History: Amazingly one of the times Reborn shot him with the Dying Will bullet, he actually made it to Kyoko and managed to tell her that he loved her. It wasn't instant, but she seemed receptive, which was more then he thought possible, and they started dating. When he finally decided he needed to propose, Reborn threatened to make him do it in his underwear if he didn't get the courage to talk to her, so he did that all on his own. Around that time he took the mantle of Neo Primo Vongola, which was just another way of tricking him into the Mafia, making it sound better. Determined to make the Vongola like his ancestor had wanted it, he worked hard as the boss, though he never moved from Japan, though Vongola in Italy are far from unprotected. He's happy, being married to the girl he's loved since middle school, and he wants to be the kind of man the Primo was, looking out for those that are weaker, and protecting them.

p a s tasl i f e 宿 Perhaps it's the influence of Shikyougan, perhaps it was just the semblance of character, but it's nearly impossible to distinguish Hiro and Emthatt. Hiro's once long, dark hair as even gone silver since the merging took place.
s k i l l s 宿 He can use a sword and various tools as weapons if he needs too, but he tends to rely on his powers.
g i f t s 宿 As a Celestial warrior of Genbu, Hikitsu has the ability to manipulate water, as well as Shikyougan, and it allows him to see a number of things such as someone's inner most hopes and dreams and fears are. When someone looks into his eye, they can relive memories, even ones that they have forgotten. Using his water manipulation doesn't really make him tired, but using his Shikyougan will tired him quickly, and in order for it not to go off randomly he must keep his eye covered at all times, restricting his field of vision, making it hard for him to use normal weapons in combat accurately.

p r e s e n tasl i f e 宿 Hiro Matsuda, age 19. Sheep herder from outer Nerima-ku, his family has a house that's nearly at the border, so wild animals are a problem with protecting the sheep. He recently graduated from High School, but wasn't talented enough to moved closer to the center of the city and attend one of the few universities there, so he started working the herd with his mother and father. He has a younger sister who's very bright, so he'd hoping to make the family enough money so they can afford to send her to a good school, maybe even within Tenchi district. He worked for his family, though secretly he wished there was something extraordinary about him, so he would see more then just the green pastures of Genbu District.

When he found himself marked, he accidentally forced his mother into a memory when she looked him in the eyes, and he immediately started wrapping his face in bandages so that wouldn't happen again. The memories of Hikitsu started to flood him then, and he welcomed it... this warrior was destined to do amazing things, and he willing gave of his body so he might share in what this adventure might be. After a few days, Hikitsu was completely in control, and Hiro's long, dark hair had even turned white. He left his family then to look for the Priestess of Genbu.

p a s tasl i f e 宿 Tokaki and Ryu are like the same person, though it's more like Ryu is too mousy to not let the rather big personality of Ranva to overtake him. He was chosen for his looks anyway, being a dead ringer for the warrior spirit, and the fact that the guy was a push over was just a plus.
s k i l l s 宿 Tokaki is a master of martial arts and trained the original Tamahome. He uses his large, hoop earrings as weapons with great accuracy. He also has a knowledge of pressure points.
g i f t s 宿 As Tokaki, he has the power of Teleportation. He can instantly move from one place to another. He can't go very far, the ending destination must be in direct eyesight, and using it too often in a row can fatigue him. It's useful mostly for fighting, to gain and advantage, or to try and help in a quick get away. He can also get through transparent surfaces, like chain link or glass, just so long as he can see where he's going to end up.

        a p p e a r a n c e 宿 Tokaki
        p e r s o n a l i t y 宿 Friendly, Lecherous, Brash, Honest, Sincere and Frank.
p r e s e n tasl i f e 宿 Ryu Honda, age 21, he attended highschool, then a trade college to learn skills that would give him the upper hand in his father's business, which was trading incidently, his family had close ties to one of the independent cities in the Hokkaido region, and they trading things like oil, furs and leather, as well as ore for the food crops that came out of Tokyo. He was rather wealthy, but his father was a very stern sort of man, causing Ryu to grow up shy and mousy. He was already afraid of confrontation, so when he was chosen to house the spirit of the Byakko Warrior Tokaki, the loud and rather obnoxious warrior was easily able to wrestle the upper hand. He guessed it was also advantageous that he looked like the old warrior.

Surprisingly enough, Ryu's on again, off again girl friend, a school teach from the area, was housing another of the warriors, so when he wasn't running after some random cute girl, he was running after her. Ryu has basically been completely repressed by Tokaki, not because of anything the warrior did, just because the young man didn't want to fight for the body, and the confident, frank, and friendly guy had way more to contribute then a wallflower. For the moment Tokaki has been going through the motions of helping to run the trade business, while staying in touch with Subaru (who he still loves very deeply, even if he terrible as showing it) and looking for the Priestess of Byakko.

p a s tasl i f e 宿 Niko has vague memories and dreams about something weird happening in Ancient China, but for the most part he remains in control of himself. He has manifested powers, but the original spirit doesn't seem to wish to live through him again, but rather just give him the power he needs to do his job.
s k i l l s 宿 Niko took judo when he was younger, so he can defend himself, though he's not much of a hand to hand fighter. He is more about maintaining distance and running away. He's rather fast.
g i f t s 宿 Koki has the ability to summon undead. He can call skeletons from the ground and also return undead to it (whether he conjured them, or someone else). He can manipulate dead bodies at various stages of decay, though skeletons are the most 'pleasant' to deal with so he sticks to those. He can only control three animated corpses at a time, and he controls them with lines of ki that extend from his fingertips, much like a puppeteer. If the ki is interrupted, or his powers stopped, then the control ends and the bodies will drop. He has mild control over the earth, mostly in moving it enough to dig something up, or replace it in the grounds. The farther away he is from a cemetery/battle area where there would be bodies, the longer it takes for the corpses to reach him to help. Using his ability will fatigue him quickly, and if he tries to push the power to summon more, or keep them longer then he should, he runs the risk of passing out completely.

p r e s e n tasl i f e 宿 Niko Arai, age 15, is the only child to an antiquities dealer in Byakko District. He has no idea who his father is, but his mother did tell him that he was European, making Niko only half Japanese. His mother is away in neighboring cities a lot, so he fends for himself, and he's grown up around old things, making him a rather dark person. He dresses in a goth style, doesn't sleep much between staying up at night and going to school during the day, if the dark circles under his eyes are any indication. He is rather solitary, though he has a few friends here and there. He's very fond of his teachers at school, and despite the fact it doesn't seem he would, he gets very good grades, especially in social sciences and history. Since his mom is gone a lot, she insisted he learn martial arts to protect himself when he's alone in their house full of antiques, and he does go to practice twice a week to maintain that, but he doesn't train in fighting, nor does he have aspirations to be a fighter... he'd rather just get away. He likes track, but doesn't compete... he doesn't really compete in anything. Apparently he's rather popular with the girls because of his exotic looks and 'bad boy' persona, but he doesn't really pay much attention to things like that.

When the mark showed up on his stomach, just above his waist, he had no idea what to make of it, but the visions and dreams he ended up with were fascinating. He knew he was supposed to find, and protect, a girl, with other 'warriors' but he wasn't really sure what that meant. When a group of gang kids decided to mess with him the next day and take his money for the week, they were all surprised when a trio of skeletons, brandishing katanas, showed up to chase them away, only to sink back into the ground. He understood what happened from the memories that floated to the surface, enough to teach him, but not tell him more about why he was chosen for these powers. He has been going into unpopulated areas outside the protection of the districts to practice however, since there were more bodies out there, then the city proper.

p a s tasl i f e 宿 Hotohori wouldn't hear of being in any body that wasn't perfect for, so he found the most beautiful man in the city that resembled him the most and he promptly took that body. He was probably the first Suzaku warrior to make the transfer, staking his claim because he wanted nothing but the best for himself (even if his current body isn't quite sexy enough, there wasn't much he could do.) He's completely integrated with his host, a rather narcissistic man in his own right, but after learning the truth behind Hotohori, and all the pain he's been forced to bear, the two began to work as one, and the ex-Emperor is in control
s k i l l s 宿 Extremely proficient in kendo and most sword arts, well spoken, educated and cultured. Also highly skilled in hand to hand combat and riding a horse.
g i f t s 宿 As the Suzaku warrior, Hotohori, he can channel ki into his sword to add power to his swings, and as an added bonus it usually will make his strikes faster as well. In times of emotional stress or duress he can summon a visible field of ki, which burns bright red, and all these attributes are intensified, but he can only maintain it as long as the stress remains. Normally this comes on only when someone he loves is threatened. In life and death situations, he can even deflect matter with his ki alone (even water when his Priestess is drowning and there is no time to save her) however this make his extremely tired afterward.

p r e s e n tasl i f e 宿 Kyoya Suzushima, age 18, was a guy that was full of himself, knowing he was hot, and using it to get out of work, to get money, and all sorts of things. Living in the farming community was the worst for him, and he ofter left to Byakko district to pick up girls, thieve, or anything other sorts of things a pretty boy could get away with. One night, after watching coverage of an explosion in Tenchi district, he was taken over by Hotohori, and he started having visions of the spirit's life.

