They know me by the name of:
Saint Michael
I look like this:
User Image
I am: Six feet - shorter than most, but not something that Michael is concerned about.
Can't you see I'm a:
Male
Upon creation, I had this power:
Pyrokinesis
Michael has elemental control over the element of fire, the opposite to the ice of his arch enemy, Lucifer. When calling upon this power with all of his energy, or when he is truly desperate, he can call for a unique Holy white flame that is particularly powerful against demons. Unfortunately, it can cause severe damage to his own body in the process - a sacrifice that simply must be made.
Telekinesis
This ability allows him to lift physical objects through his willpower. It relies heavily upon his emotions at the time - happiness or hopefulness will cause his attempts to be much more easy and simple. Anger will be equally successful, but may take extra time or test his remaining strength. When Michael is depressed, he can barely lift anything at all. This power does not only affect items, but also living organisms, although moving a demon, angel or even human strains him far more.
Telepathy
The saint can communicate others through mental connection, and it is one of the factors that makes him such a formidable enemy - as a general, he does not need to shout commands or advice to others. His army is swift and unpredictable. He cannot go so far as to read minds or histories, however - not that he would want to. Michael is a humble and respectful man, and would never dare to invade someone else's privacy.
I master:
Coercion
Whether it be through persuasion or intimidation, Michael will very rarely fail to learn what information he wishes to know. Knowledge is a superior weapon, after all.
Warrior
He's incredibly skilled with his sword and, occasionally, his shield. Very few in Heaven stand a chance against him in armed combat, one of them being his aide, Zadkiel.
Navigator
Michael has memorized every feature of the earth. No matter where he may be, he will eventually come to recognise his position and know where to move next, if he's unable to return to Heaven.
Leader
The saint has no difficulty in organising his crew and giving out orders. He tries to be as fair and just as a battlefield will allow, because he knows that without his army he is nothing at all.
I'm a:
Seraphim - an angel blessed with six wings.
I'm a bit:
Michael is, most notably, stoic. To those he does not immediately recognise he will be distant, wary, and withdrawn. Perhaps it is not expected of an angel, but who can truly blame him? Michael is the general of God's army, and it was one of his closest friends that betrayed them - who became his most hated enemy. As a result he can sometimes act overly suspicious, but with time and patience anyone can earn a place in the seraphim's heart. He is incredibly loyal to his Lord and to those who fight in his army, although his love for his fellow angels can sometimes be his weakness - he is very easily deceived, and mentally is quite vulnerable. Hence, once again, his originally-cold nature. Michael is selfless and would willingly sacrifice himself for any one of his companions, but when it comes to putting his conscience to rest he can be quite a pest; he will hinder anyone, Lucifer included, for a chance to understand why they inflicted their torturous actions upon his kind. To his enemies he is quite relentless; he cannot forgive Lucifer or the fallen ... can he? Perhaps he can. Despite the air of confidence and pride he exudes, Michael is secretly always at war with himself, always questioning his actions and whether he could have achieved a better result. It is his own harshness upon himself that causes him to be so successful.
I like:
Jophiel, Zadkiel, his fellow angels, God, peace of mind, humans, the seven virtues
But I hate:
Lucifer, the fallen, demons, the seven sins, restlessness, the dark.
Bio:
It has been a very long time since Michael first saw light. Since his creation he was intended to be the field commander of God, and that is exactly what he is. With the help of his two aides, Jophiel and Zadkiel, the Lord's army was something incredibly glorious to behold - fortunately, there were no enemies for it to battle against. Michael grew stronger and wiser alongside the other archangels, and like most of their kind not only looked up to their ruler Himself, but to another angel: Helel, the most beautiful of their kind. He was even more powerful than Michael himself, but the general did not see this as a threat. Of course, at the time, he viewed Helel as an ally - no, perhaps more than that. Maybe he saw that angel as a brother of sorts. Nowadays, Michael cannot be sure; the past, so gentle and kind, seems so inferior now ...

It all began when their Lord made the announcement that they would devote their energy toward the safety and happiness of the humans. It was a decision that Michael was pleased with, but not everyone felt the same. Helel was one of these angels, and he spoke up about his feelings, declaring that the humans were weak and that God was as well, for having ordered such a thing. He tried to convince the angels to change their loyalty to him, and to leave God's side. It was a moment of disaster and confusion, yet Michael was calm. He didn't need to move; he knew where his loyalties laid. With Zadkiel and Jophiel at side, he went about attempting to capture the rebellious prince.

