writing response to the given prompt:
Thinking back, Odette realized that her course of action was possibly not the best choice she could have chosen, but under the circumstances and personal choices this seemed like all she could do.

It seemed like the chase had been going on for hours, but really it less than even one. Ode wasn't looking for conflict nor information, or on any sort of mission for that matter. This was her own time, time that wasn't meant to be spent running from the fifth-ranking Opera member. All she was doing after all was just weaving through hundreds of pedestrians, on one of the more popular walkways, and having a nice walk to clear her mind. It was peaceful, tranquil, and even though the heat was intense due to all the body masses, Odette felt surprisingly chilled. It could have been from the possible winds that blew back her white bangs, but that's not what she was focusing on at all. In fact in one were to pry Ode's mind open they'd find it filled with nothing; nothing as in the serene silence that she had always yearned for. What was in her mind and what was going on around her though seemed to be two very different things. Beneath the surface of excitement and luxury around her, the sense of terror was arising in everyone's mind because of this so called terrorist group called "Adage". A rumor of course, but people would eat anything that the government and press put out. Placing her clever, but worn, hands in her pocket, Ode was enjoying the peaceful setting in her mind when her eyes stopped her dead in her tracks. Her feet stopped as well, and from this small transaction the busy people around seemed to clash into her, as if she was a mighty tree log that was clogging a flowing river. Odette would never consider herself this mighty and destructive power, but the severity of the issue before her was similar to that. Up the street it was unmistakable to her eyes that she had seen the fifth ranking team member of a team she once was a member of, Opera. If she had decided to keep walking then she could have possible thought of a better plan, but her own body denied her and caused a small, but still enough to cause attention, scene. It wasn't anything big, just a bunch of people yelling at her to move or get out of the way, and the likes. That's all it took though. Just a couple of loud gruff voices to catch his attention. He didn't seem to be doing anything, and neither she, but a confrontation was unavoidable. Their eyes met, and Odette sucked in some breath while pulling down her hat, muttering apologies, and crossed through the stream of people to the nearest alley way she could get to. It didn't take a genius to figure out that was following her as well.

Brisk paces, but do not run.
She told herself as she neared the path. Starting a scene would usually be advised if it were something where they needed chaos as a cover due to injuries, a plan gone wrong and a quick escape, and such, but with just her and him it wasn't necessary, and if anything would give the excuse for back up. That would be foolish. She could run all she liked once away from most of the people, but not a moment soon. Once she made it to the opening her eyes focused on her peripherals to see his scarlet hair coming closer like a red target dot approaching her heart. Odette slipped into the alleyway, went a few steps then jerked to the right, then left, taking the left fork in the path, and then she began to run. Her heart beating steadily as she tried to appear as though she was running from a hurry and not from a chase. Sunshine leaked through various parts of the city, Y'vaire, as Ode ran through them. After running for some time, Odette quickly ran into one of the buildings. It was quite beautiful, although empty and changed from time, inside, but right now she needed a place to hide. Even for that small moment to catch her breath, she could hear him coming now. Quickly, she began to run up the nearest stair case, spiraling up and up. She forced open a door, and as she did so she could hear him in the building. A window! Odette ran to it and pushed it open climbed out onto the poorly spaced ledge. Her shoes scuffed as she began to find another window open. It was slow work, but she made it fast as sweat came dripping out of her hat as she tried not to fall. In her mind she wondered if it was really this bad to avoid confrontation. Alas, as window was opened. She had just enough time to enter it, shut the windows and back into the shadow of the room. Scuffing outside alerted her that he was outside. Carefully, she backed away, her shoes practically gliding against the floor. He was passing by her window and she froze, not breathing at all, her foot hovering in an awkward position.

She stayed perfectly still, as his entire body was over the window. The tension in her foot was unforgivable, and the stiffness in her calf would be more than anyone else to bear, but she bit the bullet and took it. As his body scaled away from the window, Ode began to lower her foot down and let it gently fall against the floor.

Creeeeeeeeeeak

"s**t!" She hissed as she began to run. That creak was loud enough for someone like him to hear. She ran down the stairs, skipping the last few, and once at the bottom of the stairs, she could hear him coming back in. Out of the building she ran and ran not remembering where she was going. There was a small crack that she had noticed, and took to it, wedging her slim body inside of it, pulling her hat down, and holding her breath, counting the seconds until he would pass. The footsteps were coming, louder and louder. If he could hear her heart beating he'd find her. Closing her eyes, Odette was stern with herself and calmed her self. Almost as if it was nothing, he passed by the crack and kept running. Ode counted to three very slowly, and began to relax her muscles. Her body scooted out of the crack, and she squinted to see him far away now.

"Another time, another place, and another person," she muttered as began the long trek back, he mood completely spoiled, and feeling no sense of a victory at all.
notes you feel we need to know: Errr... well I hope that was well enough, and I hope I didn't make too many mistakes with the town and its architecture and such. I also hope I wasn't G-modding in there. >__> I really hope I didn't eff this up. Also I'm not perfect, I'm a poor college student who probably needs to get a full time job over the summer, so if there are just some days where I can't post, then Imma say so, 'cause if I try to force one out, it's gunna be poop. ._____.

