It was all a fluke. An accident. A crossing of wires somewhere along the way. None of this was ever supposed to happen. And no one was supposed to stay once the problem got fixed. Of course, when you live in the world that these people do, you find out quick that things don't ever seem to go how they're supposed to. What world might that be? The world where everything that seems possible is possible of course. What's normal for them? Will probably never be normal for us. A world where many people with superpowers do their best to keep civilians safe, and others with superpowers would rather be doing some damage.

Let five people be presented to you. This is the world they grew up with, being five of the lucky few who found that they had powers. It hasn't been forever that people with powers have unveiled themselves to the world, but it's been long enough that there has been formations of alliances, people with out powers have gotten nervous, problems have occurred. What have these five experienced? Misunderstandings with people who fear that they mean more harm then good. Some may have been put out of their homes, they were taken away from their schools to keep the 'normal' kids safe. As you can see, it could make it quite hard for this group of five, who grew up together, to ever even consider joining up to help protect these 'ungrateful bigots' as some have put it. Still, two did choose to join up with The Organization. No other name, simply The Organization. An alliance of superpowered people who despite everyone else's fear and discrimination of them, work to protect the 'normal' people, while peacefully trying to prove they aren't dangerous.

The other three? They plan to create a revolution, make people accept them with a group of powered rebels. Their thoughts? If you can't accept them, you don't need to be a part of the new world they're planning. And so the group of five that had been friends throughout school split up, with bonds that sometimes still affect them when they have to go against each other.

Of course, this isn't just about them, this is about five others. No, it's not about five other unpowered people. They certainly have powers. The fact of the matter is, they grew up having to hide their powers, because they weren't born into this time where powers were announcable. And by some fluke, five people from different decades ended up in the here and now. No one is sure how it happened. Some weird combination of powers, this or that. They've been around for awhile now, even though it was figured out how to send them back on both sides. They chose to stay in a time where they could at least use and talk about their powers without fear of people thinking their crazy or so on and so forth. And yet, even this group of five was split up without a second thought, three going to the Organization, two going to the rebel groups.

The Peaceful

The Teacher taken o u t r a g e o u s KOI
          Male
          Idealist
It was a given as to what side he would end up; Strong believer in gaining rights through a peaceful method; In a long-term relationship with the Idealist; Close friends with the twenties girl; Helping the ones from the past on their side how to properly control their powers.

The 1960's Boy open --
          Male
          1950's Girl
Discovered powers at a young age & kept them secret; Taken from the sixties, a true peaceful hippie; Came to the present with sixties girl, the only person who knew about his powers, having just recently met her in his own time, and he's not sure how to handle her choice of the violent side; has feelings for fifties girl, but she's caught up in her own feelings for others.

The 1920's Girl taken o u t r a g e o u s KOI
          Female
          Instigator
Learned how to control her powers early on with no one's help; a rebellious girl who was way ahead of the conservative times she had been born into, it was a surprise to everyone when she picked the peaceful side; confused over her feelings for the Instigator, who kissed her; Close friends with the Teacher, who she asks never ending questions about the present; adjusted the best to the new times out of all the ones from the past.

The Idealist open --
          Male
          Teacher
Always trying to see the best in people, no matter what they're doing; was once very close with Stubborn and Torn, and still talks to Torn when the chance arises, which isn't very often; In a long term relationship with Teacher; Is easily annoyed my fifties girl always insisting on flirting with Teacher.

The 1950's Girl open --
          Female
          Teacher; 1980's Boy
Didn't even develop her powers until the day she was pulled in time; Most would call her a conservative girl from a conservative era, but she's not as naive as she is a tough girl; Seems to like the two people she can't have, she wants; Is very often arguing with the Idealist, fights that the Teacher usually breaks up.

The Violent

The Instigator open --
          Female
          1920's Girl; Torn
Is always setting a fire under arguments and trying to make arguments escalate; Started dating the Torn to keep him loyal to their side, and then to really began to have feelings for him; Now has stronger feelings for the twenties girl, but stays with Torn to make sure he stays on their side; Is constantly at odds with Stubborn and sixties girl.

The Torn open --
          Male
          Instigator
Is not completely sure if he's on the right side, since he's not always for hurting people to get what they want; Stays with this side because of Instigator, because she says she loves him; Won't believe Stubborn when she says that Instigator is only using him; Is close friends with both Stubborn and Idealist, though he very rarely talks to Idealist anymore; His strained friendship with Idealist is one reason he wonders if he really made the right choice.

The 1960's Girl open --
          Female
          Torn
Discovered her powers and didn't learn to keep secret about them until her family kicked her out for it. From the sixties, she met sixties boy a short time before they were pulled in time, when they shared the secret of their powers with each other; Much more radical then her peaceful friend, she chose the violent side, insisting that the only way to get what they want is fighting for it; Sees how the Instigator uses Torn, who she likes, and has come to not like the other female because of that.

The Stubborn open --
          Female
          1980's Boy
Kept her powers secret until she was in high school, which made her immune to a lot of the treatment that other powered people experience; Was very startled to learn how people like her really were treated; Strongly believes that unless there are a few casualties, no one will take giving them their rights seriously; Close to Torn, hates how he lets Instigator treat him and how he won't believe her about it. Has recently started a relationship with eighties boy, which makes her possesive whenever fifties girl comes around.

The 1980's Boy open --
          Male
          Stubbourn
Has never had any good control over his powers, but doesn't look for control since he's sure his raw powers are much stronger; From the eighties, he fits in with the punk rock scene of his time; Being the closest in time, it seems odd, but he has a bit of a hard time comprehending the technological advances that have taken place; What he is sure he understands? That their is no such thing as a 'peaceful' way to get rights for their powers and not rules and regulation over them; He has become good friends with the sixties girl, and he has just begun a relationship with the Stubborn.

General;;
First off, we should all know to follow the Gaia ToS, right? Keep it relatively clean, so on and so forth, I really don't think I need to cycle through this.
Respect. For me, for the people in this roleplay. No one wants to RP with an annoying b***h, no matter how good they are. Just fact, sorry if I'm being too blunt for your tastes.
Don't steal my s**t. End of story. If I catch you, it won't be pretty, I promise.
Not everyone is going to accepted into this roleplay, please do not get an attitude with me because of that fact. If I don't think you'll be able to keep up, I'll tell you. If I think you need to change your profile, I'll tell you. Trust me, I don't hold back much on anything.

Literacy + Posting;;
This is an Advanced Literate roleplay. I am not flexible on that fact. If you are not able to put out four or more paragraphs of decent content, then I'm going to say you should probably be looking somewhere else.
As said, I want four or more decent paragraphs per a post, this doesn't mean waste time describing so and so's thoughts on a flower for three paragraphs. CONTENT is always the priority. Always.
Decorated posts are loved. That doesn't mean leave absolutely no space for your text by using a huge picture or leave everyone else blind by using some insanely bright color. It just means feel free to create a pretty post layout.
Look over your post before hitting submit. Please? I know that sometimes I can't spell for s**t and my grammar can suck, but I try to stop it before it goes to far. There is no reason we should have to sit for ten minutes trying to decipher a post filled with grammatical and spelling errors.

Profiles + Reserves;;
When you send me a reserved, please send along at least one sample of your RPing so I know what I'm saying yes or no to. Trust me, if I don't think you'll last, I will tell you, and I will try to tell you nicely. If I do tell you that, please don't try to talk me out of it, since that is one them I'm not planning on being flexible about.
Your character should be o-r-i-g-i-n-a-l. Overly tragic pasts aren't wanted, Picture wise, lets keep out celebs of the real world and of the internet. No anime either please.
I am letting you choose your character's powers. They may have more then one power, but let's be reasonable, and also, I'm going to go ahead and take immortality off the list of powers. This is a list of superpowers if you're having trouble figuring one out. Also, let's not have any repeats, 'kay?
Finally, in sending me your profile, it should go down like this. Go to the test forum and create a topic with your character's name and side in the title line. Put your profile here, along with a relationship post that you can change throughout the roleplay as things progress. Send me the link to this. And any PM's should be sent to me with the word 'anachronism' used in the subject line in some way.

I've been celebrating my birthday on December thirty-first for the past twenty-three years. My mommy used to say I was her little doll, but I don't think she was ever ready for me to go chasing after those people with the beauty inside. I think the formal name for that is p-pansexual? Is that the word they use nowadays? All that technical stuff doesn't really matter though. What matters is that my heart keeps speeding up for Instigator. Of course, I shouldn't have anytime for romance, considering how busy I am helping the peaceful people. And of course, I'm always learning something new about my innate capabilities, this thing that Teacher calls psionic blasts, and the control I can hold over shadows and the darkness around me, so when is there time for anything else?

Truth be told, people say I'm;;

          Unpredictable
✔ I'm always suprising people with this or that. I've never been one to have the same reactions to everything. Or the one to go about solving two problems that are exactly the same in the same ways. That's just boring. I know people say that it's always easier to go with what works, and why fix what isn't broken, but I'll tell you why. It's arrogant to always use the same way to solve a problem, because when that way stops working? What're you going to do? At least I'm prepared to deal with something like that.

          Rebellious
✔ I've never done what other people have told me to do. In fact, if I knew someone expected me to do one thing, I would do the opposite. It's a bratty thing to do, I know, but it's also bratty to judge someone else's actions. In the twenties, people said I was a flapper girl, and I was. Don't know what a flapper is? Go look it up sweetheart. We were the rebellious younger generation to put it simply.

          Strong-Willed
✔ I know what I want, and I will find always to get it, always, doesn't matter what it is. That's will power for you. That's why while everyone else thinks I only want to get things done the violent way, I'm doing everything I can to help the peaceful side. I won't turn into someone's stereotype. I've already proved that if I want it bad enough, I'll get it. That would be anything, like the fact that on my own, when I first discovered them, I learned to control my powers in secret. Of course, now I need more control, because they've developed even more, but Teacher is helping me.

I think you should here a little bit about my life too. Here it goes:

Alice-Lenore Frankie Fallows. Pleased to meet ya! Most people actually just call me Frankie, from my littlest sister to my best friend. So I guess I should get to telling you about my life, huh? I don't know what to tell you, I grew up like every other wealthy girl in the start of the twentith century. Really, aside from odd supernatrul powers, there was nothing different about me. Of course... I guess that is majorly weird, huh? Well I thought having powers, even if I had to keep them secret, was the bee's knees. I still think it is. I mean, back in the twenties, there was no one I knew of like me. Dexter says there's a good chance that there were only a handful of people spread out far apart all over the world like me when I was in my time, that I was probably one of the first people powers like these popped up in.

So I was born in 1903 to Patrick and Nora Fallows. The tiny baby with flaming hair and eyes as dark as the night. My mother used to tell me my freckles were the constellations to go with my nighttime eyes. Trust me, with two blue-eyes parents, my dark eyes were a great suprise. Here, the theory is because of my powers over the dark and the shadows, my eyes are just some part of that. It doesn't make much sense to me, but that's okay. Anyway, I was the first of five, three boys and another girl would follow after me. We lived in New York, and I honestly don't see anymore important parts to tell you about my birth. My parents loved me, they spoiled me rotten, as any parent does to their child.

I discovered my powers early on. I was nine or ten. Already I was a bit funny, odd. I wasn't afraid of the dark like my little brothers were, I never had any nightmares of boogeymen, there were no monsters hiding in my shadows. No, the shadows were my friends. And sooner or later, I figured out that I could make them move, jump off the walls and play with me, as long as I stayed in the dark with them. And later on I would even find that I could make the dark do other things, but that was much later on. And then my next power, I didn't even know was a power until Dexter pointed it out to me. My way of taking to anything I try 'naturally'. Innate capabilities is what Dex calls it. I say it's the berries. Uh, yeah, I'm working on trying to update my slang, but the talk these days is just odd. Anyway, those were the powers I had early on in life. My last power didn't come until late on in the story, so I'll go into it later.

I grew up like anyone else, as I said before. Normal mother, normal father. Normal siblings. I was especially close to my younger brother Miles, who was only a year younger then me. He was sweet, if not a bit naive. But he thought it was his job to look after me, bless him. We went everywhere together, and in that way, he came to have a rebellious streak like mine. Besides being a 'modern girl' going to the speakeasy and having all sorts of fun the more proper girls of my generation couldn't, I was also going to protests for women's rights, because it was easy to realize that even if we had gained our rights to vote, we still had a long fight to get all the other rights we deserved but weren't getting. Really, there's nothing to this part of the story. I was a bold young woman, and I wasn't afraid to show it.

Right before I was pulled in time, about a week before, was when I discovered what Dexter calls psionic blasts. I don't know how to describe how it happened, since I wasn't aware what I was doing. Some plastered guy was getting a bit too handsy with me one night out on the street. I told him to stop, and he wouldn't. You've got to understand, this was big guy, and I was too panicked to get my shadow friends to help me. But apparently my panic triggered my last power, because he let go of me, yelling about his head and something about how his skull was going to explode. That was me. I was doing that. But I didn't know that as I ran away. I'm not really sure what else to tell you. I got home that night and went to sleep in the dark, among my shadow friends.

A week later I was pulled through time, just like the snap of your fingers. Now, I've been here for awhile, because I chose to stay here. Things are confusing about this time, but I get on just fine. Dexter is teaching me how to summon my Psionic blasts on command, because right now I can only summon up enough will to do them when I'm angry or overly panicked. Times currently are interesting to say the least. People are much more free about things that were considered very private in the twenties... such as sexuality, as I've experienced first hand. Dexter finds some of the things I wonder at funny, and he's often laughing at me, but that's okay. He reminds me of Miles in a lot of ways, so he's a bit like my little brother, except for he's older then me, sort of. But he's helped a lot, either way, and he's a real sweet guy.

That's it I think. Oh yeah! o u t r a g e o u s KOI knows just about everything about me, so if you're really curious you should ask them!

He's always playing the Teacher

Hey. You already know my real name, but no one ever uses that, most people just call me Dexter or Dex. I've been celebrating my birthday on February twenty-ninth, but on non-leap years I celebrate on the twenty-eighth for the past twenty-four years. My mommy used to say I was her little beastly boy, but I don't think she was ever ready for me to go chasing after those beautiful boys, gorgeous girls, and everyone else inbetween . I think the formal name for that is omnisexual. All that technical stuff doesn't really matter though. What matters is that my heart keeps speeding up for Idealist. Of course, I shouldn't have anytime for romance, considering how busy I am helping the people that preach peace. And of course, I'm always learning something new about my omniscience, probability altering, and energy converting, so when is there time for anything else?

Truth be told, people say I'm;;

          Intelligent
✔ When you have the ability to know anything and everything about any subject out there, you deemed intelligent quite often. Don't get me wrong, my omniscience doesn't get me answers to things that no one knows the answer to, like 'what is the meaning of life'. Hell, I should probably explain this now, the only reason they call this power of mine omniscience is because there is no other word for it. It's really a much lesser form of omniscience. But that's not the point, I'll explain that later. I'm just really, really smart, okay?

          Fair
✔ I don't make fast judgments on almost anything. If I'm trying to sort out two people arguing, I do my best to listen to both sides of the argument. If I think both parties are being stupid? I tell them, whether I'm close to them or not. If someone is more right then someone else? Again I tell them. Even I know when it's time for me to back down from an argument and apologize when I'm in the wrong.

          Patient
✔ You'd have to go at it for quite some time to truly annoy me. Now, there are some things you can say to anger me quickly, but anyone who's done that has learned it was a bad idea. If you wanna hear why it was such a bad idea, I could always point you in their direction and they could give you the whole story. Really though, I'm a patient person, whether I'm helping someone learn more about their power, or I'm dealing with two really bull headed people who won't back down from an argument. Patience is a virtue after all.

I think you should here a little bit about my life too. Here it goes:

My life in a nutshell? Pretty easy, since in the long run, my life is one little speck in the history of the world. Depressing, but true. So I'll put this in a few different parts, okay? That'll make it simpler. One, Two, Three, Four, and Five. Now, are you ready? Let's get this done then.

So I said this would be a five part story, yes? Right, right... what part is this... oh, wait, part one. Yeah, slightly absent-minded here. More then slightly perhaps. Anyway, I was born on a leap year, and trust me, my mother had a fit over that. I'm not sure why. Lillian Delaney is an odd human being. Something about what would my parents do to celebrate my birthday when there was no February twenty-ninth. Okay, so she is odd, and at that time she was a bit silly. Granted, she was trying to push my big old head out of her birth canal. Literally. I have quite a big head. And where was my father, Theodore Delaney at the time? Well, my mother had him to scared to say a word to her, whether it made sense or not. I swear, my mother is a force of nature, powers or no.

