Well, the old thread didn't take off for personal complications, but I am making this new thread because, while it lasted, the other one was a blast.

The Purpose: To create cards and have a fun time writing. If we were developing planeswalkers, what would their back stories be? Their abilities? What spells would they use? That's where the create a card aspect of this thread comes in.

The Challenge: You will create a planeswalker; a backstory, what colors they employ. You don't have to post the standard 3 lines of abilities, mana cost and starting loyalty for your planeswalker. A situation may come up in a month or so where you'll need to use all 3 abilities on your actual planeswalker card. Scenarios will be given each week. You are to create a card that will deal with the situation. You will be given limitations, of course, like how much mana you can work with etc. At the end of the first challenge, I will grade each card entry for flavor, wording, and playability. Whoever wins the challenge gets an advantage next challenge. More on that later.

RP Portion: After you make a card you must RP the card being used. You will role play your planeswalker in the situation given.

RULES

For your planeswalker, post their name, primary color and secondary color(s). A planeswalker can have up to 2 secondary colors. You can choose to post your walker's backstory in the thread or PM it to me. Post how they got their spark (the ability that lets them planeswalk, usually comes from a life threatening event or severely emotional moment in the walker's life)

Submissions must be in by the end of the month. Anyone may PM myself or The Bree for questions.

The Bree
The idea behind the thread is from DG, but completely (almost) retooled by the Kaiser here and obviously me.
Again, anyone can enter. We're not sure how many players can we handle but probably around 10, so, please, feel free to PM the character profiles to either Kronos or myself.
But, first, some guidelines:

- The title of the PM must say Planeswalker Profile or something like that.
- Keep this in order. I'm not asking you submit it in a form-like way, just keep it ordered. Name, colors of Magic (preferently 2 or 3, not more, and no matter what one of the colors must be your preferred method of Magic, to prevent abuse and other stuff), a brief description (a 2 or 3 sentence paragraph will do) and some story (again, nothing too large unless you absolutely want to put that level of detail into your chara).
- Extra Info: Providing us with some motivations for your character would be very nice. As well as other non-game details (what do you like the most when you arrive on new plane, what do you look for first, what kind of creatures do you prefer to summon, favorite meal and so on).

We want to make of this an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. If you have an absolutely amazing idea to improve the thread, again, any of us will be very glad to hear you.

As soon as any of us replies your message, that means you're on. Then, you're obliged to post here your character profile, deleting any extra info if you like.

I'll work hard to try to get the players some nice character portraits, but i make no promises...

PLANESWALKERS

Name: Noa Onrec (played by Kaiser Khronos)
Primary Color: Black
Secondary Colors: Green/White
Race: Human

Appearance: Short and fair skinned. He has dark short spiked hair and a long ponytail. He has emerald green eyes and a small scar over his left eyebrow. He wears a hooded cloak, usually with the hood down, and leather gauntlets. Otherwise he wears basic clothing, loose shirt and pants. His sword, Kris-like blade, is worn sheathed behind his waist, horizontal. There is an opening in his cloak where the handle protrudes and can be unsheathed with relative ease.

