••► Cold and rude a good 90% of the time, Frank Archer cares deeply about his country, and more important--ruling it. Through the series he serves as an antagonist, his jealousy of Roy Mustang often causing him to do rather ridiculous things and change his mind more times than the average person. He loves war, and desires to rule Amestris. This goal is one passed through the Archer family for years, ever since the founder; Alexander-Holt. The Archers all have a tendency to look alike, often mistaking son for father, and vice-versa.

••► Kimbley's explosive alchemy isn't a reflection of his personality. Instead, he's very removed from the world as a whole, prefering to watch the outcome of things rather than bother with things such as empathy. He doesn't care about much, but he does like causing explosions--which caused him to betray Greed and aid Archer's quest for the throne.

••► 'Flamboyant' doesn't even come close. Alexander-Holt is bold and outgoing, rude and selfish; but despite all his flaws he does always put his best foot forward. He's of Drachman descent, with his mother being native Amestrian. He's incredibly close to his son, who is in truth the founder of the Archer line as it is known currently. Alexander-Holt despises Richard, who certainly seems to like him as more than just a friend.

••► The ideal Archer, Hollis is cold and refined, refusing to show any emotion other than necessary. He's an excellent fighter, and an even better alchemist. He never made it to Fuhrer, but imprinted the goal into the rest of the Archer line. His friend Red might just be more than a friend, but Hollis denies any relationship with the man other than purely professional.

••► The first deviation from the Archer line, Reginald wasn't interested in ruling, but rather in bettering the country. The Ishbal War was breaking out, and he wanted to keep the peace. His friend who thought similarly, Rhoy Mustang, ended up becoming more than a friend somewhere along the way, but was killed far too soon. Reginald distanced himself from his family afterwards, unable to cope with the grief properly. He eventually died in the Ishbal War.

••► The first Archer to finally become Fuhrer, Lawrence is easily pressured into doing whatever others want. More of a figurehead than an actual ruler, Lawrence listens closely to his father, and is the 'golden boy' of the Archer family. He cares deeply about his son Ian (who is a hemophiliac) and would do anything to help him. There is a darker side to Lawrence though, and it often appears when he's ruling.
