I can't. I just can't. I can't stop thinking about him. I won't. I love him. I love him so much. Why can't I turn back time? Why, damn it?! A loud buzzing noise had awoken the alluring Choi Si-yeon. Her whole body was covered with her white sheets and blanket, shielding herself from anything and anyone. Under the covers, Siyeon had her eyes closed, afraid to open them. She knew she had been crying. It was like this for the past weeks or so. She had been frustrated with sleeping alone. Without him. Every time he entered her mind, the memories would arrive in her head. The time they met in a parking lot, he asked her out for dinner. He was so beautiful and amazingly kind-hearted. His eyes, hair, smile, body, voice and just about everything was amazing. She had absolutely no idea how much she would love this man. Soon, they began keeping in contact with each other: Texting, hanging out at coffee shops, karaoke, or just watching a movie at his house. It blossomed into so much more. When they kissed, Siyeon felt like flying. When they cuddled, she felt protective. When they made passionate love to each other, they felt invincible. Everything seemed perfect. Then the fights started. Trust issues came about. Fear was toying with their emotions. She had enough. No more fighting. To her, he wasn't the same man as before. It was gone. So she broke it off. Just like that. Never spoke to him again. It has been four years..

Siyeon finally opened her eyes to see the truth. She still loved him. Why now? Why? She kept asking herself that and she could not find the answer. Slowly sitting up from her bed, the covers finally reveal herself. Her brown hair that was once long, was now shorten. She did not wear makeup to bed but this time she did. It was a careless mistake. She had only wore a simple grey t-shirt to sleep. Yesterday was a lazy day. She did not bother to go out. She hardly went on dates anymore because all the men she would encountered were sleazy and perverted. No one could replace her first love. Just thinking about it made her develop more tears in her eyes. Siyeon covered her face and screamed quickly. She needed to snap out of it. It has been four years. There was nothing she could do. She couldn't find him. She had his number, but was too much of a coward to even call. Siyeon dropped her hands from her face and looked down at her hands. Tears and spots of makeup were upon her hands. She sighed deeply as she finally crawled out of bed. She headed towards the bathroom and closed the door behind her. Siyeon looked at herself in the mirror and moaned. She looked dead. What happened to the woman that was confident? She asked herself that as she kept her eyes on the mirror. She couldn't even look at her now. Instead, she walked towards the shower and decided to take a nice, hot one.

Coming out of the bathroom with just a towel on, Siyeon brushed her blown dried hair and walked over to her closet where she chose to put on this outfit. After changing, she went back to the bathroom to put on her makeup. She wasn't going to go all out with it. Just enough to make her feel beautiful, even though she wasn't telling herself that. Emerging from the bathroom, Siyeon walked over to her phone and turned it on. She waited to see if she received any messages. None. She sighed deeply as she grabbed her purse on the ground and threw her phone in there. She quickly walked out of her apartment and entered the hallway. She had no idea where she would go but she need to leave. Sitting inside an empty apartment wasn't going to make Siyeon any better. She had to stop thinking about him, but would her emotions let her?

Like a common routine, Siyeon already made her way out of the apartment and started walking towards the downtown area of her neighborhood. It was a nice day outside and the breeze blowing at her seemed to make her mood a little better. Maybe getting out of the apartment was something that she needed to do. Arriving in a marketplace, Siyeon began looking around at the food and clothing, before entering the expensive part of the downtown, where all the malls and boutiques were. Shopping was every girl's pleasure, so she couldn't stop herself from looking through the windows that showed the clothing on the mannequins. She smiled slowly at the beautiful outfits, wishing she could afford them.

Hyori could not stop the tears from flowing down her cheeks. She was probably messing up his shirt. That was the least of her worries, anyway. When she felt Young Jae's arms around her, her eyes opened in wonderment. This was him. There was no doubt in her mind anymore. Even though they both have grown up in size and age, Hyori felt like a kid again. She couldn't help but to smile. His warmth, his touch around her, and his body was new to her, but it was familiar at the same time. Hearing him say he was sorry was enough for her to wrap her arms around him. She did not want to let go. Embracing each other like this filled her heart up with joy. Did it have to end?

As she reluctantly expected, Hyori felt herself leaving his embrace. Suddenly, she looked up at him and noticed his whole body was tensed up. Did someone come up on the roof? How could they? Oh crap. She forgot to tell him to lock it. At that time, she did not expect anyone to come up on the roof at this time. Why would they? She bent down to grab her bag and lunch, trying to stuff it in quickly, but not until she was grabbed by the wrist and started running.

What the hell? Feeling like a rag doll, Hyori yelped as she tried to run properly. Her legs were running at an angle with her body lunging forward. As they approached the steps leading to the hallway, Hyori finally got her body in the correct position to go down the stairs. They stopped suddenly and found herself looking down at their hands. She couldn't help but to blink, and then smile. Even his hand felt different, but still familiar. The moment they felt their hands drop, she pouted instantly. She then noticed Young Jae's gaze at her. It made her focused, since his face looked really frustrated. As soon as he mentioned paparazzi, her mind when back to the reality of their situation. Moments ago, they just remembered each other and shared a loving reunion of their friendship. It was like everything was back to the way it was..well almost. He still was an idol to the face of everyone. But to her, she was his best friend, her 'Cabbage'. It made her feel a bit sad. She didn't want to be, but in truth, it would be difficult to maintain the relationship that they just rekindled. Young Jae was now an idol. Hard to believe that the cabbage boy became a popular star. The media is all over him, especially now that he was attending this school. Would things be difficult between them? Would she lose him again? All these thoughts hammered at her head.

It was then that Hyori felt his hands on her arms. It caused her to stare at him, no matter how hard she was trying not to tear up again. She listened to his words, carefully and each moment he spoke, she felt the truth. She felt his grip on her and it was slightly shaking. He didn't want me to be sad...He was afraid. Those were the words running through her mind. Ultimately, she understood him. If she was in the same situation, she would probably not see him. Hyori probably couldn't bare it to see Young Jae sad, or even cry. It would hurt too much to see that. It made her erase the doubts in her head. They were reunited for a reason: to gain their friendship back. She wasn't going to let the fact that he was an idol stop her. Of course, she had to be reasonable. There were certain things that they couldn't say or do. Which would put a big damper on things. Before Hyori could say a response, she heard a familiar voice.

Looking up from Young Jae, she noticed Lee Min Ho had arrived at the stairs. Crap. She had a class. She and Min Ho always walked to class together. It was almost like a ritual. She bit her lip as she looked back at Young Jae and Min Ho. Damn it. She looked at Young Jae with a kind smile as she wiped her face. "I already forgive you..so it's okay....." Why was she feeling nervous all of sudden? She shrugged her shoulders to fight it off and nodded. She dropped her arms from him and patted on Young Jae's head as a weird way of saying bye. Why couldn't she just say bye? Walking down the stairs, she found herself standing next Min Ho, who was pretty much in a state of worry. Oh goodness. Class. She pushed Min Ho towards the way to the Pottery classroom. She was indeed rushing him. "Come on. Come on!" She finally gave up pushing him and started rushing to class. She even grabbed his wrist to hurry him up. When they got into class, Hyori placed her hands on her knees to catch her breath.

So much has happened, she didn't have time to breathe. Hyori smiled at everything that has happened with Young Jae. She finally got her best friend back. Taking her hands off her knees, she looked up at Min Ho and frown. He was probably wondering where she was and even worrying him. She faced him and bowed. "I'm so sorry! I lost track of time. Thank you for coming to find me." She lifted her head up to reveal an innocent, yet sorry expression on her face. Min Ho has always watched her back and kept a good eye on her. Which of course, kind of threw her off but as she got to know him, she begun to appreciate it. He was probably the only true friend she had at this school. They didn't live that far away from each other, so they always wounded up seeing each other. The bell had rang and students were already heading towards their tables. She looked around for their open seats and motioned Min Ho to their seats.

When Hyori arrived at their table, she threw her bag on the table and sighed. This class would be stress relief, even though she wasn't that good with pottery. Thank goodness Min Ho was mostly her partner for their assignments. She wondered if they were still continuing with their projects...though her mind wasn't even on the project. Her mind would always find a way to think about Young Jae. She had to shake her head to try and concentrate but it was so hard. She rested her arm on the table and looked over at Min Ho. Was he still upset? She hoped not. She tilted her head towards him and instead asked, "Are we still working on the vase project? I remember that we already baked it."

"I understand. She won't leave on my watch. Never."

                                                    Beep.

Ending the call by the press of the button, a male voice sighed deeply in the dark. The shades were closed, so only little pieces of light were shown. The lights were completely off in his room. He liked being in the darkness. Everything was hidden and you would be in the unknown. Your senses would be cut off, if you know how to use your head..and ears. Luckily, the scorned bodyguard, Jae Wan was taught well. He was trained for several months for combat and protection, but he also learned valuable techniques of using the surroundings to aid him in work. Such as using all of your senses in a troubling situation. Jae Wan always loved using tactics instead of head-on combat. It made him stand out than the rest of the bodyguards in training. He was always focused on being the best, since he could never be the best when he was young. Now, he was able to accomplish more than ever could. It would be unexpected and clever, just what he needed for her.

Eun Mi. He was hired to protect her. He was picked out specifically, which made him proud enough. When he discovered that he would be protecting Eun Mi, the famous dancer, the memories would crawl back inside him. She used him like a toy, a nothing. He loved her and what did she do? Grabbed his heart and shoved it at his face, like it was nothing. She would regret it. He vowed that some day she would regret her actions, and look at where we are. Jae Wan was now her bodyguard. He could be close to her again, but not in the way as before. Now he could get revenge. Cold, hard revenge. Once again, he couldn't do it on the spot. Baby steps. It will all be worth it in the end.

Jae Wan stood up from his couch and walked over to the closed blinds. Gently grabbing the cord, he played with the string and smiled. "I won't let you wrap your finger around me again." He pulled the cord which caused the blinds to raise up to reveal the whole room. He slightly squinted his eyes from the shine of the sun, but he ignored it. Walking back to the couch, Jae Wan grabbed his phone from the cushion and headed to the bathroom.

Closing the bathroom door behind him, he started taking off his white tank top that he slept in and threw it on the floor. He stretched his arms out, twisted them to make sure his flexibility was good. No straining muscles. Good. Looking from the side of him, he looked at himself in the mirror, keeping a plain expression on his face. Suddenly, he saw his family in the reflection; mother, father, brother, and sister. They were staring at him...trying to stare down at him. They treated him like the black sheep. Like he was worthless. The times his brother mocked him, the way his sister played tricks on him, and how his parents ignored him. Then Eun's face appeared in the middle. She was beautiful...and lovely. Those eyes...her voice....His nostrils flared and fists were balled up. No. She was going to be no more. She will regret it..they all would.

                                                    TIMESKIP~

Driving down the street towards the dance studio, Jae Wan had the windows down, and the music on. TVXQ's Keep your Head Down played. It was loud, active, and it kept him concentrated. He never listened to slow, ballad songs, it brought his mood down to a place he never wanted to be. Upbeat music kept him going and moving. Almost like an adrenaline rush. He caught himself singing the words to the song, and stopped. He had to keep his eyes on the prize. Eun Mi. She was in one of the dance studios practicing for some music video that he could care less about. He was told before he left that she needed to go back to the agency for a meeting after her practice. It seemed easy enough, and he hoped that it would be easy to manage. To this day, Jae Wan would never suspect Eun would be this famous, especially for someone like her. To everyone she seemed sweet and perfect. What a load of crap that was. He was told after they hired him about the story of Eun and her family. Her parents were looking for her because she was trying to accomplish her dreams of being a dancer. Of course, they rejected it and wanted their daughter back home. They wanted to keep her like a little bird, trapped in a cage. Jae Wan found himself chuckling at that thought. He did not feel bad at all. Her parents would be a part of the stepping stone of his revenge, but for now, he needed to work his way up to her. Get her comfortable. It was all a matter of time. Nice and slow.

