Chiron Lampard
O-n-e_____nigʯt the m.o.o.n said to me "If he makes you cry why don't you leave ----him----?"

The full moon shone down through the hug oval spring line style window that sat in the parlor of the big mansion. Chiron stood alone in the moonlight, his anger swelling towards his brother. They had to be safe by now and he wanted out of the house. He wanted to live amongst the people again. His heart ached at the thought of being locked in this silly house for all eternity. He thought of how easy it would be just to walk out. To just leave his brothers. But they had always taken such good care of him and he truly did love all for them. He could not face leaving them. He sat in front of the window and touched the glass; he wanted to go outside so badly. He wanted to at least go out into the yard, to lie in the grass. What could be the harm in that right? Nobody ever came out this way anyway. He thought he would be perfectly okay if he went out.
The floor boards creaked below petite Chiron’s footsteps. He was quite a small man; he stood at 5’9” and weighed only 130 pounds if that. He looked around the entry way of their home to make sure that none of his brothers were around. He did not want to get caught sneaking out against the rules. He slowly slid the lock out of the place on the door and opened the door. He gasped in joy when the warm sweet scented summer breeze hit him, making his hair blow behind him slightly. He stepped out into the tall grass of their front yard. He turned around taking in all that was around him. He laid in the grass staring up at the stars and the moon. The fireflies danced all around him. He found it to be completely magical. How he so wished he could share this night, this moon, this joy with someone. But he was completely alone.
As he laid there in the soft grass, he reminisced of his first lover. A man he had hired to handle his business affairs for him by day. He had trusted the man with everything he had. He had loved him with his whole heart. Tears welled up in his eyes as he thought of all the good times they had, had together. All the late night visits, all the gentle touches, and all the tender heartfelt kisses. He wished he could have at least said goodbye. He did not want to leave that night but they had to for their lives, he hoped that his lover understood. He knew the man had long since died, but he couldn’t help but wonder if he had moved on, gotten married and had a family. He hoped the man had.
Chiron stood from his bed in the grass and stretched his limbs. Last time he had snuck out he went into the city to see what had changed. He was surprised and thrown into awe by the world he saw around him. They had magical light that was lit without fire, the dress was extremely odd but Chiron found himself attracted to it. He had loved all that he had seen. He wanted to leave again, to go explore the world he had seen five years ago, but he knew it was best if he waited. He contented himself with just exploring their over grown garden. He touched the roses as he walked by, roses were his favorite. The bush he had planted over 200 years ago grew wildly along the ground, it had dozens of blooms and grew up the wall. He was delighted by all the flowers and scents. He was such a gentle man, he loved to garden when he could. He plucked a single rose as he walked up the cascading steps to the upper level of the garden. Chiron was surprised to see their fountain from Rome still trickled water. He sat at the edge and ran his fingers through the cool crystal water. Everything around him brought a smile to his lips.
As he relaxed in the garden a cat found its way over to him. It had been living in the garden for sometime. Chiron squealed in delight and picked the kitty up. He stroked its soft fur and held the warm living creature close to his body. He smiles and felt the warmth flood into his body. He would not harm the poor cat, he would keep it as his secret friend. He smiled wide as the cat purred in his arms. He had not felt this happy in sometime. This was turning out to be a perfect night. He had made a new friend and visited the long forgotten garden. He sat the cat down, who immediately started brushing up against his legs. He plucked a few roses for a vase in his bedroom, his slender pale fingers wrapped around the stems, unafraid of the thorns. He looked back up at the sky just in time to see a falling star. He soul stirred deep within him, he knew their lives were about to change forever. That thing’s were never going to be the same again. But he was not scared. Chiron welcomed the changes with open arms.
Chiron would not allow himself to be afraid; he would be strong for the love his heart still longed for. He walked into the back door into the green house and ascended the large spiral staircase with the cat following him into his own room. He set the roses on his bedside and table. The cat jumped onto his bed and laid down. He sat at his desk and read over very old love letters he had received from his lover. It always pained him to know what he had lost but it also warmed him to know that he had loved. He was ready to love again he thought, he was ready to try again, if they were ever allowed to leave this empty cold house.