They failed, but Helel went to God nevertheless. There, the two ultimate beings battled fiercely, until the weaker of the two cleverly sought out his sire's weakness. When the throne shattered, God retreated to safety, and the darkened angel smiled ... had he won? Michael shook his head and gritted his teeth. No! As long as he, the general, still continued to draw breath then Helel would have an enemy to worry about. With that thought in mind, the angel leapt forward and engaged the strongest of their kind in combat. At first their battle was flamboyant and stunning, but Michael was well aware that without aid, he would perish.

At the last moment, God gave him the last of his own, pure power. It was invigorating; the saint felt as if he was going to burst with Heavenly fire at that very moment. He did not have the opportunity to kill or capture Helel though, as the other angel had fled the premises with those who remained loyal to him. Although, did he truly escape? Did Michael put all of his effort into chasing the older angel? His slowness may have been influenced by pity, remorse, brotherly love ... no. He would not accept such cruelty against his Lord; he had tried, but failed. That was the end to it all. After the battle, he found his aides and comforted them both. 'What happened here could not have possibly be foreseen. Do not blame yourselves for what occurred here - there is only one who could be accused of this treachery, and he knows who he is.'

Since then, Michael has been working hard to become Lucifer's equal - or, hopefully, superior in terms of skill and power. His wings have grown black with the blood of the fallen and the demons that Helel, now called 'Lucifer', keep under his control. He will destroy Lucifer ... and if he does not have that opportunity, then he shall weaken the traitor so that Zadkiel and Jophiel may.
Weapons:
A black greatsword and, very rarely, a shield.

Cold, pale blue-mint eyes fixed upon their target. Delicate, but deceivingly strong hands locked around the hilt of the greatsword and aimed its tip at the enemy. The angel's entire body betrayed a small amount of movement as he inhaled a deep breath. A calm warrior was one who could hold his weapon steady, and therefore would already be more skilled on the battlefield than most. The archangel let his lids drift closed, sweeping his weapon in a slow arc toward the silver-plated pole that had fixated him. The tip of the blade dragged across its metal, producing a soft hiss of protest, but there was not enough force or speed behind the blow to cause any serious harm. 'It is not possible that I would remain so calm in the presence of any demon or fallen, though,' he thought to himself with an inaudible sigh of frustration. Anyone who could lock away their emotions and be placid was simply not an angel, or human for that matter. He was not a demon nor a fallen, so he would not dare to speak for them. Considering the tales he had heard and the things he had seen, the seraphim would not be overly surprised to hear about a fearless beast, though. He allowed his imagination to run free, recalling the many creatures that had invaded not only the sanctity of the human realm and Heaven alike, but also the void of his dreams. They were ugly, crimson-eyed, brutal and heartless. They would lurch for him, or perhaps an ally ... they would be caught, dragged down, and killed. Not only were they slaughtered, but these things somehow managed to make their deaths so ... dishonourable. Disgusting. Pitiful.

For a moment, his emotions got the better of him and Michael's eyes flew open as he lashed out, striking the target with his weapon. It spun on its hinges, designed to do so that the damage would not be quite so bad. He gazed at its shimmering metal for a moment, and then sighed, lifting the greatsword with a bit of effort and sheathing it horizontally across the back of his waist. 'Control yourself, Michael. You'll have your chance,' he reassured himself, but his expression remained solemn. The saint turned and admired his surroundings as he took his leave of the training grounds. They were relatively large, with several of these 'spinning poles'. They could be fitted with extra 'limbs' of sorts, to mimick the posture of an enemy. Those who were trained here were taught the most vulnerable points on a demon's body, where their armour could usually be pierced, and how to achieve the maximum amount of damage of their weapon. Always deliver the swiftest and most merciful blow; there was nothing but sin in savouring a foe's slow death. The ring itself was surrounded by neatly trimmed green hedges, and over those plants the remainder of the city could be viewed. If it could even be referred to as a 'citadel', that was; the buildings were stunningly beautiful and were divided by generously large plots of grass and other plants.