Turning the corner from the street, he noticed the area in which the dance studio was in. Jae Wan turned the volume control down as he slowed down and parked near the entrance. Shutting off the ignition, Jae Wan grabbed his sunglasses and remained in his seat before going outside. He cracked his knuckles, then rubbed his mouth. He felt nervous. It almost like he went back in time when he was in high school. This time, she probably doesn't even remember him or what he looked like. He did though. Jae Wan never forget her face. He needed to remember it. There was no way in hell he would give up this opportunity. Gripping the steering wheel tightly, he took calm and deep breaths. Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. There. He started to come back down to Earth. Back to reality.

Jae Wan opened the door and exited the car. He walked around the car and leaned against the passenger door. The door to the studio stood right in front of him. What time would she get out of here? Maybe it ran long. Only time would tell. He kept his eyes on the door, awaiting for her arrival.

Protecting Heesok became Huan In-Su's job, his nightmare, and his advantage. All three wrapped into a bundle. This woman became the thorn in his side since high school. They were once friends, very close friends. They could talk to each other about anything. It was pretty much a brother-sister type of a bond. He cherished that bond with her and he would never do anything to wreak it. As they grew up during their high school years, Heesok grew more beautiful and elegant, just like a princess. His brother-like friendship grew into a first love for In-Su. She was the one person that he thought would never leave his side. That's why it was never a problem for him to confess his feelings to her. Then the worst happened. She grew a cold-heart and abandoned him. In-Su never knew what happened and every time he wanted to find out, Heesok just brushed him off like he was nothing. She spoke cruel words to him that he never thought he would heard her say. Pathetic, weakling, loner, useless; those words were engraved into his mind. Her voice saying those words never escaped his mind. He always was a loner and the one time he thought he could escape from it, Heesok dragged him down further. This time, In-Su would not let her take control of him. He was going to put matters into his own hands. She was going to regret everything.

Years have passed and now In-Su has been granted to be the bodyguard of Li Heesok. The same Heesok would abandoned and crushed his heart. The same Heesok that treated him like crap. You would think he wouldn't be caught dead doing this, but in truth, it was all a part of his plan. He would get close enough to her every day and crumbling away at her. Yes, her parents and everyone around her sees her as this 'princess'. Really? That's not how In-Su saw her. Now, as her bodyguard, he is supposed to protect her and keep her safe from harm. In reality, Heesok does not know what is coming to her.

Heesok was always on In-Su's mind, not in a loving way at all, but an annoying little itch that wouldn't go away. He had been told that she has a habit of being a 'rebel' and escaping to lord knows where. Some princess she was. As her bodyguard, it was his job to make sure she was safe and of course, he would make sure of it. How would he get his revenge on her if there are people already getting dibs on her? So he made sure that he was one step ahead of her. He was never letting her out his sight.

Awaking sooner than expected, In-Su flipped the covers off him to reveal himself. His hair was probably messy as usual, but no matter. A simple shower would do the trick. Easily getting from his bed, In-Su walked confidently over to the bathroom to take a shower. After drying off his hair and body, he then proceeded to the closet to change into his outfit. Since it was still early in the morning, it would be a bit chilly before the sun came out. Before he could even slip on the jacket, he froze. He heard several creaks on the floor then the opening of the door. In-Su scoffed and shook his head. This girl was not slick at all. No matter how hard she tried. There was a banquet that they both were ordered to attend and he was going to make damn sure she was there. He took his time getting ready before heading out of his room, towards the front door and outside where his car was parked. Getting into his car and without even turning on the music, In-Su drove right on after her.

                                                    "This girl will never learn."

In-Su realized that she was heading to the lake area, which was pretty calm and peaceful. He could see why she wanted to come here. It was a soothing place. Mellow, beautiful scenery, and the smell of fresh lake water. He saw the car Heesok was driving in the parking lot. He pulled up right behind her, just to make sure she would back away and drive off. He exhaled slowly before letting go of the steering wheel. In-Su knew that it wasn't going to be easy getting back, but if he learned anything from the past, he would know that giving up was not an option. Especially if it came to Heesok. He climbed out of the car and slammed the door behind him. He then walked over to her car without a care in the world. She slammed his hand on her driver's side to get her attention before leaning his body on the back door of her car.

"..yah! How long are you gonna be out here? We got a banquet to attend in a few hours. If you don't mind, I would like to get there early. So can you hurry up with whatever you need to do?"

Yun Chan-Sook believed that everything was just a nightmare. The death, the cold blood, the life-less bodies, and the tears shed that day; it was all a nightmare. One by one. Her mother, father, aunt and uncle and grandparents, were dead. She felt as if pieces of her heart was being ripped out. Chan-sook never imagined that this would happen to her family. They were taken away from her and for what? She never figured it out. No one helped her and honestly, she didn't need it at this time. She just wanted to be left alone by everyone. Chan-sook felt herself sinking into a dark place. A place of depression and ultimate sadness. Friends have called her, even tried to visit her house, but she would never answer. When people tried to even enter the house, Chan-sook would threatened them, shouting, 'Go away!' 'Leave me alone'. They soon understood that she wasn't ready for any kind of interaction. She was always in her room, holding her legs into her chest and cried. There were times she did not eat for several days and all the crying made her feel sick. Each day, she would try to let her body eat so she could function, but the emotions running through her made her tear up again. She was a complete wreak.

It had been several weeks since the death of her family and Chan-sook was slowly recovering. She started eating and cooking for herself. What helped in her recovery was becoming distracted. It was the only way that she could dull the pain. So, she cleaned the house. Every room and floor in the house was spotless. She would have food delivered to her so she could cook. No, she still wasn't ready to face the outside world until she felt ready. Of course, she had to leave the house at some point. What was holding her back? Fear? Probably. Chan-sook felt that everyone knew about her, like an open book. Everything was out of the open and there was no where for her to hide. It was a scary thought. She was scared. There was no one protecting her. Chan-sook was all on her own.

It was the afternoon when Chan-sook had awaken from her slumber. Last night she had too much to eat and all of the food made her so tired that she felt asleep on the couch in the living room. Slowly finding her awareness, Chan-sook rubbed her eyes slowly. As she moved her hands away from her eyes, her vision was becoming clear. She turned to the side, facing the coffee table in front of her and reached out towards her phone. Pressing the button to turn it on, she waited for the screen to appear so it could show the time. The phone screen showed that the time was 1:45 pm. How long was she out? She could not remember what time she actually went to sleep. It did not matter though. It was then her phone beep and her eyes wandered back to the screen. A message alarm was set her. Chan-sook slowly stood up from the couch so that she was sitting straight up. As she read the message on her phone, she made a small frown. It was then she remembered what happened last night. She made a promise to her to venture outside, to get some fresh air. It became another step into her recovering over her grief. Why in the hell did she decided to do this? Chan-sook felt like going back to sleep instead, but then what would that solve? That she was a coward? That was she was disappointing her family? She felt herself gripping her phone tightly at her thoughts. Throwing the phone on the couch, Chan-sook built up the energy to raise up from the couch and headed towards the bathroom to take a shower.

After about an hour in the bathroom, Chan-sook took a shower, applied make-up, and fixed her hair for today's little adventure. With a towel wrapped around her, she headed towards her bedroom, which was at the far end of the hallway. She slowed down her pace a bit because the other rooms in the hallway beside hers were her parents' room. She faced the door and place her hand on it. Closing her eyes, she sent a small thought and continued down the hall. She opened her bedroom door and closed it behind her so she could change.

After she came back out again, she ran her fingers through her hair and headed back downstairs to the living room. She crossed her arms as she descended down the stairs, pondering where she could go. Clothing was the first thing that popped into her mind. Having that decision in her head, Chan-sook made a small smile and grabbed her purse from the ground. She walked back to the couch so she could pick up her phone and dropped it in her bag. Before she left the room, she went back into her purse to grab her sunglasses. Slowly placing the shades over her eyes, Chan-sook took a deep breath and exited the house. It was a bright day and kind of chilly. Even with her sunglasses on, she placed her arm in front of her vision. It has been a while since she had been outside, so it was time to adjust herself. Chan-sook started off walking slowly towards the shopping area. Keeping her eyes straight ahead, she did not bother looking at people. All she wanted to do was rush to the nearest clothing boutique. She knew that they would stare at her. It was possible that they knew it was Chan-sook, but she tried to ignore it.

Finally arriving at the boutique, Chan-sook opened the entrance door and was greeted by a store-clerk. She nodded to her and continue to make her way to the dresses. There were several dresses and skirts that grabbed Chan-sook's attention. She felt like a normal person again. It was then she realized that she was still wearing her sunglasses. Her eyes darted around before taking them off and placing them on her head. She could see better of course, but without the shades, she felt even better. Gazing over several skirts that she picked out, she placed the ones she wanted on her arm and carried them. Suddenly she felt a slight brush against her shoulder, which made her instantly turn. It was a...man? In a woman's boutique? She couldn't help but to show a smile. Maybe he was here with a girlfriend or maybe a present for his girlfriend. He had guts, she gave him that. After deciding what clothing she wanted to purchase, Chan-sook headed towards the cashier and placed several pieces of clothing on the counter. It was just three skirts and one long black dress. She did not know where she would even wear it to. Maybe she could wear it around the house or something. Chan-sook shook her head and scoffed at the thought of it. As the cashier woman ringed up her items, Chan-sook fumbled around her purse for her wallet. When she opened her wallet, her mouth dropped. There was no money in her wallet. She looked around for her credit card, but then realized she left it at home when she made all those food purchases.

Chan-sook bit her lip and cursed under her breath, then the cashier lady told her the price and she knew damn well she did not even have enough for it. She felt so embarrassed that she knew that her face was already turning pink. "Umm..mianhe..I don't have that much money with me. I'll put the clothing back..." She didn't even bother to look at the lady, who was giving her a very serious and annoyed expression. Chan-sook grabbed the clothing one by one in her arm, feeling so careless.

                                                            "Ha! I win again!"

The loud and quite proud Kwon Jong-kyu jumped up from his couch, raising his arms up to the sky in victory of winning a race in Mario Kart on the Wii. His expression was bright and proud when he won the game. His girlfriend, Su-ji, on the other hand was not too pleased over his win. This was his 4th win in a row and Su-ji has not won yet. He always enjoyed playing video games with Su-ji, but this time it was all too easy. The Wii racing controller was still in the grips of his hand when he brought his hand down. He looked over to Su-ji, with his smile never leaving his face. "Su-ji..are you letting me win? I was expecting more of a challenge this time. I was looking forward to it." Su-ji's eyes became daggers as she stared at him. Jong-kyu's expression changed dramatically and backed away for just a little bit. Was she that mad over her loss? He thought about it over and over. Maybe he made things too difficult for the game. Jong-kyu could have let her won once... Maybe she was having an off day. It was then Jong-kyu sat back down on the couch, dropping the controller on the ground and resting his arm on the top of the couch. He was facing her and playfully poked her cheek which caused her to smile a bit. "Come on..tell me what's up." Su-ji turned her head to face him and sighed deeply. Jong-kyu studied her face and his final thought was that she was worried about something. He wanted to make her happy..he wanted to see her cute smile again. Before Su-ji was about to speak, Jong-kyu cupped her cheek with his hands, keep his gaze on her. Su-ji's face was already turning pink and her eyes never looked away from Jong-kyu. To Jong-kyu, she looked so adorable..making her blush was probably one of the things he liked about her. Su-ji finally mustered up words, but it was like a whisper. "J-Jong-kyu..please.." Jong-kyu chuckled lightly and shrugged his shoulders. "Whatever you say.." He leaned closer to Su-ji's face, noses touching each other. Her eyes slowly closed, waiting for his touch. Man..she really is soft..and cute. It's so tempting..

Jong-kyu's mouth turned into a mischievous smile as his hands that were resting on Su-ji's cheek. On the tips on his fingers he slowly pulled onto Su-ji's cheeks, expanding her face. Jong-kyu already started to laugh at her face. To him, it was a mixture between adorable and deformed. It was hilarious. He had hoped what he did actually put a smile on her, when in reality she was quite pissed. "YAH! Jong-kyu!" She yelled at him as she flailed her arms around. She then placed her hands on him and pushed him off, causing him to let go of her cheeks. He was not expecting this reaction from her. She definitely looked more red in the face than before. Jong-kyu blinked at her with a shocking expression and spoke calmly to her. "..I'm sorry? I thought it would make you happy if I did that. You looked so unhappy." Su-ji was holding her cheeks as he spoke and then gave him a deadly gaze. Standing straight up from the couch, Su-ji stared at Jong-kyu and begun shouting at him. "You think everything has to be a joke to you, huh? I am so tired of this. The way you have been acting..it's like a little kid! You play games, act so immature sometimes, and kid around. I want romance. I want someone to sweep me off my feet and hold me. I want to be in love.. I thought you were like that, Jong-kyu..I really did. Now...I don't know..I just..don't know." Su-ji looked away from him after she spoke, closing her eyes. Jong-kyu just sat back and listened to her. What was he supposed to say? Sorry that she's not the man for him? Sorry that he's like this? No. He wasn't going to change for no one. There was no way in hell he was going to change who he was. That's like telling him not be Jong-kyu anymore. He exhaled a sharp breath from his mouth, causing Su-ji's attention back to him. He looked up at her with a sad expression and simply said, "I'm not gonna change who I am because of your little fantasy. I'm not like that. I think you are better finding someone else to be your 'man' instead dating a 'little kid' like me, if that's what you think." Su-ji's expression changed dramatically. She felt hurt by his words and honestly did not expect that from him. Jong-kyu did not even bother to look at her. If all she saw in Jong-kyu was a kid, then why were they together? What was the point? He assumed that she wanted to end the relationship with him, so Jong-kyu got up from the couch and walked off to the kitchen. "Don't let the door hit you on the way out...actually no. Let the door hit..and let it hurt... like you hurt me."

TIME ↷ SKIP TO A FEW DAYS ~

Awakening to the alarming sound of his clock, Jong-kyu who was under the covers, mumbled and cursed under his breathe. Today....something was supposed to be happening. He was too tired to remember but he knew something was going on. Jong-kyu did know that he had to shut his alarm up. He flipped over the covers, forcefully and revealed his exposed chest and boxers. He laid on his chest with his face in the pillow. He continued to curse under his pillow until he felt like he could move his arm. He extended his hand over to his alarm on the nightstand and flung it to the ground. It stopped ringing at least. Probably wasn't the smart way to shut it up, but he did not care. He hated mornings. Jong-kyu turned onto his back and looked up at the ceiling. His thoughts about Su-ji have entered his mind over the past couple of days. He wondered if he shouldn't have said those harsh words to her. Well, they seemed harsh to her. Women were quite sensitive and during that specific time, those words were probably not what she wanted to here. A day after the incident, Su-Ji text him, wondering if they could talk some more. Jong-kyu debated about it, but he decided to brush her off. He would usually say that he was busy with work or he made a prior commitment with his friends. In truth, he actually wanted to avoid her. You could say that he knew that talking would get them nowhere. All she would do was belittle him.

Jong-kyu turned his head away from the nightstand and felt himself going back to sleep. Another sudden interruption woke Jong-kyu up again. His phone, which was in his bed started vibrating continuously. So in defeat, he raised himself from his bed, grabbed his phone, and unlocked the screen to see the message. His eyes were still half-closed, so reading the message was difficult. He rubbed his eyes and yawned before looking back at the screen again. It was from his friend, Hyun-sik, talking about hanging out sometime soon:

                                                            To:J-Kyu
                                                            From: Hyun:

                                                            MSG:
Yo, how long is this resort thing you're going to?
We need to hang out soon..
Maybe we can crash it or something kkk
Don't know if they got security or something.
                                                            Let me know.

Jong-kyu slammed his hand against his forehead. That's what was going on today! He knew that there was something that he was suppose to go to. He read Hyun-sik's message again and chuckled. As nice as it would be for him and his buddies crash into the place, he needed this escape. Just for him and no one else. Plus, this was going to be a fun experience. Make some new friends and just have fun for once. Well, more fun than he had before.

TIME ↷ SKIP TO A COUPLE OF HOURS ~

After driving for about an hour and fighting with his GPS system, Jong-kyu finally arrived at the right address. He slowed down his speed so he could search for a place to park. He figured he could park along the street with no worries. He found a good spot that was not too far from the mansion but still had to walk across the street. Turning off the ignition of his car, Jong-kyu clapped and rubbed his hands together, feeling excited. He did not know what to expect here but he knew it had to be a lot of fun. He turned around to the back of his seat to grab his luggage and backpack, humming to himself. Opening his side of the door, he pulled himself out of the car along with his luggage and closed the door shut with his foot. Once he was outside and started walking into the direction of the mansion, he felt his legs not moving. He stared at the mansion with his mouth hanging open. The mansion's beauty and elegance. It was incredible. He was in awe. Jong-kyu had never been in a mansion like this...he only saw this kind of place in dramas or movies. He was standing in the middle of the street for a good minute before he realized he shouldn't be standing in the middle of the street. Jong-kyu started making a run to the front door in excitement. Heck, if the outside of the place was beautiful, what about the inside? His smile never left his face as he opened the door to the mansion.

Damn, he was still blown away. This place was awesome! Jong-kyu took off his hat before looking around the area, Everything looked expensive. All Jong-kyu wanted to do was explore and nothing more. He then noticed that there were people already here. Nice. He dropped his luggage on the ground which reminded him that he needed to at least put his stuff in the room. Man, he couldn't wait to see his room, but first he felt like he should at least introduce himself. It was the least he could do before getting lost within this mansion. "Annyeonghaseyo~ Jehierumun Kwon Jong-kyu ipnida." He even added a small wave to his introduction. He then realized again he needed to put his stuff in his room. Scratching his head, he quickly held up one finger as a sign for waiting just one moment. Jong-kyu picked his stuff up and headed on up to the rooms. As he walked around, he noticed name tags on each of the doors. "omo...Assigned rooms? That many people here, huh?" Jong-kyu nodded his head at his discovery and continued on the search for his name tag. When he founded it, she spoke out, "Bingo~", and opened the door. Damn, the bedroom made him speechless once again. Keep it up, he just might have to move in here. He chuckled at himself at the thought, but it would be nice though. He dropped his stuff on the bed nearest to him and saw another bed from across. Maybe his roommate did not arrive yet. Oh well, he would eventually meet him. Shame they are same-sex rooms..it would have been fun to have a co-ed room. Those thoughts kept entering his mind as he headed back down their stairs. Thankfully, the people he greeted were still there. He walked down the stairs and jumped off the last one confidently.

"I'm gonna explore this place for a while. Anyone wanna join me? Yes? ..No? ...Maybe so?", he said to the others as he started slowly backing away already about to leave from the area.

Papers after papers, the dedicated Hong Ri-na, sat quietly at her desk browsing through each application she had written for several jobs. Almost at the end of her senior year of college, Ri-na needed to look for a job as soon as possible. It was important of her. She figured that with her degree in business, she could easily get a job, but in reality, she wanted to form her own business and become her own boss. For her to do that she needed experience and lots of it. She either wanted to dove into fashion or music business or hell both if she wanted to. Maybe medical business would be ideal…it would pay well. Ri-na planted her hands on her forehead and shrugged over her desk. This was more stressful than passing a simple class. It was always like this Ri-na. No one pushed her but herself. Her parents were very easy-going with her and had faith that she could succeed in whatever her heart desires. While Ri-na was very pleased that her parents were confident in her, she knew that she had to do it all on her own. She wanted to earn this her way because it showed that she was strong enough for the real world. She wouldn’t let silly things get in the way of her goal. Sometimes because of that mentality she has, Ri-na does not have a lot of friends. She has more acquaintances than anything. Although she does have one person that is…close to her, and it was then that she heard several noises coming from her window. It caused Ri-na to jump in surprised. ”Bwoh?!” Quickly placing her hands over her mouth, she silenced herself so her parents wouldn’t hear that shout. Ri-na looked back at her door and listened for any outside movement. It was silence. She then turned to stare at her window, waiting if the noise would come back again. As she stared, it looked like it was pieces of pebbles that were hitting her window. She jolted once again at the sound and dropped her hands from her mouth into her lap. Aish…I swear.. She slowly rose up from her chair and slowly crept over to the window. Ri-na placed her hands on the windowsill and pushed it upward to open it. She poked her head out of the window and looked around the darkness outside. She heard nothing at first then someone shouted from below.

”Yah~ Ri-Ri! Let me up!” Ri na knew exactly who it was. Young-jae, a guy that she was currently seeing, but it wasn’t something to write home about. Sure, he was a cutie but Ri na saw nothing much else with him. He had this habit of calling Ri na “Ri-Ri” because it sounded cute. Ri na actually hates it and tells him all the time that she despises that name, but he just kept saying it. Young-jae always looked cute when she looks upset at him. Ri na placed her finger on her lips and pressed it against her lips as a sign for him to quiet down. He smiled and waved his hand at Ri na, telling her to come down. She crossed her arms and sighed. ”What could he possibility want with me now…at this hour..stupid..” Ri na knew that Young-jae was in love with her and for a while, she enjoyed his company. They went on dates, held hands, and yes they have kissed. The thing about it is that she never really felt anything special about him. She just led him on and Ri na felt bad about that, so it was better to end things now than later. He was a good guy and he deserved better.