One would think that a country kid from Kansas would be slow and dreary, but that's the complete opposite of Ben. As an only child you'd also think that he'd be spoiled rotten, but that's also not the case. Instead you get Ben, a kid with a need for speed. He was raised right, as the polite and humble southerner, but there was something about that small town that he grew up in that made him craving more. Ben became a speed racer behind the wheel, which was fine at first when it was off in the back roads and at a moderate speed, until it grew to where he was on the main roads with other friends in the car. Then came the accident which almost cost him his life and others, and lost him his license. After the incident Ben's mom wanted him away for awhile to stay away from any influences that might cause him to get behind the wheel of a car again. She sent him to live with her sister down in Florida along with his cousin. Ivy, Ben's cousin, welcome him and gave him the idea to start with a new slate and join The Prowl with her since he was new and needed a place to fit in anyways. Since he just transferred in this year it's no wonder why he's just stuck with the job of staff writer, not that he complains; Ivy's the one with the real passion for the paper. Not that Ben dislikes The Prowl, in fact he's quite happy in there. It takes a lot to make Ben dislike something or someone because of how cheerful he usually is.

It's such a strange name to be placed with this girl, but it's what her mother wanted. Ivy's mother is on the eccentric side and got a little carried away in college and ended up with Ivy, but not once did her mother think about giving her away or the alternative. Ivy's mother was mature enough at least to realize the old boyfriend wasn't going to cut it so she raised Ivy by herself until she met her current husband. Ivy lives with her step-father, mother, and her two younger sisters that she practically takes care of, but with no ill feelings on her side. Ivy's mother is just usually busy in her art studio and her step-father is out earning the real money. Things were going smoothly until she reached high school and she decided it was time to start heading towards the future, which is why she started creative writing, and through this she discovered The Prowl. Of course her motive for staying is something only known to her, but she claims it's for her passion of the written word. It was only this past summer when Ivy's mother received a distressing call from her older sister pleading for them to please take Ben for at least a year. Her mother was only happy to take care of him, and it was up to Ivy to get close to Ben and introduce him to the school, so she did it the only way she knew how - by getting him to join The Prowl.

The stage was completely empty as was the audience. The lights were burning and brighter than they should have been. Could that have been someone in that seat, row D seat 17? Ivy lifted a hand to her eyebrows and squinted trying to see who was out there. Her foot steps pierced the silence as she edged the drop off of the stage. Who was that? BZZT BZZZT BZZT BZZZT! Brown eye lashes fluttered as Ivy began to wake up. It only took a couple of seconds for her to reach out to click the off button on her alarm and sit up giving a lazy yawn. She stayed upright for a few moments trying to wake up and adjust her eyes to the room. Six am wasn't always easy to wake up to, but it's only shy about half a hour from when she usually wakes up due to her sisters. Stretching for a final time, Ivy slid out of her bed and grabbed her bathrobe. She swiftly let her room and completely bypassed Ben's room because she knew very well there would be no point in attempting to wake him up because he'd just go to sleep again. Carefully, she tip-toed past her sisters' joint room and resumed at her usual pace once she passed her parent's room because her mother wouldn't wake up even if there was an earth-quake and she could already hear her step-father in the kitchen. Rubbing her eyes clean of any sleepy dust, she descended the stairs to the kitchen to find her step-father rinsing out his coffee cup. Once he finished washing it he turned to see that Ivy had entered the kitchen a little earlier than she usually did.

"What's the occasion?" He asked with a smile as he placed his up down.

"Didn't you hear? I'm actually the queen of Spain, and today's my coronation. Nah, I'm just messin' with you Greg. Today's the day The Prowl's staff leaves to Orlando. I wrote it down," Ivy nodded to the calender not too far from his head,"on the calender. Although, it's kind of squished between Bekii's and Elle's dance recitals."

Greg chuckled as he squinted at the calender. "Well, yeah, here it is. Ben's going too?"

"Naturally. That is if I can wake him up. Which I probably should get going on soon. First I have to see what I'm going to make for the girls to eat though," Ivy said as she opened the fridge and leaned back taking a gander at what was inside.

Greg gave a smile as he grabbed his suitcase. "You know, your mother and I really do appreciate the way you take care of the girls."

Ivy lifted her head from the fridge to return the sweet smile, "Of course. Now you should get going, you've got that meeting for this morning don't you?"

