Suddenly Billie slid next to him on the piano seat. The melody she was playing was light and sweet, kinda catchy too. "Does it? He just picks up random kids from the street?" He said and laughed a little at the comment. He had heard that Joel did that on some website somewhere over the internet. But Zach tossed out the comment as a crazy rumor, turns out it wasn't such a crazy rumor after all. Her question caught him off guard, buy him things? "Oh, well he bought me a few guitar picks." He said. When Billie suddenly stopped playing he thought maybe he had said something wrong and his eyes followed her to the small table she stopped at. "Those are just a bunch of random thoughts, nothing really special." He said as he stood up from the piano and walked to the other side of the small table. Glancing from page to page he was disappointed at the waste of all the papers. Maybe somewhere among them there was something workable. Hero complex? "Well he does a damn good job with the whole father figure thing." Really Joel seemed more like his father then his own did.

Zach began shifting through the papers, looking for something that looked presentable. This one song was rewritten so many times, they would have looked the same to any one else. He picked up one of the sheets and imagined the melody in his head. No, that one didn't sound right. "Well if you couldn't tell by the papers everywhere, we sorta got absorbed in the music. But I'm sure he would have told you." He said. It seemed more like Billie was just speaking what was coming to mind. But that was okay. He would listen to her. "Trust me, it was already much more horrible than you could ever play it." He said when she put the guitar back on the stand. He didn't like that one what - so - ever. But then again, he was super critical on his own works. "A tour? Well I've only really been in this room and my guest room." He shrugged and let himself be dragged by the blond. Zach just nodded at everything she said, there wasn't much he could say that he hadn't said before.

The tour ended at the pool area, which to be honest, he hadn't even noticed.

It was a perfect night. The moon was out, and everything was quiet. Well, as quiet as a Phoenix apartment can get. Aside from the cars speeding down the streets outside and the occasional ambulance, the building itself was quiet. Being located near ASU, the majority of the residents were college kids. Normally there would have been at least one huge and loud party but it was the day after finals. And everyone was just happy to get to sleep at a reasonable hour without cramming their brains full of knowledge. Sadly, this wasn't true for Marie Allen, a junior studying photography. She had a flight to catch in all of three hours

Why would anyone in their right mind go through the drama of the airport instead of a good night's sleep? Well, Marie Allen was one of the lucky few who got approved for a semester of studying abroad. And Ireland to be specific. One of the most beautiful places in the world. It was ten o'clock and that meant there was no time to lose. The flight left at 1o'clock, that gave her three hours; one of which would be spent driving there, and the other two getting through security and the craziness of the airport. Marie grabbed her huge suitcase and her camera case, locked the door, and made it down stairs to the taxi waiting for her.

After the hassle of the airport and the grueling ten hour flight; not to mention the layover in London. Marie Allen, a girl that had only been out of the country once before, was officially in Ireland. The landscape was so much different than Phoenix. The ride to the little town was long, but not shorted by Marie asking the driver to pull over so she could snap a shot. Everything was just so green and vibrant and it continued as far as she could see. As the taxi pulled into the city, she couldn't resist taking pictures of everything. From the people to the buildings.

By the time the taxi stopped in front of her new family's house, the driver must have been completely aggravated; Marie attempted to make conversation with the man between snapping photos, apparently he wasn't in a very good mood. But it didn't bother her much, she would chat with her new family for a little bit and then go out and explore the town. She hadn't given much thought about her new family in the time it took to travel here. Suddenly nerves and curiosity overtook her as she lugged her suitcase up the short pathway to the house. Would they be nice? Strict? What if they would have like five kids? No. The house was way too small for that. It looked like it had maybe three bedrooms max. Well, months of anticipation all boiled down to this. Marie knocked three times on the door and waited for a response. After there was no response, she wondered if they were deaf. "I'm Marie, the exchange student. Anyone home?" She shouted, futilely hoping someone would hear her. What was she going to do if she had the wrong house?

Glancing down at the fancy official paper from her school, she checked the address and it was correct. The house numbers matched up. '3780 Skerrys St.' Looking around the yard, Marie couldn't tell if someone was home or not. At least the house looked like someone lived there, the yard was nicely taken care off. Hopefully the family would be somewhat like she expected, though it wasn't turning out like she had imagined.

So you probably know who I am. The lead guitarist of the super popular band, Blind Faith. Or you would have no interest in my life story. Am I right? Well let's take it from the top then. But I must warn you it probably won't fill your heart with warmth.

Twenty - three years ago on the rainy spring night of April ninth, a tiny little girl with light brown hair was born. Yea, that was me. My mother raised me all by herself, even though she wasn't even out of high school. Her high school sweetheart leaving as soon as she announced she was pregnant, talk about a douche bag. As most of you know I am from Las Vegas, and yes my mother never graduated. But she kept a roof over my head and dinner at the table. When I was younger my mother left me with her friend that lived in the same apartment complex as us. Her friend had a little boy only a year older than me. So we basically grew up together. He was like a big brother to me.

When I was about eleven, I went with my mom to her boyfriend's concert. It was a pretty shabby venue but the band was amazing. And I knew from then on, that I was going to play guitar one way or another. I was always getting into some sort of trouble whether in school or with friends. My mother thought that maybe buying me a guitar would help me stay out of trouble so much, but I think it didn't help as much as she would have liked. I think I might have gotten four A's on semester report cards. I was much too busy practicing with the band and playing anywhere that would let us. But all the practicing payed off. We got signed to Wind-up Records within a month of graduating high school. Pretty sweet, seeing as most artists wait years to get signed.

After we got signed, we got started making our first official album. All the effort we put into the album was well worth it because it went gold and we released two singles that hit the top of the charts. We also went on a nationwide tour, which was the first time most of us had even been out of the state. We lathered in that success for a while before we started work on our second album. The first single off that album hit the number one spot on Billboard Hot 100 and was there for nine weeks. We plan to release our second single soon after we make the video, but I'm not supposed to release any details. We'll see how that goes.

After nearly nine hours of traveling, Marie Allen was not in a very patient mood. Just as she was going to knock on the door again, she heard a voice in the house. Well at least the family was home. Maybe some people just didn't get up very well in the morning. Or maybe they just forgot that she was coming today. If she didn't go to school it would have been nearly impossible to keep up with the crazy schedule. Glancing around the neighborhood, it looked like a fairly average area. It looked like the crime rate was fairly low and not too much drama. Probably a good place to raise a family. Oh, that was a scary thought, that sounded like something her mother would say.

As she was mentally cursing herself for the odd remark the door opened. She put a smile on her face and tried to pretend she wasn't early as tired as she was. Once she noticed who opened the door, the smile slowly fell from her face. Didn't the family say they only had a ten year old daughter? What in the world was the guy doing in their house? A cute guy, but a stranger all the same. She soon realized they were just standing there staring at each other like idiots. She hadn't even realized that the boy had asked her a question until he asked it again in English. She had to admit that his heavy Irish accent that came through his English was pretty sexy.

"Umm. Tá mé Marie Allen. Tá mé an mac léinn a mhalartú. I gcás ina mbeidh an Buckley's?[I am the exchange student. Where are the Buckley's?]" Marie stated. The girl wasn't an expert at Gaelic, but she had taken five years of the language at this point so she considered herself able to keep up a good conversation. The most important thing on her mind was finding out what happened to her exchange family.

Marie pretended to ignore the gesture to come inside. There was no way she was going to go inside this stranger's house. She continued to stand right outside the door next to her huge bag of luggage. Realizing she had the address in her hand, she checked once more. Glancing between the paper and the black numbers neatly printed on the side of the house, there was no mistake. As much as she didn't want to go inside with this stranger, there was no way in hell she was going to go back to the airport and travel another nine hours back to the USA. That was out of the question. So what options did she have left?

With last quick goodbyes, the members of Blind Faith, quickly separated into their own limos to prepare themselves for the Benefit for Haiti party later that night. As Maryann Levi, known in the media as Suede and to her friends as Levi, climbed into the limo, she was completely exhausted. She got up at six in the morning for an interview with MTV. Then, they had a c.d. signing in the mall. Afterward, they came here for a concert and spent another two signing autographs and taking pictures. People say that's its so easy being in the public spotlight, but it's quite the challenge.

