Kai strolled silently down the dark, empty corridor of the dormitory, his shadow moving on the stone wall. "I'm late for dinner." The pretty boy noted mentally as he looked down at his watch. Thinking back to it, he wondered about what made him tardy in the first place. Due to strict discipline as a child, he was always taught to be punctual along with many other things, so it was quite rare for him to be late to anything. The reason was because Kai had only arrived at the school about an hour ago due to his plane being delayed. Although he took into account settling in and preparation before dinner, because his arrival was delayed, everything else was also pushed back. Usually, he would've taken the same plane with his brother Leo, but he needed to visit his some people, so the siblings ended up taking separate plane which resulted in Kai being where he was right now. Late.

The young Chinese boy eventually arrived at the dining hall. Even though the giant double doors were shut, there were servants guarding outside to open and close them at will just in case any students come late. Fortunately, dinner was still going on and the opening ceremony has not started so Kai was allowed entrance to the inside. Setting his feet in the room, his ears were immediately attacked by the rowdy and noisy atmosphere of the dining hall. People were chatting themselves away. Servants and students alike were asking for orders and food. Utensils and chinas were coming to contact, making those high-pitched clinking noises. It was dinner time alright.

The pair of honey brown eyes scanned through the crowd of people for a certain face. Looking left and right, Kai couldn't seem to find his brother's presence anywhere. It wasn't until his gaze following the familiar figure of a classmate to a table that he caught sight of Leo's bright outfit. "He...he looks like a woman." His eyes twitched a little with the thought. "And what's with those pants?" His opinion made him seem like some sort of fashionista but it was actually the contrary. Kai was far from one. It's just that his brother's fashion choices brought out his deep hatred for all things girly.

Despite his opinion, Kai moved on to the table that his brother was situated at. Taking a quick look at the people, his memory registered all their faces. The two seniors, Bastien and Anik, were Leo's friends that he had met before. Julian was someone that Kai met himself, and the two had a rather interesting relationship. And the last male, Zach, was a Sophomore, once his classmate, and a fellow music lover (but that's a secret so shhhh...). Glad that there was no stranger, Kai felt a little comfortable approaching the table. Coming up besides Zach, he bowed slightly as respect for the upperclassmen, followed by a greeting. "Hello all." Hand on the back of one of the empty chair, he proceeded to ask for permission to sit, "Are these vacant? Do you mind if I occupy one of them?"

While eating, Kai listened attentively to the response of his upperclassmen. All seemed to have somewhat similar answers, from the occasional 'boring' to 'okay' and the like. He was focusing on his dinner when Julian suddenly pulled him to the side and announced that Kai was his replacement. He was puzzled at first. "I'm his replacement? When did I agree to such a thing? And replacement for what?" Those were the questions that zoomed through the brunette's head. But not long afterward, his mind started to piece things together. Looking around, he recalled the information of the familiar faces at the table. Bastien was captain of the lacrosse team. Anik was a member. Before Kai sat down at the table, he heard some talk between Bastien and Julian about replacement and tryouts. "Is he talking about lacrosse?" he wondered. His eyes narrowed, giving Julian a rather disapproving look.

Putting his utensils down, Kai looked to his brother who seemed as confused as he was. Turning to Julian, the Chinese boy took the blonde's arm off his shoulder and forcefully pulled him closer by the arm. Eyeing the people at the table, he whispered into Julian's ear, making sure other people wouldn't hear them. "I did not agree to be your replacement. I don't even remember us having any conversation even remotely close to this topic. What are you planning, Julian?" inquired the brunette, his hand gripping the other's arm tightly, but out of sight. Despite his emotion not showing on the outside, Kai was growing quite upset at this point. It was one thing to be recruited to play lacrosse, but it was another to have some guy telling him to play as a replacement. He saw Julian's action as something similar to what the main family has done to him, and that did not make Kai happy one bit.
