You awake in a start.

Your body covered in a layer of sweat and with your every muscle and nerve screaming at you,
you lay there for a moment before the heat compels you to push off the thick blankets covering
you, though a sudden rush of excruciating pain punishes the tiniest movement. You struggle to
find your injury, but it seems not confined to a particular area but rather washed over your entire
body. You groan in pain and grind your teeth in a weak effort to quell your intense headache,
obviously to little avail. A blinding light doesn't help the problem, but eventually it shrinks and
reveals itself nothing more than a tiny candle atop the bed stand next to you.

Fighting the exhaustion and pain, you attempt to make sense of your surroundings, though
nothing quite seems familiar. Where are you? What in the hell happened? Where you hit by a
damn bus? Sure feels like it... Worried, you try to ignore the agonizing pain and force your
aching bones up, though you're interrupted as an elderly woman suddenly rushes in and forces
you back down with surprising strength. "Oh no no no! Absolutely not! Please be more careful!",
she scolds you, readjusting your blankets and smiling sweetly down at you. "Ima's blessing isn't
something the human body was made to handle. You must calm down!"

You open your mouth to question her, but the dryness allows nothing more than a few hoarse
grunts to escape. Tenderly, she sets her finger over your lips to silence you. "Shh, my child.
Eat this." She places a spoonful of soup in your mouth. Though it irritates the walls of your
throat, you're too exhausted and starved to reject it. "You haven't any idea how lucky you are."
She says after you greedily inhale a few more spoonfuls. "To think Ima would hear your prayers
and grant your wish... you must be so excited!"

Prayers? Wish? What the hell is this lady going on about? The woman irritatingly huffs at the
confused look on your face. "Shame, no one's explained it to you yet. In due time, my dear.
Sleep now. You'll need your energy." Ever smiling, she leans over and pats the sheets as your
eyelids mysteriously grow heavy again. "The duty you've been charged with now isn't one
that you should tackle without your rest..." You struggle all you can to fight back the fatigue and
darkness creeping in on you, but your body cares little of your bewilderment and slowly coerces
you to sleep. Just as your eyes close, the woman leans in and presses her lips against your ear.
"You're a saviour now.", she whispers, before you drift off again into a deep sleep.

The following outlines the application process for this roleplay. Applications that fail to
respect this process will immediately be rejected.

❀ ❛ STEP ONE - SOFT APPLICATION.
The first step is referred to as a soft-application. Through the soft application, moderators
evaluate the applicant's samples and comprehension of the role they are applying for.
Applicants simply need fill out the form found below (labeled "soft application") to the
best of their ability and post it in the application thread. After having done so, moderators
will evaluate it as soon as possible.

❀ ❛ STEP TWO - OPENING THE CONTEST.
Once moderators have evaluated the application, it will either be approved or rejected.
If the application is approved, the role's contest will officially open. Once the contest is
open, any other applicants interested in the role have no more than three days to submit
their own soft-application. Three days after the approval of the first soft-application, the
role contest will close and no further soft-applications will be accepted.

❀ ❛ STEP THREE - HARD APPLICATION.
All applicants in the contest for a role must submit a hard-application within two days of
their soft-application having been approved. Unlike the soft-application, the hard application
is instead a series of questions tailored specifically toward the player and his/her character.
The applicant may choose one of two methods to submit a hard-application: They may
choose to have a short (~5-10 min) skype interview with a moderator to explain in further
detail their ideas (through the chat, not through a call). Alternatively, they may also
choose to be sent a series of questions through Gaia Private Messages.

❀ ❛ STEP FOUR - EVALUATION.
After the contest has closed, all applications will be evaluated by both moderators through a
rubric grading system, which can be found in the following post. Scores from both moderators
are added and the applicant with the highest score wins the contest.

❀ ❛ STEP FIVE - PROFILE.
Once the applicant has won the contest, (s)he has no more than five days to complete his/her
profile. Should the profile be accepted, the player will be considered officially part of the roleplay.
If not, the role will be re-opened for contest.

❀ ❛ ADDITIONAL RULES .
- All moderators reserve the right to modify or change any part of the application process
- whenever necessary.
- A player may participate in no more than two active contests at a time.
- Applicants with no competitors are not guaranteed the role, and must complete all steps
- of the application as usual. In such a case, in order to be accepted, the applicant must
- achieve a minimum score of 20 from each moderator and a minimum combined score
- of 45.
- Being scored a 1 by any moderator in any category (except the last) will result in the
- application's immediate rejection.
- Regardless whether or not an applicant wins the contest, a result of tallied points and
- comments will be sent after the evaluation has been completed.
- Unless otherwise stated by a moderator, rejected applicants are welcome to reapply.

❀ ❛ ADDITIONAL TIPS .
- If an applicant cannot/does not use skype, in-browser chat clients such as meebo or
- tinychat may be used instead! Keep in mind that the interview is conducted through
- instant messaging and not through audio or video calls.
- Not only are interview hard-applications faster to complete than PMs, but they also
- can help boost an applicant's score! See the grading rubric for further details.
- It is highly encouraged that applicants maintain an active OOC presence throughout
- their contest.

Hi there, I’m Korpse Kitty, but outside the gaia realm my name is Becca. I’m currently 21 years old and a full time student studying Chemistry and Criminal Justice (forensics). I’ll be graduating on May 1st with my bachelor’s degree and then hopefully getting into medical school within the next year and a half. Some of my hobbies include going to concerts, music festivals, and spinning fire poi. I love doing things outdoors in the summer time, so my friends and I will often go up to a place called Cheaha Mountain, where we can swim and go hiking. I also really enjoy going to cons in the southeast and cosplaying. When I’m not doing something really fun like that, though, I’m usually just watching anime. Lots…and lots…of anime.

I currently reside in CST. I typically log on at least once a day and can be active in the OOC chat pretty much every day (unless I am out of town). I am able to post in the IC at least once a week. Being a college senior, preparing to graduate in May might make me more busy than usual some days, especially when finals start. But luckily, after graduation I plan to take some time off before getting a full time job and beginning the application process for medical school. Therefore, after May 1st, I should be very free. )

-She was chosen by Ima because her of her ability to naturally see Kalim and her determination in finding the truth behind them. After the death of her brother and Amour going missing, Widow began to lose hope. That’s when Ima decided to pull her from her despair and restore her faith. Ima's Blessing allowed her to find a new purpose in life and she now focuses solely on defeating Kalim and finding Amour.

-Her spiritual affinity leans towards VOID, which has given her an impeccable memory and she is able to recall things from her childhood that would otherwise be forgotten. Her affinity has also led to her having a calmer disposition, which allowed her to see the Kalim as a child without becoming frightened.

-She used her vlog as a way to try and gain leads on the Kalim. She didn’t know what they were at the time, but she knew that they were somehow connected to the misfortune that humans had been experiencing lately. She began to notice that Kalim would surround themselves around people who were going through tough times.

-After falling in love with Amour, he was the only person she felt comfortable enough with to explain the things she had been seeing. Little did she know that the Kalim would begin targeting him after he became aware of their existence.

Hello! My I'm Nibs. I go by Sam as well. I am currently 23. I graduated college last May where I majored in Psychology. I had a part-time job at an AODA treatment facility for correctional clients but recently took a full-time job where I help clients with a wide array of mental health needs. Outside of making the moo-lah, I am an avid reader and love role playing! Despite my love for writing, I find that plotting and getting to know my partners are the best parts. I like to make friends and (hopefully) lasting RP partners! What else? I enjoy watching movies. I'm a sucker for Pixar and Disney and have NO shame in admitting I love them (have you watched Big Hero 6 and Book of Life? THE FEELS). You know what else I love? Pandas. Ever see this? It'll melt your heart!

I'm online fairly often. When I'm mobile, it's hard typing lengthy replies via phone. so my responses are limited during that time. I work a full-time job and my schedule is subject to change. As a float, I'm the person that fills in for those that need time off. However, I don't mind letting people know my schedule and when to expect me online. I only have a few OnexOnes. Two are very slow and the other is just getting started. So I have plenty of free time to dedicate to this RP! I live in Central Time Zone.

