- ★ xx PHYSICAL APPEARANCE
- AGE
- ★ Seventeen [ 17 ] years old; 12 April—Aries.
HOW OLD THEY APPEAR
- ★ Majorly depends on if he takes the time to keep up with his appearance. If he does, he looks his age, maybe a year older. If not, he can look as young as fourteen or fifteen.
EYE COLOR
- ★ Dark brown in sunlight; black in fluorescent lighting; red-brown in direct lighting.
GLASSES/ CONTACTS
- ★ Glasses; without them, the best he can make out is blurry shadows.
HAIR COLOR, LENGTH, AND STYLE
- ★ Jun’s hair is best described as being short and long. At its longest point, it reaches the nape of his neck and a little over his ears. He has grown out his bangs of that they completely cover his forehead and fall just over his eyes. On windy days and even days where’s only the slightest breeze, it’s hard to keep it in place, and thus it always has a sort of messy quality to it. Unlike the rest of his family, Jun’s hair isn’t straight—it’s a bit wavy, but if he tries hard enough he can make it lie flat for a couple of hours. Like his eyes, it’s dark brown, but in direct light it looks black. Think Jun Matsumoto with bed head and you have it (the fact that they also share the same name is a complete coincidence).
HEIGHT AND WEIGHT
- ★ Five foot six inches (168 cm); anywhere from one hundred twenty to one hundred forty lbs (54 – 63 kg).
TYPE OF BODY
- ★ A bit on the scrawny side. However, Jun is a seventeen year old male. He has muscles, they just aren't distinguishable. In the tenth grade, he did a lot of track and field, so he has more lower body strength than upper.
SKIN TONE AND TYPE
- ★ Fair. The last thing he would describe it as is creamy, because that’s gross to him. Pale, would be another word he would use, although his skin does have a little color in it, just a little washed out. In the winter, it gets really dry and itchy, but in the summer, if he stays out in the sun too long, he’ll turn light, light brown, then peel like an onion.
SHAPE OF FACE
- ★ Jun’s face is oval-shaped with cheeks that his mother and even Usachan describes on multiple occasions as “simple squeezable”, though the latter does it only to spite him. There’s nothing too overly special about his face; he has two eyes (dark brown) a thin nose and a mouth with thin, pink lips. More often than not, there’s a frown bordering a scowl decorating his features, but it’s usually because he’s concentrating or thinking intently on something.
DISTINGUISHING MARKS
- ★ Jun doesn't have any distinguishing marks, just small, nearly invisible scars from his childhood and the occasional bruise or cut due to his clumsiness.
PREDOMINATE FEATURES
- ★ His hair and his glasses. It’s the easiest way to find Jun in a crowd, much to his annoyance.
ARE THEY HEALTHY/ DO THEY LOOK HEALTHY; WHY/ WHY NOT
- ★ Jun is a very healthy person; he gets the obligatory cold maybe one or twice a year, due to being in an environment where he's surrounded by teenagers five and a half days a week, but other than that, it's rare that he ever gets sick. Appearance-wise, the weather and his mood makes huge differences on if he looks healthy or not. On bright, sunny days, he has a sort of natural glow if he's in an okay mood. When the weather turns colder, however, he tends to look a little washed out.

- ★ xx FAVORITES
- FAVORITE COLOR
- ★ Jun has a tendency to lean toward dark, woodsy colors such as dark green, brown, crimson, goldenrod, and occasionally dark blue.
LEAST FAVORITE COLOR
- ★ Contrary to popular belief, Jun doesn't dislike the color pink. Of course, that isn't to say that he likes it; to him, it just is. On that note, Jun's least favorite color is white and white variations.
FAVORITE TYPE OF MUSIC
- ★ Nearly anything by Chopin. That's the only extent to which he likes classical music. In Japanese, he's quite partial to abingdon boys school, Morning Musume, Jyongri and MINMI. In American, he's fond of Lady Gaga and The Black-Eye'd Peas. In Korean, he likes 2NE1, SHINee, Big Bang and Epik High. Recently he's started getting more into French pop music, and thus far he really likes Superbus.
FAVORITE FOOD
- ★ Pretty much anything that has spices in it that isn't spicy. Jun hates spicy food with the fiery passion of a thousand white hot suns. Currently, he's figured out that he really likes Italian food. Of course, he is, in fact, a seventeen year old male; he'll take whatever he can get his hands on to eat. Leftovers from whatever his mom cooked the other day and whatever snacks his sister has in the fridge are some of his other favorites.
FAVORITE LITERATURE/ AUTHOR
- ★ Whoever was responsible for writing his textbooks, because that’s all he seems to be reading. That’s… spoken sarcastically, of course. In all actuality, Jun doesn’t have a favorite author or a favorite piece of literature because he doesn’t have the time to sit somewhere for hours and just read. That isn’t to say that he doesn’t read, however—he’s a huge fan of reading the morning paper during breakfast, and if not there, on the train to school.
MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
- ★ Walking, except for when he needs to get somewhere far, then it's either the train. If push comes to shove, then he'll take a cab, but he hates riding in cars.
HOBBIES
- ★
HOW DO THEY SPEND A RAINY DAY
- ★ Either at Bunko's place or having Bunko come over to his place to lament about their boredom together.

- ★ xx PERSONALITY
- DAREDEVIL/ CAUTIOUS
- ★ A little of both. There are times when Jun likes to live life on the edge, and coax his friends to do along with him. But at the same time he refuses to do anything that might kill himself or other people. One has to draw the line somewhere, right?
DO THEY ACT THE SAME ALONE AS WHEN WITH SOMEONE
- ★ It depends on who that 'someone' is. For example, Jun would act very different around one of his classmates than a member of Incertus—Jun hates Incertus unlike he's hated anything ever before. To that effect, he purposely does things he knows would piss them off, whereas he wont bother with his classmates. It's not that Jun thinks it pointless to waste such effort on people he goes to school with (even though he does think it's pointless), it's just that Jun doesnt really hate anyone else.
HABITS
- ★ If being clumsy is a habit, then it's his biggest one. Also, Jun habitually goes to the bakery with Usachan after school lets out, and goes home to take a nap after that. If we're talking about little things, he tends to tap whatever writing instrument he has in his hand on whatever surface is in front of him when his mind wanders or he's bored.
GREATEST STRENGTH
- ★ His inability to care and his ability to differentiate lies from the truth.
GREATEST WEAKNESS
- ★Also, his inability to care. Not to mention Usachan and Kaz.
SOFT SPOT
- ★ As clichéd and bedtime story as it sounds, Jun's biggest soft spot are the people he calls his friends—Usachan and Kaz.
- IS IT OBVIOUS; WHY/ WHY NOT
- ★ Quite obvious. It's because of his weakness to his friends that Jun hates Incertus as much as he does.
IF NOT, HOW DO THEY HIDE IT
- ★ - - -
BIGGEST VULNERABILITY
- ★ His glasses. Once they're separated from his eyes, it's nearly impossible for him to see anything. He can easily go through three pairs in a year, as he tends to misplace or break them due to his clumsiness.

- ★ xx BACKGROUND
- HOMETOWN
- ★ Kawagoe, Japan
TYPE OF CHILDHOOD
- ★ Jun’s actually had a pretty easy childhood. As a child, he grew up with two sisters and a mother and father. He wasn’t made fun of (much) in school and he easily made friends. He made straight-A’s in everything he did until the eighth grade, which he skipped entirely and became a ninth grader. Ever since, he’s only made average grades, which he was fine with. His sisters liked to tease him about his glasses and how thick they were until he found things to tease them about and they stopped. When he and Bunko were fourteen, they tried to run away from home and go on an amazing adventure only to get to the next city over before they were caught by Haruko, who immediately brought them home to incensed mothers and four weeks of not being able to see each other. That was probably the worst trouble Jun’d ever been in in all of his childhood.