Part two? Yes, yes. It took me quite a bit of time to find out that I had the gene that gave me powers. And before that time? I lived quite the normal life of a child from a family in the upper middle class world. My parents had always taught me not to fear people because their different, fear the ones who hate others solely because there is something out of the ordinary about them. They're the real dangerous people. Hate is a strong weapon when it's in the wrong people after all. My mother is a well-known college professor, my father a doctor, a specialist in terminal diseases. Two very intelligent people who wanted nothing more then to be together and have a family. Very understandable, very normal, very peaceful. Where did we live this normal, understandable, and peaceful life? Maine.

Time to move on! Aren't you just excited? Part three is where a lot of the excitement happens, or it was exciting for me. What's more cool then discovering you have powers. Okay, so only one of my powers can be used on the offensive, and that would irk other people, but I'd rather powers that are generally peaceful. It started on my first day of fifth grade, when they were doing placement tests for math and reading and whatever else groups. Most of it was stuff I had never seen before in my life, yet I still understood it all. I was placed in the most advanced classes, and they were still unable to stump me or present me with something I didn't know and understand. That was the first manifestion of my powers. After that, the rest came pretty quick. I couldn't explain my probablity altering powers because they're a bit too complex, and my energy converting happened so weirdly, and I can't even remember it clearly. All you need to now is that I take energy and I convert it into things that I can make go boom.

The manifestations of my powers moves us to part four. You see, my parents did what they could to shield me from the hate that comes when you're lke me. Because they accepeted my powers, accepted me. But in the end, the government stepped in and did what the do when parents don't cooperate. Don't worry, my parents are alive and well. No, what the government did was take it upon themselves to do what they felt was the parents responsibility. They pulled me from school so I couldn't harm the 'normal' children, the entered me into the registry for powered beings. I cooperated, with all of it. If I hadn't, if I had given them even the tiniest reason, they would've whisked me off, away from my family, to be locked up somewhere for the rest of my life. It wasn't so bad. I'm not saying I condone what they did to me. No, I will probably forever be bitter about it, but I lived through it. You have to understand, I have a little sister, she was only six at the time. I seriously could've ******** her up to have her big brother dragged away kicking and screaming by the government.

Part five, the end of the story for now. I still had to be in school, so my parents sent me to the best school they could for powered beings, and that was in New York City. It was a day and boarding school, and as you can guess, I became a boarding school. There wasn't much they could teach me knowledge wise, but they taught me proper control of my powers. I made friends, though I knew that in the end of school, when we released into the 'real' world, we would all have tough choices to make. There is no such thing as neutral when you have powers. Either you move forward and join The Organization, work to keep peace, work to gain the rights you deserve peacefully, or you go to the rebel side, in which case, you're generally more violent. I chose peace. We split in the end, and here we are, fighting for the same thing on different sides, with different morals for the same things. We've even dragged others in, from the past. These are hard time, but it will pass, and we will make sense of it, I'm sure.

That's it I think. Oh yeah! o u t r a g e o u s KOI knows just about everything about me, so if you're really curious you should ask them!

Dexter

From the walkie-talkie on his belt loop, he could hear Cynthia be the first to reply that she was coming. Once she got there however, he did do some responding though. It was more of a natural defense. Cynthia was nice, and he knew that she didn't mean to overhear the thoughts of others, she didn't have much control over her powers yet, but he did what he did nonetheless. His thoughts were his, they were private. And so he let the constant buzz in his head that was the constant stream of new knowledge zipping in and finding a place in his mental catalogue of information grow louder. It wouldn't bother him, but it would be all Cynthia would be able to hear coming from his brain. His thoughts would lay nicely under that cover. Once CJ got a better control over her powers, he was sure that like any other telepath, she would be able block people out completely, or vice versa, focus on one person enough that she could get past blocks such as his, but for now this worked.

"That's why I bought two." he said with a slight nod when CJ asked if she could have a piece of fried dough. She had already taken the piece though. He smiled slightly, ripping off a piece of dough himself. He listened to CJ whine a bit about things. Frankie was the first to comment on her words about lemonade.

"Doll, lemonade's been around since long before even I was born." she said. Dexter was sure she would've taken a sip of her lemonade, if she weren't holding onto not only her lemonade, but her walkie-talkie and the fried dough at the same time. Dexter took a bit of pity on her, reaching out and taking her walkie-talkie without any warning.

"Here, you can clip it onto your waistband like… this!" he said, clipping the device onto her skirt's waistband for. She grinned, looking down at the walkie-talkie on her waistband before exclaiming of how spiffy that was. Again, Dexter laughed at her unique language. "Well, I do suppose that walkie-talkies wouldn't have been all that popular yet in the fifties in just for fun settings." he said, looking to CJ in response to her comment on her walkie-talkie. He would've said more if he didn't catch sight of someone approaching them. An old friend of his, someone he had long since parted ways with. Welcome. Despite all that she said, he didn't say a word back. All he did was smile. Nothing would bother her more then that. Dexter didn't know why, but welcome seemed so much more bothered by his omniscience then other people were. She seemed more bothered by him in general then the others.