I'm interested in Mind Matter: I love her mystery! Not much is known about her and I am excited to learn more throughout the development of her character. I could see her amnesia creating an internal struggle since she has no grasp on what is true or false. After all, people and stimuli seem familiar but her environment treats her like a stranger. This disconnect fills her with doubt in regards to her instincts that tell her that she has had a connection with her surroundings. She has no evidence that she ever met them besides that insistent gut feeling. On top of her quest to find the truth about her situation, she has been thrown into a world where people tell her what she has become without any regards to what, and who, she was. When you add that to her sleepwalking to various locations, she probably feels like she is losing her mind. This could be what drives her towards finding the truth. I do not know the plans you have for her so I'll just speak to the general gist of what I have in mind. I would like to go for a female that does not fight to gain power, but to protect the things she cherishes. I have the sense that she would be determined to do anything within her power to do so. I don't know how “battle ready” she was before she lost her memories, but I could see her having limited skills with weapons at the start (clumsy with poor grasp of her weapon/magic), yet feel some weapons hold naturally in her hand (possibly that familiar feeling of her “past life.”) I'm leaning on “disks” (similar to Colette's weapon in Tales of Symphonia), a scythe or some sort of staff as her weapon, possibly something that looks “earthly” because I would like her to have a spiritual affinity to Nature as I think it blends well with the personality I chose. Despite her weakness with her magic and wielding her weapon, she could have the heart/determination to practice and overcome her initial short comings. It could be during a battle where someone is in danger that something sparks a memory (maybe simply a motor memory) and some prior skill returns. Welp – I think that's all I can fit. Other ideas in progress: a few likes, personality, possible images and a name.

You guys can call me Kiya, for I don't love my real name xD I am turning 20 on April 5th ~. My hobbies generally include being on gaia and roleplaying, art, video games, hanging out with my boyfriend. There's not too much exciting to know about me, I suppose. On gaia I pretty much only roleplay nowadays. I used to do art commissions but now I don't have a whole lot of time/interest.
Other than that, I really enjoy watching anime, and shows. Right now I'm enjoying American Horror Story and Fairy Tail. Though I've found that I hardly watch much TV and prefer to be on my computer on Gaia x'D OTL

Availability? I have too much time on my hands. However, I did just accept a job offer that will have wonky schedules, I'm sure - working in Produce at a grocery store. But other than that I pretty much log onto Gaia every day, I'm almost always logged in and post about once a day when I can, if there's a response. I'm in College, but I'm only taking two online courses at the moment.

Let's see, I'm very interested in the Mind Matter role. 1. I really prefer playing females and 2. I love the idea of being in the amnesiac kind of forgotten role. In my eyes, and from the descriptions given to me in your background story, I imagine her to be a sort of glitch in The Flow. When said "Every time that energy is borrowed, the being that borrows it leaves an imprint of itself behind", with this role I think of another soul (possibly another Saviour that has formerly passed) that has sort of imprinted on her mind, and her mind is too weak to keep it away, therefore she glitches and thinks she knows the rest of the Saviours, but they don't know her - yet she is still somehow some kind of Saviour to be able to wield Kamiki to defeat the Kalim.
Either that or I imagine that she's done something, possibly evil or becoming some sort of Kalim herself, that her and her other Saviour's memories were corrupted and she's trying to sort out what happened. Like Ima had punished her for something and gave her that second chance because was she was supposed to be a Saviour. At this moment I'm not sure which idea I like best.
As for her sleepwalking, I think it would contribute to her loss of being able to feel connected to the world and what she thinks are supposed to be her friends (or just other Saviours), or even her mind. I think for her it would be hard to understand what happened, and she would instantly go into some kind of panic attack - possibly if it was on the more "evil" or punishment side of things, some other symptoms would occur - or she would have more flashes of what was, or what she thinks was supposed to be.
Really, the mystery to her is amazing, and she'd be a challenge to work with. I'd want to work with you guys, too, to see what might fit better in the roleplay and what kind of scene you guys want to have.

