So I've been thinking about a cyberpunk campaign for the longest, just not sure what to make some of the side quest and enemies and gear.

Anybody got any ideas or info, if I'm gonna be a DM might as well be a good one that sends hideous future monsters after you, or at least have a good plot behind it

The point of cyberpunk is generally "fighting the man," so I wouldn't think monsters would make much sense as enemies. You'd be a lot more likely to come up against experimental corporation super-soldiers and the like, generally speaking.

What is unique about this world, something that we can build monsters and what not to suit it. I could say mutant bunnies, or radiated crocodiles, without knowing your world.

Gear is another topic where I'd ask about your world. I could come up with some underwater breathing ioun stones, and later find out that your planet is devoid of water.

Well the world is run on a power source called paelion its a type of ore

Well mining this ore is a company call Karma Tech made a contract with an engineering company that wants to use the ore to change the world call Anima Production Inc

Inside sources say that this is really a WMD and needs a team of merchs to deal with it
The team goes in but is obliterated one of them was a spy for the Karma Tech CEO Lucien McLevin

The last info they got was a video that contained a lab but the image is not so clear but the quest is clear API is up to something serious
_______

I wanna give it a spy espionage feel in the beginning but the further they get into the story the more action oriented i wanna make it

in this world theres is 5 cities after the great war:
-Crysalis (starts out): City build over a mass Paelion inlet the ore is the enter of finance some of there building are even made of crystal and infused with tech

-Agnidra- under constructions

-Dhelphia: A city that is a robotic utopia the citizens here live comfortable in regular residence along side synthetics

-The Greyland: this is the city in which is closed off to anyone without invitation it is said to be home of many inventors and technomancers

-Kikima: One of the very first Sky Residences ever to put into the atmosphere even 100 years after launch it still runs smoothly above the murky yellow clouds of the planet this post uses solar energy and conveys it for its finances

In depth: The world is just out of a war settling into peace the ares ares ususally covered in synthetic grass and metal the sun is blocked always by thin yellow clouds that give the land a weird ting but sunlight can shine through it seems the lands have divided into wasteland and synthetic forest along with the vast cities the cars fly ships are large as mountains and there is even satellite colonies just short of the atmosphere; sky residencies

There are biomecha suits and ammo has now been divided into ballistics and ore energy rounds along with paelion blades the power of this ore seems to have replaced magic in this world or it just might be magic
It should be a 2-4 player campaign with numerous actions for the choices they make (of course it wouldn't be DnD without it

Thats about as much as i have come up with
I also ran a game like it once to do some studies and experiments at letting people make there own classes to cope with the advance technical society i shouls also but a restriction to original book races only (like orcs drow elves dwarves halflings humans and thats it maybe goblins)

Thwomp Stompers (Took that name from the Super Mario Bro's movie, I'm great. :O) These prototype slip on boots have pronounced spring loaded heels that allow for eerily quiet landings. Foot steps are nearly rendered completely silent. Add a slight plus to stealth, climbing, and jump checks. Though you have to be moving like 10ft more slowly for these effects to take place. Have to balance the stuff they get early on, then give them an improved version later on.

Snake Eyes: Square shaped eye implants, temporary in nature; Snake Eyes allow the wearers to see infrared heat, like a transparency over their regular sight. They can see people through walls as very vague shapes; shapes that can sometimes be confused for machinery (which heats up occasionally.). Adds a bonus to perception for a while, but must be taken out after a while.. They can be re-used, but can only be used for 30 minute spans per-day. Any further use causes damage to the persons eye-sight.

Ioun-ix Cube: A puzzle game which requires a DC 10 to 15 intelligence roll to complete properly. Once the Ioun Stones are placed in proper alignment, the user has just but a moment to throw the cube before it erupts in a flash of light that magically blinds all within its radius. Like a flash bang.

Beldareaver, or Veldareavers: Blades made from that ore, that can take on a special property of the wielders choosing. The blades remain dormant until their trigger word is spoken, after which point the blade erupts in its chosen element. It can only take one special quality though, and that quality is permanent. You can be really creative with this item, as these weapons can technically take on any quality you can imagine.

Shock Droppers: A magic users tool; if magic is still possible in your cyber punk world. It absorbs touch spells, then folds in on itself.. Once the user wants to use it, they just press down on its top, then throw it. It then leaps up into the air (like those old plastic toys; the buttons that you pressed, then suddenly were entertained when it leaped back up.) Turns touch attacks into range touched attacks, but is used up on use.

I could come up with more if you like, I just need a little encouragement. Not money, just actual encouragement, like telling me my ideas are awesome.

It requires skill, because if you do not put the ioun stones in perfect alignment. The stones will blast you with their magical blindness. Its just a simple magical artifact that can be used multiple times, and is not safe for children to play with. IT is a bit dangerous, because at first it looks like a toy.

Its about the size, and approximate shape of a rubix cube, just rounder so it goes a bit further when tossed.