Ri na held up one finger and shook it at him, letting him know to wait a second. She closed the window slowly and headed straight for her door and walked out slowly. Thankfully, her parents were still sleeping as she stared at the closed bedroom door. She quickly shuffled down the hallway and headed down the stairs. She dashed towards the front door and started unlocking the door. As soon as she opened it, Young-jae smiled and waved at Ri na brightly. She couldn’t help but to smile at him. He looked adorable…but now wasn’t the time. She had to be serious. ”What do you want? It’s late.. Young-jae’s smile turned into a frown. His expression really did not faze her, but it did make it harder from her to actually let him down. ”I want to see you…and..” Before he continued, Young-jae pushed the door open, making Ri na walk backwards. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her into an embrace. Ri na’s eyes darted in every direction, wondering what the heck was going on. ”I love you, Ri-Ri…I really do. I wanna be with you.” Ri na closed her eyes tightly, trying to block out his words. This is what she was afraid of. She should have broken it off a long time ago. This was her problem and she had to deal with it the best way she could. Ri na used her hands and gently pushed him away, breaking away from the embrace. Ri na looked down at the ground, trying not to look at his surprised and broken expression. She shook her head and took a slow, deep breath. ”I don’t feel the same way. I am sorry. I should have told you this a long time ago. I don’t have time for love..” Ri na looked up from the ground and just stared at his chest. She couldn’t bear to look at his face, but she had to be strong. Ri na whined as she charged at Young-jae, pushing him out the door. He felt back a bit at her force, but he soon was out of the door. ”No! Wait!” Ri na stared back at him and shouted, ”Please, just don’t! I don’t wanna hear another word!” With that, she slammed the door and leaned her back against it. She covered her ears, trying to block out everything that happened. Yes, she broke Young-jae’s heart, but it was for her own good. She did not need more distractions. Ri na had to focus on the matter at hand, and that was making sure her future was bright. ”Ri na! Are you alright?” When she heard the voice coming from upstairs, Ri na knew that all the noise that happened would wake her parents up. ”Aish…Don’t worry! Everything is alright…

TIME ↷ SKIP TO A FEW DAYS ~

”Trust me, Ri na, you will enjoy this place. I have read everything about it and your father and I think you will need this.” Listening to her parents going on and on about this resort mansion was getting quite annoying. She told them time and time again that she did not want to do this. She had more important matters at hand and she would rather earn her relaxation. Plus, why now? Couldn’t her parents wait until her semester was over? She guessed that her parents knew she was stressed out with work, school, and Young-jae. After the break-up, he called, texted and even showed up at her doorstep, begging to come in. She would never open her bedroom door to anyone unless it was important. Writing her resumes and essays kept her distracted from her problems. It was her escape. When her parents found out about the Young-jae dilemma, along with her stressing herself over work, they decided to send her off to a resort for her to rest her mind and body. They cared about her as parents should for their child. Ri na, at first, denied the trip but the more that they annoyed her about it, the likely chance she would accept it and she did break down and agreed to go. She just wanted to get this over with.
”Did you hear your mother, Ri na?” Ri na looked up from her phone as she slouched down into the back car seat. Her parents had decided to drive her to the destination and it was quite a long ride, but at least Ri na could catch up with some sleep. ”Yes. Let me know when we arrive.” Ri na ended the conversation with that by dropping her phone in her purse and closing her eyes, drifting off to a silent sleep.

TIME ↷ SKIP TO A COUPLE OF HOURS ~

Her parents waved to her and soon drove off away from the mansion. Ri na turned away from the streets and faced the mansion. My goodness, it was breathtakingly beautiful. Maybe there is a silver lining to this. Rolling her suitcase and straightening her backpack, Ri na walked towards the entrance and pushed the door opened. Her eyes darted around the place in wonderment. It was absolutely beautiful in the inside as well. Then she heard voices. It suddenly hit her…her parents did not mentioned that there would be people here. Her once excited expression was now serious. Ri na was not expecting this. AT ALL. Ri na quickly dashed away from the echoing voice until she felt the room’s atmosphere change. She looked from the side of her eye to see an aquarium. Her eyes widened at the beauty of the fishes. It was so calming, watching the fishes swim in the deep blue water..it was mesmerizing. It almost made her forget why she was mad..
As she kept shuffling along the glass of the aquarium, Ri na felt a slight bump against someone. It made her come back to reality. She rubbed her shoulder gently and turned her head to what she had bumped into. A man..who was also looking at the aquarium. Is he one of the people that were staying here? ”Omo~ Sorry..got distracted.”

Sending more butterflies into his stomach from Min Suh hugging him again, Jong-kyu could not erase the goofy smile from his face. It was surprising that she held onto him this long, not that it was an issue or anything. It felt nice to just feel her against his chest, he couldn't help but to wrap his arms around her, keeping her close. He slowly closed his eyes, concentrating on the feel of his skin against hers, the soft touch of her hair, and the warmth of her body. Being around Min Suh, holding her like this almost made him forget about everything that he saw tonight. He hoped something like this would not happen again, especially if Min Suh was involved. Jong-kyu would make sure of it. When Min Suh unwrapped herself from his waist, he was a bit reluctant to let go of her but since the limousine had arrived, he had no choice. He dropped his arms to his side and smiled back at Min Suh's cuteness showing again. "I'm probably gonna sleep in...carrying a man that is injured is exhausting." He scratched his head as he followed Min Suh inside the limousine. The ride was just a blur for Jong-kyu since he felt really tired and couldn't get over the embrace of Min Suh. It was a moment he could not get out of his head. As soon as they arrived at the mansion, Jong-kyu made his way to his room, stripped all of his clothing off, and changed into a clean shirt and boxers. He flopped onto the bed, not even bothering to pull the covers on him. Rubbing his face into the pillow, he kept his eyes closed, focusing on thoughts that would relax him to sleep. As his mind wandered, he thought of hugging Min Suh again. He was too hard-headed to admit that he missed it. All he could do was to tell himself, 'maybe next time..'

TIME ↷ SKIP TO A FEW DAYS ~

Hearing the rain and thunder rolling outside, all it did was make Jong-kyu lazy. He was awake and aware of his surroundings but he just did not want to move from his bed. To Jong-kyu, thunderstorms were a bit of downer. You couldn't really go outside that much, unless you want to risk yourself catching a cold or having lightning striking near the area. Though one of those options wouldn't most like happen, the thought still enters his mind. He slowly turned his body, away from the windows. He pondered what he could today that would be enjoyable for him. He scrunched his nose at the thought of swimming. It already felt that he has seen enough water due to the storm outside. He wondered if anyone else was awake. Probably so..maybe he could get something to eat and bother people. He seemed to be good with that and it would probably brighten his mood. He rolled over towards the window, and shot up out of bed. He headed for his dresser to pick out his clothing for the day and rushed right on into the bathroom. He took a quick shower, then fixed his hair and clothing, and gave himself a pat on the back for looking good. He always gave himself a confident booster when he needed it. Once Jong-kyu came out of the bathroom, he quickly put his shoes on and headed out of the bedroom. As soon as he closed the door behind him, he could already hear people and noises from the kitchen. He nodded his head as he headed toward the sound, feeling glad that there were already people up.

As he entered the kitchen, he waved at everyone and smiled. "Good morning!" Everyone seemed to be content and pretty well. As he walked over to the refrigerator, he eyed over at Jun-seo, who seemed to be doing well. Thinking back to that night, Jun-seo took the most severe injuries and seeing him up and around made Jong-kyu feel better. Byeong seemed to be doing well also..with pretty little Chul Mi near him. All Jong-kyu could think was that Byeong certainty got a good catch. Nice job.. Hye Su looked well, also although he had thought that she would be around Eui Tae to see if he was alright, which reminded Jong-kyu that he needed to pay him a daily visit. So far, today has shown that everything seemed to be back to normal. He looked back at the fridge, examining what he could eat. He really wasn't that hungry, so he settled for something small. He found an apple and took the opportunity to take it out of the fridge, so he could rinse it off. Taking a nice size bite of the apple, he enjoyed the nice, juicy taste of it as he strolled out of the kitchen. He needed to find something to do around the mansion, so he thought walking around for a bit might trigger something for Jong-kyu to do. Then at the corner of his eye, he saw a figure along the bay window. He rushed over there curiously to find Min Suh, sleeping soundly. He stood still while covering his mouth. keeping all of his noises to a minimum. He had to swallow the bits of the apple from his mouth instead of chewing them, so slowly he swallowed the pieces. He felt himself trying to cough so squinted his eyes and tried to release a small amount of coughs. He exhaled softly, trying to catch his breath and went right back to looking at Min Suh. He had never saw her sleep, so it was a tender moment he was feeling. A part of him wanted to scare her so she could wake up, but he felt himself backing off from it. It was something about the way the rain and Min Suh that made it too precious to interrupt. He held the apple in his hand tighter as he inched closer to her, almost touch her body. With his free hand, Jong-kyu gently moved a strand of hair from Min Suh's face. Instantly, he could feel her soft touch, almost letting it linger there. He dropped his hand and let his eyes wander to the seat of the window. There was a little bit of room for him to sit, so he did. He gently planted himself on seat, trying not to make a lot of movement. He turned his lips, keeping his eye on Min Suh then looked back down at his apple. So much temptation in his mind, but for once he controlled it. He thought as soon as she woke up, the first thing she would see was him. Well he hoped.

Ga-yoon lifted her hand away from her forehead to take another glimpse of the unknown man, who was named Paek Youn Ki. Everything was settling in Ga-yoon’s head so slowly that she had to make sure she was listening to Youn Ki’s words, watching his gestures. He seemed conflicted as he spoke, which made her worried. Was she going to be okay? Would she make it out alive? As soon as he mentioned Minhyuk’s name, she took a chance to slowly sit up from the bed, trying not to have that wooziness come back to her. She needed a clear mindset so she could find out everything about Minhyuk and this place. ”Where you are? I’m afraid that’s a complicated question. As for who I am? Why, I’m surprised that Minhyuk never told you. He didn’t tell you a lot, I assume." ’Never told me what? What was he talking about?’ Question after question started flowing in and out of Ga-yoon which made her head ache, but it wasn’t going to stop her from thinking about Minhyuk. Yes, she was worried about her only love and yes she was terrified of what would happen next to her, but what else could she do?

She continued to listen to Youn Ki’s words, finding out that the ambulance took Minhyuk. Ga-yoon figured the ambulance would take him to a hospital, but which hospital? The both of them wouldn’t know, but Ga-yoon wanted to find him, take care of him, and just be by his side. How could she even find him if she was held up here? Ga-yoon looked down at her shaking hands, realizing how worried she was. What was she going to do now? Hearing Youn Ki’s voice again, she lifted her head up to look at him, catching him smiling at her. She felt a sudden jolt coming from her stomach, but she wasn’t sure if that was her body telling her that she’s hungry or the kind-hearted smile of Youn Ki’s smile. Ga-yoon didn’t want to answer that. When he spoke of food, she glanced at the plate of food next to her then back at Youn Ki. ‘What is his intention with me?’ If he wasn’t going to kill her, then what was his purpose of bringing her here? Before she could reply to him, another voice appeared in the room. She turned her head towards the door to see an unfamiliar man who seemed to know Youn Ki, but addressed him as ‘sir’. This added more curiosity to Ga-yoon, but hearing Youn Ki’s sharp voice forced her to turn away from the man. She glanced back to watch the interaction between Youn Ki and the man behind the door. It became confirmed in Ga-yoon's mind that Youn Ki was in charge, but his mood changed as he looked back at Ga-yoon with his gentle smile once again.

Youn Ki spoke of a book shelf in the room and reminded her of the food that he had brought. At this time, she didn’t want to eat or read any food, she just wanted answers. She didn’t have a moment to speak after Youn Ki left and said, ”Promise me that you’ll give me you name next time we meet? It’s only fair, since I introduced myself.” Why did that send her chills in her body? What did this man want with her? He made it clear that he wanted to keep her in this room, but the purpose was still unknown. Ga-yoon stared at the door for a while, wondering what could be out there. Moving her legs off the bed and onto the ground, she raised herself up from the bed. She already felt wobbly from standing up but she was determined to move. Ga-yoon looked down at the IV in her and gently pulled it out. It didn’t hurt, but it became a bit itchy. She ignored it though and made her way towards the door. Her legs felt like jello as she walked. She could fall down at any point, thankfully she grasp the door by placing both of her hands against it. Ga-yoon laid her head against the door, thinking about what could be behind there. She ran her hand down to the door knob and pulled it. She pulled it again, and no avail. It was locked. Ga-yoon was not one to curse but she couldn’t help but to say, “Damn it.” She would be stuck in this room for who knows how long. It made no sense for the door to be locked. All it did was frustrate her. She walked back to her bed to sit down and played with her hands.