He nodded and waved good bye and second later the click from the door shutting was heard and Ivy had made her decision on what to cook later. For now though she had to rush up stairs and hop in that shower. With a skip over some of the girl's trinkets abandoned on the floor, Ivy was up the stairs again and headed to the bathroom. There was still no sense in waking up Ben; she decided she'd do it after her shower. Ivy spent a reasonable amount of time in the shower, and along with bathing, spending the time to sing to her heart's content. It's in these rare moments that she even has to chance to sing without being a bother. It's not that she's embarrassed of her voice, it's just that she really means it when it's just average. Not horrible, just not note worthy at all. About twenty minutes later Ivy was stepping out of the shower and continuing with her morning retinue. When she finished she left the bathroom to her room to check on her bags. Glancing over at the clock though she saw it was 6:43 already and definitely time to wake up Ben. Ivy gave the initial knock on the door and to no surprise heard no sign of life so she opened the door. She noted his bags that were half stuffed with clothes and random things, and no where near acceptable. Sighing, she approached his bed where he was laying on his stomach and his hair spraying out from certain spots. At least he wasn't drooling or snoring, his horrible posture made up for it though.

"Okay Ben, time to wake up."

Ivy gently placed her hand on his bare shoulder and shook him until she heard some groans.

"G'morning mom," Ben chuckled as a hand lazily clutched his face.

"Good morning to you too Ben. Now hurry and get up, we've got to be in our seats at school in a hour."

He nodded to confirm he heard what she said, but he was still laying in his bed. Ivy rolled her eyes and gave one last note at the door.

"I'm making bacon and pancakes for breakfast."

And with that Ben was shoving the blankets off of him and rush past Ivy to the restroom. Ivy had to stifle her laughs in case she woke up her sisters. She was about to leave Ben's room, but she took one more look at Ben's bags and tutted her tongue as she strode over to them and began taking out everything he clumsily stuffed in there. It only took a couple of moments for Ivy to organize Ben's bags and zip with them up with a content smile. Checking her watch though she realized it was already time to wake up the girls so they could make it to their practice. Rushing out Ben's room, she almost collided with the girls' room and knocked upon the door to hear them quickly getting up. It was good to know that at least someone responded to the knock on the door. Now it was time for the next challenge of waking up her mother. Ivy didn't bother to knock on the door for her mother though because to wake her mother up it required one thing only. She entered the room and went straight to the curtains behind her mother's bed head and drew them away from each other, bringing out the light onto her mom's face, and then lifted the windows to let some breeze in.

"Is it that time already?" her mother chimed with her eyes still closed.

"Yup, and you better start getting ready. The girls are already up, and I've got to go make the breakfast."

With that Ivy quickly left, losing the fear of waking someone up now that everyone was up, and rushed down the stairs to the kitchen to quickly start breakfast. About half an hour later as Ivy was cleaning the kitchen, the down stairs area was alive with her mother looking for her hat, her sisters just starting their food, Ben bringing down Ivy's and his things. The next few minutes just seemed like a blur to Ivy between grabbing her sister's plates and placing them in the dishwasher, shouting to her mom places where might have left her keys, and getting Ben to put the bags in her car. Eventually though she was able to give her mother a hug and bid farewell to her sisters and exit the house with Ben.

"You look tired mom," mom was a common nickname of Ben's to Ivy,"you should let me drive."

Ivy smirked as she strode around her car. "Fat chance Ben. Maybe next time." They both ended up laughing, and Ivy knew Ben wasn't serious, but that didn't stop her hand from clenching around her keys. When they were in the car Ivy took a look at the time and was disappointed at how little time they had.

"I guess it's my turn to play speed racer."

                    "This I gotta see."

Moments later they were both at the trunk of her car pulling out their bags. Ivy groaned a bit as she pulled out Ben's guitar.

"Ben I won't stop your creativity, but did you really have to bring your guitar?"

"Yes. I did. It's like a part of me cuz. Here I got it. Umph."

The two of them practically poured themselves inside of the classroom, and noticed they were close to being some of the last to arrive. Ivy's eyes flashed up at Xander for a brief moment, but quickly scanned the room for a place to sit and put down her things. Ben did the same, but immediately went to the front of the room to grab a donut and cookie. Typical that Ivy's breakfast wouldn't be enough to fuel him. She, however, was quite full so she decided her time would be better spent sitting and flipping through her notebook at the notes she had been taking leading up to this trip.

BITTERxx With a world like this it's hard not to be bitter. It's at the moment when people you love start to change
and attack you that turns someone cold. However, she's always been a bit bitter due to her career. Competitive things,
such as dancing, can make some a bit nippy when things don't go as well as one would hope.

PRECISExx Being a dancer is something that people need to work and practice with everyday to reach the unreachable
goal of being perfect. It's from this that Quinn gets her need to be precise, and in this sort of world precision is something
that could be the difference between being alive or being a walker.

STERNxx At first Quinn used to be stern with just herself. She'd push and push herself to keep practicing to become
the best. When things with her career didn't go well and she had to settle with being an instructor she used that
sternness on others. She doesn't often snap at people but she demand results; it isn't something that's gone away.