The limo pulled to a stop, and the short blond stepped out onto the curb of her house, quickly going inside. The house was pretty nice for a twenty - three year old. It was a modern house with black and white as the main colors and splashes of red in artwork and rugs and such. The only closed off part of the house was the guest bedroom and bathrooms; even her room was connected aside from the dividers you could set up. But she liked the house exactly how it was. Glancing at a clock, it was already seven-thirty and she hadn't even showered yet. And there was no way she was going out the house without showering. It was unavoidable, she was going to be late. Not that this wasn't a usual thing for Levi; she was rather notorious for being late.

Forty - five minutes later she emerged from her house and slipped into the little black and red '73 mustang, the one she swore she would get one day since she was about five. Yes, there was a lot of maintenance work, but she loved the car, almost as much as her first guitar. She pulled out of the driveway and headed to the mansion. It was supposed to be a benefit party but she doubted it would look like one very much. Being in Hollywood for six years, Levi understood how it worked. Everyone was going to show up and act like they were doing this good and grand thing, when half the people would be wasted by the end. So much for helping people.

After twenty minutes of driving, the blond parked on the curb and walked towards the entrance. It was as if the paparazzi had no lives. What were they still doing here? They should just go home already, because she was in no mood to talk to them. Levi assumed that they had celebrity senses and whenever one was close it kicked in. As soon as she was close, they swarmed around her all trying to ask questions at the same time. She put on her fake smile and attempted to answer their questions. "What are you wearing tonight?" "It's the newest from Betsey Johnson." She responded, she did look great in the black dress with gold embroidery. "When is Blind Faith's next music video coming out?" The next reporter asked. "Sometime soon, but I'm not supposed to leak any details." She replied, trying to be as vague as possible. "When is your next performance?" One reporter practically yelled. "We will be preforming next month sometime." She replied with a smile, she was making headway, less than half to go, but all of the reporters were looking at her, and it was getting annoying.

After another ten minutes of question upon question, Levi made it inside. The event was exactly like she had predicted. Everyone was dancing, and not much helping. Looks like it would be another wasted night that she could be using to do anything but this. Usually the girl would be up to partying, but it was a long day and she didn't want to use a tragic natural disaster as an excuse to party. In her mind you didn't need an excuse to party so why try and cover it up? Levi maneuvered to the bar where she order a strawberry Daiquiri. The guys in the band should be here somewhere, or at least Zach, Blind Faith's bass player, who was one of the most punctual people she had ever met, would.

Levi looked for her band mates but after a minute realized to was a futile task. Looking around again she noticed many familiar faces, but not really anyone she wanted to talk to. She noticed a man sitting alone at a table not too far from where she was. There was really nothing else she wanted to do, so she might as well talk to him. As she approached, Levi thought it was Aden Pierce. He had directed many of her favorite movies. "Mind if I join you?" She asked while taking a seat next to him. "Aden Pierce right?" She asked just to make sure. It would be pretty embarrassing if it wasn't. Wouldn't that be the perfect way to start the evening?

Jareth had absolutely nothing to do. It was going to be another long, long day. He was sitting on his throne, tapping the arm of the chair. You would think that the room would be quiet since he had no family in the enormous castle. But there were may inhabitants of the castle, mainly his loyal, but obnoxious goblins. They were so loud, he could barely hear himself think. "Shut up. Will you let me think for once?" He yelled to them. He pushed his way threw the gremlins exiting the room. He wandered through the empty hallways feeling lonelier and lonelier. This place was too big for one person. He had built this place six hundred years ago to separate himself from the rest of the world. People had seemed too cruel to go on living with them. But he realized now that it was better to put up with it than live all alone with those mindless idiots.

While the Goblin King was lost in thought, he wondered into the Escher Room. It was his favorite room in the castle, because few people dared to enter it. It was almost impossible to find your way out of it, because of the numerous stairs and doors. But the best part was that on the other side of the Escher room was his bedroom. Which was actually helpful, those damn goblins, well most of them, didn't bother him in there. Quickly walking threw the room, he entered into his chamber and closed the door behind him. It was completely silent in the room, a welcomed change from the other room. He sat down in one of the chairs that looked out into his kingdom below.