‘He said he would be back in a few hours…I hope.’ She really wanted to leave from this place so she could see Minhyuk. He was probably the only person on her mind, along with another person. Paek Youn Ki. Ga-yoon questioned why he would take care of her like this; giving her food and water, healing her from the injury, and treating her so kindly. It was strange to her because she didn’t even know who he was, but she felt safe. Ga-yoon glanced over to the plate of food next to her and reached out to touch it. She placed the food on her lap and slowly started eating. She didn’t feel hungry at all, but Ga-yoon figured that she would need food sometime soon. The nervous feeling in her stomach wouldn’t go away no matter how much of the food she ate. After she finished eating, she placed the plate back on the counter, stood up from her bed and began pacing herself. It’s only been ten minutes since Youn Ki left and it felt like hours already. Ga-yoon sighed deeply, trying to figure out what to do. It was then she remembered her phone. Maybe she could make a phone call. She looked around the room, trying to find her purse, but it was nowhere to be found. ‘No…it couldn’t have.’ The only conclusion she was able to draw was that her purse was left on the ground when she was shot. She raised her hand towards her wound to touch it but winced at the soreness. Maybe she needed to rest more.

Laying back down on the bed with her body facing the ceiling, Ga-yoon tried to stay positive in this dark moment. She closed her eyes and thought of Minhyuk, holding his hand and keeping him close to her. She wanted to see him and she would. Ga-yoon kept telling herself that over and over until she could believe it.

It became another one of those days for Kobayashi Sayuri; the day that her best friend, Himiko, decided to set her on a blind date. This wasn’t the first time that her best friend would do this for Sayuri, of course. Himiko tried setting her up on many dates to try to bring Sayuri out into the dating world, but all of the dates have failed. Sayuri would stand the guy up and not show up at the decided time and place. She would also ditch the guy at the last minute and just stay home, or she would just flat out say that she wasn’t interested in dating the guy and leave in the middle of the date. It wasn’t because she hated men or had a bad relationship with someone. Actually Sayuri has never been in a relationship because she didn’t see herself as the relationship type of person. Many people, including family and friends, have seen Sayuri as a strange and awkward girl and it was thought to be negative in her eyes. When she was a kid, the neighborhood children would tease her and run away whenever she approached them. She would always say silly and inappropriate questions that a child shouldn’t even ask. From asking what the color of the blood was and actually trying to get a spec of blood from a kid to asking if they would let aliens experiment on their brains, Sayuri would ask these questions as if it was normal to say. She grew up from that stage of her life, but it seemed that her thoughts and awkwardness never really went away. Instead, it just expanded the more she was around people.

During high school, Sayuri never joined any clubs or sports nor attended special events that her class hosted. She would simply go to school, eat her lunch, study, and then head home to study some more or play computer games in her room. She was seen as the outsider, but paid no mind to it. She was teased for it and several girls thought she was trying to be cool by being the silent one in the classroom. She brushed off their words and continued to think about what she could make for dinner the next day. Sayuri thought it was pointless for someone to tease her because she didn’t talk to anyone.

One day, during gym class, Sayuri was confronted by the student body president who was the same year and class as her. Takeda Fuko was her name. Most of the girls in her class envied her school smarts, her beautiful looks, and charming personality. She was the typical girl that every guy wanted to be with. There was one thing that always set Fuko off though and it was that Sayuri wasn’t like the many female classmates that worshipped her. She ignored Fuko’s presence, even though Sayuri never realized it. Fuko thought she was the goddess that everyone should worshipped and seeing Sayuri not acknowledging Fuko like that made her blood boil. So she decided to confront Sayuri face to face. She talked down to Sayuri as if she was a dog. Fuko continued to tell her that she had no right to think that she was better than everyone else and that she was irrelevant to this school. She continued to speak words that would normally break a person down but for Sayuri, it was nothing. It became common sense for Sayuri to think that mean and controlling people are the irrelevant ones. They seek people who are less than them and ridicule them for their own selfish reason and for what? Sayuri figured it out in her head, while ignoring most of Fuko’s words.

So after Fuko finished talking, Sayuri walked in front of her, and pushed her aside while speaking loud enough for people to hear. “The irrelevant one here is you. It’s seen that you are nothing but a selfish girl who loves attention for some weird reason that only you know. So, if it makes you happy, fine, but you are probably going to have a sad life. Sorry.” After she spoke the last words, Sayuri continued her gym activities while Fuko had a temper tantrum which brought amusement to the class. In all honestly, Sayuri had no underlining purpose for speaking about Fuko like that. It was on her mind so she thought it would be nice to share it at least. Maybe it would stop Fuko from bullying others. After the confrontation with Fuko, Sayuri developed a blunt way of speaking whenever she talked with anyone. Once again, it was never Sayuri’s intention to be mean; it just felt comfortable for her to speak her mind. Her classmates at school began admiring Sayuri soon as after the small altercation with Fuko. It was also bringing her attention to the boys as well, which was not Sayuri’s intention at all. It became another obstacle for her.

In Sayuri’s mind, she thinks she could never find a guy who would like her just the way she is , so she pushes them away as a warning them that she is not the right girl for them. To her, who would want a blunt and awkward girl that tends to turn people off by her words? Her friend, Himiko tells her otherwise. She thinks the more Sayuri gets into the dating world and understands that there are people are interested her and possibly attracted to her, she would be confident. Sayuri had told Himiko many times that it’s just not going to work out. Being in a relationship isn’t everything to her. She could find better things to do with her time. Himiko on the other hand just wanted Sayuri to be happy and she was going to do it by any means necessary. One thing that bothered Sayuri about Himiko was that she always had a hidden agenda with her plans involving dating and hanging out. Even when they first met during their last year of high school, Himiko was a sneaky girl. Sayuri enjoyed it at first because Himiko was always the person who knows where the best places to eat lunch or how to sneak into classrooms if they were late. It was convenient. Now it was just getting out of hand and Sayuri should have known better. The blind date was the last straw for Sayuri.

Time Skip to : 5:43pm. 'The Blind Date in Shibuya'

Darting her eyes within every area of her surroundings, Sayuri realized that she could have a chance at running away and head back home. The meeting place for the set-up blind date was near the shopping areas in Shibuya. In her mind, she should have known something was fishy. Meeting at Shibuya? Not only was it one of the popular shopping districts in Japan but it’s the home of many love hotels and restaurants. If only she knew sooner, she would have hopped back on the subway and called Himiko about her little lie. Originally, Sayuri and Himiko were going to shop for some cute trinkets and outfits during their break. They both were leaving for university after the holidays had ended so they wanted to spend as much time together as possible. Obviously Himiko’s intentions were different. When Sayuri arrived at the meeting place, that’s when she got a call from Himiko, saying that she couldn’t make it because her mother wanted her to do something for her. Instead, Himiko mentioned a ‘friend of hers’ would arrive to hang out with Sayuri in the meantime. That’s when it hit Sayuri hard that this was all a set-up. Surprisingly she wasn’t upset with Himiko. She was more upset with herself, falling for a trick like this. She should have known better.

It had only been five minutes since she last spoke to Himiko, so that means her ‘friend’ should arrive anytime now. ‘He probably knows what I look like therefore making it difficult for me because I don’t even know what he looks like. I need to get out of this area.’ Sayuri was not going to go along with this plan so she was going to do herself a favor and just stand the guy up. Was Sayuri going to feel bad about this? Probably, but she would brush it off sooner or later. She started walking back toward the subway station, while keeping her head down. Hopefully he wouldn’t find her yet. It was almost six o’ clock, which meant that it was going to be crowded in this area soon. She used this to her advantage and walked along the crowd. Sayuri kept her eyes down for a while, but she had to look ahead to see where she was going. She kept muttering "sumimasen, sumimasen" like it was a chore. She had to move quickly, but before she could actually make a run for it, someone called out her name. “SAYURI-CHAN! SAYURI!” She felt her stomach dropping from the nervous feeling. She didn’t want to be caught yet. “Kuso..” she muttered to herself. She didn’t even want to look back, so she picked up her pace and rushed onwards. She clutched onto her phone and purse as if she was never letting them go and pushed herself more into the crowd. She bumped into more people, saying ‘sumimasen’ over and over again. She knew it was getting out of control, but she wanted to leave the area as soon as possible. The crowd started to lessen but there was another obstacle in her way: the stop lights. It was on red, so she could not walk for the next twenty seconds. She started jogging in place so she could keep her momentum. She couldn’t remember hearing the voice calling her name or not, but she didn’t want to focus about that right now. Ten seconds left. She was almost there. Just need to cross the street. Five seconds left. Just need to jog to the other side and then it was easy. A ding sound went off and the digital image of the walking man appeared. Sayuri smiled confidently as she took a step forward. At that same time, something pulled her back. She could feel herself tripping backwards, but something kept her steady. Sayuri yelp from the sudden force pulling her and quickly turned around to face an unknown man. He seemed to be around her age but she wasn’t quite sure. He did look concern about her but at this point she didn’t care. This guy pulled on her as she was about to walk. Who does that, she thought. Who did he think he was? “Daijoubu desu ka?” he asked. She frowned at him and started yelling at him with informal Japanese. People began watching as she pushed him away and hit him with her purse. She pointed at his face, telling him that it is impolite to pull a woman like that for no reason at all. She looked back at the timer for the crossing and made a run for it. She turned her head back at the clueless man and stuck her tongue out. She turned her head back as she finally made it across the street. Sayuri continued running to the subway station, still thinking about the random guy that pulled her. At least, her ‘date’ wasn’t around to stop her as well. Little did she know that the random guy was her date…

Time Skip to : 7:56pm. 'The Kobayashi Residence'

As soon as Sayuri arrived home, she kicked off her shoes and spoke from the foyer, “Tadaima..” Instantly she could smell something delicious coming from the kitchen and it calmed her down. With everything that happened tonight, Sayuri needed the familiarity of home to make her feel better. “Sayuri..welcome back! You are home so soon? Did Himiko have to leave early?” After her okaasan (mother) mentioned Himiko, Sayuri realized that her phone could be bombarded by several messages from her frantic friend. “Umm…yeah something came up for her and she couldn’t make it so I came back home.” At least it was the truth. She really want to bring up the random guy who pulled up back. It still made her upset.

Sayuri headed upstairs and down the hallway to her room. She opened her door, turning on the lights. She threw her purse on the bed and sat on the ground where she took her phone out, revealing what she expected from Himiko. She sent her a dozen text messages and several voice mails. Suddenly a red light appeared on the side of her phone, followed by a vibration. Of course it was Himiko again. Sayuri took a deep sigh and finally answered her phone. Before she could even finish a word, Himiko yelled out, “SAYURI-SAN, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? WHY DID YOU HIT POOR HAYASHI-KUN?!” ‘Hayashi-kun?’ Sayuri turned her nose and shook her head in confusion. “Wait, who’s Hayashi? I don’t know any Hayashi.” She could hear Himiko’s frustration in her voice, but it didn’t stop Sayuri from being confused over this Hayashi person.