As she walked away he glanced at CJ and Frankie. The look on CJ's face wasn't hard to read, and neither was Frankie's. The girl who was always as white as a sheet had a vivid shade of red that seemed to be challenging her hair color in her cheeks. Before he could say anything to either of them, they were approached yet again, and it wasn't by either of the other two in their little group. Jung-Ai, June. She had much of the same brand of sarcasm to share, though as she shared it, Dexter could feel something light weight landing over him, almost like a sheet, and his vision got a shade darker. Looking at CJ, he could see the veil of a shadow resting over her too, and looking at Frankie, he confirmed the source of this protection. She was wrapped like a cocoon from the neck down it seemed. Well, now they knew how much Frankie trusted people not to start trouble. And then he hear June say something about being tingly... "June, don't--" he began, but boom she went. He closed his eyes, expecting to feel the spray of her exploding hands. But that never came. That was what Frankie's veils had been for.

Looking at the two girls he was with, he could see that CJ had been protected too, and Frankie for the most part except... "Frankie. Frankie, don't freak out." he said to her. Frankie freak out? Not good. Her clothes had been protected, anything below her neck really. But above her neck? She had received a good bit of spatter. And as June only bothered to point out one tiny speck before leaving, Frankie had dropped her lemonade and the fried dough, don't that didn't matter much. "You okay CJ?" he asked her, even though Frankie's veil had stopped her from getting any splatter on her.

"If she ain't got a fear of the dark yet, jane don't know from nothing how scary it's gonna get for her now." he heard Frankie hiss. Looking over at her, she had her back to him, and she was stalking off, grabbing napkins from the food stand as she went. He knew not to try and stop her, he was sure she would be okay and keep some sort of control. Probably not much, but some sort of control.

He sighed, looking to Cynthia once more. "Well, I don't need telepathy to know who's planning trouble. I bet you don't either." he said, dropping his lemonade into a nearby trash. So much for eating. "I suppose I could tip the probability scales so that it's less likely they cause trouble or anyone gets hurt, but messing with probability gets dangerous." he said, starting to pull his long dreadlocks back into a ponytail. Messing with probabilities was dangerous, it messed with things that were in many cases, already set to happen based on people's choices and then would affect the future.

However, before he had a chance to make any choice, a fight flashed through his 'live news network' in his brain. "Looks like they've already got a fight going." he said to CJ, already going towards where he could now hear yelling and scuffles. "C'mon!" he said over his shoulder to her as he unclipped his walkie-talkie from his belt loop and speaking into as he got to a crowd and pushed through it. "Gabe, I think we're gonna need some of your hearing over here love. Just follow the yelling and you'll probably find me and CJ at least." with that he clipped the walkie talkie back onto his belt and began tugging at a lanyard tucked under his shirt with his organization id and security pass for this. "Okay, you all need to remember that this is supposed to be a peaceful fair. If you have nothing to do with this, go play a game, see a presentation, get food, I don't really care as long as you get gone from this area!" he said loudly, breaking up a good bit of the crowd with just that. The rest? People piling against each other, fighting? He and CJ had to start pulling them apart.

Just your average trouble disbanding detail.

With each person he pulled out of the way that wasn't all in the fight, there seemed to be two more waiting. Most backed off the second they saw his badge. Some people he had to take by the arm before the dove back in and shove his badge in their faces, rattling off what the outcome would be if they didn't listen to. That generally seemed to change their minds about diving back in. Soon he was finally at the dead middle, and he could see Gabe and CJ pulling apart the two girls that had started all of this. Gabe was holding onto one, yelling for his help, Before he got a chance to do much, CJ was there, and they were yelling at the two to listen. When Gabe asked about who it was, Dexter nodded. "You've got it. Welcome and June wanted to leave their marks." he said.

The girls were let go of soon enough, after they had 'calmed down' a bit. Well, one had calmed down, the other still seemed like she wanted to attack, but she was eyeing the badges that hung around the three that had broken up the fight. Well, there we had the girl who's mind had been slipped into. Looking at her face, he cycled through his never ending mind catalouge of known powered beings and their powers. Soon he had her, and matched her up with her power. "Molly." he said, taking her by the arm and pulling her out of the line of people waiting to be healed by his boyfriend.

"Hey, let go of me you jerk!" she said, starting to get riled up again.

"Molly, this is going to hurt for a second, and I'm really sorry about that, but it's the best way to get rid of traces of thoughts that were never fully yours." he said, feeling a slight spark in his fingers as he summoned some of the energy being used to power his walkie talkie into. An energy converter, he had several choice of what to do with the sparts that were now dancing between his fingers, but he chose to press them against the girl's forehead, making her jump a little and effectively erasing any anger and hate that hadn't been hers before she started the fight. Now she looked up at him, rubbing her temple. "Sorry, had to do it, it's my job." he told her with an apologetic smile. "And you Molly, need to build up your mental defenses. It's kinda bad when you have the power of psychic weaponry and you can't defend against mind control." he warned her before letting her arm go, and gesturing for her to go reclaim her spot in line.

That over with, he looked at the other two; Gabe healing the people who chose to saty and get themselves healed up, and CJ standing there asking something of him. Dexter shrugged slightly at the question, exhaling a long breath. He heard Frankie's voice over the walkie-talkie, and he unclipped it from his belt loop. "We've got you Frankie. Find what you were looking for?" he asked.

"They were leaving, but it was only June and Welcome. I don't know where the other three are. And I've got Richie with me." she was still seething, Dex could hear it in the hardness of her voice over the walkie-talkie. June was lucky she was leaving with her brain in tact. People said small people with bad temper couldn't really do more then talk, well they had it completely wrong. Frankie was a hell of a foe if you pissed her off. Sure, she was five foot nothing, a petite little thing, and a lot of people underestimated what you could do with a bunch of darkness, but they had no idea what kind of power the girl hid in her brain, and if she had no control over it, how much damage she could really do with it. Psionic blasts were no joke.

Now Frankie was coming into veiw, Richard with her. Soon all five were standing together, moody Frankie with her arms crossed over her chest and her 'shadow friends' as she called them clinging to her, ever peaceful Richard next to her, CJ playing with her walkie-talkie, tossing it up into the air and catching it. Gabriel looked to be finishing up with his healing, and Dexter was there, his hands in the pockets of his jeans. He smiled slightly at Frankie first, "You wanna let the shadows go Alice-Lenore? People are going to start feeling like Peter Pan with their shadows missing." he said to her. She glared up at him and after a moment, she did drop the shadows, and she planted her hands on her hips.

Dex smiled, then nodded slightly at Richard. "You missed all the fun Richie." he said with a bit of sarcasm. No, he was far from angry with the male from the sixties. They had been able to handle everything fine, no one had been seriously hurt. Speaking of hurt... "You okay Gabe?" he asked, recalling how much one girl had fought against him when Gabe had pulled her out of the fight. He turned to get a better look at his boyfriend. Gabe could definately hold his own, but while he hadn't been trying to hurt the girl, she had got a pretty good hit off of his face and had scratched the hell out of his arm. "She didn't draw blood, did she?" his eyebrows knit together and he looked Gabe over. He was worried, okay? It wasn't really something he could help when if his boyfriend was the subject. Peaceful or not, they weren't exactly spared from violence, because there was still the matter that it was their responsibility to get into the line of fire a lot of the time, this brawl being a good example.

With a sigh, he looked at his watch, then around them. Their shift had about five minutes until it was over and someone else could take over. Well, they had been there since early that morning, before even the fair had started so they could get their security passes and whatever else, and it was time for another group to take over. He doubted there would be much more trouble for the second shift, seeing as Welcome and June had come and made their little points. "Listen, time's almost up for our shift. I say we just go turn in our walkies and go do something instead of being all gloomy that they started something before we could stop them. Any ideas?"

"We've got you Frankie. Find what you were looking for?" Got me? How on earth do you have me? Frankie thought to herself, but didn't verbalize that particular thought. Just more odd 21st century talk, she was sure. She heard Richard come up behind her and ask a question. She held up a hand as a 'wait a second' signal, replying to Dexter.

"They were leaving, but it was only June and Welcome. I don't know where the other three were. And I've got Richie with me." with that she clipped the walkie-talkie back on her waistband like Dex had done for her earlier, and turned to look at Richard behind her, walking backwards while she talked to him. "June has a deathwish, that's what happened." she said, crossing her arms over her chest. She was still in a bad mood and indignant about being splattered with blood and flecks of skin. She also refused to at the moment let go of the shadows that held onto her. The put her at ease; took a bit of her edge off. "Welcome and June came, started trouble, and left. Guess they're not brave enough to stay and face the music!" the last part she yelled loud enough and towards the retreating Welcome and June. Childish? Maybe. True? She thought so.

You didn't start trouble and run away. She never had. And in her time, she had always been one who radiated towards trouble starting. And the idea of running had never popped into her head when the cops showed up. She stayed and as she said 'faced the music'. "I swear, they're more annoying the the drugstore cowboys back home. It wouldn't be so bad if they just kept to beating their gums, but now, they need to go boom too." she said angrily, turning back around as she bumped into someone for the third time. It may have been useless to use her twenties slang in talking to Richie, since he always showed signs of not understanding a word she said when she did that, but it was the only way she knew how to talk.

She could see they weren't that far away from Dex, CJ and Gabe now. Sthe stopped in front of them, her arms still crossed over he chest. Miles always said I was a bearcat. She thought to herself, smiling slightly. A bearcat, a girl with a fiery personality. Just how her brother would forever describe her whenever found she had gone out and gotten herself in more trouble. "When you gonna stop being such a bearcat, doll? Ain't no one gonna marry you if you keep this up." and she would always have the same reply. "Now you're on the trolley boy-o! You know I never wanna walk down that middle aisle. You just make sure I like the dame you chose to make that trip with, got it? I don't want you ending up with some dumb dora because you can't take your eyes off her gams."

The smile slipped from her face as she thought of the conversation they must've had a million times. She wondered slightly if the second child of their family ever did get married. It wasn't matter of missing home. It was a matter of what had Miles done with his life? She shook the thoughts out of her head. That was the last thing she needed at the moment. She would do more research, make another trip to the library and look for old wedding announcements in the archives. Frankie would be able to put her head at ease once she figured out what kind of life had been left for her family after she was gone. Now, enough of those thoughts. CJ was probably getting more then enough info about what Frankie was doing in her mysterious free-time when she was nowhere to be found in public.

"You wanna let the shadows go Alice-Lenore? People are going to start feeling like Peter Pan with their shadows missing." Dexter was talking to her. Well, that was probably obvious. How many people were there around that were named Alice-Lenore and were holding onto shadows? She was gonna make a safe bet that she was the only one. Glaring up at her friend for a moment, she finally relented and let go of her shadows, letting her arms fall so that her hands were planted on her hips.

The mood would thin slowly, and her hands just fell helplessly to her side in the end. It wasn't her fault who chose what side. But what was kind of disturbing to her was that her thoughts kept making turns to Welcome being right there beside June. They were friends, they were on the same side. Frankie had no business looking at someone who wanted nothing more then for her friends to go take dirt naps.

Dexter was worrying over Gabe, which made the smile return to Frankie's face. There was how a relationship was supposed to be. Those two didn't have some weird love hate relationship, and no one wanted to kill the other's friends. Well... she cast a glance at Cynthia. Okay, so they mostly didn't want to kill each other's friends. She was sure that if Gabe was given a chance he would knock CJ down a few notches is his own way. Dexter usually stepped in before he got that chance though.

