While one of my favorite decks to tinker with the past few years has been my Synchron deck, "Lemon Lot," most folks who have known me on here for a while know that my signature style actually involves Ritual Monsters.
Lately I've been experiencing good things with my current version of this build, but I've been getting advice from folks on how to improve it just a bit more. With some upcoming tin promos likely sending the price of a few key cards plummeting, I figured my main excuse against one exceptionally viable card has gone away...as such, I brainstormed for a while earlier, and came up with this:
Releaser plays what has been the most pivotal role in this deck's recent success; by bringing out a Ritual Monster with it, I lock out my opponent's ability to Special Summon entirely. No Fusion Summons, Synchro Summons, Xyz Summons, Monster Reborn, Gorz, or anything. This leaves them having to overcome a (or, as has occasionally been the case, multiple, with one Northwemko protected by another brought out earlier) 2700-ATK monster with built-in protection from destruction effects before they can gain access to any of their usual power plays...3200 if she's empowered by the Seal of Orichalcos, which often serves as a prime target for her protection effect. The Seal also allows my weaker forces, like Manju and Armageddon Knight, to deal with the 2 biggest pains in the a** this deck has ever faced: Thunder King Rai-Oh and Steelswarm Roach, both of which are now in kamikaze range.
Now that Tour Guide's coming out as a promo card, including it for speedier access to Releaser finally seems viable to me; the fact that the two can overlay into Leviair (also coming out as a promo) to revive banished Djinns for further Ritual Summoning (or bringing back Armageddon Knights to keep Dark Armed Dragon fueled.)
Extra Deck's been adjusted to include more defensive options, including Maestroke and Zenmaines. Both can survive the Seal's activation and/or protect themselves from destruction multiple times, making them viable targets for Northwemko's effect.
Anyway, that's that. Feedback appreciated.
