For the past few weeks at Hogwarts, it had been quite normal... Or I should say, as normal as Hogwarts could possibly get. The classes went fine, the weather was actually quite nice, and the homework seemed easier. This probably was all because Penelope was now a seventh year! Oh how it took seven years to reach the end of Hogwarts, a long long seven years... She has learned much of the years, actually she's learned a great deal of magic since her first year here. Some would say that she might just be the smartest in the class, but she always denies that. Partially because the good grades are basically all luck, she hardly ever pays attention to her courses. She just gets extremely good grades because even when she's not paying attention, her mind absorbs the information anyways. It's a neat little trick actually, if it weren't for that, Penelope would probably be failing Hogwarts right now. What distracts this young girl you ask? What could possibly be far more interesting than transforming into a cat? Well... There is only one thing in this world that can hold Penelope's interests down, and that is vampires. They're here obsession, partly the reason why she sits alone at the Ravenclaw table now. No one else in all of Hogwarts shares this interest, or no one who's willing to admit it. So, the girl has no real friends, only study buddies. Her parents aren't too fond of this, they wished for their little daughter to be Top Girl and to have lots of friends... Guess Penelope just didn't turn out the way they wanted her to.

Even sitting beside nice people at their house table, Penelope was quiet as the eerie night. No one really spoke to her, they all practically ignored her. It was the student body's decision that they should all just leave her alone, and nick name her the Vampire Girl. Which wouldn't be too far from the truth, as she secretly wants to be on. But this is all ok with her, she doesn't care at all. Penelope has her Vampire books, that's all she needs... Besides passing grades, oxygen, food and water of course. She never had a friend or a boyfriend before, so she can't get sad if she has no idea what she's missing. So, there Penelope sits. Right at the front of the Ravenclaw table, quite close to where the Professors and the Headmistress sit at their own table. This was her spot, everyone knew it. For some reason, she just liked sitting here, farther away from the moronic class mates. But today, her fellow Ravenclaws were being less idiotic than usual. And that's definitely saying something, even for a Ravenclaw, you can be a little stupid. They had stopped talking about their silly cats or their girlfriends/boyfriends. In fact, they were hardly talking, and just kept murmuring to each other back and forth. Penelope could pick up a few whispers going on, apparently there was talk about a new professor. Of course, a new DADA professor. 'A new DADA professor? Oh how surprising,' Penelope slightly scoffed in her mind, it was usual for the DADA professor to be switched out yearly. It had happened so much, that the students didn't really care who was teaching them any more... Which makes it only more strange that all the students, especially the girls, were whispering about it.

There had to be something great about this new professor to get all the students talking, it was very unusual for the student body to take such interest. So casually, Penelope let her eyes wander to the Professor's and Headmistress's table, the new DADA teacher had to be sitting in their usual spot. Her hazel eyes slowly went over each regular professor, down the line she went, and a small gasp escaped her lips. He was sitting next to Mrs.Armstrong the headmistress, and she definitely wasn't expecting the professor to be so young! What was he? Like Twenty One years old? That was extremely unusual for Hogwarts. Usually they only hired old farts to be the professors, definitely not young teachers like himself. Penelope finally understood what all the girl chatter was about, they were all definitely swooning over him. Her eyes had slightly paused themselves on the new professor, unable to look away. He was just a commodity, just looking at him made her skin shiver. His dark eyes were enchanting, how could Mrs.Armstrong hire someone so charming? What happened to the usual grey haired, bearded wrinkly man?

The girl slightly jumped off her bench upon hearing the headmistresses' booming voice, she was now introducing the new professor. Octavian Malmesbury was his name, and he indeed was the new professor for Defense Against the Dark Arts. Oh how he was going to be the favourite teacher of the year, everyone, or should I say, every girl is going to love him. It was actually quite amusing, the girls were already swooning. Penelope could over hear many conversations being held, and they weren't the purest of conversations about Mr.Malmesbury. 'Hm, well lucky me I suppose. I have DADA first in the morning,' Penelope thought, considering she really couldn't brag to anyone else about it. Her eyes slowly went back to Mr.Malmesbury's direction, it was like there was a magnetic connection. She wanted to stop looking, it was rude to stare... But, if he didn't notice... There was no harm in it, right? It's not like anything bad could happen from a simple look, he wasn't going to bite or anything. 'I wish this feast would just end already, do we really need to stay any longer?'
