Cristel looked outside her window at the rain that was falling and just sighed,it was early March,in Forks,Washington. That meant that the rain would be cold and even if it let up it would still be cold outside. From her closet she grabbed a custom made white tee shirt that had Abby Schuito from NCIS on the front as well as the words 'Between her and the Mythbusters science was never cooler',black jeans, green and black Chuck Taylors, and a green and black striped hoodie. Heading into the bathroom that connected to her bedroom Cristel found herself looking into the mirror, starring at all her tattoos, black and gothic, much unlike who she was when she originally left home at age ten. There was one,on the shoulder opposite her werewolf tattoo that meant more to her than any of the rest,it was her mother's face, name, date of birth, and date of death. It was a more recent tattoo, but she felt as if it had been there forever. Sighing she stepped into the warming shower and all her worries and memories faded away, her mind blank as it always was.
When Cristel left her bedroom she was fully dressed, hood up over her brown hair and eyes diverted at the ground. Walking down the stairs she could hear her father's voice as he talked to himself about something,or maybe he was talking to someone on the phone, either way Cristel didn't want to bother him. As she walked towards the door the floorboards creaked and Cristel froze, her father's voice booming through the house, she had been caught. "You are not leaving here without breakfast Pup." There was a deep chuckle from the kitchen and Cristel headed that way, knowing there was no point in arguing with her father. "I'm not really hungry Pa,but that does smell good." She said as she slid into a chair at the kitchen table, sliding off her hood and placing her head in her hands, just watching her father finish breakfast. He turned to her,his wise eyes strange on his young body. That was the weird thing about her father,he was at least fifty years old,or so she believed and he still looked like he was in his late twenties,it was scary too,to know that such an old man could pick her up and carry her without complaining about his back, and she was twenty-four. "Why so glum Pup? Rain got ya down?" The man asked, though he already knew the answer and knew that the rain had nothing to do with it. He always asked this question, but his daughter never seemed to answer him truthfully,it seemed that she trusted Donovan Black more than him,her own father, which he didn't mind. The two were close in age and Donovan was a caring young man, even if his father was a traitor. When Cristel didn't answer Nathaniel Narkson looked at his daughter with concerned eyes to see her staring at something on the stove. "Pa,you burnt the bacon again. I'll be fine though,I've eaten enough of your burnt bacon that if you ever got it cooked right I don't think I could eat it." She chuckled a little and smiled as her father turned his attention to his burning bacon, ignoring the fact that his daughter had once again ignored his question about her mood.
The two ate in silence,Cristel making sure to eat enough to satisfy her father's liking, for she really wasn't hungry. She had been having nightmares about the vampire that had raped her when she was younger and it had completely ruined her appetite. Once she was done Cristel helped her father clean the dishes before heading for the door. "Hey Pup,check by the door, there are a few things I think you would like." Nathaniel Narkson was always buying his daughter new things, trying to get his happy little Crissy back, but all he got was the depressed and always down Cris. When Cristel found what her father had bought a loud gasp could probably be heard all the way through the Reservation, and even if the gasp couldn't be heard the squeal of delight surely could. "Pa,you didn't!" Cristel screamed as she hugged the official NCIS messenger laptop bag to her chest and turned, her father's arms wrapping tight around her. "I just want my Pup back." The man said as he lightly rocked her back and forth. She quickly pulled from his grip and opened the bag,for it was pretty heavy. Inside was a new laptop and a small plastic card of some sort. Pulling it out,yet another smile was tugging on the corners of her mouth,it was Abby Schuito's ID card. "Thanks Pa,I really like them." After slipping the ID card into her back pocket she wrapped her arms around her father's neck and hugged him tight. He hugged her back and kissed her forehead, glad to see even a glimpse of the old Cristel. "Glad you like 'em Pup,took me forever to find that dang ID card but I wasn't gonna give you the bag without it." She stayed in his arms for a little while longer then broke away, picking the bag back up and slipping it over her head, allowing it to rest at her back. "See ya later Pa." Nathaniel nodded at his daughter as she left, happy to see her at least smiling slightly, even if she was going out in the rain. Pulling her hood up over her head as she slowly closed the door behind her Cristel knew she heard her father laugh, the hood had ears, all her hoodies had ears,it made her feel more at ease and the ones that didn't have ears were bought by her dad and she wore to make him happy.
Cristel was soaked by the time she reached even the edge of town, since she had decided to walk instead of take the car her father had bought for her,she like the rain,no one could see the tears that normally made their way down her face. Though as she walked through town, her hands in her pockets her face seemed relatively happy. Slowly she raised a hand to here chest where a purple button lay,it had white writing on it and it made Cristel laugh,it had to do with Gibbs' rules, and how many of them Ziva needed to know about. Her hand then proceeded to her hood and slipped it off, allowing the rain to coat her hair, which it would eventually reach anyway,so she figured better now then later. She had no real idea where she was going, her little cousins were stopping by later but that was for dinner and she knew Donovan needed some space, ever since Griffin came to town and quote on quote stole Samantha from him Donovan hadn't been himself so Cristel decided not to head towards the Black household. Instead she just continued to wander the town, finally taking shelter under the overhanging in front of the local library, which wouldn't open for about an hour or so,since it was still only eight o'clock in the morning. Sighing Cristel pulled her knew laptop from inside her new bag, glad to know that it was a waterproof bag and that her laptop was okay. Pa spoils me and I know why,but if he knew why he wouldn't let me leave the house ever again. Cristel thought as she opened the laptop and turned it on,glad to know that the library's Wi-Fi never actually got turned off, even if it was closed. Quickly she connected to the internet and went into her favorites, opening up the most current Ziva and Abby NCIS Slash story that Cristel was reading Cristel waited as it loaded, trying to remember where she had left off. Once it had loaded she dived headlong back into the story, quickly lost in the plot that was the non-canon,lesbian relationship between the caffeine addicted goth and the well trained Mossad ninja assassin.