Generally I mirror my partner with my responses, so I could have two-eight paragraphs. Generally right around four-five, but most are hearty -ish. xD

I have three ideas of what I'd want her to look like, and of course, mostly different personalities, in which I have basically all fleshed out in my head. I think I might go with the first one, though, if I go with the idea of punishment and some sort of "evil". Why hello, there ~ ! I'm moolah/moo, female nineteen-year-old college freshmeat with a part-time job. My interests range from writing, art, baking/cooking, and much, much more. I'm also a semi-obsessive health and fitness enthusiast ahaha ~ (Healthy) sweets and tea are my absolute favorites! I love basically anything Japanese and Korean. I currently have too much anime and other shows to watch for which I never seem to have enough time. /sobs I've been roleplaying for a long time (I think 6-7 years...?) and I'm on this site waaaay more than I probably should be orzz. ;;

I'm in EST, and I have classes from Monday through Friday and work on the weekends. However, I usually log on everyday for at least an hour or two except maybe during finals week and the like (I always get alerts on my phone though, so it's all good ~ ). At the moment, I have 3 active but slow group roleplays as well as a few one x ones. I'm kind of addicted to this site and to roleplaying because I don't do any other social networking so usually nothing can keep me away for long. >D

Oh jeez, I had such a hard time picking ONE role haha (I love them all <33). I was going to apply for another (maybe I will a little later on), but for now I'm just going to apply for PRISON PRINCESS because I think she's super adorable ~ !

I feel like I can understand and even relate to her feelings because she was locked away and had no way of communicating/interacting with anyone from the outside world other than through gaming websites. Her early deprivation and, in a sense, loss of childhood really fascinates me; I have a lot of sympathy for her and would very much like to explore how her situation has impacted her personality and views on life. I imagine that she is still a naive child who is also incredibly imaginative/creative and fanciful because she has had to amuse herself and live in her own world and fantasies while growing up. She is also idealistic and romantic, constantly dreaming about meeting her crush and finally getting her happy ending. As a result, she tends to be unrealistic, though her ambition and passion are certainly admirable. Being locked away for so long has fostered her inquisitive nature - now, she wants nothing more than to explore the world and to meet new people (including her crush, of course). However, she tends to be tenacious and therefore clings to those who show her kindness because she is afraid of losing those she holds dear to her heart; she has never had any true relationships with others in real life, which is why she is reluctant to let go once she becomes attached. I want her to experience many new things and eventually come to the realization that real life is different than what she expects and that, in the end, not everything always works out.

Please call me Ivy or Ivoreh, but if you want to truly get my attention, my name is Abby! I'm 18, and I'll be graduating high school in a few months from the time I've posted this. I'm unemployed, and I'm the president of a LGBT club at my school. I'm learning to sew (the goal being cosplays). I love bunnies, gemstones, and obsessing over fictional people I make for roleplays! I'm really friendly, but I am diagnosed (for real) with ADD (which comes with depression and anxiety) so if something bad happens in my life, I grow a bit quiet online. I lose energy easily in real life, but I always pull through for things I adore, and I definitely adore this roleplay.

 

If I go MIA, something's gone wrong! This shouldn't happen. I usually log on every day, but it's not every day I can chat or post. Usually it's just due to homework and art, but there will be times where I can't churn out a worthwhile post because of my ADD. I also attend two other roleplays, but both are laid back so it doesn't matter when I post. This roleplay would be my priority! In school, I'm usually unavailable on Wednesdays due to being the president of the LGBT+ club. Also, I'm in the CST timezone.

 

I've got my eyes on Mind Matter, mainly because my specific character in mind fits like a glove for that spot, I think!
+ My character would be a bit more aggressive than I initially considered for this situation. I immediately considered the fright from confusion and unreality based on the amnesia described, but realized my character would instead grow enraged when others did not recognize her, thus taking it out on those around her.
+ Aforementioned rage would make her a chaotic fighter, but with her aggressive and nearly bloodthirsty nature to blow off steam on her situation, she would have potential to both fight well AND make poor, conflict yielding decisions that could injure her or others.
+ Being the alleged newbie based on the FAQs, she's new, but she will be determined to catch up to others, considering herself potentially an “equal,” since she feels like she knows the people around her.
+ This character is one I've also built to have a bit of an ego when she's comfortable in a situation, which would be a nice offset again to a person filled with holes like Mind Matter – she knows who she is, she just doesn't know who she is.
+ Amid a strong, fierce personality, she would have the inevitably unfulfilled side to her, usually by the sleep walking defined in the description. Her trances, dreams and all else included would be potent – leaving her uncharacteristically dreamy, and not all there – maybe she could even be more powerful In these states – or maybe even a different fighting style entirely, if made to fight?
+ When conscious, she would grow incredibly embarrassed of these states if mentioned, possibly even growing upset or emotional to the point of shutting out those who implore her – how could she know why she's sleep walking and doing all these things?
+ This is a character I've developed for years, and feel very confident putting in this situation. I've applied amnesia to her character before, and have a good feel on how she would roll under it. I shouldn't have any problems writing it!
+ Finally, I feel like something's really in store for this character position, and I'd love to be involved in whatever we hatch for a plan!