Michael passed through the golden gates of the arena, returning a humble nod to a pair of young and flustered cherubim. They wore light armour, and yet looked nothing like soldiers. 'Lucifer. You shall pay for this,' he thought grimly, trying rather desperately to continue savouring Heaven's beauty. The flowers were bright and fragrant, the air sweet with their pollen. In the gleam of the marble beneath his feet, the General could see the dark reflection of his boots as he strode along. When the war was over, perhaps he could devote his energy to giving the humans a world like their own; after all, wasn't that what his Lord had originally intended? Humans - they were so sensitive, so fragile. And they could be tainted so, so easily ... like Lucifer. Or perhaps it was the fallen's doing altogether. The General honestly expected something so low from his enemy.

'I wonder where Zadkiel is,' he thought to himself, deciding that enough was enough - today was a beautiful day and he would not waste its hours suffering from ancient scars of his. He had visited the training grounds to see if his aide was there, but he hadn't been.

They know me by the name of:
Elizabeth Langton.
I look like this:
User Image
I am:
Five feet and four inches.
Can't you see I'm a:
Female.
Upon creation, I had this power:
Diviner
Like her angel ancestor before her, Elizabeth is able to see glimpses of the future and derive information from them. She was not always blind, so the world around her is no stranger, even if her perception of some things can be rather surreal. She is able to craft prophecies out of these visions. When at her best, Elizabeth can sometimes force this ability - usually she experiences these through her sleep, like dreams, and even then it's a relatively rare occurrence. The future is not always guaranteed; with her guidance, people can make changes to thwart or even totally avoid certain events. She believes that they're only strange dreams though ...
Stealth
Bath Kol was the angel of prophecy, and came to many in the form of a mere voice - there was no obvious body to be seen. Elizabeth has inherited this power from her mother, but it's not as simple as being invisible. She has the ability to transform into one of three elements, which are air, earth and water - she can transform into air, invisible to the human eye but certainly with its weaknesses; a tree, which will encase her body and, if in the right environment, will make her completely unnoticeable; and lastly, a small pool of water. This power, as great as it might seem, has its disadvantages though. As air, Elizabeth can feel the presence of people and listen to them through soundwaves, but has no way of seeing them. This shouldn't be an issue for someone who has been blind for most of her life, but alas, she doesn't have any hands to feel about with either. If she uses this form, she will force herself to stay in the one spot so she doesn't become lost. The tree is sturdy, but lacks the ability to move, feel the presence of others or sense the touch of others. It's due to her powers that she can hear someone speak, but for all she might know someone might be asleep in her branches when she decides to transform back into her usual body. And lastly, water. Unlike the tree she is not easily destroyed, but can be killed slowly if her puddle dries up. For that reason she is naturally inclined to search for a larger water source, such as a lake. Rivers and oceans are considered dangerous as she will be moved around due to the current. As of now however, Elizabeth has no idea she is capable of such feats.
I master:
Sensitive
Due to her blindness, this young nephilim's sense of smell, touch, taste and hearing are much more refined than most. She is much more aware of her own actions as well, careful to tread and breathe more quietly if she feels it's necessary. She can recognise scents others might not even notice, taste strange flavours in food, and feel an alteration in a surface such as a crack of lump that others might not see or feel. However, it's a double-edged sword; she's a picky eater, is repulsed by bad or strong smells, and has worse reactions to changes in temperature.
I'm a:
Nephilim - an angel-human hybrid - who believes she is human.
I'm a bit:
First and foremost, she is proud to a point where she is ridiculously stubborn. Elizabeth hates her condition and the people who usually come with it, and is adamant to prove herself as an independent young lady. Only when she's truly desperate will she accept help from others, and afterwards she's most likely to act as if her vulnerability was never exploited. The nephilim is usually quiet and doesn't speak up unless she feels it's totally necessary. For the most part, she does not enjoy the company of others and would prefer to stay solitary, in the comfort of her home, with nothing more than her loyal guide dog and a few tape recordings of books read aloud. Unlike her holy ancestors, Elizabeth is far from a 'sweet, little angel'. She carries herself with confidence, perhaps too much, and often spouts an insult or two to those who she thinks deserve it. She's not generally polite to anyone - unless she's trying to impress them. It might be assumed that this rougher side to her nature was inherited from her guardian-of-sorts, the grigori Azazel. Despite her moodiness and easily-stirred anger, the nephilim can be incredibly sensitive. While she won't betray her emotions during the moment, she'll undoubtedly sulk about the situation at a later, more suitable time. Only those who are close will experience this girl's gentleness.
I like:
Audio books, flowers, dogs, Azazel - despite all of their fights, myths and fairy tales, solitude and respect.
But I hate:
Crowded areas, foul/strong smells, tastes or textures, her burns and blindness, bad music and being viewed as weak.
Bio:
Bath Kol was a female angel, and the designated being of prophecy. She often visited people in an 'invisible' form, which was in fact merely an element nearby, and spoke to them with a 'soft, divine voice'. She spoke to many, and was often noted as being the echo of God's voice, or the voice of the Lord himself. She would warn them of events that were to take place in the future, and remind others to look deep into themselves and acknowledge their inner self, their feelings and emotions. Following the uprising, Bath Kol was one of the few angels sent to the surface of Earth to guide and watch over the human race. They became attached to the lesser species, indulging them in secret information and going so far as to mate with them, produce offspring known as 'nephilim'. God was disgusted with their behaviour and declared them to be outcasts, banishing them from Heaven and forcing them to remain on the planet they called their new home. Many were heartbroken, some were furious, and very few - one of these being Bath Kol herself - were relieved to have been punished for their 'sins'. She had fallen in love with a human man and had a child herself, but remained an active member of the Grigori group up until her last day alive, working alongside Azazel and the other high-ranking exiles. She only had one child with her husband, whom she named Elizabeth: 'God is my Oath'. As happy as she was, the Grigori had been determined to heal her relationship with the deity, but the chance was never given to her.

Elizabeth Langton grew up in the city of London with her parents and her 'uncle' of sorts, who had a funny name of Azazel. She referred to him as 'Azazaza', and then eventually 'Zel', which has planted itself as her nickname for him. Like any child she would wake her parents at midnight with her squalls, find herself a pet snail in the courtyard outside their apartment every second day, and chew on anything she could get her little hands on. Unlike most toddlers however, she had strange dreams. She would close her eyes and see soldiers in the heat of battle, or the ocean going black with a poison deep within the earth. Being an infant she could not understand the meaning behind these visions, nor could she communicate very clearly with her parents about them. So, she let them be. Bath Kol knew exactly what her daughter was enduring, but decided never to reveal the severity of her 'nightmares'. It was the innocence of humans that had drawn her to them. She asked Azazel to keep Elizabeth's heritage a secret, even from the girl herself. That it could be too dangerous for Elizabeth, and that the child would be drawn into a world of war and despair. Being the good friend and honourable man he was, Azazel agreed to the promise, albeit unwillingly.

When Elizabeth reached the age of four, something horrible occurred. A demon that had been hunting the Grigori entered the household in search of Bath Kol. Sensing the exile's blood in the girl's veins, it attacked her, viciously burning the left side of her body and blinding her. Bath Kol arrived to stop the beast from delivering its final blow, but in order to destroy it she was forced to sacrifice her own life. Elizabeth had been severely injured but survived, to the relief of some Grigori. Bath Kol's death seemed to outweigh that fact though. Knowing that they were now targets of a much larger force, the Grigori became closer than ever before. When Elizabeth recovered, despite the scars remaining, she was sent to a facility for a few years to learn how to deal with her lack of sight. When she returned at the age of six and a half, Azazel took her under his wing. ( Perhaps, to her obliviousness, literally. ) She continued to live with her father, but their relationship was strained. He knew the secret behind her dreams as well and often acted as if there was something wrong with her. Elizabeth was under the impression that he hated her for Bath Kol's - a woman whom she knew as Basima - unexpected death, which may also be true. Though he did care for her, the awkwardness was too much, and when she was eighteen she immediately chose to move to an apartment on the other side of the city with the money her mother had left for her.

Nowadays she lives mostly in solitude, choosing to listen to stories and music and spend time with her only full-time companion, a guide dog named Samuel. Elizabeth has a part-time job as a pianist hired to play at restaurants or bars, though she doesn't enjoy the business of such a situation, so normally turns down offers; only the most tempting will convince her to play. She and Azazel are still close, although their personalities often clash. Being the good friends that they are, they will meet up the next day as if it never occurred, though ... or at least, that is how Liz views their relationship. She and Samuel often visit him at his diner, In Too Deep. To this very day she is still unaware of being something more than human.
Weapons:
A walking cane can hurt, as long as there is enough strength behind the blow. Otherwise she's got her own hands, feet and if need be, teeth.
