                                                  CLARA STANDFORD FOXEN

It was dark outside. Her and Louise, their most skilled knight, had just succeeded on infiltrating the demon realm by hiding into a carriage full of straw. A classic, yes. But it still worked incredibly well. They've been in there for hours without moving nor talking until finally, it stopped. And when the both of them got out, it didn't take long that they were finding their way towards the castle. And while on the run, yet still being as discreet as she could, Clara frowned in determination.

They would put an end to this whole thing. Humans wouldn't be endangered. No more useless fights and no more lives to loose amongst their race. Yes. Now, after years and years of intense practices, they would defeat the demon king. Clara made it clear into her mind that now, it was a matter of life or death. And that there would probably be no in between... Not like she'd accept it. Nor would her parents. If she didn't succeed and ran away with Louise, they'd be considered a disgrace. And that would be worse than death. At least, it would in her mind.

They were finally in front of the castle. The crescent moon was out and shining brightly onto the immense castle they were both in front of. "Guess it's now or never... You ready?" She asked, turning to look at her partner with a serious look, holding out her hand for Louise to take it. "We can do this..." She mumbled, almost reassuringly all the while gripping the helm of her sword. This would be their only chance...

And with that, they got in... It was almost too odd to see the main door unlocked. And absolutely no guards in front of it. Were demons that confident about their powers? Did they think they were invincible?

The more they went up and closer to what seemed to be the throne room, the more Clara began to think that this was all a trap. Although it was obviously too late to turn back. Maybe they would be waiting for them down at the entrance now. Though she still slowed down for a moment, doubting. "This is too weird..." She mumbled, then glancing up at the huge door in front of them.

This was it. They would finally meet the demon king. They only had to push these doors. "You ready?" She asked, giving Louise a side glance before taking out her sword and pushing the door open.

"Demon king! We've come to defeat you!" She shouted, loud and clear so it resonated thorough the whole room.

LOUISE BLUMENTHAL

Dame Louise Blumenthal silently followed her princess's lead, from classically being smuggled into the country by straw carriage - a few sticks of which she no doubt still had in her vest - to the very gates of the demon king's castle.

She knew the Princess Clara was determined from the very beginning to see this through, but while Louise would follow her to the ends of the earth, the knight was just as determined to ensure that the princess live to return to her parents safely, regardless of what would happen within the next few hours.

At the princess's question, Louise smiled and reassuringly gripped her hand before laying it on her own sword and continuing to follow her as they entered the castle. As they progressed deeper and deeper within the caste, however, the lack of guards began to weigh heavily on Louise's mind. Surely the demons couldn't be this confident... But as the doors to the throne room came into view, Louise knew they had come too far - there was no convincing the princess to turn back now. So when the princess repeated her earlier question, Louise simply drew her sword and offered her smile once again.

"Of course, your highness." And with that, they pushed through the doors together, Louise stepping in front and to the left of the princess as she called out her warning.

Candles lit the walls and yet darkness still clogged the room, as if the light from the candles were pushed back to a distance to the point that where the throne stood bathed in shadow, with only a darker silhouette hinting at a figure sitting upon the throne. Silence rang out for a few short moments after the princess's call before a chuckle broke out, melodic and low at first, before rising into full blown laughter.

ALTAN FAIRBAIRN

Altan couldn't help but burst out laughing. It was just too perfect - the .little girl bursting into the room, sword raised, proclaiming her defeat over him.

"Did you hear that, Alden? If that wasn't worth the wait, I do not know what was."

He got up from his seat and took a few calm steps forward, into the light, tilting his head at the two women.

The taller blonde woman stepped forward protectively in front of the younger brown-haired girl and raised her sword. She glanced around, probably confused as to who he was addressing, but soon gazed back at him.

"Will you meet our challenge or let us cut you down as you stand?" asked the blonde calmly, but Atlan payed her little heed as he looked back at the little brown haired girl.

