"Never use a door when you can make one on your own,"

Katherine looked up just in time to see Bobby pulling himself up onto the branch next to herself, unfortunately missing the wave Kayla had directed at her because she had been so focused on her work. She quickly hit save then shut off the lap top, bringing her legs up onto the branch in front of her, her pointing up into the air. When she noticed the stain on her boyfriends shirt she frowned, "Morning sleepyhead," she said airily, deciding not to make a comment on the mess he had made of himself. Now that Bobby was with her she began feeling guilty about how she had been checking out Gabriel, she promised herself she would make it up to him though. Leaning back against the trunk of the tree she turned her head in her boyfriend's direction to give him her full attention. She desperately wanted to ask him if he had seen Rogue yet, just out of curiosity, but she didn't want to bring Rogue up just yet, especially since every time she had since they had been dating he hadn't seemed to appreciate her bitching about her.

"What's'a matter, you never seen a teen-age all-American ghost before?"

A light blush rose to Kitty's Pryde's cheeks when Bobby said good morning and she tucked a strand of loose brown hair behind her ear. Her smile widened when he took his shirt off and she cast an appreciative eye over his bare chest before meeting his gaze again. She carefully wiggled closer to him, putting a hand on his bare chest and trying to make it look like she needed to do so so she wouldn't fall, leaning closer to him she pecked his cheek lightly before resting her head on his shoulder. Being like this with Bobby made her forget about everything else, her inability to sleep, Gabriel, the two Brotherhood girls supposedly turned good, for now it was just her and her boyfriend. "Nothing much," she answered with a sigh, not wanting to bother him with her problems, "You?" she asked.

Kitty ran her finger around in circles on Bobby's naked chest; if felt so good to have someone holding her, to be able to be so close to someone she wasn't related to by blood. Touching Bobby made her think of Rogue, though she was trying very hard not to, and how she had never been able to be with her boyfriend like this, it upset Kitty, just a little, that Rogue might never be able to hold someone or be held. She pushed Rogue roughly from her thoughts then, angry at herself for thinking about her while being so close to Bobby. When Bobby spoke again Kitty gave him her full and undivided attention, expecting he would be doing the same for her. When he paused her breath caught and for those few, agonizing seconds she had thought he was going to say he loved her. When he only admitted he "really liked her" her heart sank. She had never really thought about what it would have been like to be loved by a guy like Bobby until that moment, she had always considered him "just a boyfriend" but the idea of having him love her had run havoc in her mind and now she couldn't think of anything but the two of them growing old together, cause she loved him too, right? But he didn't love her, or at least was too shy to admit it. She hid her disappointment as well as she could as she answered his probing question. "I just still haven't been sleeping," she told him simply, not wanting to go into any further details.

Kitty just stood where she was as Azreal and Logan conversed with her boyfriend, not knowing what to say or do. When Bobby handed her the plate she blinked; coming back to herself. Thankfully Azreal's attempts to speak to Bobby chipped some of the ice of the quickly growing tension in the room and Bobby's joking replies had brought a smile back to her face, a small one, but a smile none the less. Her boyfriend's remarks about breadsticks made her smile widen and her mood improve just that little bit more. But when Logan spoke and mentioned her private battle with the Juggernaut the smile vanished and she looked down at her feet, fighting back tears that she had no right to shed. Finally she sighed inwardly when Rogue, Azreal and Logan left. Moving to sit on the stool next to Bobby, she put her plate down on the table in front of her and stared down at the plate, no longer in the mood to eat. Kitty just couldn't believe that Logan had said those things to Bobby; but then again it was Logan, protecting Rogue as always the best way he knew how. Katherine desperately wanted to say something to Bobby, she just didn't know what she could say to make things better. So instead she just stared down at her plate.

Katherine nodded solemnly to Bobby's suggestion that they retire to the living room, too scared that she might burst into tears if she had tried to answer him with words. Kitty hated people seeing her lose control and break down, it made her feel weak and pathetic. Bobby's cold hand around her's felt reassuring and for once she was glad it was so cold. Sliding the stool back and keeping hold of her boyfriend's hand she stood up, only now realising that they hadn't been alone in the kitchen. She appreciated Bobby's suggestion even more now that she saw whom had joined them, if there was one person in the world she did not want to cry infront of it was Kayla.