"Listen, time's almost up for our shift. I say we just go turn in our walkies and go do something instead of being all gloomy that they started something before we could stop them. Any ideas?" Dexter was asking. Frankie looked down, kicking her foot lightly on the dirt ground, scuffing up the combat boots she was wearing a bit. Yes, combat boots. While every other part of her outfit screamed feminine. she had found these boots in a thrift shop and had for whatever reason come to love them. She practically refused to wear any other shoe.

There were a few things Frankie could think about doing, but she sure as hell wasn't going to verbalize them or even think about them for that matter. They weren't in anyway appropriate for what Dexter meant. "Can we get food? I'm still hungry and Gabe and Richie never did get any of what we got." she said, looking up through the red locks that fell into her eyes. It was the only suggestion she could think of. She really was still hungry, and surprisingly enough, Jung-Ai's incredible exploding girl trick didn't put Frankie off her alway big appetite.

She ignored Welcome's yelling. That she could at least do. Freak with red hair? Oh, she was so original. Frankie was quite aware she was a freak. And that she had red hair. Good for Welcome that she could connect the two and put them together and form a sentence. And oh, she had no idea what Alice-Lenore's mother had taught her. Though, it had something to do with if a girl tried to be you down, you had every right to be vicious back. And if a boy was messing with you? 'Kick him where the sun don't shine and go get one of your brothers' her mother had always said with a wicked smile. And people where she got her attitude and general dispostion towards things. But we were only talking about girls here. Frankie had been taught that no girl could hurt her more then she could hurt them, and that was without powers. With powers? Sure, Welcome could mimic, but that didn't mean she had the level of control that Frankie had, or near as much strength was the power.

Someone grabbed onto her shoulders and spun her around and before she knew it, she was face to face with Welcome. There were so many things wrong with that. For one? She just didn't want to deal with this right now. She had been cheering up a bit at the thought of food, with Gabe backing up her idea. Two? People generally didn't grab Frankie and hold her against her will in anyway for good reason. She could make you feel like your brain was exploding, she could take your memories and rip them to shreds, hell, if she felt like using up pretty much all of her energy and spending the rest of the day asleep, she could put you in a coma for the rest of your life.

More then anything when Welcome spoke to her, she couldn't help but smile at the slight humor of the situation. She was aware it would annoy Welcome, who was trying to get in the last word in it seemed. "Me and my combats boots, huh?" she said in an amused tone over Welcome calling her annoying. So far, this wasn't all that angering. The part that did anger her in the end? When Welcome felt the need to lean in and tell Frankie just how she thought Frankie felt. And okay, she was right, but it still pissed her off.

"Hey!" she grabbed Welcome's arm before the other female could completely escape. "Maybe it's just me, but why don't I point out that if you were really annoyed by me, you wouldn't feel the absolute overwelming need to come and have the last word." she said. "And that liking stuff goes two ways sweetheart." she leaned in and lowered her voice. "Because I'm pretty sure you don't kiss people you hate. And I'm not so good at keeping secrets. I wonder what your boyfriend would think." she let go of Welcome's arm and moved back closer to her friends, her arms crossing back over her chest. She refused to look back, she was more content with glaring up at Dexter and Gabe. Stupid peaceful boy and his stupid peaceful boyfriend.

Okay, so they weren't really stupid. And Dexter knew at least, or that's what she was going to assume with the way he was trying not to laugh at her. "I'd like to see her live in the twenties. Forget about rights because she has powers; they'd all just say she's crazy and lock her up in a looney bin. If she'd said she was a lesbian they'd give her a nice dose of shock therapy. And damnit, she wouldn't be able to handle the fact that women were just starting to be more then property!" it was a rant she had gone on many times, and while she wasn't sure how often Richie and CJ had heard it, she knew that Dexter had heard it at least a dozen times and and Gabe by default half of that, just as a matter of he was around, spending time with Dexter when she inadvertantly walked in on one of her tempermental rampages through the apartment that she was known to spend the night in frequently on the couch. The nights that she wasn't out playing in the dark that is.

Dexter just seemed to wait until she was done. "Would raining on their parade a bit make you feel better?"

She pretended to deliberate for a moment, twirling a red lock of hair around her fingers, before shrugging. "Maybe..." she said slowly, sounding like a child. And with that the idea was off the ground, and Dexter was asking if what she did with her shadows too keep something out would work in reverse, keeping June's explosion to herself. She nodded slow. "Of course. Shadows are like indestructable sheets of weird fabric. Or they are if you control them. I thought you knew everything Dex." she said with a slight smile. She was already reaching out, calling for June's shadow to come play with her so she could give it instructions. She barely listened to Dexter routine defense of his powers. Poor Dexter, everyone was always misdiagnosing his powers and what he could with them.

"Excuses excuses." she said jokingly as the shadow rushed over to her, swirling around her feet like an eager puppy ready to go for a walk. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go have a little conversation with June's lovely shadow, be right back." she said, moving away from the group, drawing the shadow over to the extra shade of a tree. It was a cloudy day, which made it easier to interact with her shadows, but she liked as much shade as possible when she getting ready to send them off and do something for her. In this case, follow along with June and make the girl keep her exploding to herself. "You be a good shadow and cover her. Make sure she keeps her flesh and blood and innards to herself, okay? You have to be a nice strong veil, and if you can, stay as transparent as possible until she actually does explode." The last part was more or less just for her humor, because she couldn't imagine anything more funny to herself at the moment the June expecting herself to explode and cause havoc and then only end making herself implode basically.

