Usually a quick glance at the door when it opened was enough to tell Ivan that he needn't worry and could go back to his drink, but not this time. This time, his gaze lingered, and his eyes narrowed. Alfred stood out in places he fit in better, and to say he didn't fit in in a gritty dive bar would qualify for understatement of the year. That he'd found him there and with how pristine he looked immediately set Ivan on edge more than being completely alone with him would have. The man was up to something... but what? What was he planning? Why did he not wait until after Ivan had left the bar to ambush him?
The temperature in the room seemed to drop a few degrees, though whether that was from the door being left open too long or from Ivan's distrust growing as the moments ticked by was hard to discern. It didn't help that violet was locked with blue in those long moments, and Alfred was, at least at this point in time, terribly difficult to read.
"What are you plotting?" Ivan wanted to ask, but no... that would be too straightforward, of course. Too straightforward and would surely cause a conflict. He'd be accused of being too suspicious of Alfred's motives, would be told he needed to learn to trust the man sometimes - though they'd all seen how well that had turned out - that sometimes he wasn't up to something... but for now, all he could do was wait and see.
