Well the good news is you already have huntmasters which are fairly expensive but necessary. The deck can live without equipment, I think maybe a aggro/midrange angle is the way to be, effective little dudes with burn spells then a few huntmasters at the top of the curve. Maybe a mix of Incinerate/gutshot/brimstone volley. It needs more instant speed spells so you can pass turns to flip them. You could also take more of a RDW style angle (with a green splash) to make shrine of burning rage good, or you can be more of a green beatdown to midrange build. There are tons of options and plenty of room to customize. The issue is figuring the dude to spell ratio to flip them consistently.
Okay, wow. Just did a block draft on MTGO a few minutes ago, wound up with something reasonably close to this deck (about 9 Werewolves total), gave it a run...
...and holy COW is the Transformation mechanic a lot less impressive than I thought. Getting these things to transform and STAY transformed is damn near impossible! D: (My biggest mistake was being completely unaware of the fact that it took my opponent's spells into account as well...all this time I honestly thought it only took stuff I cast into consideration!)
So yeah, never mind. Reality check has killed my interest in going anywhere with this build. Back to my Commander shenanigans it is, then!
Fair enough XD, yea its tough to transform them (specifically against tempo based decks) if control decks miss a beat they flip easy, but control decks tend to have enough sweepers to make sure they don't get overwhelmed anyway. EDH shenanigans are more fun anyway cause its easier to brew on a budget (also things are more easy to scale lol)
Immerwolf's already in there, right below Kruin Outlaw.
@Emrakul: I mainly opted for those two in order to have a means of dealing with opposing monsters, artifacts, and enchantments so that there was less in the way of my creatures and my opponent's face. Still, yeah, I see your point about sideboarding Naturalize. Maybe I ought to swap Beast Within out for some P/T-boosters instead?
Sorry i didn't see them. I think i might be a little color blind
The deck is missing enough 1 and 2 drops to be truly competitive but there is an old thread kickin around where I put a stock list together, I haven't updated it since AVR but the set didn't add a ton to it.
