Burner, it's called an Honor code. Both people have the ability to cheat, but neither do on the condition that they're playing a fair game. If you tried to cheat, then you'd never know if your opponent was. And if everyone's second-guessing everyone else, we'll never get anywhere.
Not to mention most experienced players can tell the difference between being lucky, and cheating. It's pretty easy to spot once you know how to. If we can tell that someone's cheating, then they'll be disqualified, and be done with it.
Yes, the honour code is a nice concept, but be real. All your spouting is a code. Codes are nothing more than guidelines, not impossible to break. In the end there is absolutely nothing from an opponent claiming that the draw that could make or break the match is a good one instead of a dead draw. After all, it's all about how proud you want to be in beating someone you will probably never meet IRL.
As for how YVD is unreliable - Despite how Hamachi can cure some connection glitches you are 100% right i'm afraid. YVD does have it's own set of flaws. But I honestly belive that losing a great lead due to connection failure is worth avoiding these cheating scumbags online.
