↘ ↘ Viola, if given her own way, would much rather stayed curled up in her room, on her own, away from the rest of the world, and surrounded by the things she's comfortable with. She's the epitome of the 'shy girl', always quiet and keeping to herself. Vi wants nothing more than to get through life unscathed. To do so, she stays as invisible as she can, never doing much to stand, and staying as far away from lime light as possible. Any attention given to her from a stranger (which is just about everybody) will render Vi almost entirely speechless. She'll break out into a sweat, panic, and then likely run away to find the nearest place where she can just be alone. It's hard for people to get to know because of this, but looking from afar, you can see she's a total pushover. Nice and polite to just about everyone, Viola has zero backbone. The brunette does everything she can to avoid conflict. It's never been something she's excelled with, as she just wants to blend in. She doesn't have nearly enough confidence to get into a confrontation with someone!

Perhaps one of her few redeeming qualities is her brain. Viola is very smart, an honor's student who has never gotten anything but A's her entire life. She has a passion for learning, and loves to discover new things. She's naturally very curious, and has a surprisingly one-track mind. When she's out to figure something out, not much outside from unconsciousness or death will stop her. She'll ignore everything else until she'd figured out what she wanted to know.

Viola, for all her shyness and running away, is a wonderfully warm person, once you force your way into her life. If you are persistent in your venture to befriend her, Viola will let you. She's too much of a pushover to tell you otherwise. But it will still take years for her to be comfortable around you. However, once she is, Viola is a warm and open person. She likes to laugh and when she's with someone she trusts, she gets a little braver, and speaks her mind more often. She can be a bit of a mother hen, always fussing and worrying, but Vi values her few friends highly, since it takes her so long to open up to them. She's do anything to keep them happy.



↘ ↘ Viola has a deep-seeded love of knowledge. She absolutely loves to learn. Reading, researching, all of those things are avid hobbies of her's. Recently, she's learned how to cook. Well, more like bake- cookies, brownies, cupcakes, muffins, those types of things. Vi has a sweet-tooth, so sugary treats are always welcome for her! She's always been a dog person, but small animals in general have been a source of comfort for Vi. Other than that, taking walks outside just after it's rained, being pulled in going for 2am tacos with Terrance, hot tea in the winter, and curling up in her room with a good book all make her 'yes, please' list.



↘ ↘ Viola hates loud noises. Very much the timid little dear. Things like storms or fights frighten and scare her, and she'd much rather avoid them entirely. Or at least ride them out with a friend. Spicey food is another thing. She just doesn't have the tolerance for it. Large crowds also make Vi uncomfortable. Other dislikes would include talking to strangers, soup of any kind, and those plastic straps on clothes that are used to hang them with.



↘ ↘ Viola has always had a severe and crippling case of stage fright. In front of an audience, she crumples, literally and figuratively. She can't speak, her knees go out, and once, she even fainted. Secretly, though, Viola would love nothing more than to finally break out of her shell. It'd be a lot easier if she wasn't so timid...



↘ ↘ Besides reading and learning new things, Vi likes to bake. Perhaps her affinity for sweets pushed her towards the hobby, but over the years she's gotten quite good. She's not much for sports, but her curiousity keeps her moving. A good thing, since she tends to lick the bowl anytime she's baking.

"Alright, we'll be back in a couple days." Mrs. Trent ran another nervous hand through her hair. It wasn't as if Viola hadn't been left in charge before, but this was the first time it'd be for more than a day. "If you need anything, you can always go ask the Greens next door."

"I know, mom." Viola repeated for ump-teenth time that morning. Danny was still asleep, so she had to weather the full force of her mother's overbearingness.

"And if you need either of us for anything at all, just call." Her mother added, helping their father with his tie. "We'll come home right away."

Mr. and Mrs. Trent were finally ready to leave for their business trip. Well, Mr. Trent's business trip. But it was more formal than that, and apparently their mother was needed there, as well. It was hard for Vi's mother to leave them for so long. She worked a lot of the time, anyway, so it wasn't like she was home all the time as is. But she was always close, and always home by the end of the day. Giving up this much control of her childrens' lives, giving them this much freedom, even with Viola at nineteen and Daniel at seventeen, was difficult for her. "Don't worry, mom." Vi said reassuringly. "We'll be fine."

Nodding, her mother shot a quick glance upstairs, toward her son's room. "Okay. We're going, then. Love you!" She kissed her daughter's cheek, and Vi watched as her mother and father rolled down the driveway, and away down the street.

Sighing, Vi shot a look of her own upstairs. She couldn't believe Danny wasn't up yet. He was a teenaged boy, sure, but still, their parents had just left for three days. He could've at least said goodbye. Climbing up the stairs, she lightly knocked on his bedroom door. With no answer, she peeked inside. His room was a mess, like always, but there was at least a clear pathway to the bed. Tiptoeing up to it, she peered down at the sleeping face of her brother. It was weird. Alseep like this, he almost looked harmless and vulnerable. He looked a lot like their dad, too. "Danny. Danny, wake up." She whispered, shaking him lightly. He merely moaned in response, and turned over, a gesture that meant to leave him be. "Danny, mom and dad are gone. It's already ten. Get up!"

Looking back over his shoulder at his pestering sister, Danny glared at her, and threw the covers up over his head.

Shaking her head, Vi gave up. "Fine. Whatever. I'm going out. Don't burn the house down, okay?" Knowing there were no promises there, Vi left her little brother alone, shutting his bedroom door behind her. She quickly changed in her own room, brushing her hair, slipping on more outside appropriate clothing. With a quick look in her mirror, she was satisfied. Vi never really dressed to stand out, so her simple denim jeans and t-shirt were a standard look for her. Pulling on a hat, too- her hair was always getting her into trouble, so she liked covering it up- she laced up her shoes, grabbed her backpack, and headed out the door.

Time to see what Terrance was up to.
