This man seems like a man of mystery to many. Most people shy away from him without much thought, much because they avoid anything that seems dark and dangerous to them. Brecon is tall and very muscular, he is usually seen wearing black clothes which makes him look threatening to most. In his left ear he has three earrings and around his neck hangs a silver necklace that means very much to him. A few years ago Brecon was often seen smiling and often helped people around town, he used to dress in light clothes and his skin was sun-tanned, but not anymore. Now his skin was pale, his eyes were sunken deep in his face and his hair did nothing to compliment his once handsome face. Because of his work as a hired soldier he has often gotten hurt and bears many scars upon his body, but those are usually hid by his clothing. However, he has one scar he is unable to hide and that is the one running from the right side of his face, just beside his eye and it run all the way down to his hip. It was a wound he received when he tried to protect his love.

Brecon is a person who believes in justice. He is a nice person despite his appearance and likes to help people who cannot protect themselves. He lost some of his spirit four years ago when his wife died. Brecon often looks like he doesn’t care, but that is because he has lost his love for the world when Amaia was killed.

Brecon grew up on a farm with his parents. He loved helping them out, but when he became fifteen he decided he wanted to see the world and signed up to be a soldier. He was taught and trained by a man in the neighbor city and he soon became skilled enough to beat the best of fighters. He started travelling soon after that, and it was one on of those trips that he met Amaia. The two of them found a connection immediately, but once the trip to their house was over he had to leave. However, two years later he met her again. He was hired and became her personal guard.

But soon after Amaia’s father began to realize the feelings he held for her and he didn’t want any of that, so in the end Brecon and Amaia had to run away if they wanted to be together.

They settled in a little house far away from cities and lived there happily for two years, but one day everything ended. As Brecon was on his way back from the town with food he saw a fire in the distance. It was the house. He dropped the food and ran the hardest and fastest he had ever done. It seemed a band of thieves had gathered and taken all their valuables, but Brecon didn’t care about that. In front of the four thieves, his wife laid naked on the ground, her neck broken. He roared with anger and attacked the thieves with his bare hands against knives. He didn’t care or even feel it when he got hurt, but kept going until all the scoundrels were dead. When he was finished he crawled over to the dead body of his life and he cried…

There are two sides to Devian. The one he used to be, and the one he’s now.

The one he used to be, from birth until he was fifteen was a boy who laughed and had fun. He took his job seriously, which I will tell you more about soon, but until then he was just like every other teenage kid. He would not say no to anything, well, he would say no to hold a spider. Somehow he just was scared of them. Creepy little bastards. But if we forget those little creatures for a moment, he enjoyed being with people, and he was always helpful and respectful to everyone.

Then it happened, of course you already know what I’m talking about, or if you don’t you’ll learn now. Amaia disappeared. Again, I shall explain that a little better further down. With her gone it was like all light disappeared from the boy’s eyes. He became reserved, was always alone, and he felt betrayed. People wondered what was wrong with him, but with one glance at his eyes they turned away rather than try to help him. He wouldn’t have wanted their help even if they had tried anyway.

He went on as usual, training, eating and sleeping. Day after day. He got worse, his old personality disappeared completely, or, most of it did. It was like, with Amaia’s disappearance his heart went with her and no humanity was left. He didn’t care about anything, he didn’t care when people got hurt, rather, he took joy in it, because then he wouldn’t have to think about how he himself felt. He wouldn’t have to think about the hate and depression hiding within him. It was like he was numb of those feelings at this point.

But this could not last. One day he grew resolute and he let the betrayal of his friend wash over him. He became determined to find Amaia again, and to figure out why they had left.

Alright, I’ll try to keep this simple. The Giraudon family, which is Amaia’s last name, are relatives of the deceased king, or rather simply put, the brother of the king is Amaia’s father. His name is Gaero, and he is Duke of city Camara, which lies a few days ride to the north.

Since the Giraudon family is so important, for it is they in truth that should be ruling this countryat the moment, are protected by the Tamar family, which as you might guess, Devian is a part of. That is the reason he was trained ever since he was a boy, so when he grew up he would protect the Giraudon family. In truth the Giraudon family should be dead, because Galanas Uri killed the king and the rest of his closest family, and he was about to kill Gaero as well, but Gaero and he came up with an agreement which let them live.

So Devian was trained since he was little, and he was determined to protect the family. But he had never thought that which happened would happen. That he would end up falling in love with Amaia and that Amaia would run, or as he though, be kidnapped by Brecon. Even though he felt he had to stay behind with the family, so that no assassins would get their hands on Gaero, he felt he couldn’t stay any longer and he set out to find Amaia. He told Gaero he would do this and surprisingly he agreed, since none of the other soldiers he had sent had been able to find her.

He was seventeen when he left, and it took one year to even find a trace of the two, and a year later he managed to find Brecon…
