so im new to warhammer i recieved a blood angel battle force as well as 8 paints and black primmer how ever, any where i look it says use white or red, can i still have a decent to good looking figurine if i use the black primer , and if so what could i do to salvage the paint sceme or do i need to go out and get white primer
the primers just darken or lighten any colours you put over it :/ if you use black your reds and stuff will be darker then if you'd used whites

some guys who probably know more then me xD http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/372636.page
I undercoat with black with my blood angels...
I only use black but eh :/ white would look silly on chaos - the only chaos i'd use white with is emps. children or other bright slaaneshy forces

personally I think Blood angels red would look good on a black primer. As far as making the white 'pop' persay, I would either base it with a grey color or even give the white areas with repeated coats until you got the brightness of the white you wanted.

It works really well for shadowing, really; use thin layers over it and build up while pulling further away from the edge with your paints while brightening up the armor. I use it all the time for flame effects.
I generally coat everything with Black Primer, if I want lighter colors I base coat the areas I want to be brighter with 1 or 2 coats of white before getting into any serious painting.
