Yuri was always a picky eater, until her mother started playing chef with her food to soothe her selective appetite. That was the beginning of her ambitions to become a culinary connoisseur. A bit of a difficulty when your taste palette only limits you to one ingredient. She cares little for for taste or filling her stomach, but only for the sheer pleasure of mastering the human manner of cooking. Though others may find her ambitions laughable for a ghoul, she takes it with utmost seriousness, letting nothing stand in her way of finding the best cooking methods or attaining the highest quality 'ingredients'. Try not to be fooled by her pretty face or sweet manner; her cooking is literally to die for.

In the beginning, Karen was originally born within the Ward that Nagano was held up in. Her family use to be a well known one too. They were also pretty large. They were also known to be the tastest of ghoul's of all among their own kin within the other ghoul's that lived in Nagano. Due to this, one by one, a family member of hers would be given up each two years. As a way to keep their status within the Ward as well as to get by with those in charge's help. Growing up, the only friend Karen had was Yuri. Where she would be brought along with those times her mother cooked. In the end though, the pact her parent's had with the leader ended, and the Tsukimori's ran away. Both parent's died by the Investigators. It was only by luck, that those within Hashirama found her. It was also the Leader that decided to help Karen out. They became 'Sisters' after that. Karen would do what she can to help her leader to do what she can for their kin in the 20th Ward. Even though secretly on the side, she has been in touch with her old childhood friend.

The Takeda Family was once a rich and well known family in the 11th District before their much anticipated fall that the family fought hard to avert. The Takeda Family was at a state of decline largely due to CCG taking down members of the Takeda line and The Rival families who took advantage of this until members of the household were forced to make the decision to arrange a marriage with the Head's last surviving son. Yasu Takeda and the daughter of a close and trusted family were to be married to preserve each other's family, unfortunately, the marriage never happened and the Takeda's had no choice but face death. All hope wasn't lost as Yasu was sent to the 7th District to be saved by those still loyal to the Takeda where Yasu now continues to live to preserve whatever semblance of glory his family may still have.

DESPITE SEEMINGLY BEING AN AFFABLE, PERFECTLY PLEASANT PERSON, MIZUHASHI KAZUKI IS ACTUALLY QUITE THE OPPOSITE. OBVIOUSLY, THOUGH, THE BOY WAS NOT ALWAYS THIS WAY.
