• originally from the boxing club even though his appearance and demeanor paint him as the type of guy who has never lifted a finger in his life. he's like glass? bulletproof glass, maybe. he traded in fighting for food for a change of pace and doesn't regret it. seemingly peaceful and upbeat and unfaltering, ren's a very calm guy who won't lay a finger on you unless you push the right buttons at the right place at the right time and when there's no around one to pay witness to it. no really, he tries to his best to be a nice guy even if his actions sometimes come off as being a bit ... shady. ren miyamura's hands were once weapons, now repurposed for the hard work around the kitchen. the kneading and most labor intensive dishes are given to the boy with a big heart and even bigger stomach.

B I O G R A P H Y

The three brothers of the Hanazawa family are said to make the ideal man if they were put together. The oldest was intelligent, the second was strong, and the youngest, otherwise known as Ren, was strong of heart. A sickly kid who stayed inside all day, watching his parents and big brothers run the inn the owned. He also spent a good bit his time watching tv, becoming engrossed in the stories he saw and excitedly retell them to any family member he could find.

In school, he couldn't pride himself on being the strongest or smartest. Instead he vied for the position of most helpful. Often feeling conflicted when people tried to reciprocate by babying or fretting over him and at worst, straight up taking advantage. Fell in love with dogs around the same time, loving them for their loyalty and becoming utterly heartbroken when he found out he couldn't have on of his own because of his father's allergies.

His powers kicked in at age fifteen, manifesting mostly as enhanced memory that had the docs scrambling around, throwing terms like Hyperthymesia, Eidetic memory, or even Savant syndrome around like crazy. To kids his age, it was like some whack job talent. He could tell you the exact shoes he saw the postman wearing last Sunday morning or an entire scene from a movie like he had the script right in front of him. And if he really wanted, he could reenact that moves from pro-wrestling videos with little to no practice. For a while he got away with passing tests with flying colors until the teachers noticed and opted to put him in a gifted class. He then learned to purposely make mistakes so they would bug off and make his life easier and give him another iq test.

The downside was that he couldn't help but remember every little bad thing anyone had ever done to him and it was a struggle to try and push it out of his mind even it was just little things like how Johnny skipped you in line three months ago or called dogs stupid. Naturally, things like break ups and friendships falling apart became devastating.

Had a rich uncle to pay his tuition, so he decided to go Margaux university and major in pre-veterinary medicine. Then a lady named Camilla confronted him and all he could do was smile and nod to hide his discomfort because just what the hell was this lady trying to tell him?


P E R S O N A L I T Y

A frail and sickly boy often plagued by illness as a child, but to a lesser degree as an adult. Not very strong or robust in physical terms, his strength lies in his determination, self-control, and perception. Tries his best to give off the impression of being a kind and dependable boy whose sparks of optimism and supportive words can guide you through hardship. However, anyone who knows him well enough can tell you he's a rather high maintenance person with some shady tendencies and more trust issues than Drake. Shady as in he is known for occasionally saying some off things, generally passed off as him joking or not knowing what he's talking about (spoiler alert: he probably does). He desperately wanted to be recognized as something other than a sick boy who will shatter like glass if you're not careful (mostly by his family) and has a hard time accepting that sometimes there's nothing nicer than being pampered.

He values loyalty a lot -- gain his trust and he'd die for you, no hesitation. Fortunately, getting him to even consider trusting you is something that requires more effort than most people should ever really put forth. And though it may seem like a detriment much of the time (because there are some things you hear and see that just wish you could forget), he's very observant because of his position.


A B I L I T I E S

Adoptive muscle memory, meaning his power is to copy abilities through observation. It's limited to non-elemental abilities (i.e. he can't create fire from thin air because he sees someone else do it) and it has to be something he is physically capable of doing (he can't pick up a boulder cause he sees someone else do it). Enhanced memory is a side effect of his power. Though it is possible for him to forget, it takes way longer than it does for the average person. Also, memorizing too much in one go could potentially lead to brain damage.

like most of the new things he gets dragged into, haruki embraced it with a sense of youthful exuberance that brings tears to stone-faced old men. how exciting! time-travelling, in his opinion, was the stuff you saw scifi adventures and here he was going to be a real marty mcfly and have wacky time travel experiences. see, haruki is hooked to change and big flashy lights, to the point he often has to force himself to see things through and even then he's dragging his feet while doing. the only things that drive him forward are the thrill of challenge and the fun that comes with succeeding but when it drags on too long he has to remind himself that giving up is harder than trying. so it's only a matter of time until the novelty of the experience wears off, reality sets in and his interest drops like a lead balloon. as of now, his honeymoon phase with time travelling and moving around all the time is still strong but some cracks are beginning to show.

• Haute couture (/ˌoʊt kuːˈtjʊər/; French pronunciation: ​[ot kuˈtyʁ]; French for high sewing or high dressmaking or high fashion) refers to the creation of exclusive custom-fitted clothing.
