Welcome to Gaia's forums, where millions of members gather to discuss random stuff, make new friends,
complain about life, argue about nothing, laugh at dumb pictures, discuss serious issues and/or curse like sailors.

Lurking is creepy. Quit skulking in the shadows and join the conversation!

What was that? Was all the elf could wonder. She looked up from her book, her rather healthy-looking breakfast already gone and done for. Loivissa hadn't slept at all, due to her nature. She could go for days without sleep, and still be as agile as usual. The reason for the night's lack of dreaming was because Loivissa had been so paranoid about those darn, cursed beasts! What would happen if another made its way onto the school?

Loivissa shoved such thoughts out of her mind. She could defend the school with all she had She didn't need any help keeping the beasts at bay (last night was an exception, and Loivissa knew it). It was silly of her to even think of such. A beast could not slip past her guard. That is, unless her guard itself was slipping...

She removed that thought too as she closed her book and set it down on her thick, fallen-tree desk. She turned and headed for the pavilion. Loivissa sensed fright. Who had been scared? No beast had gotten past the guard. Mornings were for the ghosts until lunchtime, not beasts.

Hm...

In the beginning, nobody knew what would happen. If he hadn't jumped off the cliff, he wouldn't be who he was today. If his mother wasn't dead, he wouldn't be here. If he hadn't been framed for killing the only thing close enough to family he had...

Joe Shimamura, age eighteen, and a full-fledged cyborg. Had he planned to be a cyborg? Pffft. No. Who would want to be part machine? To know you're living among the innocent; the ones who are still whole and pure, and to know you're the one who protects them all, and yet you're no longer one of them? What is that like? He never wanted to feel that. Nobody would.

We didn't ask for this.
Nobody wanted this.
That's why we're going to fix it.

Joe was the one everyone thought would succeed; he was the new, great prototype. But would he be so great? He ran away when lights flashed upon him, forcing him into a clouded mind full of fear and confusion.

"I didn't kill the Father! I swear!"

He was forced to the edge, and he fell. He fell hard. He fell hard onto a table surrounded by white and knives. Nobody wants that. Nobody needs that.

So why is it there?