Biography: Noa is a wizard who uses life energy for his magic. He is raised on Rhyvaria, a lushly wooded world where the primary focus of everyday life is to worship all forms of life. Gargantuans roam the forests and are worshiped as gods and are the most revered forms of life. The world is not advanced by most standards, but the denizens of Rhyvaria still have a modern problem; war. Each gargantuan has its own followers, each gargantuan and its people to its own kingdom. Noa's kingdom, Jitrai, have claimed several gargantuans as deities by forming pacts with neighboring kingdoms. Other kingdoms grow jealous of Jirtai's growing power. Although Jirtai is a peaceful kingdom, the jealous kingdoms' religious leaders claim heresy against Noa's kingdom and start rabble rousing. War breaks out but there are only small skirmishes between countries on the outer borders of Jirtai. This goes on for many years. Noa eventually becomes a prominent healer, excelling in his junior classes and becoming the youngest to enter Jirtai's elite order of Healers and Sustainers of Royalty. Soon, Jirtai's king becomes ill and all out war will break out once he dies. Upon his death, war ensues and thousands are killed within a few hours all over Rhyvaria. After a week of seeing his people killed, Noa goes to his ruler's tomb and forces as much life magic into him as he can. The ruler is revived but he is found out by his fellow healers. The war ends as Jirtai's ruler commands his gargantuans to protect his kingdom and uphold the peace. Although his ruler is grateful for his resurrection, his laws state he must exile Noa for his "heresy against life." While exiled in Rhyvaria Noa discovers ruins of an ancient necromancy cult. He finds a sword that allows him to absorb life energy from anything organic, animal, plant, or human. This sword amplifies his powers several fold and let's him create life from plants, preserve the lives of things that are already living, and can raise people and spirits from the dead. Noa almost dies while slaying a gargantuan he accidentally rouses. On the brink of death and in a panic, he forces all of the beast's life energy into him, thus awakening his spark.

Motivations: Once realizing his plane's blind worship of life was incompatible with his new skills, Noa fled Rhyvaria, seeking to help people in need of his services. He usually charges for such feats of necromancy, but sometimes he finds a situation that he will gladly do for free.

Abilities: Noa utilizes his magic to summon plants and fungi. As such, he loves mushrooms. He prefers to summon spirits and have them inhabit plants he has made as they are more obedient to his command. His specialty, however, is pulling life energy from living things into other things, living or dead. Necromancy is his true calling now but he still retains his vast healing and lifeweaving abilities.

Name: Sierra "Crimson Heart" Falroth (played by bamaotaku)
Primary Color: White
Secondary Colors: Red and Green

Image

Background: Sierra Falroth was the only child of a noble family on the plane of Aenswend. In Aenswend, the fate of a child is decided by birth order. All first born children are trained in the ways of war while second borns are trained as healers, with third and over learning the ways of diplomacy and scholarship. Sierra excelled in her destined area, earning quite a reputation for her skill as well as her beauty. She earned the name "Crimson Heart" due to her emotional fighting style and her red hair. However, it wasn't until the invasion of Aenswend that her true legend was born. As civilians fled, she alone stood against a clearly insurmountable force of hundreds of enemies. Positioning herself in a narrow corridor, she fought long and hard as one wave after another was cut down. She had no idea how long she fought or how many enemies died. She kept asking herself for a bit more power. Power to defend her people and protect her home. Each time she thought she couldn't go on, she'd somehow summon up more strength. Then suddenly...there were no more enemies. Not only that, but she wasn't fatigued. Rather, she felt a strange new power surging through her. Only later would she realize that she'd unleashed her dormant spark through sheer force of will.

Name: Isabella Falz (Played by iLL iNTENT )
Primary Color: Blue
Secondary Colors: White/Red

Biography: On the plane of Escendia, a place of unbearable cold, dwell the zeaphus, a militant race blessed with arcane powers. The zeaphus look more or less human, with magenta skin, glowing eyes and straight, white hair. Isabella is a zeaphus, and an Overseer for the militia, providing arcane force to back up the soldiers. She was leading a contingent on an expedition to map some previously undiscovered territory when a giant hairy beast ambushed them from under the snow. It wiped out her platoon before she could manage immolate the beast with a spell, reducing it to frosty charcoal.

Now exhausted and alone, Isabella wandered the frozen wastes, seeking shelter from the blizzard. She discovered a cave, where she made a fire with the last ounce of power she could muster. The walls of the cave were covered with writing, the tales of a Planeswalker whom passed here long ago. Upon reading of his exploits, her own dormant spark ignited, making her realize her own potential, giving her power beyond what any ordinary zeaphus could fathom.

To Isabella, magic is might. She is always searching for new and unusual spells. She is also seeking a new home for the zeaphus, wanting to move her people to a less harsh plane of existence. Her typical summonings include zeaphus warriors, hardy elementals and ferocious beasts native to her homeland.

Name: Aedris Zerothreenine (Played by Designer Genes)
Sex: Female
Race: Human
Age: 17
Height: 5' 6"
Weight: 125 lbs.
Homeplane: Mestar
Primary Color: White
Secondary Colors: Blue and Black

Appearance: Aedris is thin, and somewhat tone. Like all Mestarians, she is completely bald. She has large, blue eyes with no whites (those parts are blue.) She dresses in the traditional grey longcoat, white shirt, and black pants of a Mestarian.
Back Story: On Aedris's homeplane of Mestar, everything is in perfect order. A perpetual utopia, everything is in full order and peace. Millenia ago, great architects finalized a device known as the "Fate Complex Zero" which could know anything that was, is, and will be on Mestar. The world quickly became harmonious, and peaceful.
However, after several millenniums, society had broken down to pure efficiency. Everything existed in a state of perfect order, with no room for change. The Fate Complex allowed those who ruled the world of Mestar perfectly. The people did not resist this absolute control exerted, for any hope was erased by those using the Fate Complex.
All of this changed the day the Planeswalker arrived. Upon arrival, the Fate Complex broke down, for it could only handle information from Melstar. The 'walker was immediately obliterated by the people, and the remains were removed from Melstar. The Fate Complex began working again, but it appeared that the future had changed. The new future dictated that a degree of entropy would occur, and that the Fate Complex would not only fail again, but be unable to recover. In fact, the event was so traumatic, that the machine could not even predict exactly when, where, or how it would happen.
Enter Aedris Zerothreenine. Born soon after this event, she grew up to be like most others on Melstar: boring, and somewhat emotionless. The leaders of Melstar, by now (to try and prevent the fate Complex's downfall) had decided to inspect all people suspected of being Planeswalkers. They realized from studying the past, that the spark could exist on one born of Melstar, and that this event could be the ruination of the Fate Complex. They randomly selected people to be tested for this spark, in part of their "Fatalist Eugenics" initiative.
Aedris was one of the youth (at the age of 17) selected to be in this program. The experiments were cruel, and quite traumatic. Almost immediately, the spark awoke in Aedris, and she was sentenced to death. However, the spark awakening in her healed the subconscious damage that living in such a "lifeless" society had done to her. She began to feel emotions, fear, want, etc. while waiting for her death sentence. On the hour of her execution, she tried to escape to another plane. Not knowing quite how, she drifted off of Mestar, and ended up in the Blind Eternities.

Character motivations: Aedris, while sitting in prison, felt motivation for the first time. While she also felt negative emotion, she desires to bring the positive ones to the people of her world. However, she still retains some of the more calculating thought processes of Mestar, and the general nonchalant attitude towards life that comes with being born in a emotionless world.

Also: Aedris knows little of magic, although her new found creativity may allow her to use the simple utilitarian spells to produce odd effects.

Name: AceofCakes9000
Character: Shyu (last name unkown)
Colors: G/r/u

Info: Shyu is a wanderer, searching the blind eternities for his riven memory so he can take back his kingdom and avenge his own death. He loves nature and the forests, so alien from his homeland, and will protect them using his fine control of Blue magic, and his powerful, tempestous Red magic.
Story: Shyu was born on a plane inhabited mostly by Avens, who had thrived because of the peculiar makeup of land. The entire planet was a vast ocean, dotted with volcanoes poking up from the blanket of water. These volcanoes woud erupt, but due to a strange quirk of nature, the lava would not settle at become landmasses, but float just below the clouds as vast aerial islands. The people of Quiirta placed a high value on blue magic, due to the air and water surrounding them, and both prized and fear fire magic, due to its sporadic but explosive power. Shyu was a prince, living in a large, prosperous city-island, when a rival noble strove to rend his mind as part of a coup. Shyu was filled with rage for the first time in his life, and called a volcano to destroy the corrupt city as he planeswalked away, alive, but with half his memory missing. He now seeks to find his memory and return home to claim his throne, and lead his people out of their craven lives.
Extra: Shyu had never seen a forest, which is where he ended up from his first planeswalk. He spent months there recovering, and has grown to love fresh fruit, like apples and grapes.