It affected him greatly, the profound feelings he had were the same lonely ones Kyoya had, only Hotohori hadn't come out nasty and cynical at all. In his first, unselfish act, he let Hotohori merge with him completely, and there is little question which personality has the most control. His family was surprised, and happy with the turn around, though a bit puzzled as to why he went and had extensions put in his hair so it was as long as a girls, but they didn't say too much about it because he was now staying home and taking the family much more seriously. He watched out of his 'new' brothers and sisters, as well as keeping an eye out for the Priestess of Suzaku. He knew that, he would always love Houki and Miaka both, but he felt that this could be a fresh start for him... now a commoner, charged to protect a new priestess... it was exciting!

The spitting image of Tamahome, or rather, Taka, the spirit of Tamahome felt drawn to him, and the teenager did not resist, knowing that this was important, and he welcomed his ancestor completely, making the merger complete and Tamahome live again.
s k i l l s 宿 Tamahome is a master of martial arts, and his descendent isn't much of a slouch in the sports arena either, playing high school basketball.
g i f t s 宿 Tamahome can manipulate ki to make his hits and kicks stronger, which ultimately culminates in a Ki Blast from the palm of his hand. He can only manifest it when he's under great emotional or physical stress, and his emotions are heightened.

p r e s e n tasl i f e 宿 Hikaru Sukunami, age, 16, grew up on the old, family stories, bedtime fairy tales about Chinese story books, and girls falling into them. Usually the female members of the family were the most enamored with the tales, the drama, the cute boys, and the supposed epic love story of their ancestors from over two hundred years ago... it had to be made up, what sort of couple started as a normal girl falling into a book, then falling in love with the first character she saw from that book, only to eventually give up her selfish ways to save others, and be given this warrior as her reward, reincarnated into this world? He always thought it was a strange story, but he loved it, and he felt really connected to the great... however many great, grandfather, Tamahome... or Taka Sukunami, as was written in the family lineage. They had a handful of things, old mementos in a curio cabinet that they weren't allowed to touch because the artifacts had been through the War, they were old and fragile. One, was of seven men and one girl, one of them men, one of the ones in the front row, closest to the girl in a school uniform, looked so much like Hikaru it was hard to ignore the story as fiction. Because of that impression, left when he was small, he worked to be a good person, fight for people that couldn't fight for themselves, and he got good marks in school, even if he had to try really hard. Math never seemed to be a problem for him though. He played basketball, since supposedly this ancestor had been a couch... which seemed rather strange, but he didn't question it.

Imagine his surprise when, one day he was brushing his teeth and he looked into the mirror to see a blazing red ogre symbol on his forehead. During the next few hours, he relived everything Tamahome had been through, learning about Taka and Miaka, and he understood the gravity of what was happening... he accepted the spirit with no hesitation, though instead of wearing his mark proudly, being in a different world, he wears a baseball cap, or headband now... thinking that a mark such as that would probably freak the other high schoolers out. Tamahome is the most well adjusted spirit, having already lived a lifetime outside of the book. Perhaps after this life, he could pass away into wherever Miaka was, instead of returning to the book... but he isn't in a hurry to die either, especially not in his descendent's body... he is committed to protecting his family, even if they didn't know who he really was.

Tetsuya recognizes that Amiboshi can more readily protect his family, and he does not interfere with the warrior, in fact he believes he is a gift from god because of a prayer he made to get the power he needed to protect people.
s k i l l s 宿 Tetsuya and Amiboshi both are musicians, which is why Amiboshi chose him in the first place, and he uses his powers to fight exclusively.
g i f t s 宿 Amiboshi can manipulate ki using sound waves produced on his flute. It's power is limited to those within ear shot, and those that can hear, someone who can not hear the sound waves would be immune completely. The waves can also be tampered with by certain wavelengths can cancelled out, and the power can only be produced when he's using a flute, though he's attempting to duplicate it on other wind instruments with little to no success. He can manipulate the effects of what the ki does, from a soothing, calming effect, all the way to a pleasant sleep, as well as being able to cause pain, confusion and eventually death.

p r e s e n tasl i f e 宿 Tetsuya Ando, Age 17, grew up with two younger brothers and both his parents worked for a small fishing company, taking their personal boat out every day to get fish for both the family to eat, and to sell at market. On his thirteenth birthday, Yakuza thugs from their nearby base came in and took the boat, the only way the family could make any money, and killed their parents in the theft. Unable to fight back, Tetsuya managed to get his two siblings out, and went to the fishing company's boss' house to get help. The kind, older man took them in, the oldest quitting school to work as a fisherman in exchange for his two younger brothers being allowed to continue learning, and to help supplement the older man caring for them. A few weeks after the attack, Jin Ando, his adopted father, gave him a flute as a belated birthday gift, and it started his love of music. Any extra money he ever had was on buying new instruments or music of them.

The fact he was so powerless against the Yakuza, and a nearly identical match for Amiboshi, made him the perfect host for the warrior spirit. When he was marked, and the story of the other flute player was laid out in front of him, he realized that they were not that different at all, and he welcomed him, not disappearing, but the two merged into one being, both existing at the same time. Amiboshi did promise that, when the time was right, he would take revenge on the people that hurt Tetsuya's parents, since he had the power that his host did not, and in return, he would offer his knowledge of other musical instruments so Amiboshi could possibly not be restricted to a flute alone to trigger his sound wave powers.

His mother put him in kendo to try and teach him discipline, but only succeeded in teaching him how to be good with a sword and terrorize people more. He ended up getting his father kicked out of office, and in his shame, the man took his own life (or did he?) and Kurochi took all the money for himself, leaving his mother to fend for herself and run home to her parents in Suzaku District.

He dropped his legal name (Tetsuya Yamamoto, how boring is that?) and named himself Kurochi Kumori, started his own Yakuza troop in Tenchi district and was making a killing selling girls and drugs to the Tokyo elite. When Yami got him involved, promising him even more power, and more weapons to terrorize people with, he jumped at the chance... killing people was fun, and he never got to do it in the name of a 'god' so who was he to complain?

So, it was the first day of the New Year... Tokaki, warrior of Byakko, thought it was best to go 'home' so to speak as the first thing he did. Ryu Honda had a girlfriend, a very cute girlfriend in fact, but even more importantly, she was Subaru of the Byakko Seven. Once upon a time the two had been married, for a very long time, even though his philandering and carousing often got him kicked out of the house for long periods of time. He'd been out the night before, flirting and drinking with the underbelly of Byakko District, taking a break from their Celestial Duty... he didn't remember everything he did, in fact he'd woken up in a hotel bath tub, but his pants were on so that was a good sign!

The thing was, he was a bad husband most of the time, but he really did love Subaru, and he'd managed not to have sex with random women, even though flirting and stuff happened a lot, his host had an adverse reaction when he got past more the kissing with a woman that wasn't 'theirs' so he'd given up on randomly sleeping with women, even though he did still partake in all sorts of chasing and bad behavior. He always felt guilty after things went too far anyway, so he just decided to refrain from that one thing... besides Subaru was close and with the Priestess somewhere in this damn district, he couldn't really go traveling around outside it... though he had made a couple treks into the nearby Suzaku farms to see if he could find Tamahome. He was well aware that each spirit reacted differently with each host, so it was possible that his old student wouldn't even know him if they did meet up, but he wanted to see for himself.

He whistled a happy tune he'd heard in the bar the night before as he walked toward Naomi's house, his keys spinning around his finger to keep his hands busy. There weren't a whole lot of people around, even though it was New Years, and it was pretty early... most of the people he did see probably hadn't been asleep for twenty four hours. He was still trying to get used to the fact New Year's wasn't on the real New Years, but he wasn't going to worry about it too much, this world they'd been pushed into was strange...

Tokaki wondered how much different this world was then the one Suzano had come from. It was a long time ago, he guessed, though it wasn't like he could go find old records to see exactly how many years had gone by. It was exciting though, being in the world where the priestesses resided... having a youthful body again, not an old man, or a spirit... or whatever he was in the book. Had he been reincarnated? He didn't remember... his time as a warrior was sharp in his mind, and to be honest he didn't want to think on any other time. He was together with Subaru, and he was alive, what else mattered?

Well, the Priestess did, but their new one had yet to show herself... the two of them had been lucky enough to settle in a pair that were already together, so they didn't have to find each other, but the other warriors, and their Miko... they'd been looking and still nothing. He didn't know how they were supposed to protect the girl if they couldn't find her! Maybe the priestesses didn't even know what they were? It wasn't like they were in their world, ruled by their rules... things were different here, which was both a good thing, and a bad.

He made it to Subaru's front door and he unlocked the knob, slipping in and removing his shoes before he stepped into the house proper. He didn't see any evidence that his wife/girlfriend... whatever she was (soulmate perhaps?) was up, so he quietly made his way toward her bedroom. She'd probably witnessed the changing of the year, but gone to bed right after... she was always so sensible, even when she was on vacation. Well, he'd give her a surprise, the first one of the year!

He sneaked into the bedroom and saw a lump covered by blankets in the center of the bed and he smiled a little, slipping up to the side and onto the bed, hugging her close, her back to his front, his hand slipping to her waist. Being the pervert he was, he couldn't help himself when his other hand brushed against the curve of her bottom, even if it would more then likely earn him a smack, she was just so perfect and soft. He nuzzled her shoulder and kissed her shoulder, waiting for her to wake up enough to realize he was even there. He whispered "Subaru," in her ear lightly, smiling a little as he did it... had he been completely sober, he might have rethought the fact that this was a good idea.

A brunette young man sat on his bed, a hair brush in one hand, his long hair gathered over his shoulder as he gently pulled the knots out. Hotohori, now inhabiting the body of Kyoya Suzushima, still felt a bit out of it. It happened sometimes, where the merging of souls he had with Kyoya didn't synch quite right, and he found himself confused by something, or unsure of something because he was thinking wholly as Saiheitei, the sheltered Emperor of Konan that died very young. He sat there, staring at the mirror that hung across the room, brushing his hair in a soothing action that calmed him a bit. The New Year wasn't on the right day, even if his body's memories told him that it was normal, and he should celebrate as was proper, it felt off and strange to him.

His life had been regimented, rigid, and he ended to be aloof and quiet, not because he was arrogant in that way (though he was a bit in other ways) but simply because he'd been raised with adults, and he reverted to a business like demeanor when he wasn't completely comfortable. Most of his life had been lonely, until the Priestess and her warriors, to which he was one of them, had come to his palace, causing everything to be exciting and he had friends. Now, this Kyoya had been a very not nice person, though with the gentle soul of Hotohori taking him over, his family had seen it as a reversal... his mother doted on him like he was a child, but she was so loving, he didn't mind. His family was wonderful, he didn't understand why Kyoya hadn't wanted to be surrounded by these people all the time.

Hotohori pulled the hairband from his wrist and bound his hair in a low ponytail, and he moved his head a bit, the mark of Star appeared on the left side of his neck as he stared at his reflection. He looked a lot like he had, when he was alive and in the book... though he guessed he'd been granted a second one now, and he was in the land of the Priestesses... which meant he wouldn't have to be separated from her... Tamahome had followed Miaka to this place, did that mean there would be only six of them? No, instinctively he knew Tamahome was somewhere, though his circumstances were probably a bit different then his own... His eyes were a bit wider in this body, and had no green at all, his lips were a bit fuller, but not by much. With his hair the proper color and style, he looked nearly identical to how he was supposed to...

"Dearest, are you getting ready? We'll be leaving for the temple soon. Do you need help with your kimono?"

"No Mother, thank you, I can manage. I'll be out presently."
He got up and pulled the box from the top shelf in his closet. Apparently it was a family tradition, one that Kyoya never wanted to take part in, so the dust was rather thick when he used a towel from the hamper to clean it up a bit. He opened the box, pulling out the red robes, the golden phoenix came up the back and over the left shoulder, the head ending right over his heart. He tied the gold belt and put his sandals on, then pulled a golden haori over his shoulders since it was rather chilly outside. He tucked his phone and wallet inside the folds of his robe and flicked his hair over his shoulder, taking one more look in the mirror to make sure nothing was out of place.

He walked down the streets with his family, his father didn't like the long hair, but even he was too happy to see their eldest son back that he didn't say anything. The younger teens chatted, but Hotohori stayed quiet. Even with the warm family, he didn't feel like they were his, because in reality they weren't... but he couldn't hurt them again, so he stayed in the home, and he played the part of Kyoya for them, though an improved version it seemed. He looked around the neighborhood as they walked, it wasn't far to the Temple, but it was far enough that his nose and fingers were cold by they time they arrived.

The Suzaku Warrior headed up the steps, a bit behind the rest of the family. They went to go visit the grounds, but he made a beeline for the main shrine to Suzaku. It seemed disrespectful for him not to go their first, and when he stepped into the area, he saw many people around, but a girl that had entered right before him caught his attention. Kyoya recognized her as Natsuki Akiyama, a girl that he'd been in grade school with, but Hotohori noticed her for a very different reason. The firebirds all over her lovely kimono were dwarfed by the beautyl of this girl... his hand moved to touch his neck as he felt some sort of pull to her... it was then that his eyes fell upon a strange bracelet on her wrist... one that nearly shined with the power of Suzaku.

His heart started to flutter quickly in his chest and he stood there, watching her. He wasn't sure exactly what he should stay to her, when he'd met the priestess before, he'd posed as a normal person in his own palace... but here he was just someone from her past called Kyoya... if she even remembered him from all that time ago... and how did he explain to her that he actually wasn't that boy she knew... that he was the old spirit of an Emperor from a world of magic... that he was destined to protect her... He decided to wait, to see what exactly she was going to do, since there was a determined cadence to her step.

Because of the New Year, everything had been extremely busy, and the partying had gone straight into the morning. He was exhausted, but he had family things he had to do, he'd catch a nap at some point before he went to work tonight. His adoptive father tried to do what he could, but things were bad for everyone, and he was grateful enough that Takehiko and Tendo could still attend school and were safe. Well, they were doubly safe because the light haired boy wasn't just a mousy musician anymore... he had power now, and he'd given up most of the control of his body to the ancient spirit of a warrior, Amiboshi, who was here to protect his people, and the priestess.

He stepped into the house and took his shoes off, going straight into the bathroom to take a quick, hot shower to get the alcohol smell off of him, to make himself presentable when they went to the shrine... and then to tend the grave of their parents. They did it twice a year, on his birthday, when they died, and on New Years day. Amiboshi still hadn't found his twin brother in this world, but Miboshi had taken Tetsuya's middle brother as his host, but he was behaving himself, and the kid was still about as normal as he could be. That was good, because he knew when it had first happened, his own host was worried and agitated because Amiboshi himself had been.

The warrior brushed his teeth and got everything clean, drying his hair so he wouldn't catch cold, then he put an old, gray kimono on and tied it closed with a simple, black belt, again it had been his adoptive father's old robe, but he didn't feel right if he didn't where tradition clothes to the shrine. Amiboshi had hard enough time trying to move around in the fashions of this time, it just seemed wrong to tend a grave in tight jeans and a thread bare flannel shirt. He left his blond hair messy, falling into his light eyes, but he was too tired to really deal with anything else right now.

First he went into Tendo's room, and he shook the 9 year old awake, telling him to get dressed, knowing that he'd probably take the longest, being the littlest, and he was right, it took at least several taps to the head to get him moving. Then he moved into Miboshi's room and stepped in, seeing the mess of dark hair under the covers. "Miboshi, we need to go to the Shrine for New Years day." He gently shook him, and when he stirred he left the room so he could get dressed.

He waited patiently for his little brothers to get changed and ready, putting a long coat over his kimono because he didn't really have a proper haori that fit, but he always spent extra money either on the kids, or on a new instrument, clothes weren't really important to him. He had his flute tucked into his sleeve, so he slipped it out and started playing a peppy tune, meant to be energizing, letting his ki flow into the music. His mark flared on his shoulder, but the light was obscured by the heavy cloth. Maybe that would get the two boys moving a bit more quickly.

Once everyone was ready, he moved them outside, locking the door behind them. Their little brother held onto Amiboshi's hand, even if he was getting bigger, he'd been really small when their parents had died, and he was rather attached to both he and Miboshi. There were people out and about, most looked like him, that they hadn't slept much the night before, but even in the slum areas in Seiryuu district everyone seemed to be in a good mode.

                                                                          "Are things well with you?"
He turned and looked at his little 'brother' who was, and wasn't that to him... he wasn't Suboshi, his twin, but in this body they were blood related, so he worried over him just as he would Suboshi... he wondered if his brother didn't even remember him, like Miboshi seemed to be more the boy and less the warrior he'd known... not that that was actually a bad thing, a lot of the Seiryuu warriors had been rather evil. He shuddered to think what Nakago was going to be like here... it was a rather terrifying thought... and to be honest he still wished he'd been born into the Suzaku seven... he hoped they all were well.

A soft sigh came out of a rather dark colored lump in the center of a silver colored tiled roof, a small... thing, was running and skittering across the slick tile with no heed to it's safety. Upon closer inspection, it was rather obviously why, the little creature was actually a skeleton, being held together by thin lines of white and silver light, which came from the hand of the dark figure that was sitting at the apex of the roof. Niko Arai, or rather Koki or Byakko now, had watched the sunrise with his mother, but being the busy, single mom she was, she'd only stayed long enough to make a wish on that first light, then she'd hurried away to get ready. Even on New Year's Day, there was money to be made.

Before he'd found this rather interesting power, he'd been a normal, rather morbid kid, dressing in black, leaving his wavy, thick, black hair long and shaggy, his light olive skin was rather exotic in Japan. His father was Italian, though he didn't even know what his name was, Niko had been a 'surprise' but the fact his first name was actually usually used as a surname, he had a feeling his father's name might have been something like that, but in Italian, and his mother had used something in Japanese that sounded similar. He didn't know for sure though, because she wouldn't talk about him much.

He was a loner, which meant his social skills weren't that great. On the outside he was moody, depressed and sarcastic, but if a person got to know him, they'd find a very caring and gentle person underneath. Then, one night he'd gotten into a fight, well he was trying to run away from the fight because he didn't want to actually hurt someone, when this mark showed up on his belly and three skeletons tore their way out of the ground around him and chased the bullies away.

He had some dreams, he could feel that there was... well someone else there, but he didn't seem to want to intrude. When he used the powers and activated the symbol, he could feel the presence more... but when he wasn't doing anything, there wasn't much of a change. He had a feeling this spirit that was with him was shy, and didn't want to come out, maybe because his life, and power, had been pretty sad and he didn't want to overpower a kid with that... Niko tried to get him to talk, with 'head conversations' he liked to call them, but he'd never respond with more then a few, disjointed pictures and sadness.

So, he'd come to take over the mantle of Koki, without much guidance he resorted to experimenting. He'd go out in the uninhabited areas where there were lots of old skeletons and practice on his own. a few times he'd lost consciousness completely, before he got a feeling for the limits of this power. Sometimes, he'd get a sense of encouragement if he was onto the right idea, but that was the limit to the spirits involvement, and he'd come to respect that. So now, he was supposed to find some priestess and keep her safe... he wasn't sure exactly what sort of girl he should have been looking for, and he hadn't run into any other warriors in the couple days since he got these powers, but then he'd been training a lot, so being by yourself, surrounded by dead people tended to put a wet blanket over making friends.

Niko put his hand down and the skeleton of the gerbil ran into it, sitting here like it was still alive, even though the moment he pulled the power back, the little think would just tumble into a pile of bones. He sighed a little and got up, moving toward the ladder and climbing down from the roof. Once he was on the ground, he put the gerbil down and waved, the ki strings retracting and the dirt at his feet literally pulled the bones back to their rest. He didn't have to return the skeleton, sometimes he didn't have time, but if he could, he always did. Sometimes if he came across someone who hadn't had a burial (it happened more then most would expect) he usually took the time to at least let the earth reclaim the bones. This seemed to give the spirit in him some peace, though he wasn't sure why... maybe he'd never gotten a proper burial? Part of him thought he might have done this for a living, before he traveled with the first priestess.

Koki dusted his hands off on his black jeans and buttoned up his dark, leather jacket, and he decided to go visit the shrine. He was tired of waiting to see if his mother would come back like she promised, more then likely he wouldn't see her until after he'd eaten dinner already, even if she was only 'supposed to be gone an hour, tops.' It never worked out that way, so he would just spend the rest of his New Years alone, doing some firsts and getting some take out sushi with his food money.

The young warrior started down the street, toward the shrine to Byakko, his hands stuck in his pockets. His brown eyes looked to each person he passed, wondering if he or she might be someone that he should know, but the other half of himself was quite, and he didn't feel anything weird... he wondered if he ever would... maybe he'd gotten a broken symbol or something? Maybe he was too young? He was starting High School in April... so he wasn't that young... he sighed again, well aware of the fact he was pouting, but he didn't care. He kicked a small pebble, sending it bouncing away. "Doesn't matter anyway," he muttered, blowing his thick bangs out of his dark eyes.