Kitty Pryde sat down on the couch next to Bobby, glad for some alone time with him. Despite her mood she couldn't help but smirk when he asked why she looked so blue. "You're one to talk, bright-eyes," she laughed quietly, lifting a hand to his cheek and looking into the bright blue eyes that she had fallen in love with and marvelling at how he had managed to make her laugh even though she hadn't wanted to smile. Maybe Bobby really was the right guy for her. Kitty started feeling guilty then, what right did she have to get upset when Bobby was the one who needed her to comfort him? Surely what had just transpired hadn't just gotten her all worked up, surely it had effected him too. But there he was, holding her and trying to make her feel better even though he was the one who deserved her sympathy, not the other way around.

Friends are siblings that God forgot to give us.

'Oh. My. God!' Melanie's mind squealed when the hottest waiter she had ever seen approached their table. Melly had to press her lips together in a firm line to keep herself from laughing out loud when he tried to flirt with her best friend. She could have kicked Gabby under the table for saying flirting would do much good, just because she was homosexual and didn't "go for guys" didn't mean Mel wouldn't have enjoyed being flirted with, jeez! But Melanie Bates restrained herself, she didn't want to hurt her best friend when she had been so nice as to offer to pay. Promising to slip a few notes into her best friend's purse later she cast her eyes down the menu. "I'll have a pineapple smoothie and a chicken caesar salad, please," she told the attractive waiter before handing the menu over to him. Mel couldn't help but smile as he did a little bow in her direction then in Gabby's before walking off.

Melanie turned her attention back to her best friend then, "So..." she sounded, trying to think of something they could talk about. She would have gone on about how cute that waiter had been but she felt a little uncomfortable doing that when Gabby couldn't fully appreciate the hotness of him, due to her homosexuality.

ShadowCat would have smiled at the way Bobby had seemed to read her thoughts and the use of her only nickname that had nothing to do with cats if she had been feeling any other way. She was so glad all the younger mutants were in class now, they did not need to see the youngest X-Men reduced to tears. Kitty raised her free hand up to her eyes and attempted to swat away the tears. When Bobby asked her why she was crying she pressed her lips together in a firm line and shook her head, chocolate brown hair flying everywhere. Though she really wanted to talk to someone and could think of no one better to do that with then her boyfriend she was too scared to open her mouth, afraid of what would come out if she allowed herself to start speaking. She didn't even know exactly what had upset her, was it Logan's comments about her beating The Juggernaut to Leech? Was it Rogue's reappearence? Could it have been Logan's harsh words to her boyfriend which she had done nothing to prevent? Or was it something else entirely?

Kitty didn't want to talk about it but that didn't mean she didn't want to be comforted anyway, so, kicking off her shoes and pulling her feet up onto the couch she swivelled on the couch and draped her legs over Bobby's lap so her feet were on his other side and her knees were pointed at the roof. Then she wiggled closer to him and lay her head on his bare chest. This was a bold move and she knew it, Bobby and her and only just started to really act like a couple and maybe he wasn't comfortable being in such a compromising position with her yet, but Kitty really hoped he was, cause all she wanted to do was snuggle up with her boyfriend and have a good cry.

"I'm not afraid of crying in front of you, Bobby," Kitty assured him, taking her head of his chest to look up at him. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, if Bobby was being nice enough to comfort her then he deserved to know what was upsetting her. "When we were back at Alcratraz," she started, opening her eyes and looking into his as she spoke, "When I was...I was trying to find Jimmy...I didn't think I was going to make it..." she stammered, salty tears spilling over from her eyes and running down her cheeks. "I though The Juggernaut was going to get there first...I've had dreams...Where I've been trying to protect Jimmy, and then he's killed me because I couldn't phase away," Kitty explained between choked sobs, when her voice broke on the last word she couldn't go on and she lay her head back on Bobby's chest, her small frame trembling in his arms and tears staining her cheeks.

"What's'a matter, you never seen a teen-age all-American ghost before?"

"Never use a door when you can make one on your own,"

When Kitty nodded again it was accompanied by a small whimpering noise. How could she have gotten so lucky? Not only had she found a guy that accepted her for being a mutant - and actually was one himself - but she had found was what surely the only guy in history who was actually listening to his girlfriend. Bobby was really listening to her, not just paying attention because he knew he'd get into trouble for it later if he didn't, but listening because he wanted to help her. Kitty moved her arms around his neck and her lips next to his ear, "Thank you, Bobby," she breathed. She had hoped those words would say enough by themselves but even as she closed her mouth she knew there was something missing, something that needed to be said. Shifting everso slightly in his arms she brought her lips back to his ear, "I love you," she whispered.

For the first time in her sixteen years Kitty finally felt whole, like the spot left in her heart reserved for someone like Bobby had finally been filled. Sure Kitty had had other boyfriends; Lance, Peter; and she had loved them, but this was different. While she had only loved them she was in love with Bobby. Not alot of girls her age could say that and truley mean it. It didn't even matter to Kitty whether he felt the same way...well, actually it did, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if he didn't say it back, just as long as he knew how she felt...well that was good enough for her...for the time being anyway.

Maybe it had just been Kitty's crazy teenage hormones taking over when she was most vunerable, or maybe she really did feel that way about Bobby. Then he kissed her, and her mind went completely blank. She pulled back first, not because she had really wanted to, but because the position they were in was a far from comfortable kissing position. Her cheeks were stained a soft pink and she turned her head down, hoping to hide it from his view. When her eyes lifted back up to meet his gaze she gaze him as small, bashful smile. Although he hadn't exactly said that he loved her too a little voice in her head whispered that his kissing her had been his own way of saying that the feeling was neutral. Kitty's heart seemed to swell just a little bit inside her chest, making room for the new waves of love she felt for her boyfriend.

Kitty felt as light as air, which was actually pretty ironic since she could actually walk on the stuff. Those three little words had turned her mood totally upside-down and she had gone from a scared, crying child, to a happy, bouncy woman. Or so she thought. She wondered it Juliet had felt this way when she first realised she was in love with Romeo, suddenly Shakespeare's most fampus play was taking on a whole knew meaning and Kitty felt like she had never really understood the play, until now. She felt like dancing, she felt like singing, she felt like screaming at the top of her lungs that she was in love with Bobby Drake. She did none of those things though, not only because they would have been pretty damn embarrassing, but also because the latter was highly inapproriate and Kitty could only imagine what anyone in earshot would think. Instead she tucked a loose strand of brown hair behind her ear and laughed at his blabbering. "Hey, I have an idea," she announced, swinging her legs off him and sending her feet back to the floor infront of her, sitting upright again.

"Never use a door when you can make one on your own,"

Kitty - being a bit of a flirt herself - just made an indifferent noise in the back of her throat and shrugged, "You'll have to wait and see," she told him with a cheeky grin, rising to her feet. What she had planned for the two of them they had only done once before, even so she fully expected that Bobby would be able to guess what they were going to do as soon as she told him the next bit. "I just have to go grab something. Meet me out by the fountain?" without waiting for an answer Kitty darted for the stairs, running up them as fast as her legs would allow. Before long she was out of Bobby's sight and headed for her bedroom.

We're going till the world stops turning...
John heard a farmiloar voice and ran for the stairs, stopping when he reached the top just to make sure it was really his girlfriend. He grinned when he saw he had been correct. "Julianet," he called, waving to get her attention.
...while we burn it to the ground tonight.

As Kitty had remained incorporial as she ran for the tree so none of Bobby's thrown snowballs had actually made contract, instead they had just gone right though her as of she was a ghost. She did get quite wet though, considering the fact that she couldn't phase through water because it wasn't solid and the ice was melting quickly under the sun, making for alot of sloppy snowballs and a very wet Kitty. When Bobby appreared in front of her she skidded to a halt only to slip on a patch of ice and land on her butt with a soft oof. Her lips pursed into a pout and crossed her arms as she glared up at her boyfriend from the ground, as if it was all his fault she had ended up on her a**. If Bobby thought she would have given up then he was very much mistaken. "This isn't over, Iceman," ShadowCat sneered, no trace of amusement left in her voice. With that Kitty let herself sink down into the ground until there was nothing left of her but the imprint her butt had made in the snow.

You know you're obsessed with X-Men when...

When you soil yourself from trying so hard to lift up that book with your mind.
