there, but it’s not like she isn’t appreciated, she’s just not noticed.

Harleen had been up for hours, not because she couldn’t sleep, she was just an early riser. Harleen had been sitting around staring blankly at the television that was on some random music channel when her mother walked in. “Do you need a ride to school? Your father and I are taking your brother, we can take you too.” Her mother had a sad smile on her face. She had noticed Harleen changing when she started High School a year ago and worried that Harleen was being bullied or that Harleen had become depressed, but when Harleen was taken for a check-up at the Hospital they found no bruises and said Harleen seemed fine mentally. Harleen’s mother didn’t know what to do for the girl, none of the family did; except for the grandmother that was in an asylum, she claimed they could fix the girl by getting her exorcised. Harleen’s mother couldn’t really complain though, Harleen seemed happy in her own way, she had passed all her classes last year, and she actually gets out of the house.

Harleen pulled her eyes away from the television set and looked at her mother, it took a moment but her eyes focused on the woman. “No. I’ll ride my bike to school.” She went silent and it seemed as if the conversation was over. “But thanks for car-pooling. I know it must be hard to coordinate everything.” Harleen finished as she turned off the television and walked out of the living room. Harleen loved her family, especially her asylum grandmother; they even car-pooled because they knew how Harleen was worrying about the environment and working to try and help it.

Anyway, Harleen entered the kitchen. She had eaten earlier this morning, but was feeling hungry again, so she grabbed a granola bar and began heading back towards the front door. Harleen was wearing black pants today so she could ride her bike without worrying about anyone getting to see certain things; she liked wearing skirts and usually did. In a few minutes Harleen was riding her bike towards school; she couldn’t wait to actually walk into the school and return to having those colorful clubs in her life. At this Harleen pedaled faster, just thinking about all the excitement the year should, and hopefully would, bring was enough to produce a chuckle from Harleen. Not that that meant anything. Harleen was always laughing at something, whether it be a little kid throwing a rock at a train, the rock bouncing off the train and nailing the kid in the head, or a joke.

‘Sometimes I just can’t stop laughing.’ Harleen thought as her chuckle turned into a giggle, but it had yet to stop. She just shrugged it off and continued biking, probably getting weird glances from passersby.

Luckily the giggling had quite as Harleen reached school. Making her way to the bike racks and securing her bike to said bike racks Harleen looked around. She noticed that a lot of kids were already at the school.
“Must have taken longer than I thought.” She muttered. Harleen was now headed towards the stairs working her way in between students that were also heading in. Harleen didn’t want to touch any of the other students, didn’t want to accidently brush up against any of them either, because the girl wasn’t incredibly fond of contact with others. She didn’t intrude into people’s personal space and expected the same courtesy.

Of course there were certain times where coming in contact with someone else couldn’t be helped. ‘Like now.’ Harleen thought as someone shoved into her. Harleen turned around to glare at the person and try to shoot them some snappy remark, which probably wouldn’t come out of her mouth anyway, when she stopped. She knew the person that bumped into her, and that person had even muttered a sorry, and a hello.

Harleen's eyes widened.
“N-“ Was all she managed before she darted off. Harleen was going to say something sweet, and with a smile. ‘Something like, No problem! Good to see you again Tenten! Are you playing softball again this year? But no, I made a N sound.’ A sigh escaped Harleen’s lips as she continued dashing off in the general direction of her locker.

"Gotta be green, gotta be mean
Gotta be everything more.
Why don't you like me?
Why don't you like me?
Why don't you walk out the door!
How can I help it? How can I help it?
How can I help what you think?
Hello my baby, hello my baby

Tenten had just been dropped off at school by her mother. She waved a goodbye and shouted a quick thank you while she made her way up the stairs into the school. Tenten was just turning around to watch where she was going when she bumped into someone. As she looked to see who it was she noticed the bug eyed Harleen. “Sorry.” Was what first came out of her mouth, then a simple. “Hello.” She remembered Harleen from last year, the girl rarely talked, but always seemed to be smiling. Suddenly the girl had made an odd noise and darted off. “Hey, wait!” Tenten shouted. Afraid she had scared the girl, or hurt her Tenten went rushing after her. All those years playing sports really paid off. She found it easy to keep up with the girl, until she encountered a rather large group in the hallways. She noticed Harleen easily squeezing through the group, but Tenten couldn’t manga the same feat. She looked at the group in front of her. Naruto, Sasuke, Shino, Kakashi-Sensei, and Natsumi…at least that’s what she thought the girl’s name was. Tenten just stood there for a moment looking at the group, as small as it seemed they sure did create quite a little blockage in the hallway.

Tenten shrugged and turned to go the other way. ‘I should find my locker, maybe I’ll see Harleen later I can apologize then.’ The thought entered her mind as she ventured off in the opposite direction. Tenten was a good bit away from where she had lost Harleen when she realized she had forgotten the number of her locker in all the…excitement of the morning. She let her book bag slip off her shoulders and pulled it around her body so it was now in front of her, searching through one of the pockets Tenten produced a small slip of paper. She kept it in her hand before closing her book bag back up and situating it back on her shoulders. Reading over the small slip of paper Tenten looked up at a nearby locker. “I’m going in the right direction.” She announced to herself.

Just a bit later Tenten was standing in front of her locker. She opened it while bringing her book bag around to rest in front of her. It took Tenten only a few minutes to transfer her unneeded books into her locker and close both her book bag and locker. It hadn’t taken Tenten as much time as she thought it would for her to finish moving all unneeded things into her locker and now she was just standing there wondering what to do. She could easily go to class early and just hang out, read a book, or something. Although that could prove to be boring. 'I couldn't do that anyways, we have as assembly this morning.' She thought quickly. She figured she could go in search of people she knew that could keep her occupied until the assmebly. Tenten no longer had to worry about finding anyone as a few girls that she played sports with last year came up to her and started talking. Tenten chatted with the small group with a smile on her face, glad that she wouldn’t have to go in search of anyone to talk to.
[OoC: It's so small. I'm sorry. D:]
