Seriously. Defensive players actually really bother me. Which is why I don't play as clerics. It's much too boring. I'd much rather just kill s**t.
Personally I don't mind defensive, I do mind "I'd rather sit here and waste all of our time" players.

Those bother me, too. I'm very impatient, it seems. :/

I have a few stories from a MTG player buddy. He tells me of a legendary time in the games past called "Combo Winter". The stories are... horrific.

I knew a yugioh player many years ago who talked s**t to the rest of us after he got a girlfriend. As a boyfriend, he felt above us all. When we asked him for a pic of her, we all cringed and vomited our souls out.

The rest of my stories are pretty general, opponent hates ruling/my deck, lulzumadbros ensue. Nothing of special note, aside from the walrus ******** up there.
Those people who are silent and just stare behind thick glasses...
I've actually got a reverse of the stories posted. Kinda. Its sorta related anyway.

So, I was at a Dark Ascension tourny thing, a few weeks ago and I just play casually, like really casually generally with some friends and a friend asked if I wanted to come, so I agreed. I knew the game, just didn't have a huge store of cards, he said the buy in got you six packs to make a deck out of and everyones was gonna be shitty, I said awesome and agreed.

The games are going great and I am having a great time. I've seen a few guys who are like Hardcore into this game like this guy who is cool and chill before but the second he sits down he doesn't say a word. And it kinda throws me cause I am just tryna be a nice guy throughout.

Towards the end, I get paired against this kid who is really good. He has a good deck that is pretty well thoughtout, he drafted well. And he wins the first game, and we are on the second. About halfway through the second game I have a Vorapede with three +1/+1 counters on it, a pretty terrifying sight, but he kills it and I am like 'Well..damn in that case I will attack you with..an Undying Wolf! Muwahaha" and he cracks a smile. First emotion I have really seen all game.

After the game he comes up to me, he won, and he says "I gotta give it to you, you kept things fun, even while you were losing, I wish more people would"

The worst player (I don't mean he's a bad player, but he's just not fun to play against or talk to) I've played against is this guy who thinks he's really really good, and he thinks he deserves to win every game he plays and you can tell whenever he's disappointed about a loss because he'll get really angry. But he has nothing to show for it. He never comes with us to PTQs or Grand Prixes. He has a legacy countertop deck but he never goes to the local legacy tournaments and he didn't go to the SCG Open when it was in Seattle. I wish he would get off his high horse and accept that he's just an average player like the rest of us.

I have met someone of similar punches. But my unhappy little card player gets afraid to play against people who have a chance of winning.

North Seattle then.

For those not in the area, there is no mtg scene in Seattle. everything is either north of it or south of it.

I was wondering if you knew the person I referred to as the "know-it-all" who plays like that. Completely defensive with no win con simply to prolong the game or make it a draw. He has an Energy Field / Wheel of Sun and Moon Deck that is pretty annoying.
people who lean in too close, smell bad, breath with their mouths open, or stare at your tits. HYGIENE and MANNERS, people. Jeebus.
o-o hygiene does seem to be a problem
The worst I've seen when it comes to bad hygine is some really greasy kid. Like... bathes in grease