MOST DEFINING CHILDHOOD EVENT
- ★ Not so much as most defining as the most memorable was when Jun and Bunko tried to run away from home and go on a grand adventure when they were fourteen. It was during Golden Week, and they pretended to go into town to hang out only to take another train and head for the next city. The only reason they were caught was because Jun had forgotten his older sister was shopping in the same town and they accidentally ran into each other in the street. When she brought them back home and told her and Jun’s mom what happened, she was so angry that she forbade Jun from seeing or talking to Bunko for a month. The same fate befell Bunko when her own mother found out. Even so, they still plan their grand adventure whenever they don’t have to worry about parent breathing down their backs.
EDUCATION
- ★ Completed his second year of high school. He never finished his last year of high school.
RELIGION
- ★ Jun isn't religious. More than anything else, Jun doesn't give a damn if God exists or not.
FINANCES
- ★ The allowance he gets from his mom. Most of it, he uses to pay his mobile bill, but the rest is spending money for his excursions with Usachan.

- ★ xx FAMILY
- MOTHER
- ★ Mizuki Hagane
Jun’s mother, who works nights as a nurses aid at the nearby hospital since she divorced her husband and Jun’s father. She’s an extremely kind woman, like the ones you hear about in ideal situations, where they prepare snacks for you and your friends when you tell them you’re having guests. She remembers all of Jun’s and Riko’s and Haru’s friends whenever they come by the house, and makes friendly conversation with them, thus earning the Hagane household as the coolest house to go to when Haruka and Jun were in high school together. Despite all that, however, Jun’s mother can easily mask her true feelings and hide things from other people. [SPOILER!] Ever since Jun was small, she’d know about his Kotodama abilities, and she knew that eventually, Incertus would come for him and there would be nothing she could do about it. [ENDSPOILER!] Mizuki looks to keep things positive and is usually seen with a smile when she isn’t angry at Jun or Riko. She also has a penchant for watching talk shows on television during the day when Jun and Riko are at school.
FATHER
- ★ Tatsuyo Hagane
Jun’s father was a man who came from a wealthy family. When Jun’s grandparents died when he was four, his father inherited the family business and acquired a lot more money, which he used to buy a house for Jun’s mom. Things were peaceful for years, until Jun was fourteen (Haruka was sixteen and Moriko was twelve) and his parents just blew up at each other. Apparently they’d been fighting for ages and none of the kids had known. Well, Jun suspects that Haruka knew to an extent, but he doesn’t care enough to ask. Jun and his father parted on bad terms, and as such, Jun couldn’t care less about him.
SIBLINGS
- ★ Moriko Hagane ■ Fifteen years old; Jun's younger sister
Moriko "Riko" Hagane is a ninth grader at the middle school Jun himself attended. She's small and relatively quiet and does not share the same cynical indifference her older brother has. She has a penchant for designing things, like pattern prints and clothes, and wants to go to Y Art School instead of a normal high school next year. Although she's quiet, she can still be a whiny, annoying little sister, and likes to pester Jun and Haruka for no reason.
Haruka Hagane ■ Nineteen years old; Jun's older sister
Haruka "Haru" Hagane is a college freshmen at B Community College to get all of her basic classes out of the way before she sets off to T University to complete her major, Forensic Science. She also works as a waitress in a fancy restaurant downtown and lives with her on again, off again fiancee and comes home every weekend and sometimes when her and her fiancee are 'off again'. She loves comic books and watching anime, and isn't ashamed to admit it to people she knows. When she was Jun's age, he dyed her hair blonde in an act of rebellion and has yet to dyed it back to her natural dark brown color, saying that 'it's more edgy and people look at me more.' When Haru gets mad, however, she gets mad—she can hold grudges for months if she wanted to.

- ★ xx ATTITUDE
- MOST AT EASE WHEN
- ★ When he's with Usachan. They could be doing anything at all; grabbing snacks together after school, walking home together, wandering around town after dark, so long as he's with Usachan, Jun feels completely at ease. Perhaps it's because they've known each other for so long that they understand each other, or that they know things about each other that they'd like for no one else in the world to know, so it's alright to be themselves around each other (not that Jun has any problem with that).
MOST ILL AT EASE WHEN
- ★ When pushed in a corner or when he's guilted into doing something he doesn't want to do. Even to people like him, it happens sometimes, the guilt-trips and such. It's usually his mom or his sisters or Usachan who do it, though, so he doesn't mind as much as if it were someone else. When he's metaphorically pushed into a corner however, he gets angry and lashes out and generally gets in a really pissy mood.
[SPOILER!] When he's doing things for Incertus. He cant shake the feeling that he's working for a bunch of murders and kidnappers, when in reality he knows that there's only one murder and kidnapper he really has a problem with. The Advisor bothers him a lot as well—he knows things about Jun that only Jun hasn't told anyone else in his life, and even some things about Jun that Jun himself doesn't know. And having the leading official of the syndicate he hates knowing so much about Jun admittedly slightly paranoid. [ENDSPOILER!]
Jun is also most ill at ease when he's wet. Not bath wet, but completely, clothes-stuck-to-your-skin, head-to-toe, soaked. It's only happened once by complete accident, but simply recalling the experience still makes Jun the slightest bit uncomfortable.
PRIORITIES
- ★
PHILOSOPHIES
- ★
HOW DO THEY FEEL ABOUT THEMSELVES
- ★ [SPOILER!] There wasn't anything anything special about himself, except that he was a little (lot) more cynical and honest than his classmates, but he was alright with that. It wasn't anything he wanted to change. But since the incident with Incertus, Jun's acquired a feeling of self-loathing that only seems to keep growing as the days pass, as he blames Usachan's death on himself.
Ever since he's started practicing his Kotodama abilities, he's been uncomfortable as he's never had his emotions exposed like they are now. It's a little embarrassing, sometimes.
PAST FAILURE THEY WOULD BE EMBARRASSED TO ADMIT; WHY
- ★
IF GRANTED ONE WISH, WHAT WOULD IT BE; WHY
- ★ [SPOILER!] For things to go back to the way they were before Incertus came and ruined his life, verbatim. Although that wish is impossible to fulfill, as Incertus has been in his life since he was born. [ENDSPOILER!]

- ★ xx TRAITS
- OPTIMIST/ PESSIMIST; WHY
- ★ Ultimately, Jun is an introvert. But sometimes, in certain cases in which he deems it necessary, he can be an extrovert. These cases are few and far between however, as Jun really isn’t the type to have his emotions out in the open, and will try to steer clear of revealing them to other people usually by any means necessary.
INTROVERT/ EXTROVERT; WHY
- ★ If there is a defining line between the two, Jun is definitely there. He may lean a little more on the pessimistic side, but at times he can be the biggest optimist around. These times, however, often seem to only occur when Bunko’s present, and it may or may not be a mere coincidence. Conversely, Jun can also be the biggest pessimist around when he’s in an extremely foul mood, even when Bunko’s around. With Jun, one can never tell.
DRIVES AND MOTIVES
- ★
TALENTS
- ★ Being a clumsy ********]
[SPOLIER!] Kotodama, or the power of language, in which Jun can conjure objects by describing them or speaking their name. Some things are easier to conjure up than other, and he hasn't had much practice with it yet, so it the results vary from time to time.[ENDSPOILER!]
Some track and field, meaning that although Jun can't walk without tripping over his own feet, he can run distances with relative ease. Tall fences and gates aren't usually a problem for him, either.
EXTREMELY SKILLED AT
- ★
EXTREMELY UNSKILLED AT
- ★ Anything pertaining or having to do with hand-eye coordination, hand-foot coordination, foot-eye coordination, or any other ridiculous combination that has to do with coordination. Basically, Jun is probably the least coordinated person in the world. If he didn't think about it constantly when he walks, he'd probably trip and fall on his face every five feet, no joke.