"Challenge? Hmm, I don't think so. Alden, why don't you say hi? Be gentle, though. I think I want to keep them around for a while." He smiled at the brown-haired one before turning his back on them to return to his throne.

                                                  ALDEN BARRINGTON

Alden sighed at the outburst. Two women, a brunette and a blonde. Two very foolish and pitiful human that dared to cross the realm and get where they are. A very bad choice, really. And not only that but he could easily guess, by the clothes, that they were high ranked if not nobles. After all, no mere villager would have such a shining armour.

But here they were. Earlier that night, Alden had received a warning from the guards, telling that two young human infiltrated the demon realms. Not quite a surprise for there had been lots of people breaking in before... And they all ended up facing their dull fate: Death. So as always, he told his highness about it but was, in return, told to do absolutely nothing about it. So they would just have to wait till they get to the throne and crush all of their hopes then? That didn't sound like a bad idea at all...

It was an amusing sight to see everything work out perfectly. These two pitiful humans had entered the castle and without any guard holding them back, arrived rather quickly to the throne room where both he and the king have been waiting.

Alden couldn't help but smirk a little bit after hearing the brunette's outburst. "Wow, so much confidence..." He thought to himself, then rolling his eyes because he knew it wouldn't be long that she'd be fearfully trembling under his grip... Or more like, under his claws... Or swords... Ah, well, after all, it was the least he could do as the king's most faithful butler. These two wouldn't last much long for they probably wouldn't even be able to go past him. And of course, to attack the king, you had to defeat the butler.

Hearing his highness speak up after a good laugh made Alden turn around for a second before nodding. "Yes indeed. And I'm sure it will be quite amusing for you to watch..." And with that, he went back to face the two women for a moment, letting the kind and the blonde woman exchange a few words before hearing his cue. At that, of course, the butler couldn't help but smirk, taking off his white gloves. "As you wish." He replied.

Next thing we knew, the demon disappeared in a flash, only to appear behind the two foolish humans, closing the doors an locking them without much of a bother. In fact, it was only when the brown haired one charged that he began reacting, grabbing the girl's wrist before the sword could touch his skin without forcing a bit. He stared down at her with menacing eyes before pushing her away, leading to her falling and rolling a few meters away. He took that time to glance at the other one, wondering what she'd do as well. "I was expecting more coming from high ranked humans... Guess I overestimated the race again... It is slightly deceiving."

                                                  CLARA STANDFORD FOXEN

Clara gritted her teeth as the demon king began to laugh, sitting in his throne and not even looking a bit surprised. She watched with hateful eyes the amused demon talking to his butler like they were simple toys they could play with. How insulting. Were all of these demons jerks? Hmm... She couldn't expect more though.

So when Louise spoke, she nodded in agreement. "If they think they can get us alive..." She mumbled, getting ready to fight as the butler began walking closer to them. Although, at the last minute, disappeared. Next thing she knew, he was behind their back and closing the doors. "There's no need for that.... We won't escape. We came here to defeat the king and if that means defeating you on the way, then so be it."

And with that, she charged at the demon, without really thinking. She was quite surprise to see him actually catching her sword between his hand. And in a matter of second, her sword was broken! "What?!" She exclaimed, her eyes growing wide as she glanced at the broken blade. What kind of black magic was that?! "How did you-- !!"

                                                  "You're underestimating demons young girl..."

Clara growled, sending him a strong glare as she charged once again, though this time taking him by surprise by cutting her own hand and then touching his rib. She could hear him wince at the slight pain that was transferred from her hand to his body and she couldn't help but smirk at that. "And you underestimate humans." She replied, throwing back his words.

Although, before she knew it, a strong force sent her to the wall roughly. So much that it left a few cracks behind. "You shouldn't get too over confident." The butler spoke, leaving her to glare at him even though she was held against the wall by nothing visible, helpless. "You jerk... !!"