"You got it?" she asked the shadow, and she got this feeling from it that she did. That was how they communicated to her. They gave her feelings in reply to her words. "Off you go then." she said, waving the shadow off. She watched it travel off to June. Her eyes fell on the other female, who was with Welcome now, trying to show off or something she wasn't sure, but it just annoyed her.

"Oh, they're real mature." she mumbled to herself, walking back to her own group.

Dexter

Dexter expected to hear about the headache. Healing did that to Gabe. And it most likely didn't help that at the same time while the healing was draining his energey, he was fighting off images revealed to him through his psychometry. Dexter had a pretty good idea of what it was like. The affects of the two powers being used at once was for Gabe like Dexter's use of his energy converting in large amounts with the omniscience he couldn't turn off. A giant migrane and a desire to sleep for twelve hours straight. At least Gabe could put his psychometry on hold, even if it wasn't a real putting it on hold, just blocking it's access to work. Dexter had to forever hear everything that went on as it happened before it put itself in the past and he could just block it out of his head.

He nodded slightly as Gabe showed him where the girl had scratched him, smiling slightly as he hear his boyfriend forgive the girl as he spoke. That was Gabe for you, always seeing the best in people. A lot saw it as a naive trait, and maybe it was, but Dexter liked it, even if the though was a bit cliche to say such. As the other leaned against him, he wrapped an arm around his shoulders, looking up when Frankie asked if they could get food. Gabe was quick to agree with that idea, and Dexter nodded slightly. "You guys cool with that?" he asked, looking to Richie and CJ. Dexter was forever playing the diplomatic one. He guessed that Richie would more or less go with the flow, but CJ? She was a little bit harder to pin down. She and Gabe seemed to always be at each other's throats and Dex swore that sometimes they chose opposite sides just because of that fact.

"Do I have a choice in the matter really?" he asked when Gabe asked if he wanted to carry him. In the end, Gabe would get his way, whatever that way happened to be. Dexter was easily persuaded by Gabe, and Gabe was damn aware of the fact.

Before he could hear any, he heard yelling, directed at who? Frankie. From Welcome of course. Frankie didn't even flinch though, or look around at the other female. No, she waited for Welcome to come and force her to look at her. Then it sounded like Welcome was spouting more nonsense then anything real substance. Eager to get the last word in an argument, that had been Welcome's thing for as long as he had known her. Though Frankie was one of the first people Dex knew of who tried to show no honest fear in Welcome getting in her face. She was flustered by the other yes, but she never showed that until after Welcome was gone. And now? She was even getting in the last word over Welcome, not even bothering to be as quiet as Welcome.

That was the thing, Dex didn't think his friend was bothered by the fact that people knew she liked another girl. She was more freaked out that she was liking someone of the same gender was what it seemed to be. That and Welcome and Frankie were like two opposing forces of nature, each getting on each other's nerves. That showed even more as Frankie turned back to them, her bad mood seeming to have returned at full force. Dexter tried his best not to laugh, he really did. But there was something funny about a girl who was five foot nothing glaring up at him with her arms crossed and a pout. It gave her quite the childish look. "I'd like to see her live in the twenties. Forget about rights because she has powers; they'd all just say she's crazy and lock her up in a looney bin. If she'd said she was a lesbian they'd give her a nice dose of shock therapy. And damnit, she wouldn't be able to handle the fact that women were just starting to be more then property!"

Dex coughed to cover up his laugh. He had heard the rant on more then one occasion. She was very insistant on those points and apparently felt the need to repeat them often. Whether it was at a coffeehouse, at Organization headquaters, or at their apartment. Well, the apartment that was sort of their apartment. It was really where he and Gabe lived, and where Frankie basically lived and helped pay some of the rent, but did it really count when much of the time she was out all night, playing with the shadows and dark, only coming back for clothes and a shower and on occasion food? She didn't even have a bed, she prefered to make herself an odd little nest in the room that you could call hers. Yep, Frankie was an odd person indeed.

"Would raining on their parade a bit make you feel better?" he asked her. It wasn't long before she gave him her version of a yes. "Can you do the opposite of what you did early to keep June from totally splattering us in her lovely way? As in, keep her exploding completely to herself?" he asked. He didn't trust June or Welcome as long as they were at this fair, and if there was one way to keep them from causing trouble, it was to put some powers out of commission. That was also something that could be asked of Gabe, but his boyfriend had already stretched himself with the healing, he would feel bad asking more of him. And Frankie didn't need to be nearby to have her shadows do her bidding. As far as she and Dex had tested, it was a five mile radius she could extend that power; and everything in this fair was most defininatly within a five mile radius of everything else.

Frankie answered with a yes, and teasing of him supposedly knowing everything. "Almost everything. I can't tell you jackshit about the plans people make for the future, and I can't know what you can do with your powers when you haven't done it yet. So there." Frankie's response was an 'excuses excuses' line before she excused herself with June's shadow. Dexter watched after her for a second before shaking his head, looking at the others. "So do we want junk food or real food? Well, all the food here is junk food really, but you know what I mean. It's like, pizza or nachos. Or both." he grinned sillily.

As he waited for an answer he glanced over at Frankie, who was now sending off the shadow. He followed the wisp like thing until it got back to June, settling over her and virtually disapearing. Looks like someone would be in for a surprise if the decided to explode. He sighed slightly as he saw June and welcome trying to mess with Frankie. "Anyone know when Frankie and Welcome are going to grow up and stop handing their issues like high school students?" he asked.

"I heard that Dexter Delaney." Frankie said as she got closer. Dex only smiled sheepishly at her, shrugging.

"I don't know what you're talking about Alice-Lenore, no idea whatsoever. Do you know what she might be talking about Gabe?" he did is best to sound innocent as he spoke.
