Others see me like this. Overall, Aki is portrayed as a petite girl - standing short at five foot three. She doesn't weight herself often, but knows she's well over one hundred and five pounds. Her light brown hair is a natural, so most people find her hair to be rather beautiful, for it doesn't feel hoarse or look dead from continuous hair dye. There really isn't anything special about her haircut; it's cut at her shoulder-length with fringed banged that rest over her eyes, completely shadowing her forehead and eyebrows (this way, all you can focus on are her eyes). Her eyes are her biggest head-turner. They seem like they have a depth to them, like she's thinking of something you don't want her to think of. They are not like the big round eyes you see on the cutesy girls. Aki's eyes are almond shaped, although not enough to be called "squinty." Her eye color, green, lead to many questions of her heritage. She doesn't like to speak of her family much, so that's where all the questions come from. People have decided that her Aki's green eyes come from either an English mother or father (Aki curses on people's nosy-ness).
Aki's fashion sense is ... reasonable. She isn't up-to-date with today's fashion, but she isn't completely hopeless. Her favorite piece of clothing are jeans, because when she's working on an invention, they don't get in the way like skirts would. But that doesn't mean Aki doesn't like girl-ing up a bit on weekends. She doesn't show-off her change in wardrobe, but tries to see if anyone would notice anyway. Aki is pierce-free, nor does she have any tattoos because she refuses to let any needle near her skin.

Ever since she was little, Aki's always been curious. Her curiosity shaped her creativity. Aki still holds her old one hundred and fifty paged, scribbled-all-over-the-cover notebook near her heart. She swore, when she was young, that she'd make all her inventions in her book (so far, she's done around a dozen or two). Aki's created gloves that make you stick to the wall so you can scale it (she blames Spiderman); socks that make you run twice as fast as normal; automatic fish feeders, because she always forgets to feed her goldfish. But her creativity hasn't just helped her with her everyday life, but her studies also. She found a way to "trick her mind into studying without it knowing it's actually studying, if that makes any sense." Yeah, we're still trying to figure that one out...

A million things fly through Aki's mind, always. Even though she lacks an attention span which lasts more than ten minutes, which leads to make her grade suffer, her studies excel. Aki's mind works like a machine, the gears always running smoothly. She knows a lot more than children her age normally do. Sometimes, she does tend to give out some reasonably good advice, but she prefers not to; being the quieter one of the twins. She tries to understand that some people don't "get it" as quickly as she does. Though she doesn't have one of the shortest fuses, you definitely do not want to be caught in that crossfire when it goes off. Her way of knowing things has fueled her confidence so she doesn't follow trends like a mindless zombie. Her confidence also takes her a little further. She considers herself to be a straight-shooter, but the truth is that she can be very blunt. Of course, Aki has no intention of hurting people with words, but she simply can't help it sometimes.

What most people don't know about Aki is that she isn't just a bookworm, or gear-geek, like what most people think of students from the Technical class who are known for their skills in the research field. She does perform one activity that would leave all jaws dropped open. The fact is that Aki does love machines of all kind. If it has an engine, Aki would love to research it. And after a day's work, she can take it completely apart and put it back together. And by machines, this does include motorbikes. Although the Technical class is mostly a research class, Aki does take her projects very seriously. She actually gets into riding the machines she's built as a test. It's a big risk, she knows, but Aki has confidence in her creations. Her very first ridden transportation vehicle wasn't the bike she built herself, or roller blades, or anything ordinary -- she first learned how to motocross before all of that.
Aki likes the feeling of adrenaline and the sound of blood pounding in her ears. It's not often Aki gets to get that feeling. Her life does revolve around school, the most exciting thing you can get to is gossip, and Aki doesn't listen to that. Of course, all the cool kids try to pick on her by sending some handsome student to flirt their way to get some information or just to mess around with her. Aki is not dim, though. She doesn't like being belittled or teased, especially since she's on the short side, so she does have her fair share of revenge. She's created little chips to stash in their alarm clocks to ring at it's loudest and go beyond it's range by identifying the intensity of screams to get back. But pranking isn't her thing, and she rarely finds the need to such extents. It's funny how things are not always how they seem -- like Aki; she has a completely shut door (over flooded with locks and chained up with beware signs set up all around it and a watch dog -- well, you get it). She's probably kept twice as many secrets as she's spilled to anyone. Many people see her as a bookworm-y, gear-geek who always seems to have something on her mind. But strangely enough, she's more of a dare-devil than shy.

She has the guts, she has the looks, she has the confidence: Aki could be very popular. But, for some reason, Aki passed it. She believes she'd be better off without it. Sure, everyone would fall head-over-heels over the super-cool fact that she motocrosses, but Aki doesn't feel right coming out of her shell. The fact that she transforms into an owl when she hugs a member of the opposite sex doesn't concern her either. In fact, it's thanks to that that she's as knowledgeable as she is. The only people she'll probably open up to are her twin and the others in the Riyouza family.

Here's my story.
On September 21st at 5:26pm, a girl named Aki came into the world. A few minutes after her sister, Hanako. Indeed, Aki was a twin - the younger twin, no less. Of course in the beginning, the god(dess) was yet to be born and thus everything was perfectly fine when their father held the twins. Their father was an engineer and mechanic, and their mother was a respected businesswoman. Due to the fact that no one had any idea about the curse, the family lead a perfectly normal life.
As the twins grew up, Aki discovered a great many things about her twin. Not only was Hanako taller than her ( by a whole six inches! ), but her sister had inherited all the social skills, as well as sporting abilities, and a many other things. The only personality traits Aki received was her father's skill with anything mechanical or technical, and her vast amount of knowledge. And perhaps her curiosity. Not that it mattered much. Aki always seemed to come second to her twin anyhow. Though she didn't mind. She sort of . . lived in Hanako's shadow for the majority of her childhood; taking note of everything about her twin and what she did.
Of course, this included the incident which occurred when they were seven.
The fact that Hanako transformed into an owl when hugged by a member of the opposite sex caused a change in their mother. She suddenly became overprotective of her daughter; restricting their once-carefree life. Their father had no idea about the incident - his head simply filled with mechanics to notice anything 'wrong' with his children. Watching her sister turn into an owl was something which was oh - so - very interesting to Aki. It'd never happened before, so why did it happen now? She was eager to try it out for herself, for sure. One day, when she went out on one of her walks, Aki immediately headed for the nearest male being and hugged them. To her delight, she too transformed into an owl. Oh, how wonderful! It was just like a dream. All kids want to have superpowers at some point in their lives, right? Well Aki actually had superpowers. Sort of. She could transform into an owl, and most likely fly whilst in her owl form. It was close enough to being supernatural.
Though she mentioned nothing of her ability to turn into an owl just like Hanako to her parents, she was shipped off to an all girls school along with her twin. At the start, going to an all girls school was sort of saddening, as Aki couldn't show off her ability. It would have either made her really popular, or make them shun her for life as a 'freak'. Either way, it didn't matter now. So Aki sort of . . stopped caring about her curse; focusing on her love of mechanics instead. During her schooling career, Aki could have been popular. But she chose not to be. After all, Hanako was popular enough for the both of them - being labeled the 'prince of the school'.
As the years passed, Aki sort of drifted away from her sister; emerging from Hanako's shadow and becoming independent. She moved out from her house; choosing to live in the main estate instead. It was closer to college, and you had maids there to suit your every need. It was pretty much perfect. However, Aki would still do anything for her twin. Besides. Twins are meant to have a special 'bond', aren't they? A bond stronger than anything between a God and his Zodiac.