“H A Y A S H I. The guy you were supposed to meet up with? The guy I set you up with? The guy you beat your purse with?!” “HUH? Wait! I did not beat him with my purse. I just hit him and yelled at him. It wasn’t trying to kill him.” Sayuri bit her lip in frustration as well. She didn’t mean to hit the guy. Then as it slowly reached her mind, she gasped when she realized that Hayashi was the guy that Himiko set her up with and also was the guy she hit. Oops, she thought in her mind. By that time, Himiko was still yelling through the phone and Sayuri was lost in thought. This was common in their daily lives. Sayuri was sometimes a bit slow on the uptake. As Himiko was continuing to yell at Sayuri, she raised her voice trying to take some control over this conversation. “Himiko! You’re the one who left me alone! You said you wanted to shop before we leave for university and what do you do? You send me this Hayashi person who tried to hurt me. Instead of yelling at me, yell at Hayashi and tell him to keep away from me. Now we need to plan another meet-up so we can actually shop.” Himiko felt silent to Sayuri’s words and she could hear faint noises from Himiko’s end. Was she crying or did she hang up on her? Sayuri blinked and spoke again. “Himiko? Come on, Himiko. Stop it. I’m not mad at you. Now let’s just plan another meet-up in Shibuya, okay? Just please don’t cry. I hate it when people cry.”

It was a secret weakness of Sayuri to feel horribly bad when people cry. Whenever people cry, all of a sudden she would tear up and eventually start crying as well. She really didn’t know why she was like that but it happens. It’s the reason why she always asks people if they are sad so she would tell them not to cry and everything would be alright. Otherwise, if they do cry in front of her, she would hide her face and leave the room. It was a good thing that she was talking on the phone with Himiko instead of face to face. Sayuri would rather be kept in the unknown rather than facing it. Sayuri continued talking to Himiko, trying to avoid any talk of men and the Hayashi incident.

Time Skip to two weeks: 1:20pm. 'The Kobayashi Residence'

Typing away on her rose-colored keyboard, Sayuri reads her message over again before sending it to Himiko on her computer messaging program. On the screen appeared several lines of Kanji, Hiragana, and Katakana with the accompaniment of emoticons. It was common for Sayuri to use them a lot since it appeared cute and funny to convey emotions. Gently pressing the ‘send button’, Sayuri leaned back against her computer chair and sighed. The holiday month was soon coming to an end and then she would continue learning at a university in Kyoto. She never gave it any thought of what she wanted to do and figured she would find something to do. There wasn’t a thought in Sayuri’s mind about her future because it just never crossed her mind. She looked up at the ceiling, thinking about what she would be good at. Would the medical field fit her? She already turned her nose at that idea. The thought of Sayuri studying day and night with probably no sleep would drive her crazy. Maybe an artist or sculptor would suit her? She chuckled at herself thinking that she couldn’t even draw the human body correctly.

A sudden knock was heard through the door, which spook Sayuri a bit. She glared at the door waiting for any more noises. After a couple seconds the voice of her father broke the silence. “Sayuri, are you there?” Sayuri leaned correctly in her seat and answered back, “Yes. You can come in.” The door opened and appeared her parents with small smiles on their faces. They walked over to Sayuri’s bed and sat down gently. Sayuri followed their movements carefully. It was pretty seldom that her parents entered her room, unless it was really important. She hoped everything was already but as she stared at their faces, they had smiles on their faces. Maybe it was good news?

Sayuri’s father rubbed his thighs and looked at his wife confidently before looking back at Sayuri. “I will get right into it. We know that you decided to go to a university in Kyoto but we discovered a better option for you.” Sayuri slowly straight up, bracing herself for whatever might happen. It was unexpected. She wanted to speak up first but her father continued. “We found a place in South Korea for you to attend. The Beojkkoch Mansion. It would be a nice getaway before you started university. I- We know that you haven’t decided on what you wanted to do in life and while there are several options that we think would be-“ The mother interrupted him by placing her hand on his shoulder. Her mother softly smiled at him, but the father knew that look and sighed. “We want you to discover what you want to do and what better way than to travel to another country and have a learning experience? Sayuri, we already made the arrangement and we think this will be a good time in her your life to do something like this.”

Sayuri slowly formed a confused look on her face. She closed her eyes and replayed everything that was said. Mansion, Korea. Getaway. She really could not believe this, but as she thought about it. A getaway to South Korea sounded nice and she wouldn’t have to go to university right away. Then the negative thoughts seeped in immediately. “I don’t even know the language. How will I survive there? Plus, how could you make an arrangement without talking to me first? I mean, it sounds great so far but South Korea? I don’t know. Would I be the only Japanese citizen there? Can Himiko come with me? If she comes with me then I’ll go. If not I will make her come with me to South Korea. I think she will love it.” Sayuri continued to talked but her father interrupted her which turned into a constant bickering. Her father slowly stood up with Sayuri following his lead. Her mother cooled them out and continued explaining everything in detail. With minutes turning into hours and everyone settling down, it was certain that Sayuri would be traveling to South Korea. Who knows what Kobayashi Sayuri would be expecting?

Time Skip to the arrival at the Mansion : 5:20pm. 'The Beojkkoch Mansion'

“I won’t survive at this place.” The Japanese maiden was lying on the black cushions inside the taxi cab with her Korean language book on her face. She blew at her book in frustration, knowing that she will have a difficult time learning the language. The nerves progressively got worse when she was on the plane. She knew basic and intermediate conversation communication along with some slang terms and common courtesy but she didn’t feel confident enough. At least she felt confident when someone spoke Korean, maybe. She already messed up when she was trying to ask for a taxi. Things just didn’t seem to be going well until she found out that the taxi driver knew Korean and Japanese. There must have been a god looking down at her granting her mercy, she thought.

Sayuri picked the book off of her face and forced herself back to reading more, but the taxi stopped. “Miss Kobayashi, we have arrived.” She was never going to get to someone calling her Miss Kobayashi. She quickly rose up from her seat and looked out the window. She opened the door to get a better view and it amazed her. “SUGOI! THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL!” She could hear the taxi driver laughing as he opened his driver side of his door and started taking out her luggage. She continued to gawk at the enormous mansion. Sayuri never thought she would ever be in a place like this. Never. She had remind herself to call her parents to thank her and sorry for arguing about it. The taxi driver brought her back down to earth by clearing his throat. She slowly turned her head to him and instantly remembered what she needed to do. Sayuri bowed at him and said, “Kamsahamnida…” The taxi driver bowed back to her and gave her a thumbs up on her pronunciation. She handed him the correct amount of money and bowed again before sliding on her backpack on her back, putting her purse on her shoulder, and grabbed her rolling suitcase. She instantly ran towards the mansion in excitement, with bags shaking and hitting her from the back and forth and before she knew it, she was at the door.

She debated whether or not to knock so she placed her ear on the door, listening for any sound. So far, she heard nothing so Sayuri simply opened the door. She continued to open the door wide and once again her jaw found itself back into the same, hanging position. Even the inside was gorgeous but looked expensive and elegant. She was afraid to even sneeze in her, thinking that she might break something or scare someone. Hearing feet moving, she jolted a bit. ‘There is people here? Already?’ She brought her finger towards her mouth, resting her front teeth there. She wasn’t ready for a conversation with people yet, especially with her broken Korean. So hopefully she could go to the nearest room and chill for a bit. Maybe more people were down in this area than upstairs so she grabbed the suitcase and rushed towards the stairs.

All the luggage she had slowed her down, but she knew she wanted to go to the nearest room. When she arrived at the top, she saw a sign that read women’s bedrooms were to the left and men’s to the right. It wasn’t too hard to read so she quickly headed to the left and just entered the first bedroom. She threw her suitcase on the ground and leaned against the door. “Yatta” she said out loud. She looked straight ahead to see that there were two beds in the room. Her eyes widen in realization that she would have room with someone. Thankfully it would be with another woman. ‘Oh well’ she thought. It was better than rooming with a guy. She carried her suitcase to the nearest bed and placed it there, along with her purse and backpack. Sayuri shrugged as she looked at her stuff, thinking she will unpack later. Taking her Korean language book out again, Sayuri walked out of the room and closed the door behind her. She slowly slid down against door and sighed. It was nice and quiet here so she started opening her book again and began memorizing. Time was of the essence so she needed to prepare herself for any type of communication heading her way, even if she didn’t want to.

Kwang Rae-Hyun never stayed in one area too long. He enjoyed the ability to go wherever he could go with no restrictions. He was able to fend for himself and nobody else. Ever since he escaped from college, he was always on his own which he learned to prefer for the most part. Rae-Hyun was a mysterious and aggressive young man who enjoys the surrounding company of women. He would never stay with one woman too long. He thinks, where’s the enjoyment of that? He sees women as beautiful creatures of prey and he was their predator, hungry for their attention and something more. He wasn’t a born natural of this kind of pursuing. Rae-Hyun had to learn, observe, and wait for the right moment. He’s had his share of failures in the past, which he purposely tends to forget. But sometimes the mistakes were there to teach you a lesson. Rae-Hyun was never the aggressive kind. He was the sweet and sensitive man that you could take home to your proud parents. He was very social with everyone and never hesitated to help someone out. As he soon as he arrived at college, he continued to be the same kind-hearted Rae-Hyun that everyone loved. There was a girl that he fell for and she enjoyed playing hard to get, but Rae-Hyun enjoyed the challenge so he pursued her until she gave in. They became a couple soon after and not once did he ever regret being in a relationship.

There were always struggles with relationships and Rae-Hyun thought their love would overcome them, but he found out that it wasn’t the case. During their second year of college, his girlfriend confessed that she cheated on him with one of his close friends. She had admitted that to him when he came to visit her room at the dorms. Devastated by the betrayal, Rae-Hyun became enraged and frustrated with her. He begged to her to say that she was just kidding and that she was just testing him. He continued to ask her why the sudden betrayal, as the anger grew within his heart. The answer that she was able to give that their relationship is boring and the spark of romance just left, but she didn’t want to hurt him. Well, that was an understatement. The arguing had been going on for several minutes then into hours. The shouting had brought attention to residences within the dorm. Rae-Hyun held her and wished that it was all just a nightmare. He didn’t want to face reality of heartbreak. He thought it would never happen to him. She made their relationship final when she pushed him off of him and gave him a disgusted look. He couldn’t believe that everything they had was diminished. He loved her so dearly that he would do anything to make her happy. Seeing her face in disgust and coldness was painful for him to see. It was made very clear that she didn’t want to have anything to do with Rae-Hyun. So he left from the dorms and the campus, and never looked back. It became the turning point in his life in which he would make sure he would never be betrayed by a woman. Screw commitments and love, he didn’t need it anymore.

Rae-Hyun did not keep in contact with his family and close friends after that incident. To him, it would bring back the familiarity of the heartbreak. They would soon find out about it and try to comfort him. He wanted to avoid that. He couldn’t stand it when people felt bad for him. Rae-Hyun didn’t need that in his life. Escaping the familiarity was better for him. He would be a new man with a different perspective on life and women.

He moved to Seoul, where he was able to rent an apartment and find a job. He worked at a joint store which was a bookstore and coffee shop. It was ideal for him because it crawled with women and plus the money was decent, but still was in favor of just gawking at the women. One day, a young woman wandered into the bookstore while Rae-Hyun was on his shift. He greeted her with a warm smile and helped her in any way he can. She nodded her head at him for acknowledgement and went off to browse. Of course he made sure he wasn’t one of those overbearing clerks that hover over you while you browsed. Instead Rae-Hyun waited and watched. As he organized the books on the shelf or greeted another person who entered the store, Rae-Hyun would take a small, friendly glance over at the young woman. Each glance he gave her, the woman noticed him and could see her face changing color. He knew he was getting closer, but not quite there yet. He knew that sometimes you just have to take a risk in order to get what you want.

He noticed that she was still browsing the historical books section and was moving towards the fiction section. Rae-Hyun took some random books off of the counter and began walking to the fiction section. He bent down towards the bottom shelf, while dropping the books beside him and began checking to see if they were in the correct order, but the true objective was to strike a conversation with the woman. He quickly glanced to see if she was heading in this direction but she stopped to stare at a book. She was distracted, but it would make things interesting for Rae-Hyun. While she was reading, he stood up from the ground and walked towards her. He never took his eyes off her as he finally approached her. Rae-Hyun leaned closer to her cheek and whispered, “Is it interesting so far?” He received the normal reaction of her being caught off guard but he reassured her that he meant no harm and comfort her by touching her shoulder. He used the excuse of ‘I don’t know if you are hurt so I’m going to touch you to see if you are okay’ and it worked to his advantage. Rae-Hyun noticed that she was comfortable with him once she nudged herself closer to him. Without realizing it, the woman managed to grip onto Rae-Hyun’s shirt and pulling him. She looked up at him with a desirable look in her eyes that he just couldn’t help but to stare back at her. It was unexpected it but he liked it. He took her hand that was gripping his shirt and started walking her to the back of the store, near the stockroom. Thankfully he had the keys to the room so he unlocked the door, guiding her into the room, closed the door from behind, and letting the fun begin.

That moment became the start of his enjoyment of women. Rae-Hyun found the excitement in pursuing women and enjoying their company. Not all of the women he pursued were like the woman in the bookstore. Some were hard to get because they weren't into him or just stubborn. It didn't stop him that much. He just had to change his methods, especially if the woman in question was interesting enough for him. Yes, he was mainly interested in women that seemed difficult for him to achieve or the ‘playing hard to get’. It was all for the excitement. Sure, there were many times that he failed but he made sure he didn't look like a complete fool. When Rae-Hyun felt like there was no way he could get the woman to submit to him, he would back away from her politely but he would make sure that it would be her loss. To him, it was all just a playful game. From just innocent kissing on the dance floor in the club to making out, or having sex, it was pure pleasure for him. It became his lifestyle for him and he was comfortable with that. It was a choice in life that he did not regret and it made him forget about the past. What he didn't realize though was that he neglected his family and friends. During his time in Seoul, he had forgotten about his parents. At first he was ignoring them because he didn't want to talk about what happened with his ex and it would just bring back unsettling feelings. Now the thought of his parents wasn't on his mind. He was enjoying everything that he had and there wasn't anything else he needed.

                                    ↺ Time Skip to : 9:03am. 'Rae-Hyun's apartment'

Feeling warmth nestling near on his chest, Rae-Hyun moved his hand toward the spot and felt an unfamiliar softness. After blinking a couple of times, Rae-Hyun felt the energy to open his eyes fully. He moaned softly as he turned his head towards his nightstand, curious to see what time he had awaken at. It was a few minutes after nine, but he could have sworn that he had slept longer than that. That nestling feeling came back which made him look in front of him, and there was a sleeping female on his chest. The memories of last night finally stirred his mind. It was blurry but from what he could figure out was that he was out with his friends getting some dinner and noticed a cute waitress who was serving them. She was definitely a cutie. Her name was Yoojin and her shift was about to end, so that’s when Rae-Hyun asked her when she got off of work so they could talk for a bit. He guessed one thing lead to another and now she was here in his bed.

Rae-Hyun smiled down at her and petted her head softly. He enjoyed the small moments like this even though it was temporary. Rae-Hyun heard her inhale sharply before lifting her head up slowly. Yoojin’s short hair was everywhere which made Rae-Hyun chuckle but quickly covered his mouth to suppress the laughter. She turned her head and turned her mouth at him. “Yah, what are you doing?” She reached for his hand and tried to pull it away from his mouth. Rae-Hyun kept his hand steady but had to let go so he could laugh. He gripped her hand and squeezed it gently before letting her go. “Not my fault you have bad bed hair. Don’t worry, I think it suits you.” Yoojin lifted her hands to touch her hair and pouted. She whined, “Oppa…” before she started crawling out of bed. Rae-Hyun tried to reach out to her so he could pull her back in the bed, but she was already walking around trying to find it. He scoffed as he laid back into the bed. “I said it suits you. Trust me. Oh, and the bathroom is straight ahead, then turn right.” Yoojin took his directions and yelled, “I don’t think it suits me! You’ll probably mess it up again!” Rae-Hyun chuckled and thought ‘Hence why I wanted you back in the bed. Oh well.’

He finally pulled the covers off of him and walked around his bed to find his pants. Once he found them, he walked towards the direction of the kitchen and stretched his arms over his head. He dropped his arms to his side as he continued to walk towards the refrigerator. Opening the door to see what he could eat, he turned his nose at every option. He was hungry but he didn’t feel like making anything. As he closed the door, he felt arms wrapping themselves around his waist. A giggle came out of nowhere as he lifted his arms up to turn his torso and noticed Yoojin smiled from below. As cute as that was, Rae-Hyun ignored her smile and looked away from her. A frown appeared on Yoojin’s face when Rae-Hyun gave her the cold shoulder. “What’s wrong?” Rae-Hyun shrugged his shoulders and sighed. “Nah, it’s nothing. Just still a little tired and hungry.” Yoojin dropped her arms from Rae-Hyun’s waist and walked right in front of him. She smiled cheerfully with a statement. “How about I cook something for you?” Rae-Hyun raised his eyebrows at her request. There was no way he was turning that down. Raising his hand to Yoojin’s cheek, he smiled at her rubbing his thumb gently on her cheek. “That’s sweet of you.” He could already feel the heat emitting from Yoojin’s cheek, letting him know she liked that. He dropped his hand and walked towards his counter where he sat on top of and watched Yoojin. He knew that she was starting to make herself way too comfortable but at this moment, he let it slide. At least he let her know beforehand that this wasn’t going to lead into a permanent thing. Hopefully she still remembered.

Yoojin headed over to the refrigerator where she opened the door and looked around the area. “Wow…you really don’t have a whole lot do you?” Rae-Hyun scratched his head and looked at the cabinets near him. “Well I got stuff in the upper and lower cabinets.” Yoojin looked up at Rae-Hyun with a questioning expression on her as she closed the fridge door. He chuckled at her expression as he reached out and opened the upper cabinet with ease. From the corner of Yoojin’s eye, she saw a note on the fridge door. Reading carefully her eyes widen and then looked back Rae-Hyun. She ripped it off the door and rushed towards Rae-Hyun. “Oppa! You’re going to the Beojkkoch Mansion?! How did you get this?” Rae-Hyun furrowed his eyebrows at her when he noticed her being way too nosey. He snatched the paper away from her and stared at it before giving it back to her.

Rae-Hyun remembered that he got it in the mail a couple of weeks ago and he was still pondering about it. He heard about that mansion through the grapevine and it was some sort of love mansion or what not. He was curious as to who it was sent from. Maybe he was randomly picked. It already got his attention that it was a mansion so it was going to be crawling with women that he probably never met before. So he would play along with this ‘love mansion’ thing or whatever. It might prove to be an interesting time. He looked back at Yoojin with a small smile.

“I might. It seemed interesting enough.” At least he hope so if not he would make sure it would be interesting.”

↺ Time Skip to : 5:41pm. 'The Beojkkoch Mansion'

It didn’t hit him until he actually arrived in front of the mansion that Rae-Hyun would actually be staying here. He glanced around the area a couple more time before walking towards the mansion. ‘Damn’ he thought. He was going to have one heck of a time here. He could tell that this place was expensive and enormous. He would mind living in place like this instead of his apartment. As he got closer, his excitement rose and it couldn’t wait to see how beautiful the inside of the place was. Giving one more grunt of his luggage on his shoulder, he opened the door and entered the mansion.

With his back, Rae-Hyun pushed the door closed and let his wandering eyes travel around the area. While there were already a few people inside, he enjoyed the atmosphere so far. It seemed relaxing, but it made him wonder what kind of people who be living in the mansion along with him. Or how many would be here. As lean away from the door, Rae-Hyun continued to look around the place as he walked towards the stairs. Before he could reach the top of the stairs, he already saw one young lady who was reading a book. He raised an eyebrow and wondered how many ladies already arrived. Rae-Hyun noticed her glancing up then quickly back down, covering her face with the book. He chuckled at her gestures as he faced the other direction, towards the men’s bedrooms. Rae-Hyun could tell that this was going to be a fun experience. The shy girl seemed adorable from what he could see.

Paying attention to the doors, he stopped at the seventh door and touched it. He turned his lips before opening the door and his expression changed when he saw the bedroom. This room was definitely his style. It had one large bed, which was perfect for him, a window that had a great view, and simple beige and cream colored walls. As he walked into the room, Rae-Hyun dropped his luggage and headed on towards the bed. He sat on the bed softly, trying to see how comfortable it was. He sighed deeply as he leaned back and sank into the bed. ‘This is perfect.’ So far, everything seemed great. He felt like he made a wise decision in coming to this mansion. Rae-Hyun figured that there was a lot more to this house than just the bedrooms. So he rose up from the bed and walked out of the room as he closed the door behind him. He walked down the stairs as he continued to look around the area. He noticed that he entered the living room with someone already in here. Young lady number two. Eventually he will learn their names, until then it was time for him to make introductions. Rae-Hyun looked around before sitting on one of the seats across the young woman. He smiled at her and waved his fingers at her. “How’s it going? I’m Kwang Rae-Hyun and you are…?”

‘Hwang Kae Lee, huh? I need to remember that name.’ Rae-Hyun acknowledged her introduction by bowing his head as well. Thoughts were already entered Rae-Hyun’s mind but he knew better than that. It was only the first day so he would take it easy for now. So far there were more males in the mansion than females from what he seen. He couldn’t determine if more females were already entering the mansion at this moment. It could be a matter of time but for now he was going to enjoy the small company of Kae Lee. He never took his eyes off her as he was trying to figure out what kind of lady Kae Lee was. She appeared to look adorable and sweet on the eyes. Her voice was comfortable to listen to. It wasn't too loud nor too soft. She seemed to be confident and perky which was entertaining to see. After seeing the young woman who was upstairs hiding her face in a book, it was nice to see a difference between her and Kae Lee. Her pigtails gave her the ‘sweet young girl’ appearance. It was not what he would particularly go for but who knows? It was only their first meeting. Rae-Hyun was in no rush. His impatience did not run wild yet so it was good so far. He leaned back into the seat and hearing Kae Lee clearing her throat, Rae-Hyun raised his eyebrow as he listened to her.