 

I hope my casual style of typing in the ooc didn't set a bad first impression. When I get excited or I'm in a casual setting, my typing style relaxes because I consider you all my friends, like, immediately. I'll especially be casual in ooc, and if I get excited ic, I may have an ooc note clusmily describing how excited I probably am. Also, unrelated, but I'm not much of a formatter for posts – it won't be much, in fact, the rock band rp I link in the next section is the fanciest I've bothered. If anyone would like further, I could certainly try!

So, if you lurk in my forum posts, it's not my full power, but it is what I can churn out happily. The rock band roleplay pulled a fast one on me and I had to adapt to a cooperating character suddenly leaving becoming somebody else without warning in my brief inactivity, but I made it work. I participate frequently in a Pokemon gijinka guild, in which I have an ongoing series of the death of a character of mine, soon to reincarnate into a gijinka – if I so choose. There is also an entire page in one topic presently regarding a battle that is ongoing. Both have me just freely typing as I please – but I like to think this is what I can offer! Hello my name is Sonea, although feel free to call me Nara. Despite the sometimes odd looking avatar I am female, but don't really if you take me for a male. I'm 23 years old studying animation and illustration at university in my second year. I enjoy drawing, animation and sculpting but also gaming and currently taking singing lessons. Walking is something I also enjoy along with reading and of course writing, but I wouldn't really call them a hobby. Anime and manga, including Korean manga, but I only watch TV on a rare occasion. I've had some rough patches with roleplays lately so I've been roleplaying offsite for some time.

Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the days i'm in uni and Sunday night I'm not on as late as usual as I need the sleep. On these days it's unlikely that I will reply but even whilst i'm at uni, I can follow the roleplay on my phone and do head back every day. I have course work but I can fit it around roleplaying along with two other roleplays which are offsite.

Background

- Raised as a second son into a family who didn't care about him
- Quit school due to bullying
- Parents agreed with his decision not wanting to be associated with him
- Sought out gaming as an escape from reality
- Became a professional gamer
- Met Prison Princess who influenced his view on people
- Started to spend less time gaming which he spent talking to her and doing online courses
- Physical condition worsened and was hospitalized
- Was kicked out of his home
- Attempted to take his own life unable to take the world anymore
- Ima's interventions saved his life
- His parents regretting their decision sought him out
- Meeting with his parents, they wouldn't believe it was him
- He became a suspect due to knowing so much about himself


General
Despite the change of appearance, he fears someone he knows recognizing him. His parents had been the test so that he could go out and live a new life. He suffers from nightmares from his school days but can often be caught playing games. Another problem for him is that due to not leaving home for so long, he struggles to communicate, be in large crowds all added to the fact that he is terrible at directions. Despite his ranting and raging whilst being blunt at people is his way of trying to help someone. This usually happens as he doesn't know the best way to say it with words added to nervousness of being mocked. If he is mocked however, he usually loses his temper becoming defensive speaking his honest thoughts. Due to the physical changes to his body, he struggles to know his own strength often leading him to being heavy handed.


Other

- Personality: honest, hardworking, protective, heroic, resourceful // aggressive, blunt, envious short tempered & unsociable.

- Trigger Temper and Bark Bite: I was thinking that due to the way he was treated, he would secretly want revenge which shows through as dislike. A thought to go with it that something happens causing him to regret that decision, whether it's something that happened or said possibly within the roleplay.

- Prison Princess: I had the thought of the two had an argument or a disagreement which contributed to the rash decision.
