hi, I'm building my first deck. what do you think I should do to improve it.

4x Inferno Fist
4x Crucible of Fire
3x Shiv's Embrace
2x Hammerhand
1x Dragon Mantle

4x Lightning Strike
1x Homing Lightning
1x Heat-Ray

4x Brood Keeper
3x Borderland Marauder
3x Paragon
2x Furnace Whelp
2x Generator Servant
1x Ash Zealot
1x Purphoros, God of the Forge
1x Shivan Dragon
1x Scourge of Valkas

25x Mountain

I also have 4 dragon hatchlings I've been thinking about subbing in.

Offhand I'd say get a couple Madcap Skills and remove a mountain. Looks pretty good for your first deck.

The real question is what do you plan to do with the deck? Casual with friends? Or structured play at FNM?

I play casual with friends, and i'll check out madcap skills. and do you think I should include the hatchlings?

Unless there is a very specific reason, 0/1 that requires mana to do anything is bad.

well I'm running 4 crucibles, If i get one on the field that makes them 2 drop 3/1 flying that I can pump mana into, I was thinking of putting in some Sigiled Skinks as well to help me draw them. what do you think?

well it was standard, but unfortunately its rotating out now. I think I'll just keep it as a casual deck now. also this thread is really out of date. here is my new deck list.

Keeping with the casual theme and keeping it mostly Modern legal to save cash on the stuff you'd need to pick up, I'd go with something like this:
