Tying this cape around his neck was much harder than it looked like. He struggled with it immensely and all those chatty people weren't helping. Some of the other Slytherins were getting ready to leave and couldn't help grinning at the fool Charles who can't even tie a knot, inside the common room. Charles gave a weak smile and half hearted laugh as well as determined look to get his cape to tie. It only brought chuckles in his house. It was probably harsh to think so, but Charles wished all of them would go and drown in the lake right now. ******** it if they were Slytherins or not, they all were bothering him. There were so few that Charles would tolerate right now. Izzy would be the first on his list that he would request for to cool his temper. Charles was just not in a good mood since the Milo incident. Yes he didn't love her in that way anymore, but that didn't mean that all his feelings for her just evaporated. Milo deserved someone who at least wasn't a stuck up p***k. Antonio was just too ... snobby, proper, and such a goody goody. At least when Milo and him dated they had fun. There was also the fact that Antonio barely knew her as well. Geez, they couldn't even wait to glue their lips together. Charles tried all that he could to keep from making a face or frowning while there were people watching him. Instead he just chuckled some more as he helplessly tied the knot. Once he got it he gave a broad smile as if to signal that the joke was over and that they would just have to leave and expect more at the dance.
Who would suspect the jittering monkey to be the tiger in disguise? No one; that's why it was so perfect. Everyone was in a sea of ignorance. Charles gave a little bow to the remaining people who decided to clap for him. It was respectable, but annoying all the same. The Prince Charles sentenced them away. That's right. Tonight Charles sheathed his title of crown jester for a royal. A royal garbed in silk so fine it shimmered in the dark. Charles cornered his eyes like the silt of a snake's as the entrance closed off the people interrupting his dark thoughts. There is a reason why Charles Cheshire was placed in Slytherin. The darkness enveloped in his heart was much too murky to not be seen through the white paint that coated Charles when the sorting hat was placed upon his head. It was a real experience for Charles, and one he kept to himself. Charles was merely lingering now in his common room. His fingers traced along the mask he bought for himself. A physical mask to show, or hint at the very least that he is not what he seemed. Charles stroked the huge protruding red feathers coming from the mask comparing them to the color of blood; blood that he hoped would be spilt today. Blood of Antonio.
Charles tried his best not to crack the delicate mask he just purchased, but Antonio made him so vicious. The royal sneered as he thought back to the startling scene he witnessed between Milo and Antonio. She willing threw herself at him. It was insulting to Charles that she did such behavior. It took Charles ages before he worked up the courage to kiss her, not to mention all that he did to get to know her better. And here comes Antonio the supposedly self-proclaimed sexy Spaniard who just waltzes up and woos her before she even has time to reconsider. It was just wrong in general. Antonio was weak and would never be able to provide for Milo, plus he was just too tame for her. Milo was wild and needed someone who could keep up. As ex-lover, and best friend Charles only thought it right that he have at least a little say in who she was going to see and not see. Antonio, sadly enough for him, was out, and Charles would make sure he knew that tonight. Since earlier in the week Charles made himself scarce, and was working out. Obviously not enough to make a visible difference, but enough to make himself little stronger, you know, to give him the advantage. No wands would be necessary in this battle, and if someone saw fit to come and show Antonio justice, they would be free to fight. Charles wasn’t a fool to know that Milo would just go along with this, but perhaps after Antonio was dragged away to the hospital wing, they could talk in private about this whole ordeal, and perhaps she would listen. The other problem would be Izzy. As a sister and a prefect she would be bound to come and stop Charles, but with his apology gift she would hopefully be attached to Tyler, and Tyler defiantly wasn't going to stop Charles with his fight. The other sour note is that Charles just knew in his gut that Izzy was going to be far too beautiful tonight, and she would be eager to get next to Nathan. Charles would have to sacrifice Izzy and allow her to woo over Nathan in return for Charles puling through with the fight.
Nowadays everything has a price, thought the prince as he sighed. If he continued to wait this long Char would be down and their meeting place would be pointless. Charles brushed his hair to the side with his hand and prepared his mask upon his face. The mask matched very well to his whole prince outfit. Charles almost left before he realized he was forgetting one thing. Every prince needs a sword, and yes Charles' sword was real. Well to put it correctly it was a saber, but the difference was minor. Tyler helped him get it past security. It was sure nice to have friends in high positions. The real sword was merely to prove to Antonio that Charles was the real deal, plus wouldn't it be cool if Charles challenged Antonio with a real sword? Antonio would probably be all sissy like and bring out a white glove or something, but Charles would whip out his sword and hold it to his throat and say some cool catch phrase, and then the battle would begin. Charles chuckled a little as he sheathed the saber and tied it against his waist. The royal then left the common room with a flick of his cape and devilish smile. The prince trotted through the corridors in silence as the lights came and went. The halls were practically empty since everyone was out enjoying the festivities. Charles actually might not have been one of them if Char had not asked him to the dance. Char was not a last resort, actually she was rather attractive and very easy for him to get along with, but still he figured that tonight was just like any other night in that there was a very remote chance that they would fall for each other. If she had not agreed to go with him then he planned to do some Deatheater's work. He was in the mood for mischief, and not the kind that was acceptable.
Ever since the scene he witnessed with Milo, Charles has been a ticking time bomb waiting to explode on someone innocent or not and just curse them to hang on the ceiling until the blood poured out from their nostrils, eyes, and mouth. Yes, Charles has been extremely pissed, but no one seems to notice that becomes the fact is that no one sees him. Izzy might have known or caught on if they spent the week together, but every since that sprat they had and the confirmation that Nathan was taking Gabby, she was avoiding him. Hopefully his gift, and Tyler, would take her mind off of it. There was something fishy with the date though, and Charles wasn't much aware with it or interested in it, he still knew something seemed planned. Whatever it was it didn't matter at all to him. Actually if anything it helped to get Izzy away from the wannabe quiet intellectual. His thoughts almost led Charles smack into someone, but thankfully they both moved out of the way in time. Charles wasn't recognized very much because of the dim light and the mask so the only reply to their almost collision was a compliment on his attire. Charles nodded but said nothing and kept on his way. It probably baffled some, and most important his sister if indeed she had her gifts now, how he acquired this sort of gold. All that was needed was a little brown-nosing, and some agreements for more family gatherings with his step-father. It was no use asking his mother because it's not like she had any money. Izzy's and Charles' wealth depended solely on the graciousness of their step-father Freddie. If anyone was lucky it was Toby, Charles' and Izzy's half brother. Adam, their other half-brother but in no direct relation to Toby, was fine. He was out in his own apartment trying to get a job with the Ministry. What a laugh that was. Poor unknowing Adam, the star of the family, the best Gryffindor had to offer when he was there, shared a half-sibling relationship with two deatheaters.
The best thing was that Adam would never know it. Thinking of Adam though only brought very little humor to Charles, and only because of when Izzy gave that one premonition in front of the family. Izzy's gift was interesting and one that Charles always gave a special eye out for. After her last one he was interested for more, just to see what the future was bringing. The point was though that Charles would have to sacrifice himself to more homecomings and talking more with Freddie. As if, Charles planned to get sick for almost all of them, because to be honest, only Izzy mattered. Their mother gets pregnant with every guy she meets, his so called brothers weren't his real brothers, Freddie was just a boring person, and their real father was probably out drinking himself until he passes out. Charles always knew that he wasn't going to come back, but he wanted to remain hopeful for Izzy, so he always acted like their father would wise up and come home. Charles could have kept going with this, but by now he was at he entrance of the Great Hall and the bright lights kept him away from the shadows that his brain made inside his skull. It looked like it once was empty, but by now everything was exciting and everyone was out and about. Charles looked around for familiar faces, but all he got back was stares of students he knew that for once didn't see him through the layer in front of his face. How so of them to finally not recognize him just because of an appearance, rather than by personality. Charles rolled his eyes and got closer to the entrance. Perhaps Izzy was here by now? No, not quite yet, but he did see someone familiar, Tyler. Geez he looked ready to murder someone. Charles probably should have urged Izzy not to be late, although she did know Tyler as well so she should have figured that Tyler waiting for a woman was a bliss from the Gods. Charles smirked and took a few steps getting ready to great him. He was halted unfortunately by a group of students who decided to cut his path and force him back a bit.
A prince should never have to wait. It was fortunate that he was cut off and forced to look a different direction, because now he was able to glance at a green fairy come to enchant his heart. From where Charles stood he could plainly see Anna, Freddie's sister, with gorgeous wings upon her bare back and a green dress just as pretty as the one he bought for Izzy, but you can't look at your sister and think she's gorgeous because that's incest and gross. On Anna thought it was perfectly ok. Charles even felt a little heated in his mask and wanted to just bound straight for her and impress her, but he realized that wouldn't be so good considering she was in the company of another masked man. Charles shook his head and looked away. No, Anna would be for another night. Tonight was meant to be a heated battle between strength and weak. Antonio being the weak of course. Charles felt himself get heated again, but this time of pent up anger. Charles again took a few steps forward when he noticed a lonely figure struggling down the steps; Izzy. Charles gave a soft smile as he looked up at her. At least he could think that she was pretty and not sound like he was hitting on her. He was sure that it was awkward for her since she wasn't accustomed to heels and he suddenly asked her to go in glass ones, not to mention the grand dress he bought for her. He did like her own little touch to it by literally wearing her mask. Now that was unique and he gave her props. Charles was also amazed, but not surprised, at the bottom of her dress sparkling and giving off glitter to the floor then disappearing. That was Izzy for you, secretly deadly with charms. He did notice however, that she just stopped at the last step; never really joining the floor and everyone else.
Her moving head implied that she was looking for Tyler, who probably didn't even notice her now. Smirking a bit and shaking his head Charles looked back to Tyler and came at him. Charles was a bit disturbed to find Tyler struggling with another girl right now. Charles came next to them and tapped his foot.
"Tyler...didn't we talk about this? Man, just look over there."
Charles nudged his head over in Izzy's direction. All he wanted was for them to have a nice date, and keep Izzy away from him while he dealt with Antonio. Well there was also his personal wish of Izzy falling for someone that wasn't Nathan and someone he personally approved of. That's why Charles begged Tyler before he asked Izzy to not just ditch her and go gallivanting off with another girl. At least not for tonight. If Charles was a prince, then shouldn't Izzy be a princess?
