He grew up in an average home. He had average parents and an average little brother. He got average grades at his average school. Everything about him was just plain average. But he didn't mind being that way for awhile; he still made some friends and went through life rather easy. Whenever he tried to challenge himself he would just end up making the process to simple so that even the worst kid in class could do it. It was beneficial when he did a small tutoring job for students during his second and third years of high school. But... one day he just really wanted a challenge. To be the best at something. The most amazing, to put it simply. It wasn't enough just to do everything 'fine', or get the moderate scores on essays and tests.

Ayumu grew up in a small town for his whole entire life. When he was younger he loved to explore and play with bugs; this is ironic, considering that he loathes bugs and creepy crawlers now that he is older. At the age of five he made his first best friend, Hibiki. They were inseparable from the moment they met on the swings at the park. Of course, Ayumu had been shoved off the swing by Hibiki and the two had dueled it out by throwing sand at each other... but when the scratchy grain had been wiped from their watery eyes they both only just looked at each other and laughed at how silly they'd been. Or, at least, that is what their parents thought. It's unsure what was going through either boys head at the time when they met except for... they were young boys who didn't take things to hard. Life for Ayumu as a child was simple and carefree because of his friend. They were friends for a long time, and joined soccer together at their elementary try outs once they hit third grade... and that was where their joyful fun friendship hit a curb and sent Ayumu licking his wounds on the street. They tried out and while Hibiki was very good at sports, Ayumu's asthma caused him to be the worst player on the team-Ayumu wasn't diagnosed with asthma until he had an attack on the soccer field during a practice where they were doing running drills. His breathing issues caused him to have to quit the team by orders of his protective mother who couldn't stand to see her child put himself at risk. But when he quit, Hibiki began to spend more and more time with his friends at soccer instead of with his original friend, Ayumu. The boy of course was heartbroken at this and after a year of being basically ignored by his friend he decided to give up completely and try to make new friends... until then Ayumu had fenced himself off from the rest of the students, determined to only be friends with Hibiki because he was convinced the other boy was all he needed.

He wasn't a dumb child however, just a very shy one, so he first tried to talk to some of the other boys in his class... which didn't turn out well. Ayumu would often stutter on his words which caused the other children to pick on him and make fun of him, saying he acted like a little girl. Hibiki didn't help him out now even when he saw his old best friend getting picked on... he just turned his head and picked up his pace. This hurt Ayumu more than before when the other had ignored him. He sat alone at lunch, glad by fourth grade he was able to be more interested in books than normal kids in his class. He'd read a lot of books. Not because he was an especially fast reader, or at an especially high level of reading, but because he spend so much time on each book. Teacher's loved him, children picked on him. It made no sense to him why they did. He didn't smell, his mom bought him really nice clothing, and he wasn't slow or weird like other kids he had seen being picked on. Not even those strange kids wanted to play with him. Ayumu thought that they must have been afraid of the bullies who called him mean names, and were only trying to spare themselves from the ridicule. For that, Ayumu did not blame them, he would probably have done the same thing in their position.

One day during lunch in fourth grade he sat alone on one of the swings, the rest around him swinging idly with the force of the wind. A book was open on his lap and his lips moved soundlessly as he tried to sound out a particularly challenging word to himself. He didn't even know what it meant. And, so just as he made a mental note to ask his teacher about it when recess ended the creak of a swing next to him could be heard and he jumped from his swing resulting in his laying in the sawdust with his book shut next to him, no book mark inside to mark where he was last at. He was about to say something to the person in the swing when he realized that the boy who sat in it was one he had never seen before. Ayumu blinked in surprise when he heard him giggling to himself at the boy’s misfortunate jumpiness. But what really surprised him was the hand that outstretched to him and helped him up. That day was the day he made his first real best friend. Makoto.

They were friends for a long time. Makoto had been brought up very well and was polite to everyone, but just because he was polite didn't mean he was friends with everyone. He only chose to be friends with Ayumu. The rest of the class was shocked at this, but it pleased Ayumu. Enough that he even had the courage to trip his old friend Hibiki in fifth grade one day in the lunch line. That turned out to be a bad idea. Through many years in soccer, Hibiki had grown a lot of muscle... and when he saw the small form of Ayumu he promptly gave the boy a black eye. Makoto had laughed and just told him he had bit off more than he could chew, and his mom wasn't especially pleased either, for she was already stressed from the burden of being pregnant with her second son. He was born during the middle of Ayumu's fifth grade and Ayumu loved the little boy with the bald head more than anything. His brother, Susumu was peaceful child and rarely cried in the middle of the night, luckily for the now family of four. Because their apartment was too small by then they had to upgrade to an average-sized house a few months after Susumu was born. Ayumu didn't mind because the house was actually closer to his school now that it had been when they lived in the apartment.

Junior high was when things started to shape up in Ayumu's live for the better. He and Makoto went to the same school then; Makoto planned to go there for the academics while Ayumu himself simply... liked the uniform and the fact his friend was going to there. The school change got him away from the former bullies and into a better environment where the students actually enjoyed his presence. He learned average amounts, passed most of his tests with eighty percents and successfully led his average life through-out it. His brother started to grow and talk, and that was when Ayumu decided that the little one wasn't as cute as he had originally thought. What with the little boys snarky mouth.

While the other kid's expressed what they were aiming for with life... Ayumu still didn't know what he wanted to be. A writer appealed to him until he remembered he couldn't write well. A doctor then... until he remembered he was bad with blood and remembering even simple medicines. So he pushed the thoughts from his mind once high school entrance exams started. Again, he followed after Makoto. He was sure he would make it into the same school with how much he studied... but, he didn't. Ironically he only missed the test by a few points. Ayumu ended up having to go to his second choice and leave Makoto behind. He was upset for days but finally ended up remembering that they were good friends and didn't need time at school together to stay that way.

Turns out they did, for a few months into his new school he lost all contact with Makoto. Ayumu decided then that he had bad luck with friends and tried to block himself out by paying attention to academics. He would help any one that asked though, his kind heart made sure of that, he just made sure not to get to close to people. That's when realization really hit him that he wanted to be good at something. He automatically crossed out sports after his run-in with them before. Academics were no sure thing. Just like with him trying to figure out a career, he decided not to worry about it. Because he now studied very hard he was able to make a little cash on the side by starting to tutor his classmates. He graduated from high school with his average report card and headed to college. Instead of shooting for the bigger colleges out in cities he wanted to stay close to his family and settled on a small college just outside of where he lived. That was where he found out he wanted to be a chef. Never before had he been tested at cooking. There were no home economics classes in any of the schools he went to, or at least, none he had known about. He occasionally cooked food at home but usually only simple meals. It wasn't until he took a cooking class on a whim that he decided it was what he wanted to do, what he wanted to do to define himself at being able to be more than good.

By his second year in college he was able to land a steady job at a sushi restaurant as a waiter and moved into his own apartment close to his family. He also had wanted to get away from his perfect little brother. The child had ended up being insanely smart and good at sports... all which made Ayumu resent his brother just a little. He loved Susumu a lot, of course, he was one of the only people he let himself stay close to... it just made him jealous that the younger was so much better and would probably accomplish more in his life than himself. That kind of thinking made Ayumu really self-hateful for being jealous of a little boy. So that was one of the biggest reasons that he moved out. Also, it was hard to try and make friends at college when he was living with his parents. He wanted to make friends now that he was able to pinpoint his best interests.

And that is where he stands now, nineteen and a wannabe-not-so-average-anymore-chef.

Kindness is what really defines him. He is willing to help any one that asks and do it with a smile. Of course he has his days, but even then he still manages to keep his words soft. Ayumu is probably to kind of his own good, actually. Even when he was picked on as a child, if a child who bullied him came to him for help he'd still help regardless of what the other had done. Not that people normally did come up to him but the times they did he didn't hold it against him. He's able to really understand people, and knows what it's like to be treated unfairly, so he tries to be as kind as he can to every one. This often leads him to be taken advantage of, such as him always buying things for other people. Or taking the blame for his brother. Those sorts of things. The kindness then stems to his loyalty. He never betrays any one. If some one swore him to pinky swear a secret he would hold it to his grave. All of his friendships fell through because of something in the other side, but he himself would have stayed by his friends sides forever if it was possible. He likes to know that his is some one who people can actually come to and trust with no doubts, and so far he has accomplished that goal. If the secret is self-harmful though he will do all in his power to help, but if he can't he will try and force the person to get professional help, and he still considers that loyalty, because no loyal friend would let another friend get hurt, in his opinion.

Ayumu is also very shy which causes him to have a hard time making friends. When meeting new people he will turn his head down and stutter, avoiding eye contact as much as he possibly can. People usually take it the wrong way as if he really doesn't want to talk to them which is definitely not the case. He loves meeting new people. He doesn't understand to himself why he is so shy, but it causes him a lot of lost chances on making friends. Embarrassment is also easy for him, and usually he cannot take a simple joke the right way. He ends up blushing quite a lot. Relationship wise he has never been in one because he was never able to get that close to anyone.

At the sight of the manager Ayumu blinked before shooting him a quick smile. He leaned back on the heels of his shoes, anxious to actually meet the man he would be... assisting, for lack of a better word. Maybe it would be like taking care of a puppy. Making sure he was comfortable, feeding him, that sort of thing. But he had heard celebrities could be strangely needy. Puppies were needy, he reasoned, but in the end it was worth it. Yeah. Daiki would be like taking care of a puppy. Not that he would ever let the other know that was what he had come up to think of him as. It could be offensive and cost him the job...

All thoughts of taking care of a house pet fled his mind when he heard the crashing and slamming of the objects being thrown around. His eyes widened in fear and in reflex he stumbled out of the apartment and into the hall, nearly falling onto his butt... but he caught himself just in time by grabbing onto the door frame. Still, the shock was still pumping through him and his only movement was dropping his arms to his sides. Ayumu wasn't used to violence, obviously. The closest he'd really gotten to it was when he was younger and got hit by some bully who really just picked on everyone... But he was eleven, and really hadn't encountered anything like that since then... he'd seen movies of course... but his parents were really mellow, and he's always been a good child. There was no reason for him to see anything like it. But, this wasn't really violence. More like a freak-out. And a little bit of violence for the poor manager.

Ayumu was tempted to leave during the calming down but... well, he didn't have enough time to after the shock had subsided.

"I... I think I've got the wrong room." He said with a nervous chuckle, eyeing the calmed half-naked man wearily. Ayumu knew it wasn't, of course, but a guy could have his dreams. Dreams that got cut short when he had to get up early to come to the crazy factory. The good looking crazy factory, sure, he’d give Daiki that… Or maybe it was just a test to see if he would be a good assistant, to be able to take care of Daiki no matter what he… did? Not that it seemed like an act…

“Or… is this a warm-up? Are you going to star in a drama?” Ayumu chirped, stepping a little closer into the apartment. He prayed that the towel on the others hips would be kind and stay up. It was the job of a celebrity like Daiki to be good looking, sure, but Ayumu didn’t need to see more to fuel any teenage girl like thoughts.

He glanced around the room, and mentally groaned, the itching thought became an almost guarantee… he was going to have to clean it up.
