Welcome to CHAOTIC's [OFFICIAL] YUGIOH TCG THREAD! Here, we are all over discussion of the Yugioh card game.
It doesn't have to be positive, but it does have to be constructive. Don't just drop by and say
that you love Yugioh, please. Say what deck you run, maybe post up a decklist for everyone
to see. If we like your decklist, we might even link to it on the front page. Eventually, I plan
on running a weekly tournament either through Gaia threads or through Duel Network, but
that is later on in the future. So. . .without further ado, I open this thread for all to see!

Q: How do XYZ Monsters work?
A: Instead of a Level, Xyz Monsters have a Rank. This Rank determines the required Levels of the Xyz Materials needed in order to Xyz Summon your Xyz Monster. However, unlike Synchro Monsters, a Xyz Monster's Rank is not the total sum of the monsters' Levels used to Summon it; thus, if 2 Level 3 monsters are required, then the Xyz Monster`s Rank would be 3, not 6.

Most Xyz Monsters require you to "detach" ( meaning "send to the Graveyard" ) their Xyz Materials in order for their effects to activate, limiting their effect usage. When an Xyz Monster is removed from the field, its Xyz Materials are sent to the Graveyard.

An Xyz Monster's Rank is not its Level. Xyz Monsters do not have levels. Therefore, they cannot be used for Synchro, Ritual, or other Xyz Summons. Any effects that would refer to the Level of a monster, such as those of "Gravity Bind", "Level Limit - Area B", "Roulette Barrel", "Star Changer" and even "Burden of the Mighty" cannot be applied to an Xyz Monster under any circumstances. Two things to say:

1. Please fill me in on exceed combos. I'm kinda falling behind and need to get caught up.

2. Love the idea of the weekly tournaments. I've waiting on a dueling tournament for so long, though I don't know how to get to Duel Terminal. (I'm still new to some things, but not to the game.)

Well, I don't have Skype, nor do I have a video thing. I really think Duel Network is a great place to do it, since it's easy to use and the interface is pretty user friendly. That, and you can build any kind of deck you want off of Duel Network.

@thomas: Exceeds are like synchros but instead of being exact level combinitions, you need two monsters of the same level.

Synchro = Level 2 Tuner + Level 6 Monster = Level 8 Synchro
Exceed = Level 2 Monster + Level 2 Monster = Level 2 Exceed

The thing is, Exceeds have comparable characteristics to Synchro monsters that are three or four levels higher than they are.

A good Exceed combo that I like is:

Giant Germ.
Turn -
Giant Germ eff. = 500 Damage, + Summon two more Giant germs.
Exceed for 2.

I actually think that dueling through the forums would be a good idea too. When I put up tournament listings, I'll probably put what medium it will be through as well.

To be real i think you should invest in a webcam skype is a great way to duel and its more skillful cuz you have to work with what you have and i have loads of fun meeting new people (:
