"Emmeline! Sie sind dabei, sich zur Schule zu verspäten!" *
Emmeline looked up from her pillow that was covered in drool to see her older brother, Bruno, standing in the doorway. The girl sat up in bed and rubbed her eyes then pointed out of her room for her brother to leave. This was just great. Her first day at a new school and she was already running late. She hopped out of her pajamas and ran into her bathroom, not bothering to shut the door as she did. 'Everything will be alright,' she thought trying to reassure herself. Emmeline rushed into the shower, next she brushed her teeth and hair, then she clipped her bangs to both sides of her face, and lastly she slipped into her uniform. The blond looked down and grimaced. It had been ages since she'd last worn a skirt or knee high socks, but this was what she had to wear so she had to deal with it.
Emmeline grabbed her bag and a bratwurst from her brother's plate then dashed out the door. The girl from Luxembourg smiled as she ran down the sidewalk. When she ran she felt as if nothing could touch her, her troubles would wash away, she would be free as a bird, she felt that when she ran she was invincible. Eme moved her legs as fast as they could carry her, maybe even faster. She didn't want to make a bad impression because it seemed that that was what always happened in every situation.
Soon she made it to the school, arriving only three minutes late. Emmeline walked into the school, bratwurst in her mouth, and looked around for any signs of other teenagers. The blond turned down a hall, munching on her brat and looking at her schedule. "Um . . ." Emmeline glanced back down at her schedule, trying to read it. "Study Hall? Where's that?" She looked up from the piece of paper and swallowed her food. Emmaline smiled as she saw two people walking in front of her. She was so excited to see other people that she ran over to them and forgot every word of English she had ever learned. "Hallo! Mein Name ist Emmeline wie ist Ihre Namen?" ** Emmeline greeted with her high-pitched, German filled voice.
* You're going to be late for school.
** Hello! My name is Emmeline, what are your names?