CHARACTER QUIRKS
- ★
CHARACTER FLAWS
- ★ His biggest flaw would probably be his anger issues. As proud as he is of pushing other peoples buttons to annoy them, he can get pretty pissed off when his own buttons are pressed. [SPOILER!] The maddest he’s ever been at anyone in his life was when Jeremy told him that yeah, he killed Bunko, and was so blasé about it that it made Jun want to try out those Judo moves they’d learned in PE at school. And even before Jun found out, there was just something about Jeremy that Jun absolutely hated. [ENDSPOILER!]
Jun often contradicts himself, too. For instance, he claims that he hates clingy girls and cannot stand them, but he doesn’t mind hanging around Usachan, and she’s really clingy.
MANNERISMS
- ★
PECULIARITIES
- ★
BIGGEST REGRET
- ★ [SPOILER!] The biggest regret of Jun's life would probably be allowing Bunko to die when he first met Incertus. The entire ordeal wasn’t his fault, but he can’t shake the feeling that it was; if she hadn’t been with him that night, she might still be alive now. Bunko was the only person in his life, besides his family, that he cared about most. Not in a romantically inclined way, but more of a brother and sister, best friend kind of way. Being forced into Incertus only reminds him of what happened that night, seeing as they were the ones who offed her, so he can’t and won’t ever forgive them. [ENDSPOILER!]
MINOR REGRETS
- ★ The incident that happened in the ninth grade that has made him infamous at his high school. It was a small thing, really, but rumors started and thing were blown so much out of proportion that it would be foolish to try and deny everything. And even though it happened two years ago and Jun's classmates are a bit more down-to-earth than the stereotypical high school students on the television, he still gets the occasional stare or whisper behind his back.
BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT
- ★
MINOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

DARKEST SECRET

WORST PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTIC; WHY
- ★ His eyes. Jun hates his eyes—they’ve been weak since before he could remember, and without his glasses he’s as blind as a bat. The best he can see without his glasses is vague, blurry shadows, so he gets pissed off whenever he breaks or loses them. If he goes a long time without them, his eyes will get irritated and give him a headache which only serves to put him in even more of a foul mood.

- ★ xx INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER PEOPLE
- HOW DO THEY RELATE TO OTHERS
- ★ To his family, Jun relates the most to. Maybe because they're related, or because they've know him the longest out of everyone, he doesn't know. He does, however, know just what buttons to press to piss off his younger sister and which to press to get on his older sister's good side and which to press to get spending money out of his mom. He doesn't even register his father as part of his family anymore.
To his friends, it's more of a toleration. With Usachan, who he's know pretty much since he first got out of diapers, it more of a brother-sister relationship, where they can just be around each other and understand what they're feeling. with Kaz, Jun puts up with him because he understands that Kaz isn't one of those guys whose sole existence is meant to just annoy other people and just be a general nuisance; Kaz can be insightful at times, and he does have his smart moments. Sometimes.
To his classmates, it's a polite indifference. He puts up with them because he goes to a public high school and he doesnt have much of a choice, and the people who actually know what he's like confront him when they need to; it's an unspoken mutual agreement that Jun's happy to abide by.
[SPOILER!] To Incertus, it's simply, irrefutable hatred. A very similar, almost identical situation would be like mixing water and oil; it just doesn't work. After everything they put him through, murdering his best friend and kidnapping him, they claim that he belongs to them? Jun Hagane is no one's property, thank you. And he'd be damned if didn't remind them of that every day, in any possible way he could. [ENDSPOLIER!]
FRIENDS
- ★ Kazuhito "Kaz" Yamazuki
An idiot Jun has been in the same class with since he entered high school. And oh, is he an idiot—Kaz is loud and obnoxious and generally all-around annoying, but he wont take offense when Jun tells him so, and laughs it off and keeps being annoying. If it was anyone else, Jun would shun them like no tomorrow, but he doesn't mind so much because it's Kaz.
