This is a D&D topic, but that was kind of a duh. Anyway, I am a DM for like a group of 6 people and I have been doing it for like 3 years now. I some times come up with my own items and other home made things. I thought this would be a great topic for other to find some kool item ideas from others and input there own sweet items. This is for D&D only, if you don't make it for D&D your post will be deleted, also don't make GOD items. It is never fun to have an item that lets you say "I win game over".

Be sure that when making items give there stats and a little background to the item, like if it was made by a high level mage that was board and wanted to see if he could make a stick walk, talk, and eat others.

Top Selling Items

List of some of the really good items that have been posted here.

1. Body Switch Potion: This is an evil potion, You and the person you want to switch bodies with must drink from the same container. Once you both do if they are not willing they get a will save (DC 25). If they fail, your mind goes into the new body and they move into your old one. This item is very rare and not very easy to make.

2. Exotic Weapon: Warsledge
Two-Handed
Damage: 2d6 (M), 1d10 (S)
Crit: x3
Type: Bludgeding
Weight: 40 lbs.
Description: A Sledge bulit for war. The handle's been changed to steel and shortened so it doesn't split after multiple uses. (for thouse who don't know, a sledge is a hammer that's bigger [or at least heavier] then a maul)

3. Rose Colored Glasses: The name and appearance of this item is somewhat ironic and a play upon the old adage: 'seeing the world though rose-colored glasses.' Instead of deluding the wearer into seeing what they wish to see, the transparent rose-shaded lenses of these spectacles permit the wearer of this item to see things as they truly are, as if a contintiously under effect of a True Seeing spell.
Strong Divination CL: 9th, Craft wondrous Item, True Seeing 205,000 gp+8,200 xp

4. Gem of Chaoic Summoning: A strange device, this simple looking gem seems to be only worth a mear 150-300 gp. However, when the holder says the command word on it, a random creature (as Summon Monster VI) is summoned in an adacent square. As long as the monster's Alignment is near the users (LG monster summoned for a LG, LN, NG, or N user, for example), the user can command the creature. However, if the creature's alignment is radically opposite the user's (LG monster summoned by a LE, NE, CE, CN, CG), the monster instead acts in its best intrests (usually attacking the summoner). Cost: 10,000 GP? CL:11 Requirements: Craft Wonderious Item, Summon Monster VI

5. Sword of Aegis (not from gaiaonline)

+3 Demons Bane Longsword

Once per day you can cast Banashment as a 15 level spell caster, DC 18 or 13 + Cha modifer.

Anytime you drop to 0 or lower hit points when finghting a demon the sword heals you up to 1 hit point but becomes a -2 backbiting longsword for 24 hours.

History: Aegis (an angel from my D&D world) was sent down to earth to complete a mission from the gods, but did not tell him what he was going to do. Well, it turned out that there was a demon that was causing chaos all over the land and Aegis was the one that had to take him out. Not anything big but he soon found out that the demon was his brother Sigea. There was a huge battle and Sigea was sealing in another plane. After the fight Aegis droped his sword and returned to heaven

6. The Bow of Trysta
Named for a druidess who ventured beyond the woods into civilization, she came to soon hate what a city itself is built on...the taming of the wild. As if annointed by nature itself, her bow blessed her simple arrows...which were no more than fletched shafts whittled to a wooden point...and the arrows launched from this bow were nature's vengence on those who marred the land, planting the seeds of renewal. (Sadly, Trysta was doomed to capture and execution, facing such a hopeless battle as to defeat a city single-handed, no matter what her tactics were.)

Stats
+2 Seeking Mighty Composite Longbow (Str+1)
Of course, must have a 12 Str to wield, functions as a normal +2 Mty Comp Longbow unless used with arrows bearing no metal on them.
If used with a simple wood arrow, the bow bestows the following effects...
1) The arrow damage itself is d6, due to the weaker material of the wooden "arrowhead", and the lesser weight and worse aerodynamics of the arrow impose a -20ft penalty on range, however...
2) The next round after an arrow is in it's target, the wood magically branches in the subject, as if taking root in the body. This deals an additional d6 damage. (If two arrows struck the target, the next round both sprout to do 2d6 total...) This rooting damage is only dealt once per arrow.
3) If someone simply tries to rip out an arrow that has rooted, it deals an additional d4 damage. A Heal check of 15 can remove a rooted arrow without dealing further damage to the victim.
4) A dead body, if left with rooted arrows in it, will be used for food by the arrows which, if left, will grow to saplings (and eventually trees) of the wood from which it was made.

*Note* A DM might want to impose a rule that the rooting will only function for an Elf, or a Druid or maybe Ranger. Additionally, wood arrows with the Ironwood spell cast on them will be counted as normal arrows, negating the rooting effect.

7.The Broken Sword - A +2 Greatsword of little repute, this blade looks unorginal and plain. The weapon has a single special ablity, though. By speaking the command word, the Greatsword breaks in twain, creating a pair of +2 Longswords. The longswords look rusted and in ill repair, though.

Light Transmutation, CL 7th, Craft Magical Weapons and Armour

8. Coin of 8 sides

A coin that is made of gold, although only appearing to have 2 sides it really has 8. You can flick it in the air and catch it. The face up side effec occurs.

roll d8

1) Increase movement speed by 10 ft.
2) Grow wings of choice with perfect flying, and 50 flying speed.
3) Maxed out fireball explodes where you are.
4) Drop dead.
5) dc 27 fort save or 3d6 con dam.
6) Eyes ignite.
7) 500 blank scrolls.
Obtain a rod of wish that can be used by anyone, takes all 50 charges to use.

40,000gp

9. Kolbal King Great Ax -

A weapon made by the Kolbal god that hates all races but the kolbal. The Ax is a kolbal size great ax with different kolbal disigns eched in the blade.

It is a +3 Bane everything but kolbal Icy Burst. The only thing is, it hates others so much that its hard to aim at some one with it. While weilding it you get a -6 to all your attack rolls, not damage roll. And only kolbal can touch it. Anyone not must make a fort save when trying to touch it, if fail they take 5d8 force damage and thrown back 20 feet.

Bag of Planar Storage: This works just like a bag of holding but when you put something in it is droped off in another plane. Every 5 hours that is is left there, there is a 15% chance that a random monster or something could take off with your item. If this happens, it is replaced with an the same type of item but a magical verson of it. The magic verson is somehow related to the plane it was on. Also if it is taken, there is a 10% chance that the item is go for ever.

I think I have one I can contrubte, it's a rather high-end item though.

Rose Colored Glasses: The name and appearance of this item is somewhat ironic and a play upon the old adage: 'seeing the world though rose-colored glasses.' I have posted these before, but I'm still very fond of them. They where minor artifacts in my games, though you may see it differently. Also, I have not included the number of of coins, as every GM will have their own idea on how many is a good number.

The Blue Salamander is a group from Kingdoms Of Kalamar attempting world domination and operate much like the illuminati. Agents everywhere. Kobori is the Emporer of Kalamar, the largest nation on Tellene (the known world).

Coins of Bribery.
Magical coins that make it easier to bribe.

Base will DC to resist bribe 10+(coins used x 5). Even the most loyal of subjects must make the save. Once a save is made, the coins will not work on the same person for the same bribe twice.

Originally created by the Blue Salamnders to get one of their agents close to Kabori. Unfortunatly they overlooked one small problem, the coins can be used again. Over time, the coins changed hands, through bribery, and regular trading. Though the coins are not of propermint, and regonizable as a forgery with a spot DC 20, all members of the Blue Salamander are tought how to instantly reconize them, and give them back to their leaders.
