MSN? You're putting duels that test your guild pride on MSN? Uh....ain't that a recipe for cheating?

Make it YVD if you wanna make it about skill and not pride.
Yes, but on YVD, you can make a killer deck with the cards you don't even have.

You can do the exact same via MSN - Claim to use cards you don't really have. You could go so far as to just make the deck on YVD and use that to decide card draws for yourself on offline mode (lord knows i've done that with my real decks just so i dont have to fetch my deck just to duel someone via MSN)

The difference is - YVD backs up the fake decks with honest draws. You cant garantee that on MSN. And with duels where so much pride is on the line i wouldn't trust a single word my opponent says as far as I could throw them.
If so much pride is on the line, I doubt anyone will cheat.
If anyone truly had pride, they wouldn't.

Don't mistake pride for respect.

Respect is an honourable art.
Pride is a deadly sin.

Either way you look at it, who'd be proud of cheating?

No one, but you would be proud of winning. In the end it just depends on how each individual values Pride of Honour over Pride of Victory.

Personally, I have too much experiance with those who choose Pride of Victory to trust chat dueling in important competitions.
Hey Yuki.

I'm finally MSN compatible so I guess I'll join in.

However, I do have classes so when you do set up matches I need to know when will be a good time

YVD doesn't work on my laptop.

You're just scared of us.

Yuki - No offence but I'll speak to Jason about this issue. As I cannot make YVD work on my laptop it will be a hard problem to over come.

I also know for a fact that non of the members selected on this team are cheaters. So you might wanna take your accusations else where.

I don't cheat alright? I can back it up to. I would watch your mouth.
Burner, it's called an Honor code. Both people have the ability to cheat, but neither do on the condition that they're playing a fair game. If you tried to cheat, then you'd never know if your opponent was. And if everyone's second-guessing everyone else, we'll never get anywhere.

Not to mention most experienced players can tell the difference between being lucky, and cheating. It's pretty easy to spot once you know how to. If we can tell that someone's cheating, then they'll be disqualified, and be done with it.

Yes. Also without proof the accuser could be a cheater themselfs.

Either way it's a game. I play for fun and well I think guild wars sounds fun. Also somebody has got to have no life to cheat on a game.
There are problems both ways.
With text dueling there's the trust factor.
You have to type up everything and keep track of everything manually.

With YVD there's the connection and compatibility factor.
Some computers don't support IRC or any other programs YVD might need to run properly.
There's also the connection factor. Sometimes your internet might disconnect, and you'll be forced to reconnect your YVD and start your duel over again. Now, if you're winning, won't that just be a b***h? I'd rather be able to resume as I reconnect the internet, than be forced to start over.
Then there's always the glitchyness of YVD. YVD is a fan-made program, much unlike YGO! Online, and tends to be very glitchy. Among these glitches include cards disappearing all of a sudden, the program itself crashing, and many more which I've experienced firsthand.

This is why I'd rather text duel. Sure, your opponent can cheat, but I know I'm not. It keeps things simple.

Amen to that.