Name: Roure Sougen (played by Plasma Raver)
Race:Human
Gender:Male
Age:16 soon going to be 17
Homeplane:NexTerra
Main Color: Red
Secondary Colors: Green and White

Appearance: A lean body frame, lightly muscled. Blond haired with slowly expanding white and green highlights that lead to the back of his skull. Orange irises, surrounded by yellow and red scalera for his eyes. Wears a Jacket made of leather crafted from the flesh and fur of a godsire. Wears a orange shirt under the jacket, a pair of green pants and green shoes that have soles lined in mirrorwood.

Back story: Roure had always known the Plane NexTerra as one of loneliness, with only his family as his protectors from it. He never asked for more then he could take and shouldered every task given to him. His homeplane is considered a graveyard for countered and killed Creatures and Spirits, except for one creature which had been missing for many years, well before he had arrived. It was a battle between two planeswalkers that forced it back, the Ghastlord had been unsummoned. He was a lucky soul in the fact that he was away from his home when it had first came back to NexTerra, it felt the biggest gathering of Lifeforce and went for it to regain its lost energy. Roure had arrived as the spirit had latched onto his mother and shredded his father's head. At the site of the violent deaths he launched all his mana into a single spell, Fireball. As the smoke cleared he noticed two oddities, the Ghastlord was missing, along with his mother, as he looked he noticed something. Normally when a ghastlord dies a puddle of water is left on the ground, said puddle is missing. Also he saw the sight that had unleashed the spark within him, the sight of his mother's charred corpse. His thoughts were of two areas, to get away and grieve. His first jump pushed him towards the plane of Shandalar, his spark and magic looking to heal his mind and find himself. His next jump to the plane of Kamigawa. He hasn't stopped jumping since.

Abilities and equipment: Born of a union of a white Mage and green druid, Roure uses red mana as his main, but has learned to tap into the fields and sense of morality to use white mana and the feeling of passion and forests for green mana. Generally uses direct damage burns coupled with COPs etched into his skin.

Favorite creatures: He uses a large variety of behemoths and corpsefeeders, but shares a special connection to creatures like Godsires and other high powered creatures.

Odd facts: He hates to be alone, and generally is very calm for a Red user. When he is angered, it's more like fighting a blue wizard rather then a red, he fights with multiple strategies that leave many burning until he takes down the person or they apologize. When he jumps to the next plane, he finds a high vantage point and looks over the plane, watching the wildlife and looking for a place to rest. He loves the different creatures he has run into over his many adventures.

Motivations: He wishes to kill the Ghastlord that destroyed his family, and to atone for the death of his mother.

Name: Avel Avari (played by Megiddo)
Primary Colors: Black
Secondary Colors: Red

Backstory: Avari was once a human assassin living on a rather ordinary plane, with no knowledge of magic. Over a period of months, an otherworldly usurper manipulated Avari and drove him to suicide. His decision to kill himself rather than to bend to the will of his tormentor awakened his planeswalker spark.

Avari planeswalked to an unfamiliar mountaintop, with a renewed desire to live. Through his extensive training as an assassin, he was able to survive for weeks in the snow-capped peak. Avari was discovered by a nearby conclave of monks, who exposed him to fire magic. He learned quickly, and gained strength of both body and mind while living with the monks.

Eventually he left the mountain and traveled the strange plane until he encountered a clan of humans who lived in a deep swamp. The leader of this clan, an ancient shaman of the dark arts, took Avari as an apprentice after seeing his skill with magic.

The shaman taught the ways of darkness to Avari, who found that he took to it much more quickly than he had to the flame magic of the monks. The shaman's teachings reawakened Avari's heart to ambition and darkness, and he found himself struggling to keep himself in balance.

The true temptation came when the shaman revealed to Avari an artifact of great power. Despite its simple looks, Avel recognized immense magic residing within it, and was consumed with ideas of stealing the artifact. He was scared by this growing desire, and utilized the meditation techniques taught to him by the monks to keep it in check.

But eventually, the temptation overcame him. He slew his master with a dark curse in the dead of night and stole the artifact. However, he was disappointed. The artifact was just a powerless scrap. Avari realized that he had been tricked. It had been a test to see how dark Avari's heart had become. A test that, to the late shaman, Avari had passed with flying colors.
Avari was infuriated at how he had been so easily manipulated. In his rage over the deception, he reached clarity of mind and spirit. He held on to the worthless artifact as a reminder of his weakness, and then effortlessly entered the blind eternities, a true planeswalker at last.

Phys. Description: Avari stands about 6'4'' tall, and was at one point quite muscular. He lost much of his bulk on the mountain, but his body is still strong. Once a sharp dresser, he's since come to wear the plain clothing more typical of the mountain-dwelling monks.

Personality: Avari is a stoic, impersonal man who rarely speaks or shows emotion. He possesses a vast amount of practical knowledge, stemming from his assassin training. His cynical outlook comes from rather evil acts he both committed and witnessed in the past. Now he tries to be “good,” but isn’t above killing for personal gain. He will not work for others

Biography

Name: PA-X "Pax" (Played by Black OPS agent Dracarys)
Primary Color: Red
Secondary Colors: Blue and Black

History: PA-X hails from a world once known as Secard, but now simply known as Prime/Home. Long ago in it's history, one of the intelligent species there used mana to create a self aware autonomous steam- and-mana powered mechanical army capable of defeating it's foes in a long and bitter war. Using this technique, they were able to create warriors, tacticians, even generals. However, as the war drew to close the creators soon realized their error. They had imprinted heavily into the so-called Steams the desire to conquer and vanquish, and that desire was not sated with the victory of battle. No sooner was their foe defeated then their own creations turned upon them.

Guided by their instincts and their Elders, the first and most knowledgeable steams, Secard fell, city by city, until nothing remained but the Steams, who renamed the world Prime/Homeworld. With nothing left to conquer, they turned their gaze to the stars, only to be rebutted, incapable of extending their lives without available mana and water past the planets several moons, which they eagerly mined for more metals.

Then, a planeswalker stumbled across their world. He was horrified, and quickly fled, but not before striking down thousands of Steam Troopers, and giving the Elders the answer they searched for. A way to other worlds. Digging into the records of the old world, they learned about planeswalkers, about mana, and about other worlds beyond their own. So they set about attempting to create their own planeswalkers, new Steam Sovereigns that would bring them to new worlds to conquer. PA-X, or Planeswalk-Able eXperimental, was the first Steam Emperor, created by sacrificing thousands of steam soldiers to grant him enough mana to live without steam and travel the planes. Seeing their success, the Elders sent 'him' on his way, to begin the conquering of other worlds.

Name: Dominal (Played by Assistanceplease)
Race: Vedalken / Artifice hybrid
Colors: Blue primary, Black secondary

Appearance: When traveling Dominal has learned to keep his features under close watch. He finds that most often people do not understand his inherent superiority. Dominal is largely covered in the rare material known as Etherium. It could be rumored that among the planes only one persons Etherium purity exceeds his, Tezzeret. Dominal still carries enough Vedalken features that he can pass for one, but even his face has begun to be adorned with the filigree.

Biography: Born and raised as a great scholar and manipulator of Quicksilver, Dominal always knew there would be one more discovery, one more revelation. This led to his drastic experiments with the rare blinkmoth serum, a catastrophe that triggered his spark. He traveled then to the Shard of Alara known as Esper, where his cunning ans otherworldly knowledge won him audience with Tezzeret (pre-Bolas) and access to more Etherium then most. When the convergence began it's creep he erred on the side of self-preservation and fled, seeking more mechanical planes, and potentially more etherium.

Attitude/ Motivation: Dominal's goals are purely for self improvement. Living on Argentum tainted him to his artifact fervor. Calculating, he is not above helping other people if he sees a return on the favor. Calm, he is not one to panic, he believes himself above such a petty reaction.