"Hey, why are there so many attractive males in this mansion? Do you know? Did they only pick attractive males to screw with my head?" Rae-Hyun couldn’t help but to chuckle at her questions. He raised his hand towards his mouth and tried to keep a straight face. He dropped his hand away from him and looked back at Kae Lee, who seemed embarrassed by what she said. Sure it was an unexpected question, but it was amusing to see how forwarded she was. It seemed to be… cute? Nevertheless, Rae-Hyun straightens the collar on his shirt followed by leaning his torso forward and clasping his hands. His adjustments revealed more of his upper chest, but he paid no mind to it. He turned his head back facing Kae Lee, giving her a warm smile. “Heh, who knows? It could be the same reason that they’re attractive females like you in this mansion. Maybe they are trying to mess with my head as well.” He honestly wasn’t interested in how attractive the other males were, but could understand her how she felt. Rae-Hyun tried not to think about it as much because it would distract him from his true motives. He wasn’t going to let other attractive men stop him from getting what he wants. Rae-Hyun remained always remained civil when it came to competition. He sees it as another obstacle in his pursuing which makes it exciting for him. So far he could remember seeing a few males when he arrived in the mansion, including one that was currently in the same room as him and Kae Lee. Rae-Hyun glanced at him for a bit, before turning his attention back to Kae Lee. He seemed to pay no mind to them as he was focused on his iPad and nothing else. He founded it a bit interesting that he didn’t bother to join their conversation but Rae-Hyun ignored the thought and figured it was that guy’s loss.

Hopefully he would run into more engaging males but for the time being, Rae-Hyun can deal with this. Bringing himself back into the conversation, Rae-Hyun felt that he wanted to get to know Kae Lee more and see what he’s dealing with. Continuing with keeping his eye contact with her, he spoke confidently to Kae Lee. “Well tell me, what do you hope to do during your stay at this mansion? Or better yet, how about we explore as we talk?” Rae-Hyun slowly stood up from his seat, slipping his hands inside his pockets of his pants. He thought it would be a better idea to explore rather than just sit around and talk. Rae-Hyun arched his eyebrow, waiting for an answer. “Come on, I promise I won’t bite.” He smiled at her, reassuring his friendliness to Kae Lee.

                                        ‘….much’
was his last thought before he slowly started to walk backwards, away from his seat.

It was difficult to block out the people that were entering the mansion constantly. Sayuri could hardly concentrate on practicing her Korean, but it was her decision to sit outside of her bedroom door. Sometimes Sayuri wonders how her thought process works. She turned her lip to the left, figuring out if she had brought any music with her. She continued to make weird, thinking faces until someone caught her attention. It was a man that she was not familiar with at all and he stared right back at her. ‘Dame. Please don’t walk this way. Please…’ Sayuri quickly raised her language book over her face and closed her eyes tightly, waiting for him to walk away from her. After a few seconds, Sayuri brought her book back down to her face and took a sigh of relief. She knew that she couldn’t hide forever. Eventually she would have to talk to some of these people. It would help a tad bit if there was another person who was Japanese but so far, there had been none. She was only on the bedroom floors which was only one part of this whole mansion. So maybe there could be a nice for her to run into someone who was Japanese. It would be a nice break before she could use her Korean on the majority of people who were here. She looked back down at her language book and spoke softly. “It’s now or never, language book-chan. Wish me luck.” She closed her book and quickly stood up.

After straightening her skirt and sweater out from her sitting on the ground, Sayuri looked around the area and figured out where she could go next. She walked towards the stairs, but stopped abruptly. She tilted her head to hear what was going on down there. From where she was, Sayuri couldn’t hear much but there was some commotion. A mixture of talking and shouting was all she could hear. She bet that there were a lot of people here already. Were there going to be more people? Just how many people were going to be living here? The questions came after one another, giving Sayuri an early start of a headache. She clinched her language book tighter as she felt her nerves rising up. It was unsettling. Her worries was getting the best of her again so to prevent that, she decided to walk a different direction which lead her to an area of the mansion that she was unfamiliar with. The least thing she wanted to do was get lost in this place. She underestimated the size of this mansion. The inside of this place was just as big as the outside. This was just one big maze that Sayuri wasn’t ready to conquer just yet. Just ahead of her, she saw someone walking towards her direction. It was a young woman who she assumed was staying here. She was also looking around the mansion. She kept her book close to her chest before turning her back around. Her mind was instantly blanking out everything she had learned. ‘Come on, Sayuri. You studied hard for this. Now it’s just a test.’ She opened her language book, quickly flipping through the page and hoping everything will come back to her. She slammed her book closed and turned back around in the direction of the woman. She took a deep breath and tried to relax instead of panicking.

Sayuri walked towards the woman who was already staring at her. She bowed at her followed by a smile. There was a brief silence between them so Sayuri guessed that this was the time to talk. ‘Speak already, baka.’ Everything was slowly coming back to her as soon as she opened her mouth. “Sumimasen, I mean! ..Annyeonghaseyo…umm..I’m Kobayashi Sayuri. Nice to meet you.” So far so good. Sayuri frowned at first but then started to feel a bit confident that she got the introduction down right. She quickly ignored that she spoke Japanese for that first part, but at least the rest of the words came out smoothly. What else could she say? “Umm…how long have you been here... in the mansion?” Sayuri already felt a weight being lifted off her shoulders. She couldn’t help but to keep smiling at her efforts. Hopefully the young woman didn’t catch her mistakes…

‘Well today is the day. Moving day. I’m not sure whether to be excited or nervous. Why should I be nervous about this? Why am I letting this bother me?' It was as if the young Jang Sunjung’s mind would not give her a break. Several thoughts were attacking her mind causing her to have another headache. Usually the thoughts of her assignments in the writing department would give her more stress, but at least it was work that she knew she could finish with no worries at all. This was a completely different feeling she was encountering. The anxious and unexpected feeling that settled in Sunjung’s mind wouldn’t go away. It actually grew more as the car continued to drive to their destination: The house that Sunjung and her fiancé, Im Jae Hyun would be living in together. It has been settled several years ago that Sunjung and Jae Hyun were to be married, a plan thought up by their parents. They weren’t the only ones affected by the sudden arrangement. Several individuals that Sunjung knew previously were paired up for an arranged marriage as well. What was Sunjung’s reaction to all of this? Distraught and disgusted by the fact that her parents did this to her. She realized that she shouldn’t be surprised by this. Her parents seemed like the type to arrange this type of deal behind her back. But that wasn’t the big shocker.

When Sunjung discovered that the man she was going to be married to was her childhood friend, Jae Hyun, her thought process changed. Jae Hyun was her best friend, her sidekick, and her heart. He was always there for her and stayed by her side no matter what. Even after the personal change she went through when she was a teenager and how much people viewed her, Jae Hyun was still there. With how much of a hassle Sunjung was to herself and others around her, Jae Hyun never judged her. Through all of those moments, she realized that she avoid her true feelings way too long. Sunjung truly loved him. It was without a doubt in her mind. Just the thought of Jae Hyun would bring a smile upon her face. Some people would think that Jae Hyun is too clumsy or shy to be with someone like Sunjung but she would laugh it off because Jae Hyun is Jae Hyun. She honestly wouldn’t want anything about him to change. Sure, he was a bit clumsy but that’s only a small part of the whole package. Sunjung knew him best, that's for sure.

The anxious feeling started to rise as more thoughts about Jae Hyun entered her mind. Her eyes glanced at the car window, wondering how far they had until they reached her new home. Sitting in the driver and passenger's side were her parents and they were discussing about the company business along with the marriage. Speaking about how important this marriage is to the family and the company and how Sunjung will grow into a stronger influence for people around her. Of course, her mother would to make small remarks about how a wife should act and at this point, Sunjung just nodded her head as if she was actually listening to them. Sunjung had already tuned them out because she was tired of hearing the same situation over and over again. She was well aware of what was to be expected from her and yet her parents continue to nag her about it. She understood that they meant well and were just doing their job as parents, but it didn't mean Sunjung had to like it. Sunjung finally discovered another plus with living with Jae Hyun: she wouldn't have the dark cloud of her parents hovering over her. She wouldn't dare speak like that to her parents, but it was tempting.

Noticing that the car was slowing down, it brought back Sunjung's awareness causing her to dart her eyes around the area. She looked away from the window to grab her purse and started looking for her compact mirror. Her appearance was probably fine but she wanted to double check. As soon as she found her compact, Sunjung quickly flipped it up and checked her front and side profiles. She nodded her head in agreement of how she looked, closed it, and placed it back in her purse. Her mother turned her head around to find Sunjung already preparing to depart. She formed a small smile for her daughter, watching her."We have arrived... and I see you are ready to leave." Sunjung faced her mother's eye sight and noticed her mood changed. It was her facial expression that gave it away. She was smiling but there was a hint of sadness showing. As much as they bicker at each other, she knew that her mother loved her dearly.

Sunjung smiled back at her, reaching out her hand to touch her mother's shoulder. "I'll be fine. Trust me." For once, her mother didn't have anything to say. All she could do was smile and nod her head. Her father smiled at both of his ladies and exited the car, heading to the trunk where Sunjung's personal stuff was kept. Sunjung leaned her body towards her mother, giving her a kiss on the cheek. Her mother continued smiling without saying a word. Sunjung grabbed her purse, opened her side of the door and exited the car. She didn't realize how much her mother hated goodbyes until this moment. It wasn't like she was going to another country. She was still in driving distance, but she wouldn't be living with them. That could be the reason. Sunjung sighed softly as her father appeared in her front of her with her luggage. He pointed to the moving van that suddenly pulled up. "They arrived just in time." He looked back at his little girl, smiling down at her. Raising her arms wide, Sunjung walked close to her father, giving him a hug. He held her tightly and patted her back. "Enjoy your time here. We hope that in the end, this will be for the best." Sunjung acknowledged his words with a "mmhm."She didn't want to give him a direct answer at this point. It was too soon to tell.

After the hug, Sunjung grabbed her luggage and started at her new home. She took a deep breath and exhaled. "Well here we go, Sunny...try not to show how nervous you are." Making her way towards the front door of the house, she realized that the door wasn't completely closed. Raising her eyebrow in wonder, Sunjung continued walking towards the door. Pushing it all the way opened, she stood there before entering. 'Where is Jae Hyun?', she thought. Sunjung shrugged her shoulders and entered the house. "Jae Hyun-oppa. Are you here?" As soon as she spoke, he appeared from the corner of her eye. She immediately smiled at him at his arrival. His entrance was not the most graceful, but she expected no less than that. That anxious feeling was slowly going away now she was face to face with Jae Hyun. His appearance was refreshing to see.

Brushing a few hair strains out of her face, Sunjung bowed at Jae Hyun before walking into the room while pulling her luggage. "Umm, there's a van out there with a majority of the items I've brought. I can come back and help you when I take my stuff to the bedroom." It seemed as if the anxious feeling that Sunjung had was replaced with a nervous feeling. It was difficult to keep her eyes off of Jae Hyun. She was just so excited to see him, but she had a funny way of showing it. She walked off towards a hallway filled with semi empty rooms. Sunjung finally discovered the bedrooms and sighed. She walked towards the neatly covered bed and dropped her luggage on the ground. She stretched her arms towards the ceiling and let out a small moan. Dropping her hands back down, Sunjung walked around the room, staring at the two beds followed by the dresser and a nearby window. She rubbed her arm up and down as she walked around the room, thinking about how she and Jae Hyun were going to spend the days together. She knows she'll probably be working half of the time. Instantly she remembered that she offered to help Jae Hyun with her boxes. Sunjung tapped her forehead with her hand as she rushed out of the bedroom and headed back to the entrance of the house to help her fiance.