DETACHEDxx This is something that was recent for Quinn. It used to be that she did like to mingle with others
outside of the studio. Going out with her girlfriend and other friends was what she loved to do after work. After the world
went to s**t though she gave up on attachments in fear of losing someone she loved again.

PATIENTxx Quinn's nerves don't often go on the fritz; she's often calm and in control even if the situation is tense. Her
career has taught her to be patient with things otherwise her nerves will get the best of her. It's another quality that has come
                                                  in handy now.

WRYxx While she is patient with waiting for things or people, it doesn't mean that she still doesn't get exhausted from
it. She'll sallow and bury her feelings, but she does get wry of people and sometimes make a remark about it.

ATTENTIVExx Attention to detail is crucial to work and surviving. You miss a beat, you've messed up the entire
dance. You miss where the exit was located, you're ********. It's also why Quinn is sort of a scavenger. She's able to
pick out things that are useful for the future or present.

CURIOUSxx Although Quinn will admit to many flaws, this is what she'd consider her worst flaw. She can't explain it
really because she finds herself fascinated by tiny treasures or secret hide-outs. It's helpful when she's exploring, but also
dangerous if she wanders into the wrong place.

                                        BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
                                        ▼ I'VE GOT YOU U N D E R M Y S K I N.

                                                  ⊰ Part One
Young, pretty girls should take care when they go to France is what should have been said to Quinn's mother when she
left to study abroad. Of course she was bound to meet someone, and that someone happened to be Quinn's father, and like all
romantic scenes they fell in love. She finished out the term there and he transferred himself through his work to America.
They lived up in Maine for awhile, but the cold was too much for her mother, so her parents moved to the opposite side of
the country, Florida, where they had Quinn.

                                                  ⊰ Part Two
It should be specified that the dancing that Quinn does is ballet, although up until Z-Day she was teaching all forms of dance.
She started very young and became obsessed with it. Both her parents encouraged her to dance and keep up with her studies
so she was either at practice, practicing at home, or studying. There wasn't much time for playing outside or making friends.
In fact the only people she really hung out with were the other girls, which would later cause her to realize she's into females as well.

                                                  ⊰ Part Three
At this point Quinn's grown up into a fine adolescent. She's physically fit, intelligent, and professional. While she isn't the
greatest beauty though it appears that no boy has approached her yet with intentions of more than just a friend. It was fine for
her though because all she could focus on was trying to get into a school up in New York. Her parents didn't mind buying the ticket
to send her up for the auditions. When she got there though there were girls who were doing ballet since they were two or
three. Quinn had started late, and while she was brilliant at dancing, she wasn't the best and was declined from the school and
forced to settle with a lower class one back home.

                                                  ⊰ Part Four
Distraught, Quinn returns home and jumps on the closest girl to her. The girl was straight so it was quickly ended,
but eventually Quinn found another girl to confide and lean on. Eventually she told her parents, and this displeased them greatly.
They reduced her time at the studio and instead put her on numerous blind dates, to which Quinn discovered she likes men as
well. Male or female though, it didn't matter. She didn't actually love anyone yet, and decided being alone was satisfactory enough.
Eventually she moved out of her parent's house and moved up to Atlanta, Georgia to teach.

                                                  ⊰ Part Five
Teaching seemed to pacify Quinn's hurt pride from that audition years ago, and her girlfriend at the time helped enormously.
Everything seemed peaceful and while not prefect, it did seem right. Then Z-Day came. It happened so fast that Quinn can
hardly remember what happened first and what happened last, but the main part was that her lover had turned and tried to get at
Quinn. It was a struggle at first on what to do, but when it became evident and she succeeded at destroying the brain, Quinn turned real
bitter real fast. If there was a walker she'd kill it in a heart beat, and she even tried to do the same to some she had been traveling
with that were bitten. Either from being out-casted, or her own choice, she left that group and found the extremists who didn't seem to
                                                      mind her little blood-thirst.

The sun was setting, and everything seemed to have a green tint to it. Madison was young again and she was back at her original home with her parents. She was out in the back, waiting at the door entrance watching her parents laughing and playing with her older sister. If anyone were watching this dream they'd see something that looked like a beautiful dream, but to Madison it was a nightmare. The neglected girl began to run as fast as she could, up and up in the air; coming down older. Crow was there waiting for her, his hand out-stretched reaching for her. Suddenly the darkness ate around her and she started to fall with water droplets, perhaps her own tears, flying away from her. The ground was hard and cold as she got to her knees. What was that green flame some paces in front of her? Madison felt entranced by it and fearlessly reached at the fire when it grew and began to crackle wildly. The dragon-flame in front of her didn't seem violent against her, it was just watching her, and she was watching back as it opened its mouth and began to - Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep BEEP! Madison's eyes opened submissively as her hand reached out to shut off the alarm. By this time Madison learned that the correct way to turn off an alarm was to physically turn it off as opposed to releasing her magic and put scorch marks on the wall, which did happen before in Europe. Elegantly pulling the sheets to the side, she slowly slid out of her bed to a lack of sunlight. Not because of the curtains she had forgotten to pull last night, but because it looked cloudy, and either it had already rained or it was going to rain; it was going to be chilly was the bottom line. The view was nothing spectacular so Madison ended up pursing her lips and headed for a nice, warm wake-up shower. Just because her demeanor was cold didn't mean that she was a complete ice queen, she liked being in a warm environment as opposed to a chilly one.

Once her shower was finished, she neatly robed herself and took care of other morning chores, such as choosing an appropriate outfit. One thing that Madison noted was how next year she would have to leave the shabby dorms and get an apartment for herself. Her simple parents still thought she was probably in Europe, that or completely forgot that they were still feeding money in her account. Madison shrugged, it didn't much matter, the money was still there and who knew what they were doing. The thought of her parents completely vanished as she slipped on her shoes. She had all her things, schedule, and books, so there was no point to stay in her dreary dorm. It did prove to be slippery outside, and the leaves that clung to the floor didn't help that situation, but Madison had no trouble in her heels. She walked as if she was pure royalty. Might as well make the correct expression now since this school would be hers for the next four years. Granted there were students much older than her, but age was never a factor that deterred Madison. In fact it took quite a lot for her to be intimidated. At the very most Madison would only see someone as an interesting challenge, or someone that comes close to her. She almost felt giddy inside just waiting to show this school who she was. Freshman or not, she was going to make sure everyone knew who she was. The only regret is that had Crow kept up with her they could be going to this school together and taking it by storm. Although, from what she remembered Crow didn't have any special powers like she did. It was always her that caused mystical things to happen. When Madison entered the school she noticed the time and how unusually early she still was. Option one was to go to her class, she already knew where it was because the previous day she had actually taken the time to study the map and walk around the school to get a feel, and sit there like a good little pet, or option two was to have some fun and look for possible minions.

Minions didn't have to mean people who willingly serving her, no they just had to be stupid enough. There are had to be some idiots around this school that would fall to her whim. Madison was looking around now for a good place to watch and select the biggest fools out of a sea of fools when an upperclassman had noticed her looking around and the poor soul mistook it for Madison being lost.

"Oh hey there, are you lost? I know the school can be a bit large and scary. Here just let me know where you're going and I'll take you there. My name is Vinny, what's yours?"

Madison turned to him with a smile that was so sweet it was sickening. Her eyes would be throwing daggers at him if she could actually do that. For a moment she had a plan to insult him back to his cave that he obviously came from, but she decided this could be a good test run to see if she could use him for just a bit. She could feel her magic swirling inside of her as she took a shy breath.

"Actually I'm trying to be a part of the school paper, and I'm trying to write something spectacular in order to be accepted. And well I can't seem to find anything to write about. Nothing scandalous seems to be happening, so I thought maybe I could try something. Unfortunately all I can think about are simple juvenile things, like pulling a fire alarm. It's quite childish, and not nearly powerful enough, don't you think?"

The guy seemed vacant for a second or two, which meant he was hooked into her hypnotism. He tried to say some words, but instead nodded. He was catching the drift that he was being ordered to do something that would cause some chaos. His will was almost like putty in her hands, all she had to do was say the word. What should he have him do? Perhaps jump off the roof? That would cause some commotion certainly. Her lips turned upwards at the thought and just when she was going to give the call when she was cut-off because apparently Vinny had a friend who didn't like the aura that she gave. His friend came over and mutter a quick hi and introduction that his name was Nate, but they had to go in fear of being late. Vinny followed in a trance like state and Madison was left with her upper lip snarling slightly. Just a little fun was all she was asking for. Either way it proved that yes there were truly dim-witted people here, but there were also others who weren't as easy to manipulate. Turns out taking over a college isn't as easy as it would appear to be. Nevertheless, Madison could still stay put and make mental notes on the possibilities until it was necessary that she make it to class.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx travel the world and the seven seas, everybody's looking for something travel the world and the seven seas, everybody's looking for something

One must take slow deep breaths when warming up to perform. They must stretch and always execute their warm-ups. Above all they must be in control and mindful of their task for their own sake and the sake of others. Old habits die hard. Quinn didn't find too many differences with what she lived for before and what she had to survive now. Picture the field, the space between where she was and where the police station, as a stage. The audience, although from sitting have now gone to standing, roaming, and craving your flesh, is now a hoard of zombies. And the critics? Well they're the special X case walkers, and they're need to rip you apart is exactly the same. Quinn gripped her baseball bat as she prepared for her performance.

                                                    WHAM!

The walker's skull caved in from the blunt object and sprayed decayed blood in the hot, humid air. Its demise wasn't quite finished yet as Quinn pulled out her crowbar and dug it into the walker and quickly yanked it out along with some dead flesh. Quinn flailed it a bit so that the flesh would fly off. It seemed that this attracted some of the other walkers as they were making their way to Quinn. Most of them had gone another way to follow Cecil, a way which Quinn could not find. For a moment she felt a pang of worry for the younger female, but Quinn needed to focus on herself right now. She quickly put the crowbar in the back of her pants and readied herself with her bat. The first came from the left and she quickly brought it down with another swing at the head. The one on the right came just as fast. Quinn ducked down and swung at the legs, probably breaking one of the bones she figured. The third one came almost too quickly and Quinn was forced to use the baseball bat to shield her. Quinn fell backwards, and could feel her own crowbar bruising her back.

                                                    "Arrrgh!"

She gritted her teeth at the pain in her lower back. Her arms were powerful enough only to just keep the walker at bay. The strength in them wouldn't be enough to push it off. That would be the duty of her legs. Quinn wiggled her legs under the walker and quickly gave a powerful kick at it sending the walker sprawling behind her. Using those same legs, she sprung herself up and came at the walker before it got up and began to beat in its head. Quinn could feel herself getting carried away with it had it not been for the walker that she bashed the legs of. It was crawling at her and its hand gripped at her ankle. It looked up her with bloodshot eyes, part of its mouth ripped off. Quinn pulled out her crowbar and flung it down, right in-between those eyes, and spat at it.

                                                    "I hate you."

Suddenly she heard a hoot coming over from not too far from her. She ran a few feet to see Cal and Wreck together. And by together she meant on top of each other in a ridiculous manner. Granted when she was a dancer she had to witness men lifting other men and carrying them, but nothing like that. Not with the balls in another man's face. Had this been in some other location in some other time Quinn would have suppressed a laugh, but right now she had to be flawless. She watched for a few more moments as they impressively cut a pathway through the walkers. Each of them were incredible as separate people, but when they were together it was if they were unstoppable. Quinn decided it would be wise to stay fairly near them.

                                                    Swing. WHAM. Swing. WHAM.

The noise of swinging down walkers acted as the orchestra in Quinn's little performance. Since that one walker, Quinn made sure not to let herself get carried away. Getting carried away would mean a loss of precision and would cause her fatigue. Granted, Quinn was use to performing with less strength, but even still, it was warned that there could be some case X mutations here, and if that was the case then energy would be necessary. They were nearing the police station, but Quinn still wasn't relaxed. Only when they had the weapons and were back would she calm herself. It would be nice if this mission would go well. The baseball bat was her girlfriend's, and she was very fond of it, but having a gun would be nice as well. The crowbar was just something she picked up at the basement of the dance studio and helped her open the exit door while she was escaping from the zombie dancers, some of which were her own students. They were useful tools, but when surrounded it's best to have a gun that is fast. Although, Quinn would have to get someone to teach her because learning how to shoot a gun wasn't something she picked up in ballet class. Her thoughts were immediately silenced when a beastie had flung itself at Cal. He was on his back and Quinn's eyes were wide as she watched. There's no worse a feeling then watching something like that unfold and knowing that if you tried to do anything you'll be killed. This is why having a gun would be nice. Thankfully, Cal managed to send the canine flying just as Quinn had done earlier with a walker. Before she could breathe though, four more beasties came out and Quinn rolled her eyes slightly. There had to be dogs. There were moans coming near and Quinn knew what that meant. First in the stomach, then another whack in the head. Bones were breaking in arms and legs as she gave her most of her strength at giving the boys a clear field to deal with the mutts. It didn't take long before they were done with. By the time Quinn finished with the stray walkers, the guys were getting ready to enter the building.

Part of Quinn wanted to go into the building with them, but that's not what she was. Quinn was a scavenger, and as such she would look around picking out anything useful. She made her way to the side of the building keeping alert for anything of significance. Maybe an exit in case the guys needed to leave early. It was only then that Quinn could actually note how hot it was, but there was no point in making a comment on it for no one to hear. There was a slight humming that made Quinn curious. The smell hit her before she could see what it was. Near the back of the station was presumably a former cop, as from his uniform, who decided to take the easy way out and blown his brains out. The flies were swarming around him, and it was hard to tell if he was actually dead or a walker. Cautiously, Quinn used her bat to nudge the foot, but it was limp as a noodle. This guy was definitely dead. Lifting her shirt above her nose, Quinn squatted by the cop and began to search him.