Bunko "Usachan" Maruyama
Usachan and Jun have know each other since kindergarten, but they only started being good friends in the seventh grade. She's a nice change of pace from his classmates who scowl at his verbal jabs, as she'll laugh and form her own opinion of things based off of what he says. Like Jun, she isn't afraid of having an opinion, she just wont openly express it.
WIFE/ HUSBAND/ LOVER
- ★ Bunko used to like to pretend that they were married, and jokingly called Jun her 'hazubando' and made Jun call her his 'waifu'. It wasn't even when they were kids—it was a year ago.
ARE THEY THE HERO/ HEROINE
- ★ Hero Antihero, if anything.
HOW DO THEY VIEW THE HERO/ HEROINE
- ★ In terms of viewing himself as a hero, Jun finds it troublesome at most. As he grew up with his nose in comic books, he knows what a hero is supposed to be like; strong, confident, determined, the man who gets everything he wants and if he cant, he finds a way to do it anyway. Jun knows that and he knows that he isn't that. Put plainly, it annoys the hell out of him. So him being called a hero definitely irks him.
FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE CHARACTER; WHY
- ★ At first glance, one would assume Jun to be the stereotypical geek behind coke-bottle glasses (which they are, Jun just refuses to admit it). He's rarely late to school, and his uniform is usually worn correctly. He participates in class if and when he knows what's going on, because he studies constantly to keep his mind off of things he doesn't like to dwell on.
DOES ANYTHING HAPPEN TO CHANGE THIS PERCEPTION
- ★ Once anyone spends five minutes around Jun, their impression of his is shot down and trampled over. With soccer cleats. They realize that Jun simply does not give a damn and will not hesitate to tell you so. He's easy to talk to, and he can handle carrying on a simple conversation. He likes to debate over the silliest things, like who would win if Big Bang and SHINee got into a street brawl. When he doesn't know what's going on in class, he's perfected a way of sitting up while you sleep to make it look as if you're absorbed in your work and teachers wont bother you. He gets in constant bad moods and tends to take his anger out on innocent shrubbery and by glaring incessantly at blank walls. He also refuses to take anything seriously, as his manta is "Nothing is permanent".
WHAT DO PEOPLE LIKE MOST ABOUT THIS CHARACTER
- ★ The fact that Jun is Jun and no one else; that is to say, Jun will act how he wants to act, say what he wants to say, and generally not give a damn if he's hurting someone's feelings or not. He isn't one to sugarcoat things, so anyone asks him a question, they'd better expect to get the the harsh truth and nothing less.
WHAT DO PEOPLE DISLIKE MOST ABOUT THIS CHARACTER
- ★ The fact that Jun does not sugarcoat anything. Also the distinct possibility (which is more of a 'will he do it again?' kind of thing. He won't, by the way) that he's gay.

- ★ xx PROBLEMS/ CRISIS
- HOW DO THEY REACT IN A CRISIS
- ★ It depends greatly on the type of crisis, really. Small crisis’ don’t seem to faze Jun much, seeing as they’re usually a matter of him losing something, and the simplest way to solve those is to retrace his steps. It usually works, if Riko ‘borrows’ something of his and forgets to tell him she did or keeps it for months and Jun forgets he let her borrow it.
Bigger crisis’, however, are an entirely different story. When faced with a major crisis, moreso over a major personal crisis, Jun will chimb up in his shell and refuse to come out for a long time. That is to say, he deals with them in a bad way. He’ll refuse to speak about it, and if a conversation appears as though it would take a turn in that direction, he’ll stop talking to that person. He’ll think about it for weeks and weeks, and randomly snap and have terrible mood swings. [SPOILER!] When the Advisor burned his house down, Jun just sort of… shut down. Instead of being focused and attentive in enemy territory, he just stopped caring. At night, he had nightmare of his sister and his mother screaming in the fire and it just abruptly turning into silence as they died. He claims that it was by far the worst noise he’d ever heard and ever will hear in his life. [ENDSPOILER!]
