What is Arcane Spellcasting?
Arcane spellcasting is casting spells without having to rely on a god for your power. In D&D Arcane spellcasters are Sorcerers and Wizards. In other Role Playing Games most magic users are arcane.
Why Is Arcane Spellcasting So Freakin' Awsome?
Because it leaves pathes open for greater customization with characters. Your average fighter reches a point where there are no weapons that are more powerfull than his +100000 vorpal glowing longsword of killing stuff. However, as an arcane spellcaster you can always learn new spells or level up existing ones, and nothing is better that using a super powerfull Fireball or meteor storm to blow stuff up.