Normally, Tori doesn't seem like the kind to get up early and do things. One would think she's the kind of girl who would stay asleep in bed all day and wake up at three in the afternoon looking for breakfast. However, Tori's the exception. She likes the outdoors, the fresh air, and she loves to pay sports. In order to play sports well though, commitment is required. Not only does Tori practice in the afternoon, she gets up early to work out as well. It didn't matter that this first morning was the first day of school; Tori had a schedule set up since the beginning of summer. This morning it would be her morning jog as well as her soccer practice. She was careful not to wake them, some reason being respect, the other part that she didn't want to hear them whining about beauty sleep. Well maybe they wouldn't call it that, but they would probably groan. Tori was very selective of her other roommates. Just anyone wasn't going to do. Maybe any guy, but as for another female? Well, Tori had to make sure they weren't someone she would likely kill in the night. Frances was pretty girly at times, but at least she was kind of adventurous, and she didn't say "like" nine times in one sentence. Maria was also still asleep, but Tori could assume that she slept like the child she acts like. At times she was annoying, but other times Tori would feel this need to watch over her. It could have just been left over feelings from when she had to take care of Kevin. It didn't really matter now considering Tori had successfully left her dorm and was out in her sweats and mp3 player. The sun had barely risen yet, but Tori could still tell that today was going to be a cold one. A little brisk wind didn't bother her so much as it cooled her down from her exercise. This was going to be her coming out year. Most people might have known her, considering she was a part of most of the sport teams, or at least begged to be in all of them, so people could have known her if they payed attention to anything other than the football team. But Tori was looking for something more than just common knowledge. She wanted her name on some plaque, trophy, wall, anything really that would continue to exist even after this place.

She was determined to break the most records this year. Some might have thought that she had some sort of advantage with her powers, but if anyone dared to question it they'd get a Tori stare-down. Probably also a little roughed up. People weren't that stupid though to challenge her, so she's always able to get away with it. Tori wiped some sweat that was brewing on her forehead away as she worked her way up a steep hill. By now one of her roommates must have been waking up. They all seemed to have an agreement on the showering times, and Tori didn't mind taking her showers later in the morning after her work-outs and such. The showers after games were usually taken in the locker rooms on campus, that way she wouldn't have to fight one of them back at their place, because if it came down to a fight of the shower Tori would win. Then again if she didn't then she'd just stink of the place and leave her dirty clothes everywhere, and her clothes did get dirty. Finally she reached the soccer field, which seemed a little muddy, but didn't prevent Tori from changing her shoes. Usually there were sometimes left over balls on the field, but Tori always kept a secret one by the bench with a bush near it. The ball had been used by her all summer, so by now it was darkened from previous mud practices and a little worn, but still usable. Placing her mp3 player on the bench, Tori readied herself for some quality practice time with her ball. Occasionally, when Tori would be on the field, there would be some other stragglers, other students playing Frisbee for example, but not this morning. It was concluded that the two factors would be from the chill of this morning as well as it being the first day of school. No doubt all the girls were trying to look their best, while the boys would scramble trying to remember everything. Then there would also be the freshman that would come in and be completely confused. As Tori raced around the field, keeping the ball near her at all times, she remembered how last year went for her. She had a smaller dorm room on campus last year, and had moved in a few days before the start of classes, but it was still something.

It wasn't much of a goodbye though from her mom. She dropped her off at the school, made sure she had everything, left some money and contact information, and once Tori's things were in the room, she left. Maybe a call here or there later in the year but that was it. Because of that Tori was more than comfortable than most at living away from home and basically looking out for number one. As for her father, well he called about half the times that her mother called, but never did they call as a unit. Possibly because their relationship has been on a thin wire since even before Nathan's death. Tori kicked the ball a little too hard and watched it bounce of the side of the goal.

"[********]"

She let her thoughts travel, and she hated doing that, especially when she was playing. Grunting, she chased after the ball thinking it was probably time to head back. The run back didn't seem as long as the run to the field. It was probably for a good thing considering she could already see other students walking towards campus, as well as the upperclassmen were driving up from their apartments. Tori made a mental note to ask her parents for some help next year with getting an apartment. She'd probably see if Xiuying would room with her since that was really the only other female on campus that she legitimately liked and get along with. For now though she had Maria and Frances back at the dorm. When Tori arrived back at said dorm, she called out to them to let them know she was back, but they were both gone. It was then that Tori noticed the time and began to sprint towards the shower. It was getting close to ******** o'clock. At the very least, her biology class wasn't too terribly far from her dorm building. This was one of the advantages of living on campus.

It was also really nice that Tori had short hair so she didn't have spend as long as other females did with their hair. The time spent out of the shower took even less time. It wasn't that Tori didn't think she was pretty enough for make-up, it was that she didn't care for it at all. If anything she considered that make-up made her less attractive. That and it just was practical for her at all. Frances did not share the same opinion, but she kept most of her things in her room. Once she vacated the bathroom, Tori ran, and slipped a bit, but regained her balance, to her room and basically just threw on some clothes. It took her a few minutes until she found her chucks though only because she was a bit unorganized with her clothes and sports equipment. When the shoes were on, Tori grabbed her book bag and began to run out of her room until she tripped over her lacrosse stick. She would have fallen on her face if she were anyone else, but do to her heightened powers instead she caught herself with her hands and stared at the ground with her nose about an inch from the floor. She pushed her body up and in the same fluid movement left her dorm and went running down the hall heading for class. There were some faces that she remembered, some faces from other sport teams, some enemies, and mostly either new or unknown faces. She began to slow down as she entered the main area. Everyone seemed kind of bunched up together, and it was a little hectic. A part of Tori wished she could transform into an actual lioness and just maul people away. Instead she just kind of shoved her way through. It wasn't that she was eager to get to class, it was just that she didn't need an excuse to have one of her coaches to penalize her for something academic. There happened to be some group of girls who seemed to be just standing and chatting about how and with whom they spent their summer. Utterly pointless. Tori rolled her eyes and shoved herself through their circle.

                                              "Uh! Excuse you!"

                                              "Excuse me? Excuse yourself princess."

The girl made some sort of incomprehensible squeal. Tori turned with a dark look and her eyes slightly glowing, "Bite me." She raised a middle finger and went on her way ignoring the stupid comments the group of girls were now muttering about her.

"Come on Tori, you don't have time to kick their skinny asses in the mud. Just get to class," she told herself as she entered the building.

This was proving to be a bit more difficult that Madison would have predicted. People didn't really seem to bunch up in tight clicks like they did in high school. Perhaps it was because college as to why everyone seemed more engrossed in their own selves. Regardless, it was frustrating for Madison to find someone to manipulate. Nothing too big, since her last attempt didn't work so well. Just maybe someone to carry her books from class to class. Someone to clean her room would be nice too. Better yet, a chef! She made a mental note to stop by the home economics area later. Lost in her thoughts, Madison began to pace around a bit. She didn't take care to notice the two stray pieces of paper that were speckled with black notes to achieve music. The front of her heel inched towards the face of that pretty paper when suddenly a shy, but effective voice reached out for her as did a frail body.

"Miss! Please stop!"

Madison did as she was told and looked over at the girl with her brown knowing eyes. The soft face was aimed towards her, but the girl's eyes were stuck at her feet. Inching her foot away, Madison began to form a small smile. This was her girl. It was the look on her face, that gave her away. She was also special. As in, Madison just couldn't use her as any ordinary minion. No, she would save this girl for something special, that was for sure, but she had to play it right. This meant that Madison was going to have to hide that biting side of her that sent chills to everyone around her. Madison started to bend to grab the papers, but the girl beat her to it, so she could only lean over slightly and smile.

"Don't worry sweetheart. I hope the papers aren't damaged. If they are, I sincerely apologize."

The poor girl was still bent over arranging her things when someone else approached. He was rugged and cheeky. Madison could instantly tell that he would be a pest, and it wasn't just from what he just said.

Why don’t you just smack ‘er over the head with the case?

Since the poor girl was still crouched over the ground, Madison took this opportunity to shoot the guy a poisonous look. She had an urge to rip this guy apart with her words, but held her calm.

"Surely doing something like that would prevent any probable friendly thoughts towards the initiator."

With that, Madison bent her body as she helped the other girl to her feet. When Madison straightened out her body she felt suddenly surrounded. Two large, bulky men, and yes they were men, it was impossible to call these guys boys, who had encased themselves around her. The taller one looked down at her and began to speak first.

Hey sweetie, ever wondered what it would be like to play with the big boys?

The shorter one began to close the rest of her way off to her as he spoke.

I’m sure a pretty young thing like yourself has always wondered.

Perfect! Men who are obviously interested in her, strong, and already they didn't seem too bright. Well, at least not as smart as she is. Any other girl probably would have ran, or completely opened her legs up, but Madison chose neither of these. She was intrigued by these men. They were definitely minion material. Probably a little more higher up minions, but still minions nevertheless. Giving them a coy smile, she was going to beckon them away from the girl with the music since there was no need to give the girl a bad impression yet, when another voice interrupted. At this point Madison was beginning to feel like the center of attention, and instead of being overwhelmed she quite enjoyed it. This was all she ever wanted. To be the center and to be adored.

"Are they bothering you Love?"

Madison's delicate neck arched to the side to see the origin of the voice that was reaching out to her. This time it was a female, but this female was nothing compared to the previous one with the music. The newcomer had this ferocity hidden inside her, and perhaps that was Madison over-analyzing her but she knew that it was another potential ally. However, this place was not a good location. Not so close to the frail one. Madison had to play this smoothly.

"Oh no, darling. These big boys here were just going to escort me to my class, but I wouldn't mind some fresh company."

Her eyes seemed to had a faint green gleam in them for a moment as she eyes the two guys and the other female. There was no question, only demand. Whether they followed or not would determine their worth to Madison. Before she left though, she had to make sure that the frail one didn't think this was over, for it was far from it.

                                                                      "Let's meet again next time."

Madison could feel her power dripping out of her mouth with those words. A little magic never hurt. It was just a reassurance that she would have this girl in her grip. For now Madison left the poor girl to the mutt that interrupted. Her heels clicked a little as she started walking, keeping it at a decent pace for the fierce girl to follow her, as well as the two devilish men.

"Come along you two," she mentioned to the guys, "didn't you want to play?" As for the other girl, "I'd enjoy your company as well."

She took a few more steps when she realized she was forgetting something very important that these new potential allies would need.

"By the way, my name is Madison. Madison Raine."
